Christian Bale not reprising his role as Batman.
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in Japanese Entertainment
WB and DC's "Arrow" is the current biggest superhero thing on TV (much more popular than Agents of SHIELD), so much that it even spun off a show about the Flash, and now probably the Atom. it is basically green Arrows story, mixed a bit with Batman lore to keep it a bit darker... and most likely since an actual Batman show would have been rejected due to the Nolan movies at the time. None of the current shows have anything to do with Smallville. "the Atom" / Ray Palmer is the DC "super shrinking" guy. Your thinking "Ant man" / Hank Pym, who is marvel's super shrinking guy and the guy who created Ultron. Though the Atom can shrink far more than Ant man. And no, the TV Arrow/Flash/Atom (and upcoming Supergirl) will NOT be apart of the new DC movie franchise... Much to a lot of fans disappointment. They are their own thing, but since WB owns all of DC, they can choose to have 2 different universes if they so desire. -
Christian Bale not reprising his role as Batman.
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in Japanese Entertainment
1. He meant Michael Keaton 2. Lex Luthor is Superman's #1 villian. Human, Rich, a genius. He's basically an evil/corrupt version of Tony Stark, who is jealous of Superman and power hungry. And has made many suits of power armor over the decades. The guy you are thinking of is: Wilson Fisk "The Kingpin", and he is also from Marvel and not DC. Lex Luthor is Superman's #1 enemy of all time, and is also a bald, rich badguy... But not nearly as huge as the Kingpin is made out to be by some artists. Their big difference, is that Fisk is a crime boss, and Luthor is a businessman. (A very corrupt and evil business man at that) 3. Daredevil is a blind human with enhanced senses who fights crime, and is also a lawer. He belongs to marvel, and is getting a new series on Netflix. He was also played by Ben Affleck in a live action movie. Daredevil will not be in the Batman v Superman movie (again, he is a Marvel character), but Ben Affleck who has PLAYED Daredevil in a movie already, is Batman in the new movie. -
Christian Bale not reprising his role as Batman.
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in Japanese Entertainment
Bale had said long before the casting for the new movie that he was pretty much done. This "Part of me would still do it" thing is only a recent thing that was said. And besides, this is NOT Nolan's Batman that is in Batman V Superman. Nolan's Batman was grounded in reality, and there were no "Super" heroes in his world. Bale did his part, and did his trilogy. And he ended it fine. They are going in a totally new direction with this cinematic universe, and need someone who might stick around for one or two more AFTER this one. I doubt Bale would have done any more than one. Plus I'd prefer it that if this movie fails, that Nolan's trilogy remains unscathed. And don't go knocking Affleck for "Ruining everything he touches". His last few movies were really well done, and critically acclaimed for both his acting and directing. Won a few award for them as well. He had a bit of a rough spot there (the J-Lo years), but that seems to have moved on. ( and I could probably find plenty of examples of Bale doing shitty in a movie. Terminator: Salvation, and his most recent one as Moses, to name two...) I'm staying cautious about the entire movie and DC cinematic universe, as they don't have the more solid starting that Marvel had... And quite clearly are trying to jump on the bandwagon... When it is already well up to speed. So currently, whether or not Affleck will be good in the movie is one of the LEAST concerns we should have about the movie. -
No, U. S. Renditions allowed for the nudity scene to appear in its entirety with their English dubbed version of the Guyver OVA series. An episode preview video clip, showing images of the un-cut scene, can be found in the Guyver OVA - Episode Guide section of the Guyver Solution Web site. However, I do not recall in seeing a preview clip of the last episode having been released by Manga Entertainment in their VHS distribution version. I always thought that Manga has just straight up used the US Renditions dub and remastered it. Surprising they removed it, as Manga has released many titles with much more nudity than that. The DVDs have also seemingly removed the next episode previews entirely from all the episodes as well, and I can't remember if my VHS tapes had them or not. If only I could go back in time to my old video store that had the US Renditions version... Though they WERE missing the last volume... The important one to the discussion. Sadly why I saw all the US Renditions versions, except the last 2 episodes.

Search for the original English dubbed version distributed by U. S. Renditions. It should not be too difficult to find. Wasn't that version still the edited version? I thought it was...

