*Jess♥ Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Imagine someone with extremely suitable genes... but with the personality of a lichen. No! I just love this part yeah it is an interesting thought. we do not see the zoalords with any apparent interest in women, but then it is largely military. The cronos combatants do not exhibit any particular interest in women, not that we have necessarily seen the appropriate situation... but the gregole we saw in post x-day chapter, certainly seemed to be interested in impressing the ladies. should we assume the zoalords are frigid or should we assume they merely don't get the opportunity? another interesting thing to consider is if the zoalords could be considered lost numbers. i mean, are they sterile? they have obviously undergone extreme processing and this kind of thing surely effects their hormones. guyot had increased strength in human form so it seems there are some changes to their human form despite what i suggested earlier. so their hormones could be altered in human form. hundreds of years is a long time to go without companionship... but they don't appear to be vulnerable in that way. thinking about it... when a person becomes a eunuch, their sex drive is reduced, isn't it? perhaps the zoalords are technically eunuch's? I mean, perhaps they have the right parts... but maybe we have something that is almost like what happens to transgender people? It seems either the oestrogen or the lack of testosterone, makes everything reduced in it's grandness. 1 Quote
daveblackeye152 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Yes transgendered Zoanoids is an interesting thought. Are women allowed to be turned into Zoanoids or not? I mean it's one thing for Takaya to just default to men but it's another if someone or himself flat out said women can't be processed. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Well, I don't know about canon, but I tend to use this in my stories; from what I've seen of how Chronos works in the story, it seems to fit. One of them existed for every hundred Standard Zoanoids. They were not Lost Numbers, nor were they Hyper Zoanoids. One thing that all of them had in common was their build: they were lighter, smaller, and faster than even the fastest Hyper Zoanoid. They were also united by purpose: not as frontline soldiers, but as anti-insurrectionists. They were there to make sure that any rebellion within Chronos would be dealt with swiftly and efficiently. The most obvious thing that all of these newly awakened Zoanoids had in common though was this: they were all female. It had originally been Dr. Balkus’ idea, since who would suspect such an unassuming creature as a woman to turn out to be such a formidable warrior. And Dr. Balkus still considered it one of his more brilliant ideas, even in spite of the rise in status that some females had managed to attain. After all, females were looked down upon as weak and inferior in enough parts of the world that his female Zoanoids would not be expected until it was too late. One of them existed for every hundred Standard Zoanoids. Quote
*V Guyver Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 We can speculate on the females, but I always figured it was for the same reasons males fought in wars more often than women. 1. men on average have 5% more body muscle than women. They are capable of shorter bursts of greater energy than women, who tend to have a more regular output. 2. breeding, if a lot women are killed in a battle, and there is only a handful of women left. No matter how big the population of males, there is a very short reproduction cap. If it's a lot men killed, and a few left, but a large number of women left, you can easily repopulate the numbers with a much higher cap than the previous situation. 3. Men have more stable periods, less emotional strain, less sanitation issues, meaning more combat stability and less likely to have infections on a field. 4. Men don't get pregnant, so they don't have to be pulled off the field for maternity. 5. sexism, yeah I put it out there, seems Chronos is sexist, and I'm calling them out on it. Seriously, almost exclusively made up of men, and in the years I've seen Guyver I can only think of two female Chronos staff: Guyver II female and Barcus's female assistant. As for Zoalords and there sex drives. I'm pretty sure they either have their own... hobbies, or have rules against sex or some other issue. Consider how old they are, they either have a harem, or got bored of women. One of my friends always told me about his plot device for a sex doujin between Barcas and that lone female staff employee. Stupid idea, though the idea of Barcus suddenly exhibiting qualities of Master Roshi... is strangely gratifying. Quote

I'm not going to get into the Zoalord sex thing. However it is worth noting that with the exception of No.5 none of these reasons apply to Zoanoids, just saying there ain't no reason to have more women in Chrono's. Quote

I could see Kahn or Heyrein going in that direction, but not Barcas. Another thought that came to mind in terms of Zoalords and women: Shin, Purgstall, and Edward seem to be the type that would not take up another companion if their wife had died before or after they became a Zoalord. They just seem that way to me since they are very noble in mind if not status. 1 Quote
Salkafar Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Chronos is sexist; in the years I've seen Guyver I can only think of two female Chronos staff: Guyver II female and Barcus's female assistant. Who, in my mind, are the same person. Also, she wasn't Barcas' assistant - she was a Chronos Japan administrator, quite possibly the highest-ranking Chronos member after Genzo Makashima. And we never learned her name... >>sigh<< 1 Quote
kyouki Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Few questions: 1 - I see they have air conditioner. But do you insert the plug in a place like Shila island??? 2 - Did Alky moved to that little house or did Apollon/Imakarum moved Alky(undressed him and put him to bed)? Quote
LordSpleach Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 The air conditioner is connected to the solar panels on the roof. Quote
Larz Zahn Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Nah all the power cables in the house run to under alkys bed. He is the generator! 2 Quote

*Jess♥ Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 As stated with last issue, Guyver advocacy will make a scanlation available to those who pre-order volume 30; the volume that this chapter will be part of. It is our intention to use this method to properly support the author of the work and the publisher. Quote
Salkafar Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Oh. Where do I pre-order it? And vol.29, for that matter? They're not very expensive anyway... Quote
*Jess♥ Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 There is a thread for it a little way down the page. Should I make it a sticky? volume 29 was already released so we can't pre-order that, but I did make a poll asking about back issues. I'm considering how we could have volume 29 available for ordering. It's not cost effective to order them one by one so we'd have to do something like 10 orders before we can obtain them. simply because I currently don't have any capital. it's a bit awkward but then at least it is possible. edit: I pinned it, so it's right at the top now. Sully Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Great chapter, I like how this is being setup and simply can't wait for next months chapter to see how they react when they realise just who exactly is in that bed 3 Quote

They think he was kidnapped too........ How the heck is this going to pan out?? 1 Quote
Larz Zahn Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 How crazy would it be that ally actually has a split personality?? When he's human and happy he's like a little kid! Then a of a sudden he's reverting tothe most dangerous being on the planet! Seriously i really hope this isn't some kind of scam being put on by alky and apollyon. Gain the trust of the Segawas then set them up later. Quote
durendal Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Didn't we last see Alchanfel flying off to somewhere? Is the bed in his temple so uncomfortable that he had to get away and sleep in a nice bed? Or is it because he was tired of Balcus' whining that he just have to get out of there? Quote
daveblackeye152 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Yeah I remembered that a few days ago too. Quote
