wow, that is amazing, I wonder how it happened? was there a hold in the protective mesh of the microwave door?

Odin, do you mean episode 46? episode 46 was good for yoko and ryuji. unless episode 47 is also good for those two. for ep 45, the arranged wedding thing, it's been a pretty normal thing in a lot of asian culture. It was also a thing in western culture in the past. but in modern times, it is not a forced thing. I think it's a case of, they need to get a husband or wife before they are old and dried up. Dating can be difficult in some social groups. In Japan, dating is even more difficult since many people are averse to it to begin with. of course, the idea is to find somebody they are compatible with. They have to make the best of their situation. I think it's a shame that kind of thing doesn't exist in our culture because there are a lot of people who find it very difficult to find a partner.

Already looked. it's just the general stuff about his blood type etc. unless you mean the bit below that... It's sort of a general blurb, thanking people for buying the special pack and writing a little bit about what is contained. too much kanji and no furigana so I can't give specifics.

It's a difficult subject you've brought up. now we are in the territory of interfering with parenting styles or a person's lifestyle choices. It always concerns me when people talk about controlling how parents look after their children. If a parent has a strong faith and strong spirituality, it's almost like they are not respected enough to raise their child in a manner that they believe to be best. I don't have a lot of faith in doctors, mainly because they try to treat the symptoms not he cause in many cases. Does my honest and best interests for my own child, get overridden because people don't hold my views? Don't get me wrong, taking an abundance of a chemical that clearly damages a growing baby, this can be dealt with. But we are in danger of taking too much control over a persons life and that is a threat to liberty in general. It's also like the argument over abortions. can we say on one side, it is ok to kill a foetus by use of abortion, but not ok to allow a mother to have habits that may damage the foetus? it is the issue of pro choice vs pro life. I struggle with it myself. I have strong liberal views so I would not want to interfere with a person's life and their choices.. at the same time, if I see a child suffering, I am strongly inclined to rescue the child. I think in these cases, the best way to judge the situation is to watch and see if the parent is acting out of love or acting out of neglect. if there were a case of people having a lot of high fructose syrup for example, if this actually caused an increase of homosexual people, do we go to the parents and tell them and let them make a choice, or do we go to corporations and tell them and let them make a choice, or do we make it law that no mother can eat products with HFS in it, or do we make it law for corporations to not use HFS in products?

<p>I probably would have recognised that. I don't think he mentioned it.</p>

no, no, that's not what i'm suggesting at all. I'm saying that our genetics can define us to a certain extent from the beginning. this goes for people who are born hetero, or born homo or at a varying point along a sliding scale. I'm pretty much agreeing with the premise, just have a different idea of the ratio. I am under the impression that the percentage of people who may be genetically homosexual, is a lower ratio than what some may think. I realise that research has been done, but I am of the opinion that catchments are not always reliable. it's very hard to get a really good representation of the world population past and present and psychological studies are even more tricky. Did they study people from all different cultures, religions, race, country, intelligence level etc. ( I'm also thinking about genetic memory as a factor) I don't think a 'cure' ought to be considered for foetus etc. I think the only time it could be acceptable is if the adult is experiencing distress and they can use advanced genetics to alter the adult body and hormonal system and brain chemistry. I don't think people should consider fiddling with an individual's make-up before they are able to properly say the word 'no'.

I was just having a think about it, and I was wondering, will this be similar to castlevania in some ways? I was thinking in between stages, maybe there is a world map. it's just how i was picturing it, maybe you planned another type of structure? If you are planning on having any cutscenes... I may be able to help out in some small regard.

But the point was that the very foundation of warp theory is that space is warped. i.e. stretched and moved. That must be stuff for elementary school children in star trek times.
-
I don't think I made a contradiction but obviously I didn't communicate what I meant. I'll try again. I think that genetics determines our basic attractions, but then after we are born, our environment starts to shape our personality, our preferences etc. Many people like fishing because they spent a great deal of time bonding with their father while fishing throughout childhood. Men who are born hardwired to find women attractive, may not grow up that way. Various events in their childhood will result in adult men who may be gay, bisexual, frigid, or something else. psychological studies showed that men or women who experienced repeated sexual arousal around a particular theme or object, will relive that arousal when they see that thing in the future. a young boy who took 'shop' with a very attractive female teacher may end up aroused by cars in the future. a young boy who got punched in the groin every time he was sexually attracted to a woman, then emotionally tortured by other women... may start to become less attracted to women. and so on. This is the difference between genetically coded sexuality and psychological. this is what I was getting at.

what about Dai Ryujin Ken, or Oh Ryujin Ken? 大竜神拳 It's not exactly what you asked for, but has the same connotations. it is essentially 'great dragon-god style'. (style is usually linked to school)

What live-action series are you watching or have you watched?
Jess♥ replied to Toku Warrior's topic in Japanese Entertainment
That rurouni kenshin looks really good! (durendal, I've been trying to fix everyone's posts, it's an awful mess this software ) Aether, I had watched daimajin kanon in the past. I didn't find it that interesting to be honest. you can always have a look at it though. personally, at the moment, I am watching 'papa to musume', 'rich man poor woman' and sort of got 'honey and clover' on reserve. papa to musume is really interesting, it's the classic role swap theme. father goes into his daughters body and vice versa. -
it sure is well if we can't save many funds, then I'll just have to wait until I can get a job and purchase it then.

the video you posted doesn't appear to exist. -
I do think the main lungs are actually the megasmasher. It is labelled that way on the diagram. but aside from that, the OVA and tv series animations show his chest heaving for artistic effect. I think. but it is good to have some creative input IMO. it keeps people involved.

