  1. Not really... as an avid FPS game player, I find that my normal FPS shooting skills do tend to help in some situations ( like when you run out of AP). I tend to mostly use VATS now when the enemies are too close, or I need to protect something, or kill something quickly. Though it does tend to use up a bit more ammo than using VATS's exclusively.
  2. What I love about Fallout 3, is that it's more of an FPS, with RPG elements. I'm still currently playing it, and can;t it for the new DLC coming on the 27th, and then in February and March... Jus whe Ithought I was almost done with it... it keeps bringing me back... Not that I am complaining in the least bit =P
  3. Note though, that Saji sits backwards in comparison to Setsuna... and yet when Setsuna accelerated... Saji was pushed back into his chair... Instead of forward like the position of his seating should have put him... I'm not sure I like this "Newtype" reaction they get from the Trans Am now... I was kinda hoping that the 100% GN Drive power would have been enough... but I guess the Innovators mecha are much more powerful than the Twin Drive system at 100%? ... They really got to work out the scales of power in 00... They were a lot better in season 1... but now everything is about equal... until the 00 showed up... and now they already have to upgrade it, because it cannot handle grunt suits... Ok Celestial Being... what were you doing when the Federation and the A-Laws were upgrading their mecha...? Seriously... the only thing they have now is Trans Am... and even that isn't that big of a deal.
  4. I think there is a lot of bad press going around for the movie, and after seeing the trailer, I can see why certain types of fans are against it, and some are wanting to see it. - Dragonball Z fans - This is NOT DBZ. Let me repeat that. THIS IS NOT DBZ. I dunno if some don't realise, but there was a whole series before DBZ called, get this... DRAGONBALL. It was a about a young kid and his friends collecting things called Dragonballs, and on their way, fight some big villians. ( Note that the japanese Manga was never called Dragonball Z. It was just "Dragonball" for it's 42 volume run. The stuff we know as "Z", started in Volume 17.) - Purists/Source Material fans - These people want it to be a direct take from the manga source. And I am sorry, but for Dragonball, that just doesn't work. It worked great for the Hellboy and Iron Man movies, but Dragonball is not something you can do well in live action, and make it successful. Honestly, it looks like the changes they made to this, were for the american audiences so that those who do not understand can feel that they are not being left out. That being said, I expect MANY inside jokes, or cameos from characters who couldn't make it into the movie (Oolong, Puar etc...) - Fanboys/Haters/Trolls - Honestly, they seem to have a problem with everything. And are usually the bane of any forum/discussion because they think their opinion matters, and that it is right. That or they are just trolling. People who honestly do not like these kinds of films, or are not Dragonball fans are fine. It's just the stereotypes listed above that really drag down the public opinion on the movie. I'm still undecided weither or not I will see it in the theater, or just download it... But I know one thing... my brother, who dislikes anime, actually thinks it looks fairly decent. And I think right there, the producers of the movie have done their jobs.
  5. Actually, I think it looks a lot like Bulletproof Monk... which also starred Chow Yun Fat who was an old master who teaches a young white guy the ways of "super martial arts"... except it was about a scroll, and not dragonballs
  6. April 8th, 2009
  7. I didn't bother posting mine because I was having issues with my account... but now those issues are fixed! WarriorGuyverC I tend to not play online too often these days... but I do occasionally pick up Halo 3 or GoW once and a while. But with GoW 2 coming soon...
