1. Hey! My pants aren't that fancy! ... Ok, MAYBE the gold trim was a bit much. (j/k) Anywho, I just ( as in last night) upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S4. Some minor annoyences about some apps not being treated the same way as on my previous Galaxy Captivate... but sooo fast...
2. ...And nothing. A whole bunch of new Figma announcements, but not one shot of the Guyver 1 figma. Though, from what I saw, there wasn't much of anything of the bigger announcements from the last Wonder Festival ( like the Avengers series of figures). This weekend might've just been more about "HEY! NEW! LOOK!" Rather than upcoming releases. We can only hope.
3. I would agree... With Takaya's work ethic, and how much work he does by himself... The more he goes in depth, the longer we wait for any kind of progression. If this was a weekly series, the last two chapters would totally make sense, and would be very welcomed. But in a monthly series, that only gets 14-16 pages a month? ( most monthly series tend to go around 24-30 pages if I recall) It's really becoming more and more frustrating to be a fan of the series. I almost feel like I need to take another year or two break from the series ( which I won't of course) to come back with a fresh mind, and a bunch of new chapters to excite me all at once again. Then again, give me a week and I'll probably care more. Initial reactions are never the best reactions to judge some things by...
4. If you know anything about the comics, and have seen the ending teaser at the end of "The Wolverine", you can guess what is coming...
5. Nothing that I have heard of... Which is kind of bugging me, since there have been figma reveils since then, that have already gotten release dates. Granted, it wouldn't be the first time that a proto-type figma was shown, but never produced ( Master Asia...)... but they made such a big deal about it at the press conference, that it seems odd that they wouldn't release at least Guyver 1, even as a low run exclusive. Though it could be that the feedback for it was too little, and that its been cancelled... And that would suck.
6. A while back, I bought a "rare" ( not sure HOW rare) Guyver Out of Control art book off of Ebay. However, turned out this books pages are even bigger than the Datafile book, so using my normal scanner would not work. I finally got fed up with not being able to find a decent sized scanner, and used my digital camera to at last share the thing. Eventually I'll probably just run it to a copy shop and have them scan it properly. You will note some issues because of the flash, and the fact I don't want to flatten the book down too much. As well, you will also notice the blue pattern of my quilt around a lot of the pages. It was easiest to take the pictures with me standing over my bed. I put it in a .zip file for ease of collecting. Hopefully everyone will be able to access it. ...But it seem our forum does not want to let me upload it. So go to the link below if you'd like to download it. http://www.japan-legend.com/forum/index ... l-artbook/

8. Wheee! That was fun. Not too deep of an overall plot, but still very fun, and kick ass battle scenes. If I had anything to really complain about the movie, was that it seemed like some of the background and scientific stuff would have been better explained, it would have definately only helped the movie. Maybe another 30 minutes of exposition that wasn't just a monologue at the beginning. That being said, I never really felt "Lost" with what was going on, or felt like I wasn't sure what was happening. It's a very straightforward film. Which CAN be a negative comment... But considering some of the Mecha Anime Movies I`ve seen over the years, this was an asset, rather than a fault. It didn`t try to be Evangelion, and play with Religious themes. It didn`t try to be Gundam and go heavy on politics. It didn`t try to force unneeded comedy on people like Transformers. And it didn`t do anything "mind blowing", or do anything that would be considered `trippy`. It was a simple Giant Robot vs Giant Monster movie, with a small bit of personal tradegedy for a couple of the main characters. And you know what? That worked for me. Slowly working on a sketch of Gipsy Danger... No idea when it will ever get finished! ...Maybe I gotta go watch the movie a couple more times for inspiration... Yeah... I should do that...
9. Hardly. Condiering a very low number of people know about this site, and the fact that has been over 5 years, and with known posting habits... I'd say it may be closer to 500 - 1000 unique hits AT BEST. You have to imagine that when someone makes a post, a number of people watching the thread will go to it to find out what was posted. Then if someone replies to that post, again, more people show up to read the new post. Some people will visit the thread multiple times daily/weekly to see if someone replied to their specific post. Currently, even if a quarter of the current members have a single view for every post in the thread, that still adds up to around 7500 views. And if we're talking over 5 years, and after a large purge of members... Well I hope you see the point. After that many posts, and that many years, views don't mean anything unless the tracking system only logs one view per account. Which it doesn't. And of course there is also the fact that just because someone views the thread, it doesn't mean the LIKE it, or WANT it. If it had 10,000 unique positive POSTS, then yes maybe. Not to mention, as it is, the American anime and manga industry is only a mere shadow of itself, only leaving room for popular genre's and digital distribution. And unfortunately, a slow, aging Sci-Fi horror comic isn't one of the major popular genre's these days. 5 years ago, it was a much better time for this kind of thing. Nowadays I think Takaya is extremely lucky that he's still able to make his series ( though even he seems to be changing his style by throwing in random chibi characters in a shot or two)
10. I am jealous... Sadly I missed out during their initial run. I had the first Guyver 3 ordered... And then my local store got shut down due to bootlegging. Sadly at the time I was not ordering online like I do now. I've tried saving up to order more, as I only got the Guyver 1 1.5 image head figure due to another store randomly having it... But as I start to add up the costs, it just becomes so outrageous that I stop and buy a lot more other things. Here's hoping we get more figmas than just the Guyver 1 that was shown.
