I decided to make a general thread about various technology stuff about mechanical and electrical devices. Anything can be discussed here, though my areas are expertise are limited with some technology (though looking up the stuff could give me something to do when I'm bored). Mostly, this is a discussion about how various technologies work and our thoughts and opinions on them. Since one of my areas of expertise is automotive stuff, there's a new type of high-beam headlight that Audi and BMW are developing call the Laserlight. Audi currently are using them on their new R18 e-tron quattro racing car, and their Audi Sport Quattro concept car, and BMW feature them on…

How does the Host of the Guyver command the suit to activate it's weapons, does he/she do it through thought or does the suit reconize the situation I have been wondering this since I first started watcing the Guyver since I was 5.

Ever been in this position? Sure you have. We all have. I honestly cannot stand it when I'm at work or in public. Especially if its someone I personally don't like. They do one thing, They open their mouth. Its not who they are that turns me off. Its what comes out of their mouth. I've had old people that you wouldn't believe are obnoxious. Sure, lets talk about religion and politics. Lets sit and insult someone's sexual orientation or race. Lets sit around and talk smack about everyone. This is where the valuable words of please shut the hell up comes into my book. Some people are just weird. I've listened to people talk and debate politics and how thing…

So I've developed new questions regarding the old dino's and their lost traits. Here's a question: Do you think dino's could regenerate lost limbs like lizards do today? =)

It realy bugs me when i see these vegans or vegetarians who think they are so superior. they cherish the sanctity of life etc etc. but they show a remarkable amount of ignorance whilst claiming to be more educated. they fail to see the bigger picture. first of all, they say that animals should not be eaten because it is cruel to eat another form of life. they fail to realise they are discriminating against another form of life. they are suggesting that plant life is somehow less significant than animal life. they claim that animals suffer. first off, they have no way of knowing if an animal suffers like humans. much of an animals behaviour is instinctive, they…

What can I say, the man makes great videos. How many times has scifi shown us the interior of a nuclear reactor? Since we deal with a lot of scifi on this board, this should be interesting to many: I'm amazed at how messy it is. It reminds me of a couple of other places I've worked.

Theres been a discussion on xmen and the Guyver suit and how they would/could interact.... its made me think about how the Guyver actually interacts with the human body... Seeing as the Guyver is a 'human body instant remodelling system' that means that it 'remodels' or restructures the human body fundamentally at a cellular level, we know this in that it restructures the DNA to strengthen the muscles, bones, heart and eyes... it also interacts with the human body by degenerating the lungs and other internal organs. i didnt realise that the Guyver totally restructered Shos body... so does that mean the only thing that remains of Sho when he bioboosts are his brain, deg…

Is cheating ever okay? For the most part no. I think its immoral. If you don't want to be with the person, no matter how complicated. Leave them. Break up. I don't believe in lying to someone's face, because some people almost always find out. I think the thing with cheating is that its the normal thing people do in society to have sex out side of a relationship or marriage. I think if you're so inclined to go out and have sex with other people or pursue a relationship outside of a marriage, than perhaps some people haven't realized that they're not happy with who they're with no matter how many times they convince themselves that they are.

Okay, just checked back on an older Manga issue... the advent left 20 MILLION YEARS AGO! I was under the assumption they left only a million years ago. I don't care if they increase their technology at snail speed, they must be ludicrously advanced by now. Alcanphel is banking on numbers and his hopes he can bond with a Guyver unit... else they stand no chance in an all out attack. It also makes me more certain that apollyon is not directly involved with the Advent. Twenty MILLION years and they give a damn now? Looking iffy. ************************************* This topic was getting out of control in the orignial thread topic that it started in so it has thus been m…

Not sure if any of you are aware of the Suidobashi Heavy Industry corporation. But these guys are awesome! Japan makes the first steps towards a high powered militarized mech. This is some really amazing stuff that they work. These guys are literally trying to build the first Gundam aka Mecha Warrior. The video is about Suidobashi's heavy industry mech, Kuratas and how it operates. Check out this video. http://youtu.be/2iZ0WuNvHr8 http://youtu.be/4ZIWXNS7Ggc Also here is the official page. This is so amazing. I want one! These things are literally built like tanks! http://suidobashijuko.jp

It is said that life force or chi animates our physical bodies. That or it helps animate our bodies. Any idea how something like that interacts with our physical bodies to animate them?