I don't understand why Guyver doesn't do so well
Matt Bellamy replied to Mirabilis's topic in Guyver
I am going to guess that there might have been talk about it, or at least putting the characters in a fighting game or something back in 2005... But games take a lot of time, and the 2005 tv series was not the hit that they wanted. But Guyver is an old "classic" by some standards. Surely still has some popularity, right? I mean, for example, take a game called Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom (which was actually brought over here). It has old Tatsunoko anime characters thrown in with Capcom characters... Including an old favorite of mine, Tekkaman Blade... but ALSO including the original Tekkaman as well. You'd think, "Hey, Guyver is just as old, and even had a new series, why not add him? or do something similar?" Probably all due to character rights. Blade was probably thrown in there because of his rights already being owned by the big parent company who was teaming with Capcom. Guyver's videogame rights are probably not part of a big parent company, and would require purchasing of the rights to be used in something. Now this could be as simple as "Too much money" or "Another company is sitting on the rights". Could be any number of reasons. Other than the fact, the Guyver never really was all that popular of a franchise to begin with. -
He didn't think of Sho as an ally. At all. For the longest time. It was only recently in the Manga that he realized how bad he had gotten. He used Sho as a test bed for all the Guyvers abilities. Letting him take all the damage, and get in all the danger. With Agito's plans, if the Unit had only reformed itself as a unit, he probably put himself in a place where he could reacquire the unit if that were the case. Turns out, it reforms the host too. So he gained some temporary help, until he too betrays them later.
-
*edit* Apparently it DOES exist. ------------ This is why the Manga Entertainment DVDs from a few years back, have 2 different versions of the last episode. Back in the day, they only dubbed the censored/cut version, and never did the uncut episode. So when they did a dual language release, they specifically added the uncut Japanese subbed version. It is only 20 seconds of footage that was removed though.

Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer...

While I think the coloring is a little weird, I really do like the contours and design of the armor. And I guess that makes the Hulkbuster the Mk 44. -

