hate is a strong word. i guess its nice and fun for those actual children watching , but it just doesnt fit the feel of a sentai to me, like Lordspleach said its 'awkward' - it just sounds silly! i suppose i'll get used to it by episode 40! and i cant knock dancing mecha - i used to laugh every time one of the mech from Go-Busters did a little dance move on the end credits!

maybe i phrased it wrong. what i mean is King is the sort of character theres no question about... hes 'wild' , strong, and wears his heart on his shoulder. all of that is established in a few scenes with him, all the others are not that sort of character. whatever the case the samba still sucks, it sounds like its carnival time everytime they henshin. i know you didnt mention that odin but i just wanted to reiterate the fact

watched the first 2 eps and i must say im with you all, this is quite promising. the outfits have grown on me since seeing them in action. is anyone else tempted to wear sunglasses when watching it or is it just me?? this show is BRIGHT!!!!!!!! i really liked the mecha change sequence- it was too long with all the battery swaps but the visual of the transformation was cool. As for the characters , yeah im feeling good that they may be able to do a good job with the fleshing out of them apart from king - he just seems one dimensional, but maybe that will change. its good to see someone who look older than 18 again in it, blue looks older than a standard sentai guy. Pink is nice. Black n Greens characters seem like idiots (putting it polietly). but maybe that changes in ep 3. apart from the brightness the only other thing that i complain about is what Ryuki mentioned.... that F'in Samba music!!!! Why, oh why????? they should have used a hip hop drum if anything!!!

i would like to have all the new japanese covers as i only have books 9-21 with chinese covers, but i really dont want to / cant buy them all again - just for the covers!!! so i choose - shut up your face!!!!! good idea for other peeps though

im not sure this is worthy of a topic but it was just a thought i had... has anyone else noticed that Super sentai tends to use pyrotechnic/ firework type explosions where as kamen rider tends to use petrol/ gasoline??? i think its a good reflection on the tone of the series ... i.e super sentai is a bot more controlled and family friendly where as masked rider is a bit more unpredictable and edgy?? ?????????????????????????

you shouldnt really make sweeping statements about any culture, or anything at all really. it comes down to rumors, heresay stereotyping and sensationalism of the unkown. there will always be stereotypes and always exceptions to those stereotypes even if they are based on some truth. you cant tar everything with the same brush. anyway being english, i'd like to know what the weather is like over there in S Korea ??

i hope we get guyver 1,3, 2 F, griselda and aptom v5. i think this line would be easy for them to give us a sho, agito, shizu, tetsuro and mizuki aswell as they would be much more suited to the figma lines style rather than the BFC.... however i would just like them to release G2 F, griselda and aptom v5. in BFC anyway!!! on the release date if anyone did read the google translated interview above then they may have seen this this bit of crappy translated english that makes it sound like it will be at least winter!! so i wouldnt even be surprised at a 2014 date...

yeeeah! watched it and was really pleased that it ended well. overall the Go-Busters series = Awesome.

i just finished watching blade. no denying it was hard going for about 16 episodes then it picked up and around episode 23 started to get good, and it maintained on that route until the end. im glad i stuck with it but i stil dont have anything to compare it with as its the first Rider series i watched. i think im going for W next. i dont know why. maybe cause im saving Kabuto for later in the year.

guyverfan im with you as im sure a lot of us are. its so annoying they would change scale. the only good that will come from this, as i said above, is that the new guyver 1 will be in correct scale with the original BFC Gigantic. check this photo, Takaya is reaching for the new figma figure ... you can see one behind it which is the BFC and it is clearly taller than the new one (you can measure the one at the front compared to the one Takaya is reaching for at the front and it is bigger, which is what makes me sure it is the new one). i did some quick photoshop and look: new G1 against Gigantic new G1 against BFC G1

nice stuff cannibal. so they do look the same mould as before but with figma joints on the knees and arms ( shame as figma joints are not as good as shf and revoltech, but anyway beegars cant be choosers!) i like the way the legs look more managafied the way they kind of go out at a slight angle from the knees. hmmm.... if these figma figures are slightly smaller than the original BFC then they may look more in proper scale with the original BFC Gigantics. ive been thinking and i wonder if our little email campaign we had last year had anything to do with this?? it maybe unlikely but it would be nice to think we gave them a little nudge!!