  8. In all honesty, claiming that today's kids are "more clever than Adults" is merely propaganda for the worlds failing school systems. Yes, there ARE kids who are more clever than Adults. It's true. But those numbers are VERY low. Yes, with new technologies, and new discoveries, kids these days should be taught so much more than their parents where at that age. And Adults, being set mostly in their ways, don't learn as easily, thus coming to the theory that " Kids are smarter than Adults". However, the problems are numerous, ranging from the fact that Kids don't want to learn, to Teachers not teaching properly, or even Governments interfering with what is being taught. If you look at the numbers of Students who do not go into the higher education fields, compared to even the number that manage to graduate High school... you will see that things look bleak... for the world. The USA gets picked on for it, and rightfully so, but other countries are getting to be no better. It's really a disturbing trend, that no one, Teachers, Parents, Religions, or Politicians, want to acknowledge. More and more students are being indoctrinated into other things. Like Gangs, dealing Drugs, or trying to get into the "Entertainment" Industry. Places they think they can make easy money, rather than spending the years and money to get a career, like a Doctor, Engineer, or in a skilled trade... who can make decent money... but the work required is just too daunting sometimes, and quick and easy money is too easy of a treat. I would have included "Unskilled Laborer" in that... but a lot of people I've seen who get into "Unskilled Laborer" positions right after High School, if they work hard enough, CAN make a living in the Trades etc... without at first realizing it. In the end, it's how you are brought up that shapes your morals and beliefs. And sadly, that is the #1 problem with the world today. It's a combined effort of the Parents, Society, and Governments. And it's sad when all 3 are failing today's youth. Some manage to rise up, and fight the temptations, and actually make something of themselves. And unfortunately, as much as we want to praise them for it... it's not them we should be focusing on. It's those who fail who should get the focus. The help. but it seems society doesn't want it to work that way. And thus, we get reports like " Kids these days are more clever than Adults". There is some truth to it, just not the truth we should be hearing. *end rant*
  9. Still not "official" for me. Model kits manuals are full of errors as, Mark Simmons ( Gundam Guru of the Western world, and actually works for Bandai as a translator) has pointed out on numerous occasions, they may be a source for some material, but the japanese language is not an open and closed translation. Especially since the official site when ran through multiple translators comes up with "arouzu"as the organisations name. But that's half the fun of the Japanese language. For simplicity sake, I'll just start calling them the Titans and be done with it =P
  10. Wow, some good subs out real quick. So it turns out Lyle actually works for the other Anti-Government group that is opposing the "Arrows" ( Until I see some official source calling them otherwise, I will be calling them Arrows)... so he's not just a civilian. It was kind of a weird piece after the song ( I wonder if that was End or OP footage), but it oddly wasn't the "Preview for next ep"... Very weird. Pretty much my other statements from my previous post stand... I watched most of Macross Frontier in MP4. It seems to work real well too. I just tend to prefer AVI. Thankfully Menclave (Mendoi-Conclave) has picked up Gundam 00 Season 2, and seem to be actually putting it out at a decent time. So I will be sticking with them, as that is who I also used for season 1 (well most of it).
  11. Yeah, I watched the raw myself... Will wait to comment more once some decent subs are out.
  12. I went with Menclave for the first season... but near the end I only used them for archiving purposes. They started off really good, then turned to crap with speed. I guess we just gotta see who is the fastest. Though, I personally cannot get any .mkv releases, not until I get a new computer... this one is going on 5 years... and it cannot play them at all. So that usually effects my watching habits.
  13. New short preview. Nothing really new this time around, except we get to see Damaged Exia fight a little more ( and we see that his GN Blade was broken too).
  14. Topic has been split up. All English Dub discussion of Gundam 00 has been moved here: http://www.japan-legend.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1658 This will now be the Japanese release topic only, and continuing with season 2. Yep, it was moved to a Sunday timeslot, rather than a Saturday timeslot that it had for Season 1. So October 5th is the date for the first episode.
  15. I think we talked about that before ( I know I mentioned it recently)... But so far, no one is admitting the Fic is actually "Dead"... There could be more coming... I am such a horrible tease aren't I?