you know the software that we currently use for a forum? this is IPB. V-Bulletin is a different software to run a forum, but it does much more and is far superior. you know those errors that people are getting that shows strange code when they post? that won't happen for a start.
-
Hey Guys, I'm getting sick and tired of this glitchy software and I am sure a lot of you are as well. I've tried getting assistance with these issues and tried to fix them myself. it just seems IPB is sub standard software. I want to buy a V-Bulletin license. I've been looking at the license page and the price is $250. I don't currently have $250 spare so I want to ask you guys if you can help to raise the funds. Here is the page with the details http://www.vbulletin.com/purchases/ and a link to what the software can currently offer http://www.vbulletin.com/vbulletin4.html If you can help please say so in this thread. I can set up a paypal and I can keep you updated on what the fund total is. The current Forum would be converted into v-bulletin. no posts would be lost and we would all gain access to additional features. The release schedule of v-bulletin is different and each upgrade is accompanied with full support from them so if any issues arise, it wouldn't be just me trying to figure it out.

wow, I just found an interesting article that characterises the debate over JJ Abrams and his work. http://captainapril.blogspot.co.uk/2010/01/why-i-hate-jj-abrams-and-his-stupid.html?zx=74a4106f9d74c66e I never realised it caused so much trouble in the Star Trek community. Imagine that happening in our community? I mean, does anyone remember the occasional bit of upset about the 2005 Guyver tv series?
-
Youngguyver, you make some great points. The thing about the parallel to 9/11 ... I didn't see it because I'm not an american so I don't really totally get how that works, I mean, I don't feel the significance. To be honest, it seems a little bit cheap as far as issues go, but I guess if he wants to bring in the most people, he has to go for the obvious. can we bring it back to guyver? I know I have made a big issue out of trek but I don't want us to forget that the reason for that is to imagine how he would approach guyver.

things quietened down recently. The person who was causing a lot of the events in this house has left. things are actually reasonably comfortable here. though I am not sure if I have fully recovered yet. I'm feeling really strained lately. I'm really tired and I'm getting upset with people too easily. this could be due to feeling a bit more relaxed and tension being released... I flipped out today when trying to connect my computer, throwing books across the room. but I know that is a good thing because it is a release of emotions. If I had anything bottled up, then it is coming out. I am feeling a sort of calmness inside and i realised that I am tense. Also, I am in contact with my brother whom I have not spoken to for over 2 years. He's been away and I didn't have his contact details. but I'm finding that I am getting in a bad mood with other people after I have spoken to him on the phone. I think I may be angry with him on some level, but I can't figure out why. I guess the situation around him leaving is what is the problem. I can't talk about it really. I don't feel comfortable talking about it and I don't have anyone to talk to about it anyway. Maybe this is the source of my indigestion on odd occasions. Well I am reluctant to talk about the positive stuff in my life, because... well.. positive stuff is hard to come by and things are not set in stone yet, I don't want to jinx it. what I can say though... is that I am doing an online course. I think it is pretty rewarding and I think it will really help me. I am really hopeful that once I can follow through with my plans I can come back to the forum and report something really good.

I actually smiled when I saw Shou. I think that is enough to describe how well I think you did

I trust you. hmm... problem. I deleted it. this is mainly due to computer hassle I'm having at the moment though. it shouldn't be a problem to obtain it again.

ooh.. it's not really my style of music but good job on making it! so it is a dam? that is interesting! I wonder if the reason for the dam being stopped, is something to do with politics. I don't know much about Russian politics, but I know it is complicated. I have a globe on my desk from 1977, it has 'USSR' written on it.

I think I didn't explain my point of view very well. it's not the fact of people dying. of course it happens all the time. but life goes on. that is a very big part of the grieving process and is how we cope with the fact of death. but what we have in this situation is not a situation where life goes on. life doesn't go on, because this is not life. This is essentially the same as a battle royale. except they aren't pitted against each other, they merely need to escape. The entire anime is in a situation where the main objective is 'not to die.' Even though Naruto has some major characters fall, it had meaning every time. The last one to happen took me by surprise. I still haven't fully realised it. It hasn't quite sunk in, but the reason for it was very clear. it happened for a reason. In SAO, I feel like all these deaths are just senseless and wasteful. it is sort of like a horror, but without the blood and gore. I don't think I can continue to watch something like that. It's why I don't watch things like final destination.

yeah, I can understand that. a lot of American bands and perhaps british bands as well, they have a negative outlook. they prefer to wallow in self pity rather than look for a positive course of action or point of view. There are some exceptions such as the black eyed peas, but I find most are negative, like marilyn manson or limp biskit. But I find that even when Japanese bands are a bit aggressive or maybe a bit sad, there is always that attitude of 'ganbatte' or 'faito'. basically a hopeful attitude and a determination to win. I also love some of their experimental music. I love a few tracks from the hellsing anime. world without logic is a favourite.

@guyverfan data would still be alive, but i guess that is neither here nor there. oh yeah, also Tuvok and maybe seven, her implants may extend her lifespan perhaps. i see what you're saying. this is beyond the timeline that we would even want to deal with anyway. That is something I can accept. hadn't seen it that way. but still, I think it's important to take note of the stark lack of depth in star trek 11. but it could be as was said, there may be a focus on societal issues in the upcoming movie. I'm not sure, I feel like I've been burned by JJ abrams. I still can't really have any faith in him at this point. I mean, I would have thought the first go-to director for guyver would be guillermo del toro? I certainly agree with the things you said about spielberg et al. @guyver0 I totally agree, I was thinking earlier about how I would feel if it were my franchise. I would want to have maximum control over who directs, the screenplay, art direction etc.
