  1. A fan made MMPR movie? With designs like that... I might actually be interested... More concept art on the page itself, but the enclosed image was the only one posted on 4chan as of this posting... So far. mmprfilm.com *edit* That is from their facebook page too... Lots more pics there.
  2. Thankfully I'm not really a loyalist gamer... I've almost all the systems over my lifetime. I go where there is games I want. I always tend to wait for the games. If there are games that are exclusive to the console that I have to have, I'll consider buying it. Heck, with the PS3 I didn't even buy one until the new model came out... ( and I think that was more for a Blu-Ray player) And even then I play it with a 360 shaped controller ( though technically it is from Batman Arkham City). I am not sure I like the changes to the XBox controller though. Looks like they went for trigger buttons closer to what is on the PS3 controller... Which are horrible. And rumble buttons? Meh. Even if the Halo TV series is available Day 1, it won't be a deal breaker for me, as everyone who has ever talked about it so far has mentioned, it'll no doubt be ripped and available via torrents moments after it airs. And the fact most of the "launch" titles we've already heard of, will probably be cross released on the 360 anyway. A trend that will probably stick around for most "AAA" titles for probably 6 months to a year. I guess the upcoming E3 might show us a few exclusives, but I doubt there will be any truly great ones. Like most I am not happy with a lot of the choices, nor will I end up using a good portion of them. But if the games are there... I will buy em. That goes for both the XBO and the PS4. And since I didn't note it before, since I am so freakin lazy, welcome back my friend!
  3. Yet, it is all true. While here in Canada, we have a similar problem, it is on a smaller scale... Until more recently. Sure, we've always had "Fast Food" but in comparison, our "Large" size is the normal American "Medium" size. Sure, they still are dirt cheap, so it's easy to just buy more.
  4. Hated it. My god it was garbage. I honestly do not see how people are liking it. And there is no sarcasm there. I really did not like it overall. I've heard professional critics call it the best MARVEL movie to date. They probably just don't want to be left out when Disney starts showering previews on critics they like. I'm glad the rottentomatoes.com score is dropping like crazy. Ugh. Anyway, enough ranting, I've got to sleep. Got to get up for work in 3 and a half hours. Joy. *THE NEXT MORNING EDIT* Ok, I didn't HATE it, but it certainly is my least favorite of the Marvel movies. I don't know if it was just a bad plot, or directing... Or both. My points in the spoilers though are still points that I did not like about it. That much isn't going to change. After the smart and witty first movie, and the funny but more action oriented 2nd movie... This one just feels disjointed. It tried to be funny, but didn't have the action to make up for a lot of it like the second movie did. Nor was it as smart or witty as the first. It tried to be a bit of a lot of things... Romantic Comedy/Buddy Cop/Sci-Fi Thriller/Heartwarming Family/Action movie... And it tried way too many things at once. And it just did not work for me.
  5. Have I mentioned that I hate you? No? Because I hate you. Really hate you. With a burning passion I hate you. Because you did not attempt to steal one of the 1:1 armors and ship it to me! Bastard!
  6. A new season is upon us, and thus a hoarde of new shows. So, what are you watching? Surprisingly, there is a few series this season that I actually am watching. Majority are mecha shows ( 3 of em! Wow!), but one is not. Valvrave the Liberator - Sunrise's mecha show for the season. At the time of writing I think only episode 1 is out, but so far it seems decent. Another " Young boy ends up in powerful mecha" series. Definately more on the serious side of the spectrum, but not Grim/Dark... so far. The Valrave itself is kinda odd looking, but is still a humanoid design. Judging from the episode and the opening however it looks like other mechs take a much more different styled approach, which if they look good can really be refreshing. Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet - This one I am liking only from the first 2 episodes. Basic plot is the "Futuristic Mecha and Pilot get transported to low technology area." trope but so far the characters seem pretty good, and the main character is kind of stoic, but he doesn't even speak their language so his mech does it for him. He's also kind of young and the opening kind of hints that he starts to lighten up. It feels like it will be a series with "heart"Plus his mech already looks kind of Chibi, which is awesome. Majestic Prince - I'm surprised I like this one as much as I do. Some of the mecha designs are kinda odd looking but not bad, and of course the "Hirai face" issue. However, the series isn't just serious, and has a bunch of humor as well. Especially when the main character draws and wants to be a toku hero. Basic premise is that there is Aliens attacking Earth/Colonies/Bases and Earth defenses aint all that great. Enter the "MJP" a special military organization that bred and raised 5 teenagers ( maybe more) to pilot state of the art mecha to fight the aliens. However these teenagers were allowed their own personalities and such so they all have issues... Mostly hilarious. Attack on Titan - Not too sure about this one... It seems very Grim/Dark despite the fact I know the first episodes are about the main character before he becomes what they show in the opening. Basically, there are being known as Titans. Something like 15 meter tall naked cavemen, who eat people. The city of people has a 50 meter wall stopping the titans from entering... Until something breaks open one of the walls and the titans enter. The plot itself seems pretty original ( but then that is just me), but I don't know how Grim/Dark they will go with the series. That much may bne a bit of a turn off, but still willing to give it a shot. So, what are you watching?
