Yay for movie posters! You get to see the "Guardians" uniform. Unfortunately they are all red, instead of the blue with red... But that might be a little too close the Captain America in this one. Or the alternate version of the poster...

Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD Coming out this month
Matt Bellamy replied to a topic in Japanese Entertainment
I never actually cared for FFX at all... (then obviously never bothered with X-2) The only part I did like was Blitzball. I so badly wanted them to make a blitzball spin off game. That would have been amazing. And I usually don't like sports games. -
Topic Merged. It's the unfortunate side effect from being a reboot of something a lot of people consider a classic. As, even if you exclude the subtext of the movie, the original is still a fun, over the top 80's action flick. The new Robocop is something more along the lines of normal action movies today, and actually scored fairly well on rotten tomatoes for what it was. At 49% (88 positive to 92 negative) and an average rating of 5.5/10. It's exactly what is it. Average. Nothing special overall. A lot of people liked it. A lot of people did not. But it is a very mid-ling movie in that way, and really, a fitting movie for this time of year. I do know that some critics are completely biased, and some gave it a more negative of review than it deserved, due to nostalgia and their love of the original. But that's their prerogative, and it's up to the reader to decide if they agree or not. And unfortunately, it's reviews like that, which drive people away from actually seeing movies like this, as they tend to hold onto the same nostalgia for somethings. I mean, one of my favorite movie reviewers, MovieBob over at http://www.escapistmagazine.com/ had NOTHING good to say about it, at all. But I KNEW he was going to do that, as he noted in other videos that he wasn't looking forward to it, and outright saying it was going to be garbage and not compete with the original. I am disappointed that his personal bias overpowered his professionalism, but that's life. If I actually had to grade it, I'd probably put it somewhere around 6/10 or 6.5/10. I enjoyed a lot of it, and liked the mechanical designs, but it certainly was not a blockbuster by any means.

The Nova Corps are in it. John C Reily was in the trailer as Rhomann Dey. Glenn Close apparently plays the current "Nova Prime" Whether or not they set anything up for a "Nova" movie is unknown, but the Corpsmen are in the movie. Though I would love it, so long as it is Richard Rider... Sam Alexander is turning out pretty good, but I'd prefer Rich. I hope Angela never appears. She was only brought in to the Marvel universe "Because We Can". I really don't like the shift Marvel took with the Cosmic side. Star-Lord is back, with no real reasoning ( and his new costume is ugly). Thanos is back without any real reasoning. Nova Prime? Still missing, with no real reasoning. But then, they always do this when a new movie comes out. It's stupid because it ruins continuity like crazy... Something Marvel loves to claim they care about, but they don't. There are a number of characters they could be missing, but the current "core" cast is pretty set, without going into too much other back stories... Like: Phylla-Vel Moondragon Mantis Major Victory Cosmo ( never was a full member... But come on, awesome telepathic cosmonaut dog? He's like Professor X! And a Dog! A Russian Dog!) Despite the fact I like Drax and Gamorra... With the smaller cast, I think they could have done without Gamorra, and maybe threw in Phylla or Mantis ( despite Mantis being green skinned as well). As a basic description for both Gamorra and Draw would read: "Green Skinned Badass that uses Blades" Yondu is in the movie. Michael Rooker is playing him.

I have to say I did enjoy it quite a bit. They did touch on a few different points than the original, and did deal with his humanity better. But it also had quite a number of subtle, and not so subtle throwbacks to the original. And the PG rating must have been barely granted. Other than the lack of swearing ( unneeded), nudity ( unneeded) and gore (unneeded), there was still plenty of violence and killing. I felt the that PG rating simply was given because they brought what the original had overdone (gore), done to more realistic levels, and omitted a few unnecessary additions that were not required (nudity and swearing) And while I stil do not favor the black suit despite the helmet being pretty cool, I really like the silver armor even more. A very nice update to the classic design.

Chances are their origins will probably be "Alien related". ie The ooze that makes them is not from this world. Which I believe is their actual origin from the original comic series. They probably won't be grown aliens themselves. Another pic was found:

So as May 16th, 2014 draws closer upon us, news regarding the new Ninja Turtles movie has been released. This time in the form of images of some statues that seemed to be on the filming location, as well as a picture of an armored Shredder, who seems to be in some sort of power armor similar to what was used in the movie "Elysium". I personally think the Turtles look awesome. Shredder... Maybe not so much, but does look menacing with that mask/face.

Why not just cut out the characters from the background? Then you can use whatever you want for the background.