11. I'm not a big fan of "regualr" chips, but I tend to like the baked variety, though occasionally I will buy some Ruffles All Dressed or Sour Cream and Onion ( but they have issues with little flavor coating). More specifically, my favorite is Old Dutch Baked Ketchup chips. I used to eat a lot of the baked salt and viniger chips too... But after a while they caused too many problems with my teeth. I also tend to go for Doritos cool ranch, or Arriba (Old Dutch) Zesty Taco chips. Depending what I am doing, I can eat an entire large bag of chips in one sitting. Like playing video games or watching a movie, but that would happen over a couple hours. If I am having lunch or working, I tend to eat maybe half a large bag, or a regular sized bag. But it is hard to stop me when there is nacho cheese dip, or "Salsa Con Queso". I can't stop eating that stuff.
12. So who else is hyped for Pacific Rim this weekend? http://youtu.be/Ef6vQBGqLW8 Despite the early negative guessing by statisticians, early reviews seem to be pretty positive. I can't wait until Friday!
13. Since about 2002 I've had 4 cell phones... But have always kept my same phone number. 1. Some Motorola Flip phone - It was smaller, black and had an awesome orange lighted call display when it was closed. But when it's battery started to go I got a... 2. Motorala Razer V3. Loved the thing. Had it for a few years, until I shattered the glass display. While I COULD have gotten it fixed, due to our family plan I got got my next phone for free ( except with the 3 year extension contract of course) 3. iPhone 3G. Bought the weekend before the 3GS was annouced. Go me. Either way, I started to really love it, and it pretty much convinced my family to get one as well. But as I said, I got it late in its life, so it really started showing it's age 3 years later. But instead of upping simply to the iPhone 4, I decided to go to... 4. Samsung Galaxy S Captivate. My current phone. I like the Android OS more than the iOS. However, the phone is showing its age now too ( been about 2/2.5 years) and the exernal speaker doesn't always want to function. So I am now planning on updating again... And despite everything Samsung does being a total rip off of Apple ( literally, their upload program "Kies" is a very poor iTunes ripoff. But not required to put things on your phone thankfully), I'll probably go with the new Galaxy S4 ( I think that is the newest). Even if it means that I don't get to use one of those badass Iron Man phone cases that are exclusive to the iPhone 5.
14. A fan made MMPR movie? With designs like that... I might actually be interested... More concept art on the page itself, but the enclosed image was the only one posted on 4chan as of this posting... So far. mmprfilm.com *edit* That is from their facebook page too... Lots more pics there.
15. Thankfully I'm not really a loyalist gamer... I've almost all the systems over my lifetime. I go where there is games I want. I always tend to wait for the games. If there are games that are exclusive to the console that I have to have, I'll consider buying it. Heck, with the PS3 I didn't even buy one until the new model came out... ( and I think that was more for a Blu-Ray player) And even then I play it with a 360 shaped controller ( though technically it is from Batman Arkham City). I am not sure I like the changes to the XBox controller though. Looks like they went for trigger buttons closer to what is on the PS3 controller... Which are horrible. And rumble buttons? Meh. Even if the Halo TV series is available Day 1, it won't be a deal breaker for me, as everyone who has ever talked about it so far has mentioned, it'll no doubt be ripped and available via torrents moments after it airs. And the fact most of the "launch" titles we've already heard of, will probably be cross released on the 360 anyway. A trend that will probably stick around for most "AAA" titles for probably 6 months to a year. I guess the upcoming E3 might show us a few exclusives, but I doubt there will be any truly great ones. Like most I am not happy with a lot of the choices, nor will I end up using a good portion of them. But if the games are there... I will buy em. That goes for both the XBO and the PS4. And since I didn't note it before, since I am so freakin lazy, welcome back my friend!
16. Yet, it is all true. While here in Canada, we have a similar problem, it is on a smaller scale... Until more recently. Sure, we've always had "Fast Food" but in comparison, our "Large" size is the normal American "Medium" size. Sure, they still are dirt cheap, so it's easy to just buy more.
