  1. Very cool! No sign of the shrine in the manga. You reckon Chronos had it removed?
  2. I have that problem. It's genetic. http://www.theonion.com/articles/scientists-discover-gene-responsible-for-eating-wh,691/
  3. side note here... if humans did lack morality, we would become a stronger race. we don't kill the physically weak because we are moral. This in the long run results in a genetic pool that has variety but in it's general essence is weaker than it would have been. humans are intellectually and technologically superior to humans of the past, but physically, we are generally weaker. If we lacked morality and were therefore perhaps considered an evil race, we would kill the weak people and the disabled and the low intelligence people, and the race as a whole would become stronger. selective breeding would result in a very powerful race. I can't imagine anybody being able to advocate such a thing... well of courser somebody did around the 1940's, but I believe the concept is factually correct, if not something that could be considered truly evil. It wouldn't work. How do we know it wouldn't? Because it's not what we became. We were not outcompeted by a human race that worked that way. So.
  4. Saw it just now. I don't think this is gonna save the franchise. Kevin Costner was great, that's true; Russell Crowe, not so much. I have to say, I liked Zod. They could have used a little more depth, but what can you do... the movie's already long.
  5. I don't think this is that sort of comic... We don't actually know their relationship yet. Not until.. the translation. The Japanese view of Americans is as idiosyncratic as the western view of the Japanese...
  6. The text says it's a 'suburb of New York'. I propose that it's Greenwich, Connecticut.
  7. Yes, it is sweet, but it's not so sweet if you realize he is going to join a super-secret organization and will do so well he'll be on the nomination to be a gruesome shapeshifting monster designed only for killing, and then ends up becoming an even more deadly monster that shouldn't even exist, before dying a horrible gruesome death at the hands of another such monster! And she's gonna go down the same road. Funny how you could slip this chapter into at least a dozen normal romance manga. Yes, indeed, you could go several different directions. Romance? Comedy? Drama? ...Hentai? Anyway... seems mr. Risker was an Old South plantation type of guy. Which is weird, since he was, what, mid-thirties or so a few months before M-day, which was in the 1990s. On the other hand: the mansion seems to be in New York. Oh, the suburbs of New York. ... Does New York even have suburbs? ... I'm gonna say that's Greenwich, Connecticut. That house would not look out of place there. Old money from the South who moved to the North when you weren't allowed to keep slaves anymore. Either that or this guy's family is the exact opposite - extremely straight-laced industrialists or something - and he just likes that kind of architecture.
  8. That's some powerful stuff. And worrying.
  9. So far as I know, that's King Lizard, who grew out of a severed arm of the original Lizard. He was eventually killed by the Lizard after the latter had gone feral.
  10. You mean this guy?
  11. What I don't understand is why believers cling to it with such bloody-minded determination. It has to be true, no matter what. Scary.
  12. YG - this is not about the Bible. It might be what the politicians let on, but they're not insane. This is about maintaining an ally in the Middle-East that all the oil-producing nations are scared of. Israel gets help from the USA, Saudi-Arabia and so on don't get nuked, and the USA gets cheap oil.
  13. ...They created one, they could create more... another thought: have the Zoalords attempted to control the Bio-Booster organisms themselves, with their own psionic abilities, sort of doing the work of a control medallion themselves?
  14. (reads scanlation) Hmmm... so the boost organism doesn't always consume the host. It can also transform it. Or... perhaps it does consume the host, but takes on some of its characteristics as a means of self-defense? That's diabolical, that's like 'The Thing'. Come to think of it: That IS what the Bio-Booster monster did after the Guyver's arm grew into the Sho-clone. It imitated him, but without the control medallion, it could not replicate his memories and personality... Less info in this one than I hoped. Two months of waiting!
  15. Well... then it's probably best to watch the first five episodes of the first season as one movie, "Darkness rising".
  16. I bet the bird/rat thing is just a metaphor. The end result looks like a chimera. I bet it's like "It's as if we took a cute little parakeet and an adorable little hamster and we mixed them together and the outcome was a gruesome, bloodthirsty monster. Who knew?" The 'bird' being Valkyria. So... the suggestion might be that she originally was a really nice person, but the Unit brought out the animal in her?
  17. Valkyria Forsberg (Folsberg?) Lisker.... apparently it's a real name, albeit an impopular one. http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/Valkyria The name 'Lisker' is mainly found among Ashkenazi Jews in the Baltic states. I suppose he must have been adopted. Only one question, really: Plus she seems to be having some problems... hope she doesn't end up the same way Oswald did.
  18. Watched it. Liked it a lot. Spoilers... I have to say I loved it, mostly. The parts I loved I really loved. The remaining 2% was okay.
  19. And no more enmity with Agito. What did he tell him?
  20. Ohoooo... Ohooooooo...
  21. I wouldn't. I want to own the volumes.
  22. Got no problem downloading it here... Hmmm. Much talking. Good. So... are we looking at the fragile beginnings of a possible détente between Chronos and the Guyvers? Shin seems to be a good guy, and he knows for damn sure Chronos is far from perfect. A third of the High Council has betrayed everyone else, even killing another member...
  23. The vampires are basically made of sand. They have no internal fluids but somehow remain capable of movement. And they garner enough energy from blood to be super-strong. Did Meyer even bother to write an origin story for them?
  24. What a load of bollocks. Now I hate Twilight even more.
  25. Everything that is loved is also hated by some asshole somewhere.
