  1. Bruno Patrick as Malmot is pretty neat. I wasn't into their short film to be honest but this looks like it will be a lot of fun and worth watching for sure
  2. Yeah they're very cool. Hilariously expressive
  3. Fair enough! Thanks for your work Sully
  4. Is there any way to make it look basically how it was before? the main forum page is a bit cumbersome to scroll down with such large thumbnails instead of the simple list and having post previews in the sub boards makes the page a bit overwhelming.
  5. Looks like there really was a crazy number of original illustrations on display - looks like basically everything that was in the Illustration Chronicle and, judging from some tweets, some shonen captain covers that have never been compiled anywhere and manuscript pages. Even though photography wasn't allowed you can see some of these walls in the background of other photos (links because attachments seem to be broken?) https://x.com/bounce_masa/status/2032836989205258421/photo/3 (this one you can see that some covers were drawn in two pieces - Bio freezer and Sho are isolated and displayed next to the backgrounds for volumes 21 and 22 - which i think i remember takaya talking about in the illustration book for several illustrations) https://x.com/judy_totoya/status/2033464858277249130 https://x.com/azuma_kazan/status/2033095881805988021 https://x.com/Akito_Nagumo/status/2033036847681778139 I'm fortunate enough to have a friend in Tokyo who was willing to go to the exhibition and pick up the Guyver Unit cushion for me. Very excited to receive and... hug it?
  6. very exciting stuff. the BTS photos he posted on the following post are also very nice. wasn't really expecting any new media for guyver's 40th so this will do nicely. hopefully the OST finally sees the light of day. that thread that Les Claypool was posting in sounded very promising all those years ago so hopefully this is it. also some pretty nuts camera trickery to make the rhino zoanoid look as tall as he did on screen!
  7. We used to have scans of the Chuang Yi covers on the old wiki's merchandise page (still visible on the wayback machine) but the higher res versions didn't get saved, so I've scanned in my dust jackets for anyone that might like to get a better look at them. I also scanned in a few data files so people can get a flavour for what they looked like in the CY release: https://mega.nz/fm/PYYSiZxK enjoy!
  8. I'd like to manage your expectations and say I'm pretty sure he's just referring to the fact that figures are still coming out. As in the release of Guyver figures is "still going"
  9. That Dark Hero mystery prototype looks great. So nice to see all the details of the suit so clearly. Here's some other pics I found on twitter of Smile Fest, including some better shots of Takaya's and Max Watanabe's words. That last board with text talks about the publishing of the old vinyl BFC line and various photos that were taken to re-create scenes from the manga. I wonder where those images were originally published. You can use Google Lens to get some very rough translations of various captions which is pretty fun!
  10. Ha good find! Thanks for sharing. I'm surprised at how early in the day its showing but nice to see evidence of Guyver getting such public acknowledgement.
  11. https://bearmanor-digital.myshopify.com/products/budget-biomorphs-the-making-of-the-guyver-films-paperback It's out! Has anyone read it?
  12. Ooph, that's sad. I wonder if it was even really worth their time publishing it over there anyway so not terribly surprising. Fingers crossed they pick it back up when it resumes in Japan
  13. Surprised no one has posted this yet but I just became aware of this book: https://thatdomobrien.wordpress.com/budget-biomorphs/ No release date yet but sounds like it will be exciting with never before seen photos and artwork/storyboards.
  14. I'm surprised that's a recent illustration, the proportions of the guyver look very much like the early style of the 80s. at any rate, it's very nice to see that there's at least one new illustration in the book - he's still got it!
  15. Could you guys maybe post a pic of an example of one that has only been seen split between two pages? It's a bit disappointing to hear there's nothing new but at least Guyver is getting a moment. I'll have a think about buying it at some point over the next couple months.
  16. There is a preview of the inside of the book up on Amazon now - nothing new or mindblowing but I'm sure the book will be a nice package. Interesting that there's no proper cover image yet though. edit: cover https://twitter.com/baronend/status/1684102104011636736/photo/1
  17. Ha, fair enough. Love that there's a distinction
  18. Woahhh, this is insane news!! I'll definitely be getting my pre-order in. I had actually been thinking a while ago about how much content could fill up a second VDF and was a bit disheartened because I thought such a thing would never happen. Well here we go! Arguably a new chapter would be even better news but I'm looking forward to all the eye candy that comes with this book. It's strange that the Amazon listing is calling it Takaya's "first" art book of Guyver, but that could just be google translate being weird?
  19. Thanks for posting that! It's great to see the differences in proprtions/shape for certain armour plates, with all variations feeling correct as I imagine Takaya has drawn them like all three variations at different points.
  20. Wow I don't really have any interest in collecting figurines (not since buying the Guyver I BFC way back when) but those pictures look great and I am tempted. The sculpt and detailing look tight as hell. Will be interesting to see if it looks as good out in the wild.
  21. Good post! Reminds me a bit of the merchandise page we had on the old Japan Legend wiki. It didn't get completed before the wiki went down but it was pretty good for the main bits of merch you could get and has the above figures listed: https://web.archive.org/web/20101205073132/http://japan-legend.com/wiki/index.php?title=Guyver:_Merchandise
  22. Very late, but yeah that sound clip is great! Looking forward to seeing how the visual side goes.
  23. I think even if we get the story in full, the one thing that I have no problem with never being revealed is what the uranus look like. theres got to be some mystery left in the guyver universe and keeping the creators as such expands our perceived scale of it.
  24. Super impressive work! I saw you made a thread last year asking for reference pics to make this - did you find them? This is definitely the clearest look at the movie's interpretation of the Relic ship I've ever seen.
  25. Is this the first Guyver I figure without that silly little ab piece under the megasmasher? That part of all the other figures' designs really bugged me - totally unnecessary for creating the impression of articulation when this new solution would have always worked.
