  1. Oh crud, that's right... He did have his stats reset. Yeah, that kind of screws up any plans for GGO. And all they needed to do was not say that line and it would have been fine. Though I am sure if they really wanted to do it, they would come up with an excuse to somehow still do it. Could just relogin to Heathcliff's account and alter his stats, lol.
  2. Yeah, I felt the ending itself was a bit less dramatic than I expected. Was nice to see the other girls aren;t giving up... But they will have a hard time convincing Kazuto to leave Asuna. Was never a big fan of Suguha liking her own brother. It would have been ok if she had just liked Kirito, and freaked out when it turns out he was her brother... But the Brother X Sister/Cousin thing just didn't sit right with me. As for GGO... Isn't it pretty short? They could probably do it as a movie or an OAV. In the ending of SAO he did mention that people were able to transfer accounts between games, so it could be set up... I just don't seem them doing another full season if GGO can't fill on itself. I just don't see them doing Alicization... It seems to be too big of a change. People want more Kirito X Asuna. They don't want a character like Kirito starting a new adventure not remembering anything from his past.
  3. I basically meant, "In the hands of a lesser director, this would probably have been a B-Movie with a lower production budget and crappy special effects." Don't know why I didn't just say that, lol! But Del Toro has the weight to pull around now, and can demand a good sized budget for his projects. And yes, the "B-Movie" type that I am refering to, is the kind of movie that goes straight to DVD. Usually lower budget movie with lesser known actors ( with the occasional known). Granted, it's not that they are BAD movies by default. I have seen some really good "B-Movies" ( Dark Hero anyone?). They are just movies that don't have the backing and star power for a full theatrical release. This includes movies with aging stars who aren't as popular anymore ( Steven Segal, Jean Cluade Van Damm, Dolph Lundgren etc...), or low budget sequels to existing movies ( Starship Troopers, Universal Soldier, Darkman etc...). There is an untold variety of movies that never get any hype, but are just as entertaing ( sometimes more so) than big budget films. This is why I hate the fact that movie rental places are practically gone now... Some of them were full of old B-Movies that were definately worth a rental.
  4. Using GLaDOS's (Portal/Portal 2) voice/tone for the computer was sheer genious. I don't care what anyone says. That being said, using 2 pilots ( one of the Jeagers uses 3) seems a bit overkill... But I still am optimistic. As for people saying it seems like a live action Evangelion movie... One of the things mentioned in some of the promotional info, is that the main Jeager, Gipsy Danger, is an older Jeager ( first one ever created if I remember correctly) and may have been made differently than the other Jeagers. Similarily like how Eva Unit 01 was made from Lillith and not Adam like all the other units. Rumors are it may not be entirely mechanical in nature... Thus the bit of Eva similarity. Using the monsters to create mecha to fight the monsters. That and a few of the Jeagers have a somewhat similar look to the Eva's ( or at least Jet Alone...) This certainly is one of the movies that could be totally a straight to home video B-Movie with crappy special effects. But DelToro being the director gives it hope for great things.
  5. It can feel very slow at times, and does have quite a few episodes that feel like filler episodes or "Monster of the Week" episodes. But the plot itself is very good, and the drama is handled well. As mentioned in an older post, the animation can be really bad sometimes... But really high quality sometimes too. They used multiple studios to make the series and sadly you can tell very easily. It's one of the flaws that can really turn somepeople away from the series.
  6. There was a lot more edits than that throughout the series. If you wish to see "Tekkaman Blade" the only way to watch it is the original Japanese version. You probably won't be missing out on much if you only stick to the Teknoman series though. I've heard from many people that it still covers all the important stuff... Just with a lot of regular editing ( like blood etc...). It was edited for TV... But not US TV, so not as heavily mauled. Like for instance, spoilers of course:
  7. Anyone else see it yet?
  8. No, the book I got is all from the Out of Control OAV. Those look like they are from the OAV Series, or the 2005 TV series It's all mostly art with some small notes around the character work.
