  1. So you're basically saying that the basic instincts of humans are downright evil? I have to agree with you there. God know how may species the humans have made extinct. But animals have no concept of morality but they still survived to this day if they are left alone. I'm a shallow person and I have no grasp of what you guys are talking about in the movie, particularly the religious insinuations. I don't care if you see Jor-El as God and Kal-El as Jesus. To be completely honest, comparing the movie to religion kinda puts me off. What is so bad about simply enjoying a movie? Why analyze too deeply? It's a freaking movie and seeing it makes me happy. Why over analyze things? Have we evolved too much that it is very hard to enjoy simple things? Would this lead us to someday eventually put drama into a simple act such as pissing? Oh, the relieving pleasure of water leaving the body. How it soothes the bladder making you feel the warmth of your body, ever the tingling sensation in your shoulders as you feel the container being emptied into the shiny water closet. With the trickling sound of urine splashing into the water's surface making melodious music to your ears.
  2. Hmm... nice work. But the area around the torso of Valcuria seems to be slightly un-proportional. It's probably the missing creases, as those define the shape of her bossoms.
  3. Taking this literally, Uh..... EWW? What kind of sick person would do that? I mean, come on, porn is so easily accessible nowadays and they have to settle with that? Besides, you don't really get to see them get it on, just some partial nudity and moaning sounds. And mind you, not all actors are as pleasing when they take their clothes off. One had to remark that she close her mouth. Although Lena Headey was hotter when she was getting in on in 300.....
  4. I'm almost done with Season 2 and stopped at episode 7. What birth would that be? You mean the shadow assassin? I find that oddly disturbing. Also, reading the book side by side, I see that there are a lot more differences compared to the first season, but nothing major. Greyjoys sister is supposed to be named Asha not Yara, but I guess they changed it to avoid confusion with Osha. Theon's skin must have crawled when he found out about who Yara really is. Haha, serves him right. I'm still catching up with the book so I really can't say how much they changed.
  5. Look at the bright side, he's no longer wearing his underwear outside.
  6. With the way mobile technology advances and the way people switch phones like clothes, it got me thinking how many phones people have ever owned, and how long do they usually keep their phone before they change it. For me, I got my first phone way back in late 90's. I started using the Nokia 5110 for about a year or two. Since it was not my phone of choice, I switched to the Nokia 7110 when I received my first salary. Used it for around 5 years before it finally broke. My next phone is the Nokia 6260. Used it around 3 years or so before it died on me. Then I got the Nokia E66 which became my main phone until a few months ago. Used it for about 4 years. If you notice a lot of my phones are Nokia. I'm very particular about the features of the phone so I really spend time trying to research the phones that would suit my needs. And if you notice, I only change phone when they break. Now for my second phone, I started using one around 2007 which I am now calling my work phone. I started off with a Nokia 2700 (company issue). It was a cheap feature phone, I had no intention of changing it until I lost it after a year. So I bought the Nokia C3 until 2 years ago our company started mandating us to carry blackberry for us to be able to check email on the go. So I stored my Nokia C3 and started using the Blackberry Curve 8520 (company issue). It was hella slow retrieving emails so I bought the Blackberry Curve 9360 after a few months. So I was using it side by side with my Nokia E66 until last March. Since I was paying for an unlimited data plan, I found my phones to be under utilized and finally took the plunge and got the Blackberry Z10. Since my Nokia E66 is starting to give, I decided to retire it and replace it with my Curve 9360 instead. Now I'm rocking 2 Blackberry phones. Reflecting on this, in a span on 15 years, I have had 9 phones total and has been using only Nokia and Blackberry. The reason why I am using 2 phones is not because of the limitation of the phone, but more on the limitation of the network. I'm keeping my first network ($8 monthly contract) simply because they have the best coverage, and they don't offer this kind of plan anymore. My second network costs me around $43 a month ($36 monthly contract + $7 phone subsidy locked for 30 months), which includes unlimited call, text and data. But they have lousy coverage. What is your phone story?