  7. Possible? Yes, definately. Takaya has plenty of material enough to do a second season, even without catching up to where he currently is. I remember writing up a brief guideline of how I think it would play out episode wise... Wonder if that post is still around... *edit* Nope. D'oh! But as pointed out by Lordspleach, everyone practically thought the new series would be as bloody as the old OAV, especially with ADV saying it was "The new face of ultra violence"... And turned out to not be "Ultra violent" at all. It took the one thing the OAV was fondly remembered for, and never followed through... Though it being a TV series rather than an OAV probably had a lot to do with that. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype or expectations of the studios. And remember, ADV Films paid a lot of money to try and kickstart the Guyver revival ( I think they said it was around $700,000+) So unless another wealthy company/person wants to gamble their money on it, I doubt we'll see another season. Hell, if I won a few million dollars in the lottery ( well, maybe more than 10+) I would totally do it. But I am still waiting on my lucky numbers!
  8. Update! Current and still growing cast list from Bryan Singer! L-R: Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Erik Lensherr), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Peter Dinklage (Unknown Villain), Halle Berry (Storm), Ellen Page (Shadowcat), Shawn Ashmore (Bobby Drake), Omar Sy (unknown), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus), Fan Bingbing (Blink), Booboo Stewart (unknown).
  9. I wish I had half the drive to draw as much as her and Aiuke/Ladena... ( I follow both on DA) Sure some of the subject matter isn't fully up my alley, but it's still Guyver. Very good looking Guyver material. And I will always like that... despite the Yaoi-ish themes sometimes.
  10. All we really know for certain is that a LOT of the cast from ALL previous X-Men movies have already signed on... Including Patrick Stewart, Ian Mckellan, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, almost the entire cast from "First Class" and more. It's going to be a massive movie. And the "Days of Future Past" is a classic comic story from decades ago involving the future and extermination of mutants. Edit: I guess I should note as well, that this is not X-Men 4. It is X-Men First Class 2... Which is basically X-Men 5
  11. Not sure if that makes me want to like it more... Or less. I really need to stop reading articles about Iron Man 3. So they are going with the Extremis, but in a toned down way? I can see the reality of if, since in the comics, Extremis made Iron Man much stronger than ever. In the movies they do got to keep him more grounded. The fanboy in me however, wants pure Extremis. And until I see how they do it in the movie, it will still want the pure Extremis story. Silly fanboy. Silly me. Granted, all these armors, and the fact that Extremis in the comics made Tony quite a bit unstable... Might be a good way to do the Armor Wars story for Iron Man 4... DOWN FANBOY! DOWN!
  12. I have mixed thoughts on the trailer... 1. Looks like they are using a few parts from the story plot that came after Extremis... A Terrorist implanting repulsor ( or in this case Arc reactor) tech into suicide bombers. That explosion near the start of the trailer does look awfully unlike a normal bomb... And the scene with the multiple guys being strapped into some deivce with a piece that goes over their chest in just the right area. The enemy who did that in the comics was Ezekial Stane ( son of Obidiah), but seeing it here would also be kinda cool. 2. Rhodey kicking ass. The comics prequel for IM3 explained how he aquired his new armor, and why he wasn't able to help out in The Avengers. And that little bit of action at the end of IM2 was great... But not nearly enough. So seeing him kick some ass on screen will be awesome. 3. The 40 armors... While this did happen in the comics ( actually at the end of the plot from #1's point), this part I have a bit of a problem with... Because it could go either way... It could be extremely awesome, and well done... Or it could be overkill for the sake of overkill. I HOPE it is awesome... But after Iron Man 2, I have to be skeptical. In Iron Man 1, they found what really worked. in Iron Man 2, they tried to change it, and unfrotunately it did not quite work out as well. So for Iron Man 3, I am hoping they learned from their previous mistakes and make a stronger story, while keeping some big action pieces... But seeing all the scenes so far, it's hard to keep optimistic about a fully coherent plot. I can still hope though... Because the fanboy in me loves all the action. But after IM2 it's hard not to be a bit skeptical. Oh yeah... 4. MORE TOYS!... Though I noticed that some of the "Concept" designs from the first Iron Man toy line have made it into the movie... I am hoping for a better shot of the Marine/Underwater armor...
