Matt Bellamy

Apparently it is in one of the special features on the new Dark Hero Bluray.

I started the One Piece anime way back when, and then moved to the manga and never looked back. The filler episodes and arcs the anime adds always rubs me the wrong way. Was the same with Bleach and Naruto back in the day. Nowadays series can get away with not having to be on every week and can take tine off if need be.

I've been keeping up with a couple series... But there have been so many series come out that I have been reading the manga... And the Anime version does a piss poor job of it. The one I am looking forward to is coming next Month: PSYREN. Read that manga thanks to NA release of Shonen Jump. 19 years after it started and 16 years after it ended, they are making an anime of it. I REALLY hope they don't screw it up. Since there is no light novel version or anything, it is based on the manga, so hopefully it will be what I want it to be. But as for what I am watching right now... Oddly, all of these were manga I started reading that have now been turned into anime. Some for the better, and some not. There are a few more series I had been reading the comics of at one point... But the Anime's quality was not nearly good enough, so I am not ruining my thoughts of the series with watching the trash animation. Tensei ****ara Slime Datta Ken 4th Season / That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season - The anime has caught up with the manga again, but of course, as mentioned, it is based on light novels so there is more to work off of... But the Anime has largely been following the aesthetic of the manga. One of those that has been doing a good job of it. I never read the novels, so any changes doesn't bother me much. Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu / Skeleton Knight in Another World Season - Another fun isekai fantasy story. Can be a dime a dozen, but this one has some fun characters and a decent enough premise that also skips some of the worst isekai tropes. The main character is so OP... and yet not at the same time, in some funny ways. Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru / From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman - This one has been following the light novels a bit more than the manga, but not as bad as some. Really good action. They do take the "Sword master" fact of the title pretty seriously. Tsuihou sareta Tensei Juukishi wa Game Chishiki de Musou suru / The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System - This one has been doing a good job of following the manga overall, and has decent production values. Another Isekai with some good ideas on how things are handled. Ryoumin 0-nin Start no Henkyou Ryoushu-sama / The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects - Another manga I started reading a while back. Been done pretty well. It's a fun little wholesome series.

I liked it, but I certainly enjoyed No Way Home more... But I think that was more due to the tonal shift and different stakes. And there were some plot points I thought didn't work that well as could have used a bit more work instead of simply almost shrugging it off like it was suddenly not a problem... But in general, the heart and core of the movie was great. The MCU "hero" characters in this one didn't feel as organic, as explaining who they were and why they were this way in the movie weren't really explained well enough. Almost felt like an alternate reality universe that is close to the MCU main timeline, but different.

I am liking the fact that both X-Factor and Havok are in this season. Always loved him in the comics and we only got a very short cameo version of him the original series.

I may, or may not, have the power. To be fair, it is a gift for my brothers birthday, so maybe he has the power? He's a bigger He-man fan than I am, as he actually collects MOTU figures.

Since this post has been brought back up now... Here's the updated image of my Guyver collection... Since I completed the BFC Max line completely, and of course the newer Figma Guyver 1 and 1/6th scale Guyver 1. Also picked up some more of the trading figures... and also got the Guyver Unit DVD case with the rare figure from it. Had to have new glass shelves made and hangers to put them on to fit the rest of the collection.

Goodsmile has offically now put up the re-release for preorder! Now's your chance to get him for retail price! Pre-order is now open, and runs until May 6th, 2026! With an expected release date in November 2026! So far, only Goodsmile and Goodsmile US sites have it up. don't know if other distributors will get in on it yet. Please note, the prices and release dates are different for Goodsmile US, due to importing fees and the time it takes to import the stock. If you want any of the figures quicker, use the Japanese site to order from. though of course it will likely cost a bit more in shipping and fees. The exhibition is on and we already got a full gallery of the figures and displays. Apparently they did not allow photos of the original artwork display. Go here for the full gallery: https://hobby.dengeki.com/event/2943620/

Max Watanabe posted a couple images from the exhibit early as they are setting up still. Most importantly, the 1/6th Guyver 3 returns! Shame it isn't in color... But at least it's still being shown!

We have gotten our first early color image release of the new Guyver 3 Figma. It still says Pending, so we're likely still around 6 or so months before we hear about a pre-order... but they could also rush this one out too... So normal routines may not apply. But they are really getting everything ready to make the new 40th anniversary event stand out.

They keep on adding new merch too... Now there is a plush/pillow Guyver unit...

Gigantic Dark is officially Figma #680...! Which means we could see a much earlier release date than most of us ever hoped for, since Guyver Gigantic is Figma #671! The official Max Factory site already has a listing for Figma #681 with a release date of December... While that doesn't mean they release them in order... It's usually not too far off as the page translation says pre-order is coming soon! So they might be waiting for the new 40th Anniversary event for it's official pre-order and release date announcement.

A short video released by Max Factory advertising the re-release of the Guyver 1 Ultimate Edition Figma at the upcoming 40th Anniversary Event seems to suggest that the new Figma of Gigantic Dark might not be too far behind...

From Steve Wang himself...!

My god. Actual tears. Just for a teaser.

Completely forgot to check! Next up is Waferdanos!

Could be a legacy thing or a contract they have with Takaya. The website does show them doing this a lot, so they might also just not want to let anything go, no matter how successful or dead the series is. The paranoid part of you might also be correct... Something that is also interesting about Japanese Trademark Law, is that if nothing is done with a license after 3 years of inactivity, someone else can appeal and see about getting the Trademark revoked. And now we are getting new Figma figures... That is taking more than a year, if not more than 2 years for each figure... We randomly get an artbook with zero new artwork... They might just be doing them for that reason... But at least when they do release them, they are of high quality and sell well.

As of December 15th, 2025, Kadokawa has renewed the Trademark rights for Guyver. This is something that has to be done every 10 years in Japan... Which the last time they did it, the Manga was actually still being published. https://chizai-watch.com/t/2025139888?q=kadokawa&d=20251215&a=株式会社KADOKAWA It's a bit of interesting news that doesn't actually tell us anything about what is going on with the Manga... Only that Kadokawa is still invested in owning the franchise and controlling what various products can use it.

You usually don't have to pay when you pre-order, and only pay when it is ready to ship. I think there is exceptions for some payment apps that you might have to pay at pre-order, but I didn't have to when I ordered my Guyver 1's.

Right!?! I may only be getting one of these, which fortunately is enough because I use Amiami and they are only allowing 1 per customer.
