  1. I have absolutely nothing to contribute here as I have no in-depth knowledge of the scientific realm. But I do know that many religious followers are blinded by their faith. I do not blame the religion, but rather the people who brandish religion as their weapons and tools for manipulation. I do not like to generalize, but recent events have made my perception that most of the heads of religious sects are hypocrite. How can using a condom be equivalent to abortion? Sometimes, you'd wonder that they are thinking using their "little head" instead.
  2. Yes, Guild Wars is one MMO that comes to mind. Although you need to buy the software, you don't have to pay any subscription fee. Level is capped at 25, but it depends on how you build your character. If one build doesn't suit you, you can just change it in town later. I have seen a good built level 2 player overwhelm a poorly built level 25 player. That's what you call balance. You also don't have to level grind since levels is not what makes you powerful, but the way you combine your skills. It runs very smoothly on my old machine (intel P4) so it's not a resource hog. And it has a decent story that you can start and finish. So let's check: *No subscription fee - check, but you have to buy the software and it's free to play for life. *Good Character customization - check. You can actually strip down the avatar into their underwear. Nice if you have a female character and you type the command /dance *Not pay to win - check. No items for sale, just pure skill. *Good Story - check. You go through quest to unravel the story. You are in fact part of the story. *Easy to play with friends - check. This is an instance dungeon. So if you party with a friend, you only see your friends in the map. No PK during a quest. *Good Battle system - check. Like I mentioned, you can combine several skills to make awesome attacks. How else can a lower level player pawn a high level player? *Minimum level grinding - check. You level up easily and max level is capped at 25. *Not an FPS - check. You can actually see your avatar. *Compatible with average computer specs - check. My old PC can run this. I'm also playing Ragnarok Online. It's very old, but still very popular, probably around 5000 players each time I log on. Nice graphics, with set skills. This doesn't fit into any of the category mentioned above because of the following: -It may be free to play or with subscription depending on what region you are on. -The only customization you can do to a character is the head gear. -There are some Godly items that you have to buy in order to be uber powerful. -Sub par story if you count the quest. If not, no story at all. (And to think that this game is based on a korean Manhwa) -Easy to play and easy to get killed if you don't have good skills and reflexes. If you're a noob, you'll get killed a lot. -Battle system is a simple point and click, with the occasional keyboard presses to spam nerfing skills. -God awful level grinding. Took me years before I was able to reach level 99 just so I can revert back to level 1, to reach level 99 again. Took me weeks to level from 100 to 101. To this day, I have yet to reach the maximum level of 150. -Well, it's not an FPS, so I guess you might consider this its plus point. -It's old, so I doubt there is any system that can't run this game.
  3. While we're at it, why not let Schumacher direct it and let him kill the franchise like how he did to Batman. Maybe let them cast Clooney as Han Solo so he could play him gay. I'm wondering how Star Wars would look like with Zack Snyder in the helm.....
  4. Scarabs are somewhat similar to beetles. I believe beetles have been used countless times on a rider. Based on what your saying and my understanding, OOO would end up looking like Kuuga.
  5. May be old, but still hilarious. If you are a fan of Aoyama Gosho's Detective Conan, you will love Yaiba. Or have your tried samurai deeper kyo?

  7. If you want to go action figures, you also might want to check out fix figuration. They're basically the same 1/144 size figures but based on the designs of Hajime Katoki. Newer generation kids nowadays actually look good compared to the olden days, where you really have to paint some parts to be show accurate. Try a few HG kits and see how it feels. But if you have a lot of time and a close attention to details, you should get the MG or PG kits. On an unpainted kit, it usually takes me hours to finish an MG kit, and 2 to 3 days straight for a PG kit. Yes, the PG kit is that extensive. Took me 3 weeks to finish my PG Zeta Gundam, and that's not including the paint.
  8. If you don't want to paint, then you have to go HG and higher. HG looks decent without paint, but might have some small details that needs painting. For MG, you don't need paint at all. It has all the parts completely detailed and looks awesome when fully assembled. PG? What's to paint when even the fingers have multiple parts. You don't really need paint for most of the Gundam Models, you just have to be very careful when cutting them off from the runners. The model themselves don't really need paint. There are just some people out there (like me) who just want to improve the finish of the model. You usually paint the model when you do customization on the model, like sanding a specific part to make it look smaller, or adding putty to make it look bigger. But basically, you don't need paint for your model to look awesome. Paint just makes them Legen......wait for it......
