It's quite alright. Do pardon me as well if I sounded rude. The thing about the dowries is not really greed but more on pride. One family would give out much more expensive dowry gifts expecting the other side to do so as well. It's an old tradition but one that is full of drama. It's actually more of control by the in-laws, as whosoever gives the most expensive items is the one who has more authority. In short, money talks. Anyway, going back on the real topic, I've never been to Korea, but a lot of my friends have been there for vacation. They say that the place is clean and the people are friendly. I don't know where you guys got that idea of China but I have to disagree with the lot of you. In YoungGuyver's case, it would probably be an isolated incident and would depend on which territory he was in. Dowries are a cultural custom. The reason why some families require them is to make sure that their child can be taken care off by the person their child is to marry. Also dowries are two ways, the groom requires to give the bride's family certain jewelries, and the bride is required to give the groom's family an equivalent amount of jewelry. An example, the groom needs to give the bride an expensive gold or diamond necklace (pearls are a no no), while the bride requires to give the groom an expensive watch. How expensive the gifts should be depends on how the two families agree. Think of dowries as an engagement party. It is a custom still observed today to make sure that the future of the bride and groom would be prosperous. Just think why there are so many successful Chinese businessmen. I may not live in china, but some of the insinuations posted above are bordering insulting to me, and I know that this was not intentional. Ryuki, how do you find the real people in South Korea as opposed to what you see in the internet? Would I be wrong to think that there was a bit of difference in your expectations? Vanity is part of South Korean lifestyle, so I could be wrong.

Hmm... for us we are currently in a transition period where we will be implementing the K+12 program. In the old system, there was Pre-school which is nursery, kinder and prep. Next is elementary, which is from grade 1 to 6, and high school which is from 1st year to 4th year. After that is college in which years depends on the course you take. Average college years is around 4 years. Now, with the implementation of the K+12 program, we will be adding a 7th grade in elementary and a 5th year in high school. Also, a lot of people here does not have the luxury to attend basic education. An average family send their kids to a private school. Public schools are just scary, where they cram around a hundred kids in one classroom. Teachers are underpaid, and the majority of children ever finishing high school is very low. I guess majority of the reason is poverty, not that the family can't afford to pay for the school, but that the children has to work in order for the family to eat. It pains me to read that there are those people overseas who doesn't want to go to school because of a whim, while countless numbers of children over here would give up everything just to attend school. They would even walk miles just to go to class everyday.

I dare anyone to say that there is another English website out there that has more comprehensive information on Guyver than the one hosted here. I put a lot of effort researching (more like copying ) and organizing the structure of the wiki. I'm glad that the years I've spent on building the content of wiki wasn't wasted. I hope you guys don't find my post to be arrogant, but I've really spent a lot of time with that and it's good to know that your work is finally being appreciated. This has much to do with the evolution as well. People are now more enlightened to the real world and how it works. You could say the the mental capacities of man has evolved. And since religious leaders are chosen by humans, that in itself is already a flaw. To be a religious leader, you have to be infallible, which no human is infallible. Funny too because there is actually a dogma called papal infallibility. Speaking of the original subject, I find it strange why religious leaders are not willing to accept evolution. Could they not see this as God's will to protect his creations? I mean, why do we evolved? It is because we need to adapt to our environment. If we do not adapt, then we would all be extinct.

I've tried lots of paints, mostly industrial grade paints. Learned it the hard way that you can't use undiluted paint thinner to clean up plastic parts. I use spray paints as primers, particularly ones that can be bought from your everyday hardware store. I know, I'm a cheapskate. I can't remember all of the brands of paint I use but I do remember a few like Gunze Sangyo and Tamiya. Mr. Surfacer is a particular primer that I like to use. After priming my model, I'd use an air brush to apply acrylic paint to give it that smooth glossy finish. Then hand paint the panel lines using diluted enamel paint, then wipe off the excess paint with a wet cloth. Of course I would only paint if I applied putty to the joints of the models to hid the seams, which I mostly do on 1/144 models. I rarely paint my MG and PG.

