This might not be related to the topic on hand, but may be relevant. Funny thing that I heard. Christians have been bullying the Muslims for a long time (crusades, etc), so God gave all the oil to the Muslims. Find one Christian land that is rich with oil.

how do you have your tea?(or other hot beverage)
durendal replied to Jess♥'s topic in General 'whatever'.
Oh, you mean Chai? I think that's the traditional Indian drink. Although I am curious about the ginger, how strong is the ginger? I still prefer Kopi. -
i can see why america has problems with obesity
durendal replied to durendal's topic in General 'whatever'.
I will have to correct you on that. Chinese food in no way uses MSG. All of our recipes do not use MSG. In fact, MSG is not even part of our common kitchen ingredients (like salt, starch etc). Chinese food in your parts perhaps uses MSG, but traditional Chinese cooking does not have MSG. Chinese have this abhorrence towards MSG. MSG does give food their tastes, but it is not healthy. Do note that MSG was created in Japan. Ajinomoto ring a bell? Any decent cook knows full well that MSG is the "cheat code" for every cooking. -
The gathering of yin and yang. Onmyo-Za!
durendal replied to PrimalNemesis's topic in General 'whatever'.
I have heard that name somewhere before. Not sure where, but I have definitely heard of Kouga Ninpochou. Can't think straight at the moment since I still have jetlag. but I have definitely heard of Onmyouza. -
Ok, i stayed in indianapolis for a week. Let me first say that i am in no way a health buff. I don't eat a healthy diet and I'm not a wellness nut. I'm just a regular person who eats what i want when i want to. Now, based on the foods that i have consumed in a weeks time with different kinds of food, as well as the foods i ate the last time i was here, i found the food to be very unsettling. I mean majority of the food are oily. They have large servings of food, and down to the drinks, not really helpful with my digestion. God, it was really unhealthy even for my standards. And they serve you cold drinks all day long. Although the steaks are very nice and tasty, after one meal, i am really stuffed. And this is coming from a guy who can eat 2 whole 12 inch pizza in one sitting. And every morning, i only get a choice of coffee or ice cold orange juice. No other hot beverages? Cold beverages in the morning screws up your metabolism for the day. (well, it does in my case). Also, i can understand why most people would not want to eat vegetables. I love vegetables, even broccoli, but the vegetable here is tasteless. Every establishment that i have been to, their vegetable has no taste. I guess it is how they are customarily prepared. I don't know about you guys, but if i continue to have that kind of diet, i would either get bloated or have my life expectancy reduced. Do remember that these opinions are purely based on my experiences. If these are not what they are for you, then good for you.

Not really, just staying for a week, but it's a royal pain in the butt without data as i need to check my email from time to time. Not to mention for other uses like navigation and stuffs. Thanks for the address, i think the one in washington is just around the block. But i don't think i have the time and I'll be heading back in a few days so it's kinda pointless now. But at least i know the next time i come back. Besides, if i understand you correctly, it seems that tmobile wouldn't work.

Walked into a verizon store and they said they couldn't help me as they don't support unlocked phones. They pointed me to at&t which is just right next door. Walked into at&t, they can support unlocked phones but for calls and text only. No data. I don't need call and text, i need data for my emails. So they tell me there's nothing they can do for me. What a let down for two of the largest carriers. I hope i don't experience the same in t-mobile. Now i get why everyone is complaining about their carriers. But at least the customer rep at these stores are friendly. Now i wonder where i can find a convenient t-mobile store.

Thanks for the tips guys.unfortunately, I'm no where near vancouver. I'm currently in detroit coming from japan to my final destination in Indianapolis. I'm pretty sure my phones are capable of the frequencies in the US since I've been here before. I'm also pretty sure my phone is unlocked despite it coming from the carrier. (Long story, but based on info I gathered its unlocked, just can't test it since I don't know anyone with a microsim. ). Anyway, walmart is one of my destinations, so I guess ill go check it out later.

I guess nobody is from the US much less indianapolis. Oh well, i guess I'll just try my luck when i get there. Currently in japan waiting for my next flight. Shame too, i might have picked up something nice for the stand up guy who was willing to help me. Perhaps next time then.

Ok, this will be my first time starting a topic about a trip I'm going to, since usually I don't say a word where I'm going. Tomorrow, I'm going back to Indianapolis, US, for a business conference. I would like to ask about prepaid sim cards. Since our local network charge exorbitant amount for data roaming, I was thinking if I should just buy a prepaid sim while I'm in the US to save on data charges. I need my email and we'll be staying at a different hotal this time which I'm not sure if they have wifi access. I snooped around online and found the prepaid sim of T-mobile to be a viable option. But how much will this initially cost me? I saw that they charge $3 a day for unlimited data, and for one week that's around $21 (which is way cheaper since I'll be paying around $100 for data roaming using our local network). But what is the minimum amount I need to pay for this? How much does a prepaid micro-sim cost? Can I just walk into a T-mobile store and ask for a prepaid micro-sim? I'll be staying there for only one week so I'd like to know how much I need to spend for data using a local sim. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
durendal replied to Bio-Boosted Dude's topic in General 'whatever'.
Oh, found it. The series of music video from Daft Punk's Interstellar 555. http://www.japan-legend.com/forum/index.php/topic/3003-music-video-thread/page-2#entry45505 edit: Dagnabit, all the videos are gone. On well, you know what I mean since you're a bigger fan than I am. -
Daft Punk - Random Access Memories

Not a huge fan but loved their music video about the intergalactic space band. I think I posted that somewhere in this board. Was probably deleted since it was very old. -
I'm not glamorizing it. I'm just looking at it at another perspective. Sure, what happened to you was a terrible experience. But now everyone will think twice before messing with you. As for the things you left, yeah, it's mostly the music and the updates to the toku. I took the challenge to revive what you did with the music, but I caved in even before I started rolling. As for the toku stuff, I'm don't visit that side of the board much, but I notice that the activity has been waning. Well then, it's a good thing that Ryuki came back from the land of Gangnam then. Your statement just now raised even more questions. I do hope that we can see a lot of you more this time around. Since Ryuki is the Grand and Mighty administrator, we need someone who can kick him around a bit when he brandishes the whip too much on us.