  9. You missed out V Gundam, Igloo, F91 and Unicorn for the UC series. For the Alternate universe, you still have X, Turn A (or Turn Away as I'd like to call it), SEED, SEED Destiny (highly unrecommended), Stargazer, OO and AGE. You might want to check out the manga Crossbone Gundam. Sentinel is also nice. I wish they'd animate this. I had the whole novel posted in this forum, but I think it already got deleted.
  10. Yes, starcraft is that popular that they even have televised competition. I've seen one as we have a Korean channel specifically for that. A lot of my friends visit South Korea, and seems to be enjoying their tour over there. I on the other hand doesn't want to go there since the only thing of interest for me in Korea is the K-pop. Well, I am playing a korean game, Ragnarok Online, if you might have heard of it. but that's pretty much it.
  11. If I were you, I would skip Seed altogether and move on to Double O or even AGE. F91 wasn't really a solid movie, but you have to account for that if you want Crossbone Gundam, now that's were the good stuff happens. If you liked War in the Pocket, then I'm sure you'll love 0083 Stardust Memory. To this day, I have to say it was one of the finest gundam story ever told. It's something like a prequel to Z Gundam.
  12. Last time Death in the family happened, Jason Todd supposedly died. Funny thing too, because it was the fans who decided to let Jason Todd die and the writers chose to ignore this decision after decades. Maybe another robin is gonna die here?
  13. Google Translate? Would probably result you with Maiti doragon kami no gakko. Actually I checked. Kyoudai Ryu Jin no Ryuuha! 強大é¾ç¥žã®æµæ´¾ if you want it in official writing. Of course I am assuming that this school you're talking about is a martial arts school, else this would sound funny if you were actually referring to a real school. If it is a real school, then substitute "No Ryuuha" to "Gakuen".
  14. Here's the book I bought. Comparing it's size to a usual manga, it's tiny. Like an manga mini.
  15. Oh, but that's not Hanya. As I mentioned earlier, that was Gein, and the supposed knuckle head who was beating each other senseless with Sanosuke was Banjin. These two characters are supposed to only appear in the final arc of the manga. The fight with Saito was disappointing though. I expected Himura to put up more of a fight. I also noticed that even with the Sakaba Tou, he still hesitates in using it.
  16. There. Fixed it. It was missing a letter. Now that's strange, I'm sure as hell that my post wasn't like that when I last saw it. Did you fix it Ryuki? Much appreciated.
  17. I just watched Rurouni Kenshin the movie. Most of you guys would probably think, Hey, Den-O is Kenshin! They changed some of the elements but not a bad movie. Not much fighting styles are showcased. The only ones I remember is a few short seconds of Saito in the Gatotsu stance and Kenshin using Sou Ryu Sen. Also a shame Aoshi was not there but instead was replaced by Gein and Banjin who is supposed to appear much later in the Jinchuu arc. How can I post videos again? the usual code that I used doesn't seem to work anymore.
  18. Sure, here's the volume number and how they corresponds to the anime. Volume 1 - Aincrad (Main story) Volume 2 - Aincrad (side stories featured in anime episode 4, 7, 11 and 3 in that order) Volume 3 - Fairy Dance (first part of the Alfheim Online arc, the second arc in the Anime) Volume 4 - Fairy Dance (Second part of the Alfeim Online arc) Volume 5 - Phantom Bullet (not in the anime, features the game Gun Gale Online or GGO) Volume 6 - Phantom Bullet (not in the anime, second part of GGO) Volume 7 - Mother's Rosario (Story that focuses on Asuna) Volume 8 - Early and Late (side story featured in anime episode 5 and 2, also side stories in Alfheim not featured in the anime) Volume 9 - Alicization Beginning (New arc that returns Kirito stuck in the VR world again) Volume 10 - Alicization Running (continuation Kirito's adventure in Alicization) Volume 11 - Alicization Turning (Haven't read yet) I won't discuss about Aincrad and Fairy dance since these are already included in the anime. Phantom Bullet - Involved the game GGO. A government representative responsible in keeping the SAO players alive during the event asked Kirito to investigate another game which causes players to die in real life when they are shot online. Mother's Rosario - Focuses on Asuna during their time in Alfheim Online. Asuna befriends a mysterious player whom even Kirito could not defeat in a duel. Early and Late - Basically a side story book. the side story in Alfheim details how Kirito acquired the Excaliber (most powerful sword int he game) without using cheats from the system. Alicization - Kirito is stuck in a VR world again due to an incident that happened in real life. This VR world is not a game but a virtual environment the government created to develop AI. The time factor here is 10000 times faster, so it means that spending years in the VR environment is actually just a few hours in the real world. There is also a chapter written by the author not included in the official materials. This is supposed to be sometime in episode 10. It was removed probably due to the H nature being depicted. It was the infamous chapter 16.5, so I guess in the anime it should be episode 10.5.