  13. Not a band. Just a guy. Gavin Dunne. http://miracleofsound.net And yes. He is awesome. And my favorite of his... Just because it's so true. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/3158-Commander-Shepard
  14. The fight between them as Guyvers, I actually felt that Agito maybe wasn't really trying his hardest, and Sho was fighting smart. It did surprise Agito a bit, even though he pointed out that Sho wouldn't go for the kill. If Sho had been going for the kill, Agito would have been dead. The whole point of the fight was Agito wanted to show off his new toy to Sho, and prove he didn't really need him anymore. And once they both used their Gigantic armors, it become less about skill, and more about pure power. Agito used what he thought was his most powerful weapon, the Giga-Smasher. And Sho used exceed and his new blackhole power ( with a bit of help from Shin). Sho's new power turned out to be superior to Agito's, and Agito conceeded that She had what it took to protect the Earth. As for why they did not show it... Probably because he still might show it. Takaya does like flashbacks, and the aftermath of the battle might still be shown when/if Agito uses the Exceed for the first time... Or possibly if we just get some more "alone" time with Agito or Sho for them to reflect on what happened. As it is, I almost don't doubt that Takaya will probably slip over the conversation Sho and Aptom were about to have with Shin. The next scenes with Sho and Aptom will probably be them leaving, and then we will leanr what they learned during a flashback later.
  15. Despite the fact Agito's plans were to finally deal with the one person who could stand against him on possibly equal terms. He failed. Horribly. Sho really kicked his ass, despite not trying to kill him. I honestly think, Sho having won the fight, allowed Agito to let some of the weight he had been carrying, simply slip away. Allowing himself to believe that Sho could possibly do what he couldn't. And when Sho spared him ( and possibly passing the Exceed information to him), Agito probably realized how far gone he truly was. Thinking Sho was an enemy, allowing Shizu to become Griselda etc... The graves, and his reaction to Shizu later in the chapter showed an Agito that possibly regrets some of his decisions, despite how far they have gotten him. Sho basically offered Agito a truce, despite noting that he still has some issues with Agito that need to be worked out before they can become friends/allies again. Will we see a changed Agito? And if we do, how much of a changed man will he be? We will just have to wait and see.
  16. Yeah, Apollon is looking to be Murakami/Imakarum even more now. As far as to why he's collecting the Zoacrystals? He could be under the thinking that they might be a way for him to fully cure Alkanphel. As it was the last thing he mentioned, from his last appearance in the manga. Though as to why he has brought the Segawa siblings to Silha, still is unknown. Bribery to either get help from Sho or try and keep Sho out of the way? Could be either, or something else entirely...
  17. Yeah, I REALLY feel like a sucker, since I bought the collectors edition. Normally I like Gearbox... But when they admit that they had farmed the game out to a third party developer... You know it wasn't going to be top grade, despite some of the early demos and images looking fantastic. There was maybe only 2 or 3 very small moments where there was any kind of tension. I only had fun playing it, as I played it Co-Op with my brother, and naturally we made fun of the game as we played. The graphics sucked, and so did the voice acting. And as mentioned before, the plot was also lazy and very underwhelming. All it had going for it was the hype. And anyone who paid attention to early reviews knew better. This sadly SCREAMS one of the same issues Duke Nukem Forever had. 6 years ago when they started developing the game, the graphics might have been good. 4 Years ago, if it would have followed a normal game schedule, it probably would have gotten a bit better marks, but still be totally forgettable. Probably would have been a bit better if Gearbox themselves handled it... But again, farmed to a third party developer. Bringing it back into Gamestop before it devalues too much. Maybe get some of my money back. I have no sympathy for the games industry when they shovel us drenn like this.
  18. Agreed 100%. Love the manga. I'm not fully up to date on the manga at the moment ( I think a new volume just got released since I've read any), but read enough when the anime was being released to realize that, yeah, the Anime was crap in comparison. Though I did just pick up the DVD set for cheap to try and give it another go... Maybe it'll be easier to watch not having to wait a week between episodes... which was PLENTY of time to debate ever watching the show again. Though note to self - catch up on the manga.
  19. Heh... Just quickly ran the Unit-G site through google translator to try and see what I could make of his big news post, and caught this possible Gem: "Fell is currently being redesigned alkane。 But we want to seamless seamless, has a high degree of technical difficulty, redone from scratch." Could this mean he BFC-MAX figures are not finished, and just delayed due to pickyness of the designers?
  20. Well, Tekkaman Blade just got 2 figmas... So I honestly have no idea how they decide what they will make next. That being said, I hope they do more than just Guyver 1... I missed out on all but 1 of the BFC figures, and REALLY do not want to pay ebay prices to get the set of 3 Guyvers. Just Guyvers 1, 2 and 3 is all I ask. ... Ok and I guess Female Guyver 2. ... Ok and maybe Murakami. ... Ok and maybe one version of Aptom. ... Ok and maybe... You know what? I'll stop there. For now. Either way, this will be my 4th Guyver 1 figure, so even if that is all we get, at least he will fit in with the rest of the crowd.