  16. Zeronos? Who's that? All I care for is having another figure of Deneb!
  17. 2 new scans with some action poses of the new Gundams and GN-X's Gotta say, so far I still don't like Cherudim or Seravee that much... But Arios's transformation looks pretty damn slick. Looks like Gundam 00 might still have 7 swords... those additions to the shoulder pieces look like they could be swords or Shield swords in disguise. Where the 7th sword could come from, who knows. And YES, that is a Gundam head on Seravee's back. What does it mean? Nothing good... there has only been 1 Gundam gattai, and that was the Grand Master Gundam from G Gundam... and it was pretty hideous... I hope to god they are not attempting a Gundam Gattai... The GN-XIII's are pretty much what we saw at the end of episode 25... with color differences ( Probably just like how Graham's uniform changes colors from the prievew in 25, to the new previews we've seen), but still look pretty good. I don't really like the Code Geass inspired lances though... The "Ahead" definately looks awkward... but pretty badass at the same time ( espeically since we saw a bit of it in action in one of the previews). It seems like this is the next step in Tieren design, rather than staying with the designs used by the GN-X's. I wonder if we will see a true GN-Flag this time around, rather than the quick job that it was in season 1 ( but I still loved it )
  18. In case people haven;t seen the poor handcam'd version of this yet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-T7ELrTDmWk Shows a bit more of what a couple of the main cast are up to right at the begining of season 2. Damaged Exia, with a cloak? A modified Red GN-X? Allelujah captured? Gundam 00 launching!
  19. James is actually not the one handling the Chronicles story. He role in it has been the same as his role in all our fics ( though "Editor" doesn't really do what he does justice) Chronicles is writen by Micheal Cox. Which I note was in my list of people, and has been absent for quite a while too.
  20. Well, here's the thing. This fan fiction required the team members to have regular group chat sessions to keep things running. Brian - Once again missing in action. He swore he was going to come back and work on the fic some more... but that lasted like all of a week. James - Only really active member... but was never a main fic writer. He could continue Brians works pretty easily as he had heavy influence over the years. Andre - Sometimes pops online but real life and family has claimed him. Allen - Offline once again after a brief period of being active. Mike - I assume real life has claimed him as well. Myself - My interest has been waining for years as Guyver has dragged on with nothing new, and the fic starting to go in directions I was starting to become less comfortable with. The 2005 series was great, but it made me realize how far we've gotten from the original content. The newer manga chapters have kinda turned for the worst too... I still love Guyver, but I don't love Warrior Guyver the way I used to. I actually wrote a rant on this on my Deviant Art page which i will repost here for those who don't visit it. But, the entire staff of the site has fallen apart. The only person I still talk to online is James, and due to our schedules, is not that often. As for handing off the stories to someone else... I totally refuse to do that for mine. I mean, it wouldn't be like someone using a Warrior unit in their own fic, it be using my characters, who only I know exactly how they would react in certain situations. And honestly, due to poor writing in the past, some aren't as fully fleshed out as they should have been by now ( when I do the summery, these will be included). I'll try to get it out this weekend, but no promises... stuff seems to have piled up while i was away, and I've got a lot to worry about here. And now for the rant: I just had some random person on MSN contact me about Guyver. Now, I love Guyver, don't get me wrong. I love to have good discussions about Guyver, or answer peoples questions that they may have. But the reason they contacted me, was to tell me about their new Guyver they created, which in turn happened to be a mish-mash of wg.com fanfiction stuff, cobbled together into something that doesn't make much sense at all. And it really occurred to me that, we at WarriorGuyver.com, have RUINED Guyver fan creations. Our distortion of power, making more and more powerful beings. Making up/evolving technology to make said beings even more powerful... the list goes on. In retrospect, over the years as we created this stuff, everything sounded real good. A lot of things we tried to base on real theories ( we even nailed the fact that the orb at their waste is the main producer of energy via a link to hyperspace, when that wasn't translated for years to come). But now, almost everyone tries to use our created technology for their custom/fanfic ideas, instead of using the actual Manga or Anime as a basis. And I wish it would just stop, because they are getting more and more overboard, and it's seeming that they want to have their Guyver in our Universe... but be more powerful than anything we have. It's like a DragonBall Z power fight. We create something more powerful, now everyone else decides that they have to top it. Sure, it probably says a lot about our former and current popularity... which is actually pretty staggering. And really... fanfic writers have always been exaggerating things in custom character for decades... But it kinda makes me wonder if this is how Yoshiki Takaya feels about our site, and what we have done to Guyver fandom. And honestly, I would apologize to him if I had the chance.