Those are still pretty big stretches. The neural link, moving things with your body, and feeling damage are all from G Gundam too. They also wore fancy suits with sensors, and the mechs actually moved with their bodies. They didn't in Evangelion. Oh and don't forget about Robot Jox. Did it ages before. In Evangelion they never explained where all the Angels were coming from. But it definitely wasn't the ocean since more than one were from space. This if anything is probably borrowed from the fact Godzilla came out from the Ocean in the majority of the films. And the one monster after another? That was taken from old Super Robot and Kaiju shows of the 70's. It's a trope called " Monster of the Week" See? You can find parallels in anything. I've always hated when people choose to point fingers at anything and claim they copied/stole/borrowed something, UNLESS the creators themselves acknowledged the link. While the original writer was aware of Evangelion, Del Toro was not. Del Toro is a Kaiju fan, not an anime fan. The movie would not have been made if Del Toro didn't feel that an updated Kaiju movie could be done. In the most basic sense, you could compare Pacific Rim to a big budget "Mecha Godzilla vs Godzilla" movie, with some fancy tech ideas thrown in. People tend to use Evangelion because it was so popular... But Pacific Rim was not based on Evangelion at all. Especially since Evangelion at is core is about religion and such. Pacific Rim had none of that. Most of the other concepts people use Evangelion to compare it to Pacific Rim, were used before Evangelion was ever a thought in Anno's mind.

hows that compare to the BFC's? I cant remember off the top of my head, and how much is that in £ /$ ?? Amiami lists the Guyvers themselves from about 3,400 - 4,500yen. More for bigger figures. Pretty fitting since the Figma is not really too much smaller in size.
-
Price usually comes when the pre-order is announced. Looking at other Figma pricing, it'll probably be around 3,000 - 3,500yen depending on size and accessories.

why do people keep asking for a chapter that doesn't exist?
Matt Bellamy replied to Jess♥'s topic in Guyver
I could draw a picture of Sho and Aptom drinking tea with Shin as the chapter, with caption saying "On Break" Or better yet, get Cannibal to ask one of the two guyver fan girls to do it. They do better "bishie" guys. Seriously though... Maybe make sure there is an extra page in the previous months chapter saying " There is no chapter next month" or the like... Or putting it on the last page of the chapter itself. But, I know this is something that almost every manga translation team goes through. Some ignore it. Some have a Copy and Paste statement regarding these things. While most have a separate e-mail account so that this does not bog down their regular e-mails. However, I do understand that because you have subscribers, ignoring the e-mails isn't that great of an option... Unless you specifically note that those e-mails will be ignored. And I'm not judging people specifically or anything, but in my experiences, Subscribers are very greedy. They think if they are paying for something, they deserve all they can get their grubby hands on, despite knowing exactly what they are paying for... Even if that month no product exists. This kind of thing is just part of the "job" as it were. -
I was going to say the same thing... But I probably was going to come off a bit more "Grumpy Old Man-ish", since I've read manga from some artists who have had their series shortened/cancelled due to deadline issues. Either way, I am glad to see we got to see the "Aptom Armor" again, even if it was just in a short 8 pages. Was too cool of a design to not use again.

Xi Gundam....maybe the cousin of Zeorymer?

The Guyver Gigantic being yellow was either an assistant, or someone from the production side of things. I do remember that it was an accident though.

Oh, wouldn't it be grand for Guyot to finally get what he deserves? I doubt it will actually happen at this point, but one can hope, yes? I am however hoping one thing happens here: Apollon's official reveal. It would be nice to finally clear that up... The Silha stuff made it a more more obvious... But an awesome 3-way fight would be a hell of a way to officially do it. Have his helmet be blown away, damaged or destroyed.

Some of us, as Ryuki mentioned, are still alive. Though other things have indeed taken a hold of our lives. Basically? It originally took place after book 15, in which Sho tracks down Sean Barker from the Live action movies ( mainly Dark Hero of course. David Hayter ftw!). In our universe, the US government is actively trying to fight back against Chronos, and Sean is helping where he can. Chronos and the US government team up with the Japan Guyvers try and take over a newly discovered relic, which housed a new type of unit: The Warrior Unit. More powerful and focused for combat ( much like it is noted in the series, it is believed the original Unit-G just adapts to the host. Humans being living weapons made them even better killing machines). And from there we spawned many new types of units, characters etc... As well as secondary and more writers like myself and the GuyverC storyline. Some of them directly tie in together, while others are a bit more removed. There is quite a lot, so I'll probably just stop there. I personally would like to continue, but I cannot find the time, nor inspiration to write... Especially since we all want to go back and re-write our early stuff. I think I had turned the first 5 pages of the "Old script style" into something like 15-20 or so pages of actual story that I was proud of... I am pretty sure that sadly got lost in an HD crash ages ago.

YES. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Ahem. Yes indeed.

If Apollon is Imakarurm, where do you think the materials came from that made his suit? Barcus said the metal was of the same properties as the guyvers control metal? The temple at Silha? No one really knows what could be stored there. It could very well be battle armor made by the Creators for their "Commander" creatures (ie Alkanphel), or perhaps even themselves when they didn't need to use the Bio-Booster armor. Tis all speculation of course.
-
I am guessing the hand is like a tribute to the first one where the company had the chance to salvage his arm but then they decided to go all metal, it looks stupid but having his human arm can provide some advantages that a metal arm can't like feeling texture and having prints etc.. got to think tactical with stuff like that. as for the gun, I don't know, I like it....here is a closer look at his gun taken from the Omnicorp website as well as the robots they have made including ED - 209 Actually, his hand has nothing to do with being "Tactical". It's the "Humanizing" that Omnicorp wanted. All their other robots are lifeless and mean looking. The whole point of having his face and hand the way they are, is so he can be the face of their company/new line of products. He can shake hands with people and show he's "still human". He's meant to show the people the "Good" side of murderbots. I kinda wish they would still put a glove over the hand during action sequences though. It just doesn't look right.