This is a topic about light and darkness and things related to them, such as fear of the dark, trying to light the darkness, and why people like the night time or day time, and anything that one can think of, as well as ways for "seeing" though the darkness of night or overcast and illusions, such as mirages and such. First, I'll start with a question? What is darker outside: a new moon night or an overcast night? That does go towards how light can trick us and how we in reality might not be able to see the same thing. In other words, it depends. I'd have to say a new moon night with dim stars. With overcast, the cloud cover can catch and reflect light, and the …

I have to admit that until the holidays that I haven't been on this forum for a while, but it seems that there's been a bit of an influx of female members here. I wonder what it is that draws the female fans to Guyver. After all, Guyver is a science fiction/action-adventure manga and anime series. So there's plenty for male fans to go around as far as a PG-13 rated story (let alone the violent as all hell for its time OVA series), but what is drawing the girls in? Just curious about this.

Can you believe the USA is wanting to colonize Mars in 25-30 years? And they say their going to start sending people in 2025? 200,000 people wan' t to leave their families behind and sit for 2 years in a Mission Lander, Nasa's new space shuttle just to go to a permanent vanguard Mars colony. I have one word for that. Stupid. Its suicide. You can't do jack sh*t on Mars. What do they plan to do when they go to their little Mars Station that sits on red rocks? What then? Go outside? What if something terrible happens like some sort of devastating storm that destroys the colony's life support systems? Wait, we see the president on CNN or NBC issuing some sort of apology f…

so when a zoanoid transforms into it's battleform, it seems to gain mass? well first off I think we need to confirm this factor. what evidence do we have that a human form does not have great mass? (the only one i can think of is mizuki helping fumio... but that may or may not be reliable. there may be other factors involved.) can we come up with some way of explaining how a human form has the same mass as his battleform? if not, and there is really a mass discrepancy, how can we go about explaining it? we have already had some idea, but maybe we need to clear it up. while we are talking about this, I think that a good subtopic to be involved in this maybe at …

Alright, let's stop griping about what I do for work, and more into real philosophy. What is the meaning of life? What is your raison d'etre? What is the proof that humanity deserves to exist? It's something that everyone thinks about every so often. It's pretty unlikely any of you have come to a conclusion, but I'm interested in discussing what you've come up with so far, so that we may pool our experiences, and maybe form a cohesive construct of what life means for a middle age person (age 15-40), which is the age range of this thread, if not this board. By no means am I asking you to reach a conclusive end now, however I'd like to know what you think it is at …

Ever since Oct. of 2013 I've been following, listening and reading these cases and stories. I have some of his books and always love listening to new interviews by him. I also look forward to the documentary. It's incredible. If you haven't taken a look at this, I strongly recommend give it a try. It may change your perspective on the outdoors. It's incredibly tragic and sad. I have a lot of respect for him and what he's doing. The first interview I heard from him on the subject back in 2013

I was just thinking about relaivity again. I'm sorry it just doesn't sit right with me and I guess it never will. well I was thinking along these terms.. they say that you cannot go faster than the speed of lilght. however, the escape velocity of a black hole is said to be FASTER than the speed fo light. so here is what I don't get... there is a speed faster than the speed of light. that speed exists. theoretically that speed is a fact. it is the escape velocity of a black hole. so... gravitons go faster than the speed of light... right? because that is how a black hole works, with gravitons, isn't that what gravity is? also the fabric of space is faster than…