  7. I'm not aware of any streaming sites for this, but chances are, if you look at the right place, it might not be that difficult to find. Although I do get mine via torrent from eztv despite us having HBO and is currently replaying the 3rd season in the wee hours of the night. I'm not sure if comparing it to Lord of the Rings would be right. Although they share the same concept and genre (midieval settings), the story is driven not by a single faction. There are three settings which intertwines with each other. You have conflict on Kings Landing which deals with the political aspect where those involve play the.... well... game of thrones. Then there is the Night Watch, where it deals with a group that keeps invaders from the North, which may include savages or supernatural creatures (white walkers). And finally, it also has the story of the exiled prince and princess, heirs to the deposed King who has the blood of the Dragons. Although all three settings have different stories, some characters cross over to each other, which we think will eventually end up in one final major climax. It has drama, conflict and definitely gore. They don't hesitate showing people getting decapitated, but done with taste. And the good thing about this is that they don't tell you who the good or bad guy is. It will make you love the characters or hate them. Heck, you don't even know who's going to live or die.
  8. i really can't remember if they showed his capture in season two as a flashback, but i guess they have to leave something to the imagination. about bran's premonition, to which are you refering? as you'll find he has a few in this coming season. Oh, him being a greenseer is already evident in the first book. The crow also talks to him about flying. As I watch season 2, it is only there that they are hinting at Bran's abilities. Currently watching season 2 and I can't seem to remember the book ever explicitly saying Renly was gay. It really makes me uncomfortable watching Renly and Loras getting it on.
  9. I have that exact same problem when I was watching Kuuga. But I also learned that those sub-titles were not included in the original air of Kuuga as the director wanted to present the grongi as mysterious beings. It's frustrating sometimes for me. I think the subs were only added on the DVD release later on. So if you are seeing those subs, you got lucky. Unless you can speak grongi. Did you know they actually constructed the grongi language? It's similar to japanese in grammar but uses different sullables.
  10. The guy is a United States senator and is a very influencial person in the political circle, also a member of Cronos. Interesting. So Cronos already have roots in the government that early.
  11. Thanks for that. But I've now finished reading book 1 and on to watching season 2. I'm impressed that the dialogues are exactly the same. quote for quote. Although I think that they were pressed for time in the later part of season one as they didn't show how Jaime Lannister was captured nor the premonition of Bran and Rickon.
  12. I can't remember which episode, but it's about the time where Khal Drogo was injured. I think Khaleesi were trying to save some slaves but dialogue ensues with some of the Khalasar, Daenarys and Khal Drogo. There's a lot of dialogue in different parts of the episode. Don't worry, I'm sure those are just minor dialogues.
  13. You know, that Orochimaru X Kabuto X Sasuke thing is getting confusing. Orochimaru is supposed to use Sasuke as his next body, but Sasuke managed to oust him. But then it gets confusing to me as to how Kabuto managed to graft the DNA of Orochimaru to himself. And it gets more confusing how they managed to yank out Orochimaru's consciousness from Kabuto. Is Orochimaru some kind of ghost?
  14. I know what you are saying. It's the little bit of surprise that makes this series so good aside from the lovable characters. Well, I just finished Season 1 and off to season 2. But I want to finish reading book 1 first before I move on to season 2. I'm roughly around 15% of the book or around episode 2 of season one. Don't want to miss anything. The book can probably clarify some of the things that I missed in the series. Like when Daenarys was talking in Dothraki, there was supposed to be sub-titles, but I can't read them because of the stupid hard coded foreign subtitles.
  15. In the first place, what led Sasuke to follow the path that he was on? His first reason was to get revenge on his brother because of what he did to the Uchiha clan. But then, after fulfilling his goal, the truth became an eye opener for him. In reality, his brother loved him and it totally destroyed everything he believed in. Hence turning his back on Konoha for what they had done to his brother. But we later found out that it wasn't really Konoha, but just Danzo. That's one emotional roller coaster for one kid to handle. So I guess that Sasuke is sincere in helping out Konoha. The big question is, why the heck is Orichimaru helping Konoha?
  16. I don't seem to remember any Gundam that involved Israel. But I think you might be pertaining to Gundam 00, since the series involves conflict in a region much similar to the middle east. I would recommend that series. It's a fresh take on Gundam after the disappointing Seed Destiny that precedes it.
  17. Ahaha, yeah, that's something to look forward too. It's always different to have to actually watch it than imagining it. And yes, it's aired in HBO but during late nights. Wasn't able to catch it then simply because I wanted to read the book first. Since they aren't showing it anymore, I had to resort to "back channels" in watching it. I guess you can say it was convenient for me too, since I can watch it straight without having to wait for weeks. With the Starks nearly wiped out, do you think they'll still regain their standing in Winterfell? Who do you think will be the final victor sitting on the iron throne? I'm rooting for a Stark, but it seems GRRM has this habit of killing a Stark. And with the condition of Bran, do you think he will still be able to bear children? Although the though of House Stark ending easily comes to mind.