Thanks to Channel RED, I get some of my live-action fix from that cable channel. Just recently, I've seen Paradise Kiss. Saw it by chance and was glued to the TV. Little did I know that it was actually a manga. The movie does have some famous faces, Osamu Mukai who also starred in Atashinchi no Danshi, as well as Yusuke Yamamoto, who we all know as Kamen Rider Sasword. Yeah, there was an anime of the same name but I am referring to more of it's original counterpart, the manga. I've heard a lot of people complain about the main character in Linebarrel, and it is true, the anime made the lead character way too annoying. But after reading the manga, you get to see the character develop. But I'm posting this not because of the characters, but because of the plot. I have to tell you that the main plot of the anime is completely different from the manga. Although they share similar concepts, the story in the manga was utterly unexpected until it hits you right in the face. I have to reiterate that the anime did not do justice to the manga. It really wowed me. I was wondering if anybody else is following this.

Yes, Guild Wars is one MMO that comes to mind. Although you need to buy the software, you don't have to pay any subscription fee. Level is capped at 25, but it depends on how you build your character. If one build doesn't suit you, you can just change it in town later. I have seen a good built level 2 player overwhelm a poorly built level 25 player. That's what you call balance. You also don't have to level grind since levels is not what makes you powerful, but the way you combine your skills. It runs very smoothly on my old machine (intel P4) so it's not a resource hog. And it has a decent story that you can start and finish. So let's check: *No subscription fee - check, but you have to buy the software and it's free to play for life. *Good Character customization - check. You can actually strip down the avatar into their underwear. Nice if you have a female character and you type the command /dance *Not pay to win - check. No items for sale, just pure skill. *Good Story - check. You go through quest to unravel the story. You are in fact part of the story. *Easy to play with friends - check. This is an instance dungeon. So if you party with a friend, you only see your friends in the map. No PK during a quest. *Good Battle system - check. Like I mentioned, you can combine several skills to make awesome attacks. How else can a lower level player pawn a high level player? *Minimum level grinding - check. You level up easily and max level is capped at 25. *Not an FPS - check. You can actually see your avatar. *Compatible with average computer specs - check. My old PC can run this. I'm also playing Ragnarok Online. It's very old, but still very popular, probably around 5000 players each time I log on. Nice graphics, with set skills. This doesn't fit into any of the category mentioned above because of the following: -It may be free to play or with subscription depending on what region you are on. -The only customization you can do to a character is the head gear. -There are some Godly items that you have to buy in order to be uber powerful. -Sub par story if you count the quest. If not, no story at all. (And to think that this game is based on a korean Manhwa) -Easy to play and easy to get killed if you don't have good skills and reflexes. If you're a noob, you'll get killed a lot. -Battle system is a simple point and click, with the occasional keyboard presses to spam nerfing skills. -God awful level grinding. Took me years before I was able to reach level 99 just so I can revert back to level 1, to reach level 99 again. Took me weeks to level from 100 to 101. To this day, I have yet to reach the maximum level of 150. -Well, it's not an FPS, so I guess you might consider this its plus point. -It's old, so I doubt there is any system that can't run this game.

If you want to go action figures, you also might want to check out fix figuration. They're basically the same 1/144 size figures but based on the designs of Hajime Katoki. Newer generation kids nowadays actually look good compared to the olden days, where you really have to paint some parts to be show accurate. Try a few HG kits and see how it feels. But if you have a lot of time and a close attention to details, you should get the MG or PG kits. On an unpainted kit, it usually takes me hours to finish an MG kit, and 2 to 3 days straight for a PG kit. Yes, the PG kit is that extensive. Took me 3 weeks to finish my PG Zeta Gundam, and that's not including the paint.

If you don't want to paint, then you have to go HG and higher. HG looks decent without paint, but might have some small details that needs painting. For MG, you don't need paint at all. It has all the parts completely detailed and looks awesome when fully assembled. PG? What's to paint when even the fingers have multiple parts. You don't really need paint for most of the Gundam Models, you just have to be very careful when cutting them off from the runners. The model themselves don't really need paint. There are just some people out there (like me) who just want to improve the finish of the model. You usually paint the model when you do customization on the model, like sanding a specific part to make it look smaller, or adding putty to make it look bigger. But basically, you don't need paint for your model to look awesome. Paint just makes them Legen......wait for it......