17. Hated it. My god it was garbage. I honestly do not see how people are liking it. And there is no sarcasm there. I really did not like it overall. I've heard professional critics call it the best MARVEL movie to date. They probably just don't want to be left out when Disney starts showering previews on critics they like. I'm glad the rottentomatoes.com score is dropping like crazy. Ugh. Anyway, enough ranting, I've got to sleep. Got to get up for work in 3 and a half hours. Joy. *THE NEXT MORNING EDIT* Ok, I didn't HATE it, but it certainly is my least favorite of the Marvel movies. I don't know if it was just a bad plot, or directing... Or both. My points in the spoilers though are still points that I did not like about it. That much isn't going to change. After the smart and witty first movie, and the funny but more action oriented 2nd movie... This one just feels disjointed. It tried to be funny, but didn't have the action to make up for a lot of it like the second movie did. Nor was it as smart or witty as the first. It tried to be a bit of a lot of things... Romantic Comedy/Buddy Cop/Sci-Fi Thriller/Heartwarming Family/Action movie... And it tried way too many things at once. And it just did not work for me.
18. Have I mentioned that I hate you? No? Because I hate you. Really hate you. With a burning passion I hate you. Because you did not attempt to steal one of the 1:1 armors and ship it to me! Bastard!
19. A new season is upon us, and thus a hoarde of new shows. So, what are you watching? Surprisingly, there is a few series this season that I actually am watching. Majority are mecha shows ( 3 of em! Wow!), but one is not. Valvrave the Liberator - Sunrise's mecha show for the season. At the time of writing I think only episode 1 is out, but so far it seems decent. Another " Young boy ends up in powerful mecha" series. Definately more on the serious side of the spectrum, but not Grim/Dark... so far. The Valrave itself is kinda odd looking, but is still a humanoid design. Judging from the episode and the opening however it looks like other mechs take a much more different styled approach, which if they look good can really be refreshing. Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet - This one I am liking only from the first 2 episodes. Basic plot is the "Futuristic Mecha and Pilot get transported to low technology area." trope but so far the characters seem pretty good, and the main character is kind of stoic, but he doesn't even speak their language so his mech does it for him. He's also kind of young and the opening kind of hints that he starts to lighten up. It feels like it will be a series with "heart"Plus his mech already looks kind of Chibi, which is awesome. Majestic Prince - I'm surprised I like this one as much as I do. Some of the mecha designs are kinda odd looking but not bad, and of course the "Hirai face" issue. However, the series isn't just serious, and has a bunch of humor as well. Especially when the main character draws and wants to be a toku hero. Basic premise is that there is Aliens attacking Earth/Colonies/Bases and Earth defenses aint all that great. Enter the "MJP" a special military organization that bred and raised 5 teenagers ( maybe more) to pilot state of the art mecha to fight the aliens. However these teenagers were allowed their own personalities and such so they all have issues... Mostly hilarious. Attack on Titan - Not too sure about this one... It seems very Grim/Dark despite the fact I know the first episodes are about the main character before he becomes what they show in the opening. Basically, there are being known as Titans. Something like 15 meter tall naked cavemen, who eat people. The city of people has a 50 meter wall stopping the titans from entering... Until something breaks open one of the walls and the titans enter. The plot itself seems pretty original ( but then that is just me), but I don't know how Grim/Dark they will go with the series. That much may bne a bit of a turn off, but still willing to give it a shot. So, what are you watching?
20. Possible? Yes, definately. Takaya has plenty of material enough to do a second season, even without catching up to where he currently is. I remember writing up a brief guideline of how I think it would play out episode wise... Wonder if that post is still around... *edit* Nope. D'oh! But as pointed out by Lordspleach, everyone practically thought the new series would be as bloody as the old OAV, especially with ADV saying it was "The new face of ultra violence"... And turned out to not be "Ultra violent" at all. It took the one thing the OAV was fondly remembered for, and never followed through... Though it being a TV series rather than an OAV probably had a lot to do with that. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype or expectations of the studios. And remember, ADV Films paid a lot of money to try and kickstart the Guyver revival ( I think they said it was around $700,000+) So unless another wealthy company/person wants to gamble their money on it, I doubt we'll see another season. Hell, if I won a few million dollars in the lottery ( well, maybe more than 10+) I would totally do it. But I am still waiting on my lucky numbers!
21. Update! Current and still growing cast list from Bryan Singer! L-R: Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Erik Lensherr), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Peter Dinklage (Unknown Villain), Halle Berry (Storm), Ellen Page (Shadowcat), Shawn Ashmore (Bobby Drake), Omar Sy (unknown), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus), Fan Bingbing (Blink), Booboo Stewart (unknown).
22. I wish I had half the drive to draw as much as her and Aiuke/Ladena... ( I follow both on DA) Sure some of the subject matter isn't fully up my alley, but it's still Guyver. Very good looking Guyver material. And I will always like that... despite the Yaoi-ish themes sometimes.
23. All we really know for certain is that a LOT of the cast from ALL previous X-Men movies have already signed on... Including Patrick Stewart, Ian Mckellan, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, almost the entire cast from "First Class" and more. It's going to be a massive movie. And the "Days of Future Past" is a classic comic story from decades ago involving the future and extermination of mutants. Edit: I guess I should note as well, that this is not X-Men 4. It is X-Men First Class 2... Which is basically X-Men 5