  18. I may have mentioned this in the other threads but I'm currently reading the first book of the series A Song of Ice and Fire, A Game of Thrones. I don't think I need to describe what kind of series this is as it is already a popular HBO mini-series going for their fourth season. If you don't know what Game of Thrones is, in what cave have you been living on for the past 3 years?
  19. Let me guess, Season 3 ends with the Red Wedding? So far, that's the only real shocker that I know of. Dude, I waited 3 years before I could watch season 1. How would you count that as lucky? I was juggling between watching the TV first or reading the book first. Yeah, I like reading the book as well as watching it. I'm actually watching it first then reading it, as the books give more details that the TV episodes might have missed. Besides, watching the TV first helps me with the images in my head when I read. Usually when I read the novels first, I would hate the adaptation, but this is an exception. Another exception (being a little off topic here) was stardust by Neil Gaiman. I actually liked the movie than the novel. I hated the novel, but loved the movie. I must say, giving the Game of Thrones the mini series treatment works very well. I actually prefer this than to have it compressed into one movie. At least this gives the producers the opportunity to flesh out the story and let the audience absorb what's happening. I think if LOTR was given this treatment, then it would be a smash hit as well.
  20. It remains to be seen how well Cavill will play Clark Kent the reporter since we only see a short scene of him in the final part of the movie. Christopher Reeves definitely played Clark Kent very well, it so happens that the rest of the Superman movies he was in doesn't exactly have a decent story. I don't know about what you guys mean about emotions, but this scene sure is an emotional moment: Clark: Can't I just.... keep pretending I'm your son? Jonathan: You ARE my son.
  21. Not, I'm not up to date with the series, as of yesterday, I up to episode 8 of the first season. I don't mind spoilers, since I already know who dies and who lives. But I'm guessing that by the time I'm done with the books, I'll be the one who's going to be giving you spoilers. Season 3 & 4 only covers book 3, and I have with me books 1 to 5. So far the Tyrell's have not made an appearance, nor have I read of them, but I do know Joffrey is involved which affects Sanza, which in turn will involved Tyrion.
  22. Yes, there was this internet meme that I saw, it says that George R. R. Martin creates characters we love then kills them all off. I just recently started watching, and I'm reading the book as I watch it. Ugh, king joffrey is a prick. He's the main reason why all the houses are in a mess. I'm looking forward to the day that he gets killed. I would have said that GRRM keeps the most annoying characters alive, but then I remember what happened to Viserys and his golden crown. Jon Snow is also one of my favorite characters. I'm actually confused as who is supposed to be the good guy. We were all rooting for the starks and sees the Lannisters as the antagonist, but I can't say the same of Tyrion. Also, what of the targaryens? I wondering how all three of the events would combine in to one great climax. Would the great dragons join forces with the seven kingdoms to battle the white walkers?
  23. I watched it, and feel that it was an alright movie. Not much of a wow factor. But I do find the human factor of clark to be interesting. I like the way they put Jonathan Kent as the reason behind why Clark has this urge to help people. And the suffering he had after that final blow to Zod, but I wish they made it clearer as to why he was in anguish, was it because of what he did zod or what he wasn't able to prevent Zod from doing? I was looking forward to the famous phrase "kneel before Zod", but I guess they didn't feel the need for it. There were no funny moments, and everything in the movie was serious. I feel that this movie has redeemed the franchise from the disaster that was Superman Returns. So I guess the sequel will feature luthor then?
  24. Has anybody seen this? Is anybody reading this? I have the ebooks sitting in my playbook for a long time and it was just recently that I started reading it. What prompted me to read it? Watching the series of course. All I can say is, WOW!! This has got to be one of the finest high fantasy series that I've seen or read. The series is quite faithful to the novel with a few differences which is quite understandable. I'm sure you guys have an idea of what I am talking about. A Game of Thrones is the first novel from the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. I can't believe that I'm actually rooting for the Imp. I must say, Peter Dinklage does play Tyrion Lanister quite well. I can see why he won an award for his performance. I'm surprised that nobody has been talking about this here. It's one of the hottest series in HBO and everyone is talking about it. Any thoughts on this?
  25. On another point, piracy does have some benefits to a certain degree. It totally boosts the popularity of a certain brand or product. Although it may harm the original artist, I have heard some artists thanking torrent downloaders, as they are the ones that boosts their work into cult status.