  9. Nope, scanner at work is too small. Damn. Going to need to find a full sized photocopier that can scan for this thing...
  10. Welcome! Gotta say, love the avatar =P
  11. Warriorguyver.com still exists. Though has not been updated in years sadly. Bioweapons.com still exists too... Though Dave is a busy busy man with his costuming and effects stuff.
  12. You totally mean KAZUTO didn't you. Yeah, I know you did
  13. The thing has freaking huge pages... Bigger than most art books like the VDF. Going to see if the scanner at work is big enough to scan the pages. From what I remember the book covers: - Sho/Guyver 1 Designs - Mizuky Designs - Possible male Guyver 2 Designs - Valcuria/Female Guyver 2 Designs - Chronos Lackey designs. Oddly only the suit wearing guys, no comabt uniform) - Genzo Makashima designs - Zoanoid/human designs ( Gregore, Ramo-cheese, Vamore, possibly some others that I forget at the moment) - Zerebubuth early designs. Seems a bit more lankier than the design used later. Less refined - Guyver 3 designs - Sho's school mates designs - Set/background designs Most of the stuff listed only have maybe 1 or 2 pages per entry. Not really a whole heck of a lot... But still awesome to see.
  14. I'm more for just putting a large watermark on the images. As it has been mentioned, people find a way around most everything. Watermarks however are pretty much forever. The only thing someone could do with a watermarked page is take the translation and scanlate it themselves onto a raw chapter... Which VERY few would ever do. I have seen it, but it is rare. All it needs is a large watermark diagonally across the page. Doesn't have to be a thick one that covers a lot, just the URL and the name But sadly, just putting the name and a link at the top/bottom/side isn't enough anymore.
  15. Oh, look what magically appeared in the mail today!
  16. I know there was a bit of information left out of the anime that was noted by the light novels ( they didn't note in the anime that authorities were alerted to every player location in order for them to take care of their bodies while in the game). So not having actually read them I can't say for certain, but I am pretty sure that if the players disconnected in any other way than hitting "Logout" they would be fried. I have no doubt that they might have tried that with a few people... And those people probably died.
  17. Yeah, a bit pricey... Though I bet the seller knows that it is probably pretty rare, since they seem to have a lot of other art books for ok prices. Edit: Looks like it's been bought anyway.
  18. That or, when the new unit tried to bond with Sho, his regular unit would probably bio-boost and blast the new unit away. Either way, with how the Control medal attaches to the hosts brain, there would be no room for 2.
  19. I think you might be =P Mainly because, if you look at all the pages, it is not very consistant what the shading is. In some panels the armor looks clear and has no shading, but in the big front shot there is shading all over it. Then compair the two shots of the armor pulling off Sho... In one it is nice and clear, where in the second the shading has changed. THEN you look at Aptom reforming, and his shading seems to change between panels as well. It's probably all due to presentation. The extra shading is probably added for badassery effect, rather than lighting. Granted, it could all be different colors too. The important thing is, Yoshiki Takaya knows how to make his fans chat up his manga!
