  1. heh heh.... I just hope more people can keep an open mind. I think that there are many people who are not scientific, they take the scientists word for it like a new gospel. My study is far from complete also, probably far less complete than some, but during my studies I have found lots of problems with current theories. The jury is still out on the big bang theory even. I have a few candidates for the various evidence of the big bang. for example, red shift could be due to gravity or 'warp ' bubbles in space. maybe it is 'bad science' or just philosophy, but that is where good science comes from in the first place. i appreciate that heat death is what it looks like will happen, discounting the things we don't know.. but I have an issue with that. I mean, a hyena looks like a wild dog in many ways, but it is more closely related to cats. I don't think men of science ought to be doing such silly things like making guesses as to what it looks like will happen. it's just too far reaching.

I don't believe I am able to do anything about this. I've looked at the attachment data and the attachments appear to have been orphaned. I don't know how this happened, it is possible that your post got separated from the attachments you posted. the attachments appear to be physically present but they are listed as not being linked to any post. Due to security, I am unable to access them. The only thing I could do is delete them.
  3. yeah of course you're right, the petty politics is too much. but what can you do? the fat cats are running scared. they are afraid they'll lose control if you actually start dealing with issues and getting on to the real meat. I'm commenting on a youtube video currently that illustrates perfectly just how broken the system is. it perplexes me how they can be so stupid to not see how they are making education inaccessible and wasting government funds.
  4. making weed legal is a good debate though. if you made cannabis a legal product, it can be regulated and taxed. And that will completely wipe out the current spending on the 'war on drugs' if they instead regulate the drugs, turning expenditure into income.
  5. I watched it all the way through. Gripping.
  6. oh yes, taekwondo and also archery. yeah self imposed change is good. the thing that's forcing me along, merely helps me keep true. If I didn't want to go to South Korea, I could get a different home in Wrexham. it turns out the main thing that would keep me here is the comfort and familiarity of my childhood home. Well, not the only thing. I also have friends here. That's gonna sting. Webcam is a good investment though.
  7. The culture was a cause for concern for quite a while. I knew nothing about South Korea and was why I was quizzing people on what they think about the country, what is famous about it, what is popular there etc. I found out a lot of stuff such as Samsung, Hyundai and MMO games etc. It was tough going actually, it has taken me a long while to get to the roots of the culture to see what it's really like. there is not much info about it so I actually hope to change that with my video blogging. I discovered eventually that it is very similar to Japan in many ways. There are some major differences though of course. I mean for example, their attitude to pornography is almost a polar opposite to Japan (It's banned in Korea). I understand what you mean about envy and not envy. I have the same sort of thing. on one hand, I like my current situation. on the other hand, I do not want to live a static life and grow old in the same place having done nothing. I'm kind of lucky really since I can't change my mind and stay here. This house is not going to be available for much longer. I do have an idea of when I will be leaving. my visa application arrived at the consulate today. it'll take 5 working days to process and when I get it back, I will be booking a flight. so I'll be leaving Thursday or Friday next week.
  8. Thanks, yeah, well I'm not worried too much really. North and South Korea are technically still at war since the end of world war II anyway. I'm actually viewing that more positively since it holds potential for more substantial change. yeah it might take me a while to adjust to a different pace. but I hope to be fairly available. it depends on my schedule but my contracted hours are around 30 per week. plus prep time.
  9. It's gotten to a stage where I think I can tell you guys what is going on for me. I am currently waiting for my South Korean E2 working visa to be processed. When I receive my visa I will be flying to South Korea where I will be teaching English for at least a year. I will still be a British citizen of course, but my 'home' will be South Korea. Some of you know, some of you may have guessed. It's a pretty big change and it's been difficult for me to process properly. What does it mean for the site...? Well I will be on-line at different times and possibly less frequently due to work. I'm not sure how I will be able to operate since I need to learn how Korean law enforcement operates, I will not post any new guyver chapters because of that. well somebody else usually helps us out with that anyway so it shouldn't be a major issue. What does it mean for me? New place, new society, new culture, new language, new people, new everything.