Four Score and Seven Years ago. Well, Four months to be exact, but who's counting? Page 13 blue text at top right: Zoaformed Tetsu. In his own will, he becomes a sacrifice for the inhuman experiment of Cronos. second blue text: Lisker's Zoaforming scene. You can see how SFX was freely used. red text: Zoanoid Appears!! long text: A zoaformed Tetsu threw Lisker, but he was not angry, but made a brutal smile towards tetsu. In the next instant, the shaven head started to have goosebumps, the bones started to change, Lisker changed into a ferocious demon. He was also a Zoanoid. The fight between zoanoid has started. However, the attacks of Tetsu had no effect on Lisker. The difference in the strength were evident! Lisker boasts of being the strongest among all the Zoanoids, and there is no one who can be compared to his power, in which Tetsu is only a zoanoid who as a processed experiment. Lisker treats Tetsu just like cat playing with a mouse. Then reaching for the head of Tetsu, Lisker with both hands, like easily crushing a tomato, finished him. Tetsu lies fallen bleeding. The body of Tetsu who was out of breath, started to melt, down to his bare bones. Overhead, with his hands on the Duralumin case, Lisker gave a victorious cry. However, he does not know what was inside the case. Also, from yonder, there is someone who witnessed tragic event, he was not able to notice this-. blue text at bottom: With his head crushed, Tetsu lies breathless. In order not to leave proof when a zoanoid dies, his cells dissipate, leaving no traces. What remains are the clothes that he wears and what's left of his bones.

Hao! What took you so long? While you was away, a lot of us had to hold the fort for some of the things that you started. Sadly, none of us could keep up with what you did or had to patience to do it. But good that your back. You're mostly welcome with what's left of us. I am rather surprised about how you left things, and how you suddenly disappeared. If you don't mind, I'm dying to ask a lot of questions. Ryuki wouldn't say a thing about the stuff that concerns you. Seriously dude, there's a lot of stuff I want to ask you that Ryuki wouldn't tell. Prison? Are you serious? Now that makes you a total bad@ss!

I won't give you unsolicited advice since i don't think you need it at this moment. You're a big guy and you already know what to do. If you have plans of becoming more than friends, make sure that you're not in her "friend zone", else it would be very difficult to get out of it.

Ah, revealing things about Valkyria and then a break the next month. Mr. Takaya is such a cruel person.

Wow, we must be lucky then. Ticket prices here is only $7.75, and that is already on 3D which includes free popcorn and a drink. Regular 2D is at $5.5, but that's already at a high end cinemas. I watched it in 3D since that's the only time slot available that I can squeeze into. I would recommend you watch it. Don't get me wrong, I love the movie. I said "meh" mainly because it didn't have the "wow" factor that would prompt me to watch it again like some of the other Marvel Movies *cough* Captain America *cough*. I would say it is worth the drive and the ticket price. If not, watch it for the sake of Avengers 2. I think that should there be an Iron Man 4, it would have to be after Avengers 2. I mean, this is basically the start of Phase 2 of the Avengers. Next up would be Thor, then Captain America, then Guardians of the Galaxy, which is logical given the ending in the first Avengers movie, then would lead into Avengers 2. I personally liked how Marvel is handling the cinematic universe, where all the movies are related to each other, but have enough content as a stand alone movie.

You think it's crazy? Yeah, we Asian guys get to see it first, but we don't get to see the last minute additions. Like for Avengers? We didn't get the shawarma scene at the end of the movie. But then again, we're just 1 day ahead of the UK opening, which I guess is today, the 25th, right? Our time zone just happens to be 8 hours or more ahead of the rest of you guys. So when it's the 23rd for some of you, it's already the 24th for us. One thing about this movie is that it streamlines the movie Tony Stark into the comic book Tony Stark. I'm not going give any spoilers, but Extremis is mentioned a lot. And I mean a lot. Oh, and you'd be surprised about how they treated the Mandarin. Some might find it funny like I did, but others might find it infuriating.

First day of showing today and just saw it. I can't believe I skipped work just to watch this movie. Well, I did have to renew my drivers license so I guess that's a good an excuse as any. Anyway, the movie wasn't up to my expectations. It was a "meh" movie for me. Didn't see a lot of screen time for the Mark XLII. Funny after credits scene too. Didn't expect that guy to be there. After so many Marvel movies that came out, I can't believe that there's only a handful of people who actually waits for the after credit scene.

Shadow Skill (Heavy spoiler even beyond TV series)
durendal replied to durendal's topic in Japanese Entertainment
It's a shame too that no one is interested in shadow skill. I found my love for Shadow skill in the TV anime. The OAV just sucks animation-wise. -
Totally rocking the Z10. Yup, I finally succumbed to the Blackberry Z10. Didn't have to shell out another $500 either. I got it when I renewed my contract. Good thing that I waited months before I renewed my contract. Pretty interesting story actually. Rant is hidden in the spoiler. Feel free to skip.
