*guyversudo
Sorry if I posted this already. I had posted pictures of other Guyver figures on prime 1 and they had to take them down but was just reading this and maybe this has to do with why no new Guyver chapters. They said they are working closely with the creator of Guyver and don't want to upset him.

IHateToPryver
Ya know, with older Manga/Anime getting new and wonderful treatment (hence Devilman: Crybaby), there's no telling what may be in the works for Guyver. I'm hoping for a new Anime that runs a little closer to the manga. Netflix has started picking up really badass anime, all of which I expect merchandise for any time now. Let's just keep fingers crossed for an equally cool bio-boost campaign. And where the hell is the Guyver videogame?!?!?!

Thank you, Thank you Thank you for saying that! hahahahahahaha. Devilman is one of my all time favorite series, in fact it shares the Number #1 spot with Guyver! This has been a year of great knews and this is by far the best. Fingers crossed for new Guyver!!!!
IHateToPryver
Yeah man. Crybaby had me crapping And backflipping. Fist of the north star, devil man, and guyver were my three introductions into Japanese culture as a youngster. Needless to say, all three made huge impressions on me. This New devilman anime is supposed to be REALLY well done. I guess they got a dream team together to do it. An Actual adaptation of the original manga!!!! Now Guyver Vs Devilman would be totally ****ing rad....a man can dream can't he?! Edited April 14, 2017 by IHateToPryver

Now Guyver Vs Devilman would be totally ****ing rad....a man can dream can't he?! I've dreamed of a cross over for years, In fact I was going to look round at some point and see if I could commission an artest to draw Guyver Gigantic fighting Devilman. For me, I first saw Devilman as part of my first Guyver/anime experience ever as a trailer for it was on my first VHS OVA 3. I looked it up years later. It might be because Cyborg 009 vs Devilman was really good and from what I hear was successful. Its been a very long time to wait but finally Devilman's full story is going to be told. Fingers crossed that Guyver will get some love to, yes a guy can dream. Edit: Also I think over time Devilman has borrowed something from Guyver (or more likely Guvers inspiration Baoh and jojo's Kars). Forearm Blades are awesome!. He is currently helping design the new highly detailed 1/4 Guyver stuff coming from Prime 1 Studio's. It is worth noting the following while we've not had new Guyver written content we've seen the following: 1. Totally band new highly detailed statues from Prime 1 that are AMAZINGLY detailed. 2. The Figma range has continued and Guyver 3 is due out in a few months from now (July). 3. The live action movies have had 2 1/3 scale highly detailed figured of the Guyver and the Guyver Zoanoid made too. The last time Guyver was this active we got the 2005 anime series. Not saying that is the case now, but it is great to see things this active again. Hopefully the wait will be worth it
IHateToPryver
I still don't see why it would be such a horrible thing to tell loyal fans, "oh hey, no new Guyver right now, maybe in five months..." At least then we'd have something to look forward to...

Salkafar
"Helping design", you said. Helping design a sculpture of a character he has been drawing for thirty years. Helping a team of designers and sculptors design something. He's not doing it himself, is he? He's not sitting behind a screen, weighing meticulously this angle and that, deciding on material thickness, for ten hours a day? Or am I wrong? Salkafar
Yes, I have designed and built things. Although I don't see how that is relevant, Sully. I am asking: what is taking up so much of his time, specifically? What is he actually doing?

I am asking: what is taking up so much of his time, specifically? What is he actually doing? The likely hood of knowing "actually doing" from what info we have from that above post = 0%. If you've designed and built things you know it all takes time. Depending on what you're designing a lot of time. Even if Takaya provided just 2d design work the Prime 1 figures are 3D something Takaya has never done. The one thing we know is Prime 1 is "Closely working with the Creator". That's not terminology used by someone who shoved some pre-drawn sheets of paper at the designers of Prime 1 and ran away. Judging by the extreme amount of detail in each of those figures Takaya didn't leave anything to chance. Each one of those figures is 3D story in itself tied to the Manga. jerrygoodman
Well I can certainly appreciate the man's commitment...I just hope he's at least planning out the rest of the story as he's doing this too.
Gazham
From what I see, I think he's quite hard to work with. Steve Wang said so in the dark hero making of, I seem to recall a few interviews with people saying the same thing. I can understand not wanting to budge when it comes to a project you have invested a lot of time and effort in to. It wouldn't surprise me if he was micro-managing all these small side ventures. Hopefully the manga resumes this year, even a small hint would curb a lot of the fans frustration on the matter!

If Takaya being hard to work with is true, I wonder if it turned away any possible projects that others brought to him. When/if the series does come to an end, I wonder if he'll be a little bit more lenient in terms of creative freedom from others?
Bio-Boosted Dude
If he really is that strict then you have to wonder how some of the animation/quality issues with the 2005 series slipped through, unless that's what made him become this rigid in his ways. TricoBren
Somebody in the facebook group mentioned that he was drawing other manga under his alias? Not sure if I misread that or whatever but I'm only interested in the manga. I couldn't give a toss about toys. I'd just like to know what's happening with the manga. If after all this wait, the next chapter is only 10 pages i'm gonna bin it I think. I have trouble enough remembering what's actually happening in the story as it is.... Love your optimism though Sully!