you have a lot! I'm pretty jealous! I used to have a load of the comics but I must have lost them or something. I for one, would love to have some scans of the covers!
  11. Unfortunately, in the UK, American Football is looked upon with derision because people say they are basically playing rugby but they wear armour because they are afraid of getting hurt. Well I am sure those guys would be excellent Rugby players if they chose to give it a go. English Football is pretty pathetic though, I watch them running about and one guy might catch the other one on the leg a little bit and he'll roll on the ground crying. can't stand it, even though it is the most popular sport here. Rugby is the only team sport I will watch because it holds the essence of the Welsh man.
  12. congrats! I understand how you feel because Wales won the six nations rugby last year. unfortunately this year they lost to Ireland.
  13. I was thinking the same as LS, the plates look square, but it's not because of corners, it's because of the edges. the edges follow a perfect line and it makes it look too basic. it's because it appears like a flat plane stuck to the front of him. needs some perspective and moulding. like this
  14. it's impressive to see the party's you guys had! There was a special showing a bar in new orleans, so many people and such a great atmosphere! it's a little embarrassing though... of all the pop culture references I have seen for superbowl, the parties, the adverts etc... I am still unclear on whether superbowl is American Football, Baseball or Basketball! Judging from the terminology I've heard people saying, I'm gonna guess football.
  15. I see what you're saying. I think it's pretty bad though, when People like Professor Brian Cox make TV programs describing these events as though they are already confirmed. I think it can make a lot of people feel very depressed and hopeless. It's taken me a lot of research to ascertain that the theory is actually quite flimsy. I mean, they just don't even take into account things like dark matter and dark energy etc. Also, there is a very low understanding of things like entropic gravity and quantum gravity.
  16. I like this quote as I do not agree with the 'generally accepted' idea of heat death. It offends me that programs come on TV describing this 'heat death' as a fact, as an inevitability. when they don't even understand what dark matter etc is yet? how can they possibly cite this garbage as if it's a done deal? http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=24486.0
  17. hey all, I did some design work for a guy I know in Japan, take a look at the video he produced using the design -
  18. A nice question could be, what is a day without the turning of the earth? people also don't give allowance for ephemeral phenomena. who says god did all these things in a physical space? many religious people try to argue with scientists in absolutes when they can't even assert that authority since words can generally be open to interpretation. Don't get me wrong, I don't really subscribe to the big bang theory, but I certainly don't ignore the evidence that exists. evidence which the creationists theory seems to ignore. a person who wants to argue that theory, could say "is it possible the earth as it was 6000 years ago, actually blinked into existence at that time, along with all the history of billions of years, placed there for an as yet unknown purpose" I suppose the answer could be yes, it may be possible, but are we as intelligent beings to believe that, or should we instead go with what our evidence shows? A sensible person should indeed believe the evidence of their own eyes and investigations rather than a book. that doesn't mean allowances cannot be made for what the inner message of the book is trying to say. that is personal choice. was the book inspired by god, is it the word of god, maybe, if people want to believe that, fine. but then they need to reach a resolution, why are there other religious groups with a book of their own claiming the same thing. perhaps each is right, perhaps there is a god that inspired each book, but the way it has been perceived has warped the message. and let us not forget that the pope sits in the vatican surrounded by riches and worshipped almost as a god. why would a person or group of people want the religion to be accepted by millions of people. 1. write a book 2. claim it tells the word of god 3. ??? 4. profit (prophet?) I'm not saying it's false, but I think to many are guided by others instead of making their own minds. they call Jesus the shepherd because the followers are sheep. well not all of them, but a great deal are unthinking livestock. I have my own thoughts about what christ is. I don't get my thoughts from a book. I observe the universe and people in it, and formulate ideas based on observation. I know a lot of people who do the same. sorry to ramble.