  21. Gah... sorry everybody, been really busy with work, moving, preparing for Otakon, and going to Otakon ( still here actually). I'm pretty much at the point where I am about to reveal what was going to happen in the future... as honestly, especially after having a table in this years artist alley, I want to focus on my art a bit more... and I don't know if I will ever write for the fic again. It's been a long time coming I suppose. I'll have to confer with James about things before I do anything, so that I don't spoil things that aren't mine to spoil...
  22. Meh... crap designs are still crap designs. They look like some amature fanart of the Season 1 designs. Seed Destiny's plot was crap because of the director and his way of listening to the "fans". I have hopes that the plot of Season 2 will save the horrible mecha designs... but they are pretty inexcusable. I've watched EVERY Gundam Animation that there is, and while this isn't the biggest insult I've seen... it certainly is a slap in the face to fans of the original mecha designs. I mean, you look at the 00 Gundam. It seems to fit with the mecha designs that we've seen thus far. But the other 3 new ones have hard edges, and flat designs. They don't seem to fit the general theme of the Gundam designs, and look really out of place. And for those who mentioned... the "Rumor" I previously stated, yeah I know about it being his twin brother... thus why I called it LAME. Lockon Stratos/Neil Dylandy was a great character. Killing him off was sad, but they did. I would wish that they didn't dishonor the said sacrifice in such a bad way. I'm still going to watch Season 2 with a very open mind. Season 1 was great, and from what I have read about the plot, it seems it may continue in that direction. But as an artist and model builder... the Season 2 Gundams are inferior in aesthetics to the original 4.
  23. Personally, so far, I don't like much of what I have seen. Gundams - Gundam 00 - I kinda like it... but only because it looks like a retro fitted Exia. It's 2 "Gun Blades" that we've seen I don't like though. They are just plain ugly. "Kyrios MkII" - Doesn't look too bad. An over simplified version of the first Kyrios... but not the worst design out there. Still like Kyrios better. "Dynames MkII" - Crap. Dynames was a cool design, and this is an over simplified crap version of it. "Virtue MkII" - Again, same deal with "Dynames MkII". Looks horrible. Pilots - All 4 seem to return... including Lockon? I know what the rumors are, but seriously, LAME. At least Setsuna looks a bit older. I'm shaking my head in disgust here... I really liked the first season... but Season 2 isn't starting off very well... and it hasn't even aired.
  24. While I loved TDK... it not a "Popcorn" movie that I would go re-watch multiple times. In saying that, it was still a really good movie. But, unlike other comic book movies and such, there is no scene in the movie that I really want to rewatch over and over again. I've rewatched Iron Man completely like 5 times, and rewatched memorable scenes a good hundred times or so. I tend to do this with a lot of movies and Anime. But the Dark Knight has no scenes that really want me to go back to it. And yes, the Jokers magic trick was just so bloody hilarious... one that we'll hopfully never see in real life...
  25. Gundam Seed was 50 episodes, while Gundam Seed Destiny was 50 as well, with 2 specials. And both Seed series had 4 openings each ( technically Destiny did have 5. Since the Final Plus ep had a different opening). Gundam Seed was a one season show at 50 episodes. Gundam 00 will be a 2 season series at 26 episodes each. The difference here is that normally an average "Anime Season" is one half of the year, usually 26 episodes. However, in the past a lot of series go longer, and go for the 50-52 episode run, with no break between episodes. These are still considered a single season. Especially since most of then do not have cliffhangers at the end of ep 26. There was no break between playing the episodes of Gundam Seed, or "mid season break" like what Gundam 00 or Code Geass are doing. There was a 1 Year break between Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny however. But naturally they are considered seperate seasons. And if you look at the titles, naturally being a sequel series, it was only modified from the original. But it was changed.