  20. New Guyver chapter... Not translated as of this writing... But all I can say is... I don't think we'd have ever thought of that with Aptom. Kind of did with Cyber Guyver and Robo Guyver briefly... But still. Awesome. http://www.guyversolution.tk/guyvermanga/latestmanga/
  21. Is it bad, despite how awesome Aptom always looks... That I want him to stay in that form as his new battle form? lol! But damn, what an awesome idea. In all my years of fan fic writing, I never would have thought of that. Damn cool. Either way, I kind of saw this coming. In a way, I know Sho kind of realizes that for the most part, Chronos's takeover has done a lot of good, and that Shin is one of the "Good" Zoalords. And of course by "good", I mean mostly that he's not an evil prick. He's still Chronos, but he's no Guyot or like the 3 Traitors. He and Purg'stall seemed to be fairly decent rulers. And no doubt Sho AND Shin probably realize that Sho could kill him if he really wanted to, now that he's one of the few active Zoalords left. So if Sho is coming to him for information, it is a bold move, but one that Sho can make safely at this point. And for Shin, if Sho is after a common enemy or two ( or three), it might actually be in his favor to help at this point. Their numbers are dropping, and if one of your enemies who is able to kill you, is standing before you asking for information on some of your other enemies, why not share a bit? Especially when that enemy is usually a nobel soul, rather than a backstabber ( Agito) It's moments like this that I wish Guyver was a weekly series... Events like this just really make you need more. Now I can't wait for the volume with this chapter to be released... I want a full body pic of the "Aptom Suit"... Hopefully with some color too... If I wasn't at work, I'd probably have an image of it loaded in photoshop playing with color designs... Though at first I would guess it uses the colors of Aptoms newer form, since he wouldn't need to alter it to make it suitable colors for Sho either... But it could be totally different for better deception...
  22. I have been loving it. The final episodes of the first arc were great. If I had one wish, it would be that the series would never have left SAO, but still ended the same way. Yeah, I know it is based off of some light novels, and that they early episodes were just side stories that happened after the fact... But they really could have done a lot more within the SAO world... Especially since I am not too keen on the new arc. It wouldn't be the first time an artists vision was altered... And even then, it looks like it may not delve even further after the Alfheim arc. But I just found the large time skips a bit too jarring. Especially since he goes from lvl 40 something to lvl 78 between 2 episodes. As for the Alfhiem arc... I was wondering how they were going to explain how he would ever stand a chance to reach Asuna if he had to start over at lvl 1, but I guess it kind of makes a bit of sense. It's a shame that it technically already has a more cohearent plot than the start of the first arc... But since he doesn't have to level up, they can spend more time on plot. I'm just not fond of the fairy idea personally... Which is why, I wish they had just extended the SAO arc. It's all just sword/bladed weapon combat, which is a type of thing I like moreso than magic. But I am in it until the end. They made the Kirito/Asuna relationship actually matter to people, which is one of the series strong points. Oh, and Klein FTW. 'cause Klein is a bro.
  23. Pretty much in the same boat with a lot of people... Very very VERY MEH. I liked the Suit design for the most part, but it certainly is very plain. But the Rider System is too much like a mix of 000's and Den-O... And the way the belt talks is annoying. The backstory does seem dark, but much like Kiva they don't seem to want to go that route at all. And it's a shame... My favorite rider series are all darker and more serious.
  24. What I like, is it looks like they are teasing us that the "Ugly Yellow" armor will not be the final armor of the movie. Becuase the paint job is horrible. It's not even golden... It's like dijon mustard. The armor design itself is great, just the coloring... But it looks like it will be the "Test" armor that will preceed the "Final" armor for the movie, and what he will no doubt wear in The Avengers 2. From the synopsis Marvel released, it mentions that Tony loses everything... I am hoping the teaser trailer above is all from the first half of the movie. And the rumors that he will be controlling something like 30 Iron Man armors at once... That is taken straight from the comics, post Extremis as well.
  25. Since it's been a while... - Eureka Seven AO (Astral Ocean) - A lot more action than the first series... But just as screwy with plot points. Plus a lot less stuff that bugged me about the first series. - Sword Arts Online - 10,000 people are stuck in a virtual reality MMO. Only way to get out without dying in the real world? Someone has to beat the final boss. Enjoying it quite a bit. Started a bit late on watching it, but it has grabbed my attention. - Muv Luv Alternitive Total Eclipse - Mixture of fan service, gore, giant robots and love story. Not the greatest series... But the mecha designs are nice - Gundam AGE - Finished - Bleh. Really left a sour taste in my mouth. I liked parts of it, and I liked a lot of the mecha designs ( enough to buy the model kits)... But the final plot arc was horrible. And the fact the next Gundam series will be a sequel to AGE... I don't have high hopes for the plot. The Mecha though...