  19. that guys first point, information doesn't arise from dead matter.... well the precise pulse of a pulsar certainly arose from 'dead matter', so why not other complex patterns, such as snowflakes or other crystalline structures. to argue that, is to ignore all the experiments that have been done concerning the formation of amino acids etc. it just so happens, that *this* form of patterns, and *this* for of chain reactions and *this* nucleic acid and *this* genetic sequence, resulted in a sapient life, however that is no grounds to assume that other patterns, chain reactions, nucleic acids or gene sequences could not have yielded sapient life. information requires a designer... my eyes receive information in the form of light. my eyes measure that information and make judgements based on that information. that information does not have to have been designed. information does not need a designer. designs need a designer. something which is clearly not present in the clumsy forms that we see in nature. It's wonderful to see the religious people getting a chance to fully articulate their views. it's saddening on the other hand, to see the scientists getting cut off every time they start to make a point. That guy in the glasses is starting to make me angry. I think the other scientist dude got it spot on. scientists are willing to change their mind. some theories are a bit like dogma.. some scientists can get a bit too passionate, but the religious guys just seem to be ignorant. it is an interesting program. though it seems familiar. I think I may have seen it before. I shan't watch it all now, I may continue it later.

    viz covers

I'm afraid I only have viz books 1-4 so that is why they are on the wiki
  21. Durendal, you made me consider trying Guild Wars again. I didn't like it first time because it wasn't a persistent open world. But recently I have been playing games with more focus on the content rather than socialising and exploring.
  22. it's a tough call. World of warcraft mists of pandaria is pretty awesome and I love it. unfortunately you have to play through the rest of WoW and you have to pay the sub fee. that is a lot of money, core game, 4 expansion packs and then you have to get through the previous expansions to get to the content you want.. sucks. but I am prepared to do it for the wonderful experience that is the pandaren. if you want to see why I say this, you can try the introductory area for the pandaren for free with a trial account. another game I would like to play is TERA but my computer runs at a lower framerate. I'm not sure what the requirements are for a good framerate, but the game is very nicely put together. the gameplay is very action oriented. the fights are not a series of button clicks, it's more like skyrim or some other console game and you can use an xbox360 controller to play it. The design is lovely and it has a nice atmosphere that feels rich and involved. I haven't seen much of the story, but what I have seen suggests that it may be pretty nice. it has a trial available and is going free to play very soon if not already. Really, the one MMO that I really want to play, is not out yet. I have signed up for the beta and i can't wait t play it some day. that is the elder scrolls online. everything I've seen about it makes me excited. I've played some other MMO's that aren't so hot in terms of story or involvement, but could be your cup of tea because they are quality games in other ways. ROSE online was pretty good. Runescape is incredibly popular. There is Dragonball online.. I'm not sure on the development status of that one. when I tried it, I had to spoof a KSSN (korean social security number) to create an account and try it out. Of course there is guild wars. I'll let Durendal talk about that. It's tough, you need to find an MMO that is currently popular and not dying. WoW has been accused of dying and the game is unbalanced at this stage. If you want to experience What WoW was good for, you would need to time travel back to when the burning crusade was released. that's when I started and it was rich with interesting players ( as well as the doofus's) You would actually find some good MMO stuff on a roleplaying server. it can be a bit weird but also very intriguing. but there is the cost of course. I dunno what the community is like in the other games. TERA should be vibrant since the game just went free to play i think. Guild wares 2 will be vibrant if it is even out yet. Elder Scrolls Online... well we'll have to wait a while for that one.
  23. I don't know anything about the original figure, but that has to be a recast.
  24. hmm, thinking a bit more... if the edo tensei was developed by the second hokage, then doesn't this mean if orochimaru leaves him with free will for a second, he can become like madara?
  25. spoilers of course. so.... didn't minato seal half of Kyuubi's chakra within himself inside the shinigami seal ? so if minato is now released from the shinigami seal, doesn't that mean that the kyuubi should now be twice as strong as what we have seen?
