Not meaning to rock the boat. I was surfing around the net and I found this topic floating on Reddit. Not sure if its a big deal at the moment....and people are likely to fuss and complain about how things work in just about anything. But I so happened to find this floating around on Reddit. Its not entirely positive. Actually the truth how I found it was I typed in Guyver and Japan legend into Google and this came up. But it does concern Japan Legend. So I thought I'd bring it to Guyver Advocacy's attention much like that recent topic about other sites taking advantage of free manga and pasting it on their sites. Except....well...its people griping. htt…

There is still some differences among the names we use for various characters and things. The one that came up more recently while working on translations was "12 heavenly generals". I had discovered a while back that this was a reference to a buddhist thing. So the correct translation that we use for that has to be 12 heavenly generals. so what other things do we need to get sorted out for teh scanlations? I think it would help if we draw up a list of generally accepted character names and the most logical use. I'm not suggesting everyone HAS to use them, but more of a case of what we use for translations. I mean, Archanfel is one that has so many different pe…

It's all in the name of science...weird science. I've been fiddling with this for a while, but I've been wondering...how would the "brains" of the Guyver-verse (i.e. Balcus, Hekkering) stack up to other genius-level characters from other universes?

I don't advocate piracy or other questionably legal things of the like, but on You Tube, someone has posted the entire Guyver OVA soundtrack (AKA Guyver Special). Since it's relatively rare and kinda expensive to get now (due to it being out of print for several years--I don't know why some haven't petitioned King Records/Sony Music Japan for a re-issue, though I already know why), I'd though that I'd share the You Tube links, especially to those who do as I do and use You Tube videos are backround music/audio while doing other stuff online: Part 1: Part 2: Includes alternate versions of the opening and ending themes ("Bio-Booster Armor Guyver" …

"See you in hell Guyver!" Is it me or is this something of a Zoanoid catchphrase or battle cry. This line has be yelled in both the OVA's and the Series a few times, when ever I think of zoanoids fighting guyvers that line always pops into my head. Do they yell it because they fully expect to die in the battle? I mean they will but its makes me feel bad for them. They have no choice in fighting the guyver, they must do as a zoalord commands. Poor scrubs .

This may seem more like a rant or maybe a vent, but honestly, we all think about it. Why does Guyver not perform so well with producers or audiences? I mean it definitely has appeal. It has an amazing story, incredible battles/fight scenes, a complex plot, memorable characters, and has influenced scifi in many ways. It's sparked three versions of animes and two films. I just don't get it. Why so many people prefer things like fullmetal or some of this newer stuff that's coming out that I think is garbage. Even if Guyver didn't or doesn't get another chance of a remake or continuation it's still a great show that could be aired, I can guarantee it would gain a great fanbas…

Been thinking about this lately. Just with this forum in general. Nothing to do with the manga or the scanlations. My question as my exact question is if Yoshiki Takaya would be offended with some of our comments, feedback, and opinions? I know a few of the GA members have expressed disappointment in the past in a few threads on the forum. I'm not stating any of it was overly negative. But I'm wondering how Yoshiki would react to it all a as a scope or spectrum in general. I myself and a few of the other members....haven't exactly said nice things..but still constructive criticism about his work although we're hopeful and die hard fans. I know some of us ge…

Hello fellow Guyver fans! I know Chuang Yi has stopped printing manga for a while now, but does anyone know where I can buy the english Chuang Yi Guyver Volumes. I have the first two, I'm after the rest. The wiki on this site says there are 9 volumes, but I have read on other threads there is 10? Can someone confirm? I have e-mailed Comic D Legacy (I read on some threads they are a realible source) with no response as of yet. If anyone can give me any information on where I can buy them online, it will be greatly appreciated! Or if someone is willing to part with their collection, I'll be happy to give them a loving home! Thank you!

Hey guys! I apologize if this question has already been asked, but I am in the middle of watching the second Guyver movie and I've made an interesting observation. Basically when Sean first arrives to the dig site and starts exploring and seeing all the different cave drawings and comes to the drawing of the Guyvers, I noticed something. In Sean's drawing there are only three Guyvers depicted, but on the cave wall there are four and I started thinking what if this isn't forced perspective where all the Guyvers are the same height, but rather an actual height chart that depicts: In the bottom left the smallest figure is somewhat of a Muave color and I think…

Hello Fellow Guyver Fans, I have been lurking here on and off mostly from Google searches about Guyver and just wanted to mention Kinokuniya sells the latest volumes in store and the one I went to (42nd st NYC) said they would order any back issues from Japan without any extra fees but once the order is placed there are no refunds. If you have one near your area you should check em out, they have a bunch of other manga in Japanese and makes me really wish I could read kanji. Anyone else know any good Japanese bookstore chain or local import shop? (I am in NYC but don't mind travelling) Also Thanks for the scanlations!!! I would have never gotten this far into the…

Would anyone say that Sho might be depressed or have a lot of anxiety; maybe some post traumatic stress from fighting his constant battles with Cronos? Also, some anxiety and worry about what could happen to Mizuki and Tetsuro as well. I know in the anime after the unit killed his father, Sho had a nervous break down and couldn't use the unit for a while. How is it possible Sho was mentally blocking the Unit from equiping to him after his father died? Post Traumatic Stress?

I looked everywhere I could online and still have a feeling i'm missing chapters. at the end of chapter 179 it showed a picture of agito going to meet sho, and the beginning of chapter 180 Guyver 1 already cut off a leg and an arm of Guyver 3, is it supposed to be like that or am I missing some chapters ?

There is something I have noticed about Sin Rubeo Amniculus. In volume 22, chapter 138, page 4 Sin said that he would take Sho away from the rogue zoalords if they had successfully captured him, and guard him under his responsibility. This got me thinking about a few things. Would Sin have kept Sho under his protection as a guest, or a prisoner of Chronos? Would Sin have Sho experimented on? Would he try to have the Guyver unit extracted from Sho somehow? From what I could gather on Sin's personality he is a pretty stand up guy. He seems honorable, and cares about his fellow colleagues. I would even go out on a limb and say that he probably cares about the well being of t…

So we have all had our new guyver figma's and had chance to try them out. Whats your verdict , do you prefer the old figure or new one. Do you like the muddy colors of the new figure ? Do you think the movable joints are stronger? Overall quality ? Who know in years to come will they be rare and pricey which figure will hold the most value. Just a few of many questions to start this thread.

So I dont know if this has been brought up here, but I posted this a while ago on Facebook and feel its time we have some sort of official title for us as fans but what do we call each other? When I talk to other nerds and say I am a Guyver-Fan they go "OH MacGyver!" So that made me start thinking. There are G-Fans for Godzilla and other Kaiju fans, Whovians for Doctor Who fans, Trekkies for Star Trek Fans, Fannibals for Hannibal Lecter fans. Hell even Twilight fans are called Twihards or Twihearts. Someone on Facebook suggested "BioBoosters" and a Co-Worker who also likes Guyver suggested "Zoa-nerds." I am open to suggestions for a list in which we can take a poll on t…