Youtube's biggest problem is that they do not review the content people post. They leave it up to users to report illegal content. Some companies deny it, but others outright say they do... But they have people that search Youtube for all their properties, and report them immediately. As well as fans who will report any and/or everything. Remember Youtube is not for posting any video you want. Originally it was formed to post videos YOU created. Posting intros/scenes from series and the like is not Youtube's intention. And really no one has a right to complain when their videos of someone else's property get removed if that is all they are doing. Does it still get used for those purposes? Oh you bet. And if the video is found by anyone who cares that it was put up, it can be reported. I remember MANY years ago a huge outcry due to the increase in Anime Music Videos, that their videos were being removed due to copyright infringements. But before asking on a forum, you should read Youtube's information this kind of stuff. Would answer most of your questions. For example: See the bolded text for the most common reason. So what can you do? Well, nothing really, unless you get permission from the company to post the videos. Of course, Copyright holders or reps are people. And sometimes they may look at a video and decide that they won't have it removed for whatever reason. Then a week, month or years later, see the same thing, and have it removed, UNLESS you have written documentation stating they allowed it. They are people, and they do different things depending on their environment. Want to complain or actually do something about illegally posted stuff on Youtube? Be proactive and start reporting stuff. Unfortunately, for a lot of specific content, the few people watching the videos will not report it, because it is what they want. And thus is why Youtube is jam packed full of content that should be removed. Is anyone going to try and get it all removed? Probably not. Basically, you got unlucky that someone found your videos and reported them. As to why your other videos were not removed? Could be any number of reasons... but technically, if they are videos of a show that you do not own, you should remove them yourself, or don't be surprised if someone does find them and reports them. And remember: READ YOUTUBE'S RULES. Just because other people do it, and seemingly get away with it, does not mean you can. Ignorance is not an excuse. Much like every place where you sign up for an account, there is some little box that you click saying " Yes, I understand ALL the rules that this account allows me." And upon clicking said box, you are agreeing to following EVERY rule tied to the account. ----- Sorry if that all sounds so harsh, but it is the truth. And something you should be aware of since you have a valid Youtube account ( though 99.9999999% of the people never read the rules to any website they sign up to.)

I must say, I am liking what I see. Particularly the fact that it isn't a complete rehash of the first movie, and seems to have it's own premise about the Alex Murphy/Robocop persona. In the first movie, they made him more "Robo" than human, which he had to overcome. In this one, they still seem to make him very human, but influenced by the machine. In which they kind of already spoiled that he has to overcome. I do like the Silver armor more of course, and am hoping we get to see a lot of it... Since the trailer seems to show it quite a bit. This is shaping up to be an actual REBOOT, rather than a REMAKE. And I like that. As it stands, only one character in the movie keeps their name from the previous films... And that is Alex Murphy. And yeah, I know they are going to make it a PG-13 movie... But you can still have a great action movie in the PG-13 rating. Just because you don't get to see Murphy blown apart by a gang, does not mean it isn't "Robocop". Because this isn't THAT Robocop. And so far, I likes what I sees.

I own the three games... And am a bit saddened, but a little happy at what it has become. The first game was clearly meant to be a survival horror game. It was pretty good overall, and had a pretty decent plot, despite Isaac being a silent protagonist for the game. The second game still wanted to be a survival horror game, but started showing off some action. Isaac this time has a voice, and the story just gets more interesting while adding some more characters and depth to the plot. The third game is clearly an action game. A few small jump scares, but by this time it has taken on a more "Gears of War or Mass Effect" cover and combat style. And really, it was pretty good. It was kind of dumbed down in some aspects of the items/ammo, but was still felt like a continuation of Dead Space 2 while unfortunately moving away from its roots of Dead Space. Co-Op was another new feature, but one I didn't personally use. See, why I am saddened is that it seems to be going the "Resident Evil" route and becoming an action game with "Zombie/Monsters" as enemies, where their original forms were that of Survival Horror. So while I tended to prefer the more combat oriented #3, I still enjoy a good survival horror game. i am hoping they make a Dead Space 4... Simply due to the atmosphere of the game, and the technology. Oh and the Plasma Cutter is the best weapon in all 3 games. Upgrade that little bugger and you should have no problems.

I think the thing that pissed me off the most, was the hype videos that Gearbox put out of their lead staff saying " Oh, we're huge aliens fans, and we wanted to make a great aliens game." Blah blah blah. Except they didn't WANT to actually make it, because they have Borderlands now. There was a great article posted on kotaku.com about the creation of the game from some sources... And it just screams failure. http://kotaku.com/5986694/from-dream-to-disaster-the-story-of-aliens-colonial-marines
