  1. More information on the Langrisser Mobile X Guyver game collaboration... Trailers for Guyver 1, 3 and Archanphel... That shows that the Gigantic's... AND Exceed are used in the game. And they are adorable Chibi as hell. I mean, it is still a shame it is a gatcha style game for getting characters... so you could probably spend a hundred or two and still not get the character you want... But at least the scenes and chibi designs look cool... Trailers for each character: Guyver 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MW_K4kMauY Archanphel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zER7t9KdcMc Guyver 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tepOReDbU4 However thankfully someone posted a whole set of the Chibi images on reddit, though no source provided... but now we get to see the designs in their full adorable GLORY.
  2. Yeah, this one seems much more streamlined. Removing some bits, smoothing out some of the rougher edges and making generally easier to play. But that is what sequels can do sometimes. I have 100% the city, but am still a few trophies short of platinum... And I don't really care to put in the effort. I generally found the combat much easier... but that is because of the added powers that Peter also has now, that Miles was given in his game. They had to balance him out and now both have gadgets and special powers that regenerate pretty quickly... And only get quicker when you buy upgrades. Plus, I am kind of the opposite than you... When a side quest pops up, I try and do it ALL before I move on. So I leveled up VERY quickly and later fights against general mooks just seemed so easy... While bosses were still a little tough because I never used the new parry move, but I fought through them with the powers and gadgets. Plus I reacted to every time a crime popped up... Which isn't as limited like in the first game. They pop up TOO often in my opinion... But they did help me level up even quicker. Overall, not as good as the first I don't think. Still really good, but the first game really caught lightning in a bottle. Part of me thinks it is because of the dilution of characters time because you have the main story, but then Peter and Miles stuff... So the main story kind of gets side tracked and you don't go to in depth as much (like Peters relationship with Dock Ock in the first game vs his relationship in #2 with Harry)... And Miles doesn't even really have a proper villain of his own to deal with. Also, they need to stop with the Mary Jane missions. Good god they were boring in the first... But now she is basically a super hero as she takes out trained killers easier than Spider-man can (Angry Joe's review helps highlight this hilariously). I hated how they made her a reporter in this universe to begin with, but now she is basically a Silver Sable knock off.
  3. Everyone see this suit for Miles? Guyver much?
  4. I have that one! It's a nice solid figure. Not 100% perfect transformation... But that is kind of what makes it so solid. I can't seem to find the ****pit cover though... >_<
  5. Replying in a post that was over 10 years old, to a user that has not even visited the site since 2014. Even if they were answering a question, it was basically pointless by this point, and almost practically spam. It'd be different if it was to a member who was still active within the past year or such. If they wanted to show off the images, or talk about it, it would have been a lot better to create a new post, which might have gotten more interaction/engagement or increase discussion about the topic, instead of tracking down a comment that is a reply to a main post from 2012.
  6. Please don't necropost topics that are many years ( over 10 in this case.) old. Topic locked.
  7. An interview was posted with Yoshiki Takaya, Max Watanabe and Yoshihito Kobayashi about the upcoming (very expensive) 1/6th scale Guyver 1 figure. https://animageplus.jp/articles/detail/54325/1/1/1 Nothing is said about the manga sadly. During the interview, even Takaya thinks it might be a bit too expensive... But the idea that Max Watanabe wants to make figures from Dark Hero of the Guyver and Guyver Zoanoid? That is a pretty neat!
  8. I know the author has mentioned it once on the Guyver facebook groups, but has long been pushed down from new posts. Will make more sense to talk about it when it has a release date or is out.
  9. Happy X-Day everyone! It is the anniversary of the day our great and beloved Leaders of Cronos brought down the corrupt World of the past, and shone their light upon us to show us the way! Truly, we have never been so blessed to have such Divine beings watch over and protect us from ourselves! Let's give praise to our glorious Leaders, who rid the world of Hunger, War and the differences in society that kept us from coming together, and finally show that we are of one people! - This statement is approved by the Cronos Corporation
  10. That is not a new images, that image is from 1987. It says so in the text just to the right of it. There is sadly no new images past 2016. The books states 1985-2023... But there literally is no art newer than the pages/cover from 2016.
  11. I think Onlyfans frowns on illegal public displays of nudity... Which she seems to do all the time.
  12. My Shonen Ace issues were a little delayed, but finally arrived, and I got my posters in very good condition. Thankfully monthly manga volumes are freaking THICC and sturdy as hell, so there was no damage. I hoped and prayed that there might be some more Guyver info, but sadly, it was all just promoting the Artbook... But I only bought it for the poster anyway. Here it is with the A4 paper sized artbook for reference.