Whoops! I think I screwed up the Fusion dance slightly... Both Xenoverse topics are now one! (even if I did it backwards!) -
Dragon Ball Xenoverse: Opinions?
Matt Bellamy replied to Matt Bellamy's topic in Japanese Entertainment
How good is the customization system any ways? Is there a lot to work with as far as variety goes? The options include, but are slightly different numbers for each race and Gender: Hair - Usually 10+ styles Eyes - Around 10 Pupils - about 6-8 Nose - About 6-8 (including no nose! lol) Chin/Mouth - About 10 Ears - About 4-6 Voice - About 10 Body Height - 4 options Body Width - 3 options And a whole lot of color options for hair, eyes and skin colors. So really, a lot of variety. -
I can't believe I bought a Dragonball Z game at full price. And I can't believe I am actually enjoying it. This is the second DBZ game to have the Custom Character creation, but this ones is much more customizable, and you can choose multiple races and genders. Each race also has at least 10 hair designs, different faces, eyes, even a few different ear types. The races included are: Human (Male/Female) Saiyan (Male/Female) Majin (Male/Female) Namekian (Male) Freiza's Race (Male) The only issue I have with this system, is the way the game handled body types. You can't choose to be a thin Majin ( unless your female), and have to be the fat version. With other races, changing your height, literally just makes the character model bigger or smaller. There is a second option to make the wider. It's not a height or weight increase, just simply stretching the models. I wanted to make a shorter character, but it ended up looking more awkward since the proportions do not change along with the height. (It's like having a 1/100 Gundam kit standing beside a 1/144. The proportions are exactly the same, just smaller.). You only really notice it more with the Humans and Saiyans, as they are more common body types. That being said, it is ages better than the previous game that tried custom characters. While playing, you can earn experience, and put stat points into stats that you want. Want more melee attack? done. Want your normal energy attacks to be stronger? Can do. Need more Health, Ki or Stamina? Done, Done and done. The combat it much more toned down from previous games, and is basically a button masher for Melee, without annoying button combinations for special moves. Your equipped move list is brought up by the R trigger, and pressing any of the 4 normal buttons will activate a selection (assuming you have the Ki for it). "Ultimate" moves have a separate list which is brought up by holding both the L and R triggers. The thing is, the game is not a fighting game. It is an action game based on a fighting series... And the format here works really well. The battles (which can have up to 6 characters... and can range anywhere form 3v3 to 5v1) feel a lot more like in the show, and the arena's can be quite big, so you can really cover a lot of ground by fighting. There's destructible landscape, but not as much as you would expect, given the series. As it is a customizable character, you can equip a variety of clothing pieces and skills that are from the DBZ universe ( and some originals. Mainly clothing). You can get, Body, arms, legs and feet pieces of every character in the game, as well as some characters that do not even appear in the game ( like a some clothing from Dragonball characters like Emperor Pilaf and Commander Red). Unfortunately, there is only a limited few outfits that you can customize the colors for. Basically, anything from an actual character, cannot be changed, Although you do get some generic outfits later like a basic Turtle Hermit Gi, that can be changed. The original outfits you do get however, are not bad, and still look pretty good. All the clothing can also help buff/debuff some of your basic stats There is also an accessories slot for some random it's from Dragonball lore. Like a scouter, sword, hat or even wigs. No stat boosts, just for fun. Skills are a mixture of everything that characters can do in Dragonball... From Ki attacks, to melee combos, powering up, or defensive/Evasion skills. You can equip 4 "Supers", which are the more basic attacks, and only use 1 ki bar to pull off. "Ultimates" require 3 bars, and tend to have a special short cut-scene before use. You can only equip 2 ultimate attacks, and 1 evasive/Defensive. You can mix and match whatever you like. Be all melee, just have energy attacks... From Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo AND Frieza all at once. The campaign is based around time travel. You get chosen by Shenron to help them out. Future Trunks is your boss. There seems to be someone going around and changing history, and someone has to stop it. The campaign missions have some really nicely done CG cut scenes. I should mention here, that you can change the voices to Japanese, as well as English... But any text and name will remain in English ( ie they will say "Mr. Satan, but will read as Hercule). Here's the basic example of a campaign mission: You see Raditz fighting Goku and Piccolo. Gohan tries his rage attack, but something powers up Raditz, and Gohan misses, thus Raditz doesn't take the damage from him, and Raditz kills Gohan. Goku and Piccolo attempt the "Special Beam Cannon" with Goku trying to hold Raditz in place as usual... But Raditz is now too powerful and breaks the hold, meaning Goku takes the hit and dies, but Raditz doesn't. Raditz then kills Piccolo. You warp in just before that all starts. Gohan still misses, but you save Gohan, and join the fight against Raditz, in order to weaken him for the normal ending. Piccolo wonders where you went. This is the kind of thing you do in the campaign. Bad guys get powered up, the fight drastically changes... You come in a bit earlier than the scene you just watched, and try to make it end properly. It SOUNDS repetitive, but it is very interesting to see the changes they make. Then you get introduced to the characters making the changes, and you get some original missions. Along with the campaign, there are "Parallel Quests" that you can do that change things up even more. Like fighting alongside Frieza and defeating the good guys, or Beating up the entire Ginyu force. Repeatedly. Training missions, fighting big fights from the series etc... Some really fun missions. But it is sadly linked to one of the worst parts of the game. You know all those clothing and skills I told you about? The majority are unlocked RANDOMLY from certain missions. Each mission has a list of stuff available in it... But it is almost completely random what you get... And you sometimes get nothing, or a piece of clothing you already have. Thankfully you cannot get copies of the skills. There are stores where you can buy some of them, but you have to play through further in the campaign to start unlocking them. IE: the Super Saiyan ability does not unlock in the store until after you beat the cell games story missions. It appears in the Parallel quest when Goku turns Super Saiyan... But you just might not be lucky enough to get it. There is as well a "Mentor System" in which you can learn some skills from characters. This is actually an easier... But longer way to get some new skills... But they give you a lot of stuff not available elsewhere. Things like Vegetas Final Flash, or Goku's Kamehameha Ultimate attacks can only be acquired through them. Each mentor has 4 levels, and each level gives you an ability. To unlock the next level, you need to 1. Use that ability and 2. Fight along side your mentor. This is pretty easy to do as you can choose 2 helpers when doing offline Parallel Quests. The harder the missions, the quicker they level up ( I believe it is tied to how much exp you get). Each time you need to fight the mentor for the new skill. Once you have their Ultimate skill, if you do not choose a new mentor right away, you can randomly use a boosted version of that skill, and your mentors silhouette will show up with you as you use it, giving it a boost in strength. Unfortunately, the mentor system is locked via level caps... Some mentors cannot be used until you reach certain levels and/or have mastered another mentor. The majority are unlocked before level 30 I believe (Cell being unlocked at 30)... But Goku needs level 70 for some reason. As well, during Parallel Quests, your mentor will sometimes show up if you are having trouble, and become an NPC fighter to help out. The BEST thing though? Online Co-Op for Parallel Quests, and battling. Co-Op can improve almost ANY game. This is true with this as well. It makes a Mediocre Fan Service game, into a Good Fan service game. There is some DLC coming as well, including new campaign and parallel missions from Dragonball GT, as well as new characters and mentors. Overall, while there are some issues, it has a lot of promise, and a lot of it could be tweaked or improved in a sequel. Still, a very fun purchase if you are a Dragonball Z fan, and want something new, but a little simpler than just a fighting game.