  21. Considering it's been three years since the last... Which also included A recolor for Gignatic Exceed, and the Alkpanphel proto-type... Both of which have still not been released... I HIGHLY doubt it. Guyvers popularity has dropped back down to where it was to years before the revival in 2005. The ONLY possibility I could see, would be a Figma release ( since they did just release Tekkaman Blade and Evil... But Blade has appeared in a few video games somewhat more recently). You never know though...
  22. Damashii's are pretty awesome. They are action figures, and can be a bit more expensive than kits. But they do come fully painted and some with a ton of accessories. I don't personally own any Gundam Damashii's ( though I want to get the Wing TV set. Love the TV designs), I have Damashii figures from other series and they are a fine choice for collecting. They tend to be around the 1/144 scale, which again, is good for action figures. I will note that SOMETIMES the paint apps are a little wonky in some places, and parts can get bent in the package. But that is something any collector has to put up with. Also, I hope I didn't discourage you from trying to build a few kits. Once you get a few under your belt, you will be absolutely fine, and they will normally look much better than the Damashii's. By a couple simple ones to start off with ( the AGE-1 series and the feddie grunts from AGE are all great for starters, and are newer thus easier to get and cheap.) You just learn as you go when they throw new stuff at you ( like transforming MS). The only thing I would recommend is getting a pair of hobby clippers. Even the instruction manuals will note that you should use them. But they are like Magic for clipping parts off of the trees.
  23. Since I tend to build a lot, and rarely ever paint, I'll break down how I see the different sizes. 1/144 HG - High Grade - Smallest of the kits, but still action figure sized. Sometimes needs a lot of stickers to compensate for smaller piece sizes not being able to be molded in their own color. As well, the bonus with the 1/144's is the sheer amount of kits they release. Older kits ranging back to Gundam Wing and such require a lot more work... But more recent series ( Seed, 00 and AGE) try and make them as best looking as they can, with as little stickers as possible. One of the most popular sizes to buy because they are always show accurate in proportion and looks. The one thing about them is that the difficulty on some ( not all) can range drastically. A simple MS or Gundam can be a great startingkit... But transformable or gimmicky suits can be frustrating even for experienced kit builders. 1/144 RG - Real Grade - The "Master Grade" in 1/144 size. Only a very limited number of MS available so far... But these are pretty amazing little kits. Would recommend some 1/144 building experience before tackling them if you find one you like. 1/100 HG - High Grade - Much bigger in size to the 1/144's, they had many more piece molded in color. Some of the more simple ones only had stickers for the eyes and cameras ( very similar to the Master Grades). Sadly, AGE didn't get any 1/100's. The Seed and 00 1/100 HG's were fabulous though, as were some older series. The biggest problem with them was the fact you usually did not get many suits from a series. You'd get sometimes 2-3 1/144's released for each 1/100. So usually you got the main characters units and the occasional popular grunt. 1/100 MG - Master Grade - Only the most popular MS get MG kits... But when they do, they are usually spectacular. And I say "Usually" because they are not show accurate designs. They "updated" and "Stylized" versions of most things. Some are more show accurate than others. But when they do the improvements and get them looking much more awesome? Yeah, it's a good thing. Usually a ton more pieces and the difficulty is quite apparent from the above two releases. Stickers that are provided are usually only for eyes and cameras. Also included dry transfer decals to add further details and such that are not necessary, but can look cool. 1/60 BG - Big Grade - Not very many in this category. They are basically just HG kits in very large form. Great show pieces to be sure, and fairly easy to put together. Though they tend to suffer from the fact that they are just big HG's and do not get very many new features, if any. ( the 1/60 Strike Gundam was almost EXACTLY the same piece by piece of the 1/100 HG... Except it's hands had movable fingers) 1/60 PG - Perfect Grade - Details. OMG the details. Basically meant that if you remove armor bits, it will look like ( and technically have) moving parts underneath. Definately the highest difficulty of all the kit levels. And expensive. So you'd definitely want lots of experience before building one. Personally, for the longest time, I preferred the 1/100 HG's... Especially after a bad run in with the crappy 1/144 Wing kits... But newer series 1/144 kits have gotten so much better in quality that the 1/100 line seems to have been phased out... Which I am actually fine with now. I really am enjoying the 1/144 AGE kits ( Earth MS only... Vagan scum!... Ok I did buy the Legilis...).
  24. I'm excited and skeptical at the same time. Skeptical because of the fact season 1 was so glorious, that I don't see how it could get any better without seeming "Used" I am excited though, because of the fact the first season was so glorious, that I trust the creators to do awesome with the second season. So basically, I am conflicted for the same reason on both ends.