  19. Yay! Finally got my hands on book 11 of SOA, Alicization Turning. At least I don't have to wait for the translations. My, the book is kinda small, smaller than your average manga, but at least I get a lot of inserts. Haven't really scrutinized the book yet since I got home late and didn't have the energy to fiddle with my latest acquisition. Damn, I should've brought the book to work with me.
  20. JJ Abrams Star Trek might not be made for True trekkies, but it certainly reached out to a lot of audiences. I would say that it was a success and might brand those complaining as an elitist. To be honest, I never really liked the Star Trek movies with the exception of the Original crew and First Contact. Generations, maybe, but that's stretching it a bit far. I hated Nemesis. I don't like my people dying even if they're not really alive. I enjoyed the JJ Abrams Star Trek because I was looking at Spock as Sylar. I was expecting him to use his fingers to telepathically cut off the brains of his enemies and mimic their skills. I never really looked at it to be faithful to the franchise in the beginning. Hell, even when Star Trek TNG was first aired, I was skeptical because it didn't have the original crew, but it grew on me. Should a Guyver movie be made, they should leave all the executive producing and directing to the japanese, and use Hollywood studios and budgeting. That's probably about the only thing Hollywood is good for.
  21. Aha, don't worry, that erie feeling you get is contained in Episode 3 only. That's a phase for Kirito and that's probably the only senseless death that you'll ever see in SAO. In fact, I don't even see it as a senseless death as this single event had a great impact on Kirito. This single event made Kirito who he will become. And it sucks to go through all that hardship only to learn later on that it's a waste of time. If you didn't like that, imagine how Kirito felt. The phrase "with great power comes great responsibility" sure does suit a situation like this. You'll see how in the next episode. I would suggest you tough it out as you still haven't seen the lighter side of the story. Most especially when Kirito goes Epic. Epicness happens in Episode 9.
  22. Well, you need to have a brooding Kirito in order to appreciate the happy Kirito. If you don't want to watch it because you are expecting a character you like to be killed, well, that's not gonna happen. Those who die gets to die early on, and you won't have to deal with the emotional hardship of seeing your favorite character die after they grow on you. Naruto is actually full of that. They develop a character to the point of you liking them only to have them get killed later on. *shakes fist at kishimoto*
  23. Hahaha, nice avatar. Elucidator and Dark Repulsor. SOA does have an interesting concept. It tingles the gamer in us with the potential of playing in a VR environment. It's exciting isn't it?
  24. Page 20 (Aah....nervous) Walking in the brick road covered by the high arcade, Naganuma Kiko drew a sigh. After arriving in Tokyo, this is the second time she talked to someone. The private railway in the Shinjuku station, the station personnel was the first one, and then the police officer. (Can't understand well) It was the first time in the capital, and she asked her classmate about the route. This girl, who went to a vacation in the capital, went to concerts and watching movies. With her words, she said that [talking in your normal language, if you go to Tokyo you won't be able to communicate], she was worried, but somehow made it. Even the houses on the street, comparing it with the skyscraper in Shinjuku, it was a big difference from her own home which continues from the residential district. It was the evening of Sunday. In front of the station are the confusing mass of people going home, the wave of people walking in the shopping district begins to break through, and suddently became dark. Kiko hastened her walking. The front that is cut by the arcade was a large highway. The cars heading towards the center of the city continuously go by. The atmosphere from crossing the highway and the street are different. The area with a wide site are connected to the old apartments. Page 21 Confirming the markings on the telephone pole, Kiko reached the house she was seeking. It looks like a house from a long time ago, with the narrow winding alleys. No matter how many dead end she faced, when she finally found it, it was already sunset. (there it is...) In front of the door with an earthen embedded nameplate, Kiko stood still. The surname [Naganuma] was indicated there. There was a thick woods in between the next houses. Pushing on the concrete wall fence, there were various kinds of small trees. Between the door, a thin deciduous tree is growing. Inside it, is the house of his uncle that she saw for the first time. In a 2 story western styled house, concrete walls, with ivy growing in the north side. There was a window in what seems to be like the attic. He was standing there alone in the bright spot, and later went into the dark area of the window. There seems to be only one light, which is somewhat lonely. Even in the neighborhood of our has has this kind of mansion, Kiko thought. Remembering herself that she was in an unoccupied house, she became as rough as she wanted. There was a face of a woman peeking in the window, she can here the sound of a violin inside the house, it had been the rumor.