  13. According to the book that is a cover from Shonen Captain Comics Volume 2/Cover from Dec 1986. That's one of the nice things about the book. It states where it was originally used.
  14. They're here! And honestly, it is what I expected... But I am still a bit disappointed. It's mostly all the manga covers and such over the years un-obstructed by the title text and the like, and some that got cut off to fit on a page or for a 2 page spread (there are no 2 page spreads here. They were flipped on their side to fit on one page) Beautiful to look at for sure. Just not a lot of substance. I know I shouldn't have expected something like the Visual Data Files book... But I am still glad I got it. Would have been even better with a HD digital scan. ...also, mine came slightly damaged. The top left corners are bent. Not happy about that at all.
  15. Mine are arriving on Friday. I also ordered the Sept issue of Shonen Ace just to get the poster.
  16. There are certainly a number of factors... But bad marketing certainly doesn't help it... As well as the content... And the hiatus' over the years... Guyver is a very old series, almost 40 years old... And yes, for those of us who have read and followed it, we love it... But Anime trends have come and gone... And the current trends do not mesh with the Guyver's old style, and they haven't for a while now. Today's anime demographic is focused on different kinds of series... And Shonen Ace is full of these other series that are basically trash, but trash people like because of various reasons (I have been known to read some of them... ). The simple facts that Kadokawa has kept Guyver alive, and that Max Factory is still releasing new figures doesn't make ANY logical sense... But here we are... And we are so very lucky. When the pre-order for the new Figma went up, I posted it in a Facebook group that is about 70's, 80's and 90's anime. Lots of positive feedback and over 1000 likes... but only about 50 or so people said they were pre-ordering it. People remember Guyver, yes. But most of them do not even know if they still like it... Or even like it enough to read almost 32 volumes of free manga to try and catch up. Hell, most don't even know all 3 animated versions can be found on just Youtube alone...
  17. The Visual Data Files book was not an art book! It was a Visual Data file book!
  18. That right folks! Kadokawa is releasing a new Guyver artbook, that is up for pre-order on their official site, with a release date in July. Their official site in purely in Japanese, so I will keep this updated if someone finds an easier place to pre-order.
  19. He was spotted again! Once again Max Watanabe took a picture together with him.
  20. Yeah, the shinyness of the figure is one of the complaints I have seen... But also the big one, is the weird seem line down the sides of the head. It makes no sense to be there.
  21. I bought 2 directly from the Goodsmile page, but I am not the type to keep figures in boxes. Always have to have one in the one smasher open with the blade out on the other arm... And the other can have the alt head/hand combo.
  22. Be careful with the sarcasm, m,kay. No one ever knows when someone doesn't or does know. And expect you might be corrected again, because you are literally wrong. M,kay.
  23. It's not a "damaged" head. The figure comes with the separate head and hand piece to recreate this classic image.
  24. The pre-orders are up! https://www.goodsmileus.com/product/figma-guyver-1-ultimate-edition-10337 Remember! Figures like this only go up in price on the secondary market, and places do run out of stock pretty quickly. If you want it, this will be the cheapest it will ever be!
  25. You should really be sketching out the basic body form and adding worrying about line art later. There are a million tutorials out there, but as long as you practice, you will find your own way of doing things. I can't stress this enough. I also remember pointing out the small tutorials from one of our old friends fan site in another topic, which does not look like you are using. Honestly, I really think you are trying to rush drawing... And you really can't. If you are trying to get a concept down, being a little lazy and tracing isn't neccisarily "bad", but per your title of "Getting back into drawing", it sounds like you want to DRAW and not TRACE. And in this case, your first images are still better, in my eyes, than the traced image. Drawing what you envision isn't easy, and if you're not understanding the fundamentals of drawing humanoid characters, you might as well be jumping into a lake without knowing how to swim. Yeah, you may get something that might somewhat resemble what you want... Or you will just drown and give up. So I will say this. I am very willing to help... But if you are not willing to put the effort in, there will be nothing I can help you with. On top of all of that... Part of things to worry about as well, considering you are using Guyver as a medium, is also learning about the Guyver, and how the armor works. For example, even on the traced image, currently, I have no idea what the sonic orbs on the face are doing in any of your images. They are just floating in the middle of a blank mass ( and in color, just a bright orange mass. Go look at the official Guyvers. On every Guyver but Guyver 1, there is armor plates being bent around them, with clear distinctions that show off some design... And even on Guyver 1, the armor around them is still distinct from the orbs, and you can see the bio material they are connected to. This one part is throwing off the design entirely for me, as I can't understand what is going on there, because it is not Guyver like at all. The amps on the arms, leg and calves are kind of weird-ish and could use fleshing out, but I've seen something like those before, so I can kind of guess what they are meant to be.