Well, this was from the Ultimates Universe, and not the main (616 universe). Everyone in that universe was a much more extreme version of themselves. Stark and Black Widow actually got engaged, (he paid thousand of people from her home country to form out the letters for "Will you marry me?" so she could see it from the sky) but she only really wanted his money and possibly access to his tech ( he did make her a suit of armor). While the Cinematic universe does borrow some design from the Ultimates universe ( ie the Ultimates Nick Fury having used Sam Jackson as a model for his design, is the reason why Sam Jackson is Nick Fury in the cinematic universe), they did not use the much darker tone of all the characters. Her betrayal of Hawkeye certainly was shocking, but he thankfully got his revenge by putting an arrow in her head. I stopped reading the Ultimates after they changed the writers and artist... but they really played with the characters... Captain America - used guns in the past ( similar to his movie version), and is a really brutal combat specialist. Breaking bones and limbs for sure, but would not be shaken at all if he killed an opponent. Iron Man - His whole body is his brain, and he drinks all the time to dull the pain. Also has a brain tumor., so him joining the Ultimates is kind of like a death wish for him. Much like Cap, they gave him a different edge... but not all THAT different. Thor - A hippyish thunder god, who people couldn't decide if he was delusional or not ( the whole second story arc was Loki making everyone BELIEVE he really was). Turns out, he really is the God of Thunder. Hawkeye - Seemed like a normal dude with a bow... until he was captured and removed his own fingernails to use as projectiles to kill his captors. Black Widow - Biologically enhanced Russian assassin. Traitor, and a bitch. Hulk/Banner - the Hulk speaks a lot more... but only like a dumb bruiser would. Banner was constantly looked down upon by most everyone and is very nerdy. His Hulk transformation was triggered by the "Super Soldier serum" that he was trying to create. Near the end of Volume 2 though, he was under a bit more control of the hulk. Enough to focus the hulk on who to smash at least. Hank Pym/Giant Man - Wife beater with anger issues. Still a genius who created the particle ability to grow, shrink, and control ants. Then he used the ants to attack his wife. Cap beat the crap out of him for it ( even while he was giant) Janet van Dyne/Wasp - Actually a mutant if I remember correctly, but publicly was "created" by Hank Pym (since Mutants are still hated here too). And apparently had a few insect tendencies ( like molting if I remember correctly). Dated Cap for a while after Hank used the ants on her. Scarlet Witch - her power was refereed to as `Adjusting Possibilities`. She could make low percentage chance of something happening, become much higher ( like say an entire army of Asgardian warriors and Thor returning to fight Loki). Quicksilver - Really. Really. REALLY deadly fast. Much faster than normal comics quicksilver is said to be. Used the friction from his speed to liquidate another "speedster" So yeah. Definitely different.

Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer...

Falcon? I didn't see him in the trailer... Unless I missed something? -
I wouldn't say that it would boost their intelligence, but it does seems to help them strategically with its multitude of senor abilities and its own basic instinct. For example, in the 2005 TV series, where Sho and Tetsuro are brought to the warehouse, and the gun accidentally goes off while aimed in Tetsuro's direction. The unit recognized the threat, towards Tetsuro, who is Sho's friend, and destroyed it. Sho wasn't in control of the situation, but the unit was able to react for him. I assume in some other cases, this might be how it taught Sho how to use it. Momentarily taking control of him in order to do something, or use a weapon that Sho does not know of yet. We do know the unit is alive, but seems to be more instinct, rather than sentience. I.E. Sense threat -> Destroy Threat using best ability available. Overkill guaranteed. For example, Megasmasher vs Vamore. Who could have just as easily been taken out by a quick head shot from the head beam. Finesse is not in the units strong point. Completely obliterating the threat certainly is. And it seems to try and react "In kind" depending on the threat. Like when the unit first bonds with Sho. All Gregore does it try grabbing it, and it responds by grabbing back. Then over powering. It could have easily fired off its head beam and finished Gregore off in an instant. Or with Synevite and using the HF swords. Melee vs Melee. So basically whenever Sho is against something that the unit can counter, and Sho doesn't know about, it'll probably just take over and do it, to protect itself and it's host, all the while showing the host a new ability. It probably played a big part in Sho using the Exceed as well. But as for making them more intelligent? Not necessarily. Does it make them more strategic? Mentally? Probably not. But it certainly helps in a lot of situations. Unless you count being tossed into a war with an international company who now controls the entire world, forcing them to learn how to survive, and create tactics to basically survive (and turns out, Sho is very adept at doing so!)

Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer...
Matt Bellamy replied to jerrygoodman's topic in General 'whatever'.
Here's the trailer right from Marvel's Youtube channel. Pretty awesome... And most likely the last trailer for it that I will watch. Already getting way too spoiled... http://youtu.be/JAUoeqvedMo My favorite part? The short showing of the new Iron Man armor. Pay attention to the right side of the screen when Thor says " Is that the best you can do?". -
I am going to guess that they are unlicensed... but still look pretty cool. You can see more of them at their facebook site: https://www.facebook.com/ksouldesigerstoy

Well. Seems the Vimeo one is down again. As of this posting anyway.

I doubt it would lead to a fight. More likely Sho would teleport in, and see Tetsuro and Mizuky are fine, and would probably lead to dialogue rather than fighting. It's not Sho's nature to just jump in, guns blazing. My guess, is we might get some truth about who Apollon is, and what his plans might be.
-
Indeed it is.