no nothing to do with abductions etc. it relates to ancient history, ancient civilizations, our ancestors and even to specific events in the bible, so its not really to do with stereotypical conspiracy theories as such, but you can link it to them . regardless of that though its part of the reason why i got interested in ancient civilizations such as Egypt and Sumeria etc. i wouldn't recommend people go too far into it though because if you dont have any kind of filter on your info or your thinking,like you said, it can drift into conspiracies etc. and theres no real fruit to bear there.

well, sorry to drag this seemingly bad memory of a topic up but i actually wacthed this last night and wanted to register my dissapointment, well.... that was until i watched the above video posted by YoungGuyver (thanks!) why was i dissapointed? not because i am an alien fan - ive seen them all i think at various times and enjoyed them but i am by no means a 'fan' of them, and this is perhaps where my dissapointment and anger came from. i didnt give a heck about the stuff connected to Alien. i saw some threads and just thought so thats it thats the answer oh great! what peed me of was that they had hinted on something that really caused a paradigm shift in my life over a decade ago which was the ancient astronaut theory (and there are many different examples other than von danikens chariots of the gods)... finally, i thought ,someone exploring this topic, and when the film just spiralled downwards into what i felt was a poor imitation of an alien film it just angered me that the ancient astronaut theory was not given a fair exploration or expanded upon and was kind of just forgotten. i am actually surprised that you say you didnt know about this theory before Ryuki, im sure i mentioned it at sometime in the theories and ideas section but i think it was within another topic, and it does actually relate to Guyver in a few ways, however i like to just leave Guyver in its own realm, i like to just enjoy it for what it is rather than attach it to bizzare real world theories, which is why i have never pushed the issue. anyway to the dudes video - anything like this esoteric review does make me wonder if the reviewer is actually more intelligent than the writer or if they are just especially sharp! there were things in the film that just didnt make sense to me at the time, i think i noticed them but they just seemed random at the time, but with those things in mind pointed out, and thinking oh yeah, now i would like to try and piece them together myself. things that stood out were the whole David thing, he was a dick, but now i see he was a dick for a reason. i was reading it as a reflection of him being a creation and his relationship with his creators, and the crew embarking to do the same thing. like when he asks the dude 'how would you feel if you asked them why they made you and they just said because they could?' etc. first thing i thought when i saw the circular tunnel was particle accelerator. wether that extends to the time travel thesis, i dont know but given enough thinking it might make sense. what i dont understand is the beginning, why is the engineer destroying himself? unless he was creating us? was that it? in a christ type way... for you all to live i must die? anyway the real revelation that the above video gave me was the bible passage connection. i guess it shouldnt have surpised me that their was christ and god /satan symbolism in here but to my ignorance at the time i overlooked it. what i instantly think of is that this angry god was displeased that his creation had dared to be in his presence and thus killed everyone. even though the reviewer above said she survived because she was a believer lets not forget that he did go to kill her once his ship had crashed. bah i dont know, but really if all this symbolism is in there deliberately surely it would have just been better in a stand alone film with nothing to do about the aliens of Alien? but then i guess not as many people would even think about going to see it.. whatever, but all i do know is that the next time (if i find time for a next time) i watch this i will watch it again with a more open mind and look at things differently, i will not be focusing on it for what i wanted out of it and take it for what is actually there, that way i wont get disapointed or peeved off. if i had the time or inclination i would go over it with a fine tooth comb, but alas i dont have the motivation -after all its only a film and my 100% understanding or perception of it wont change my overall thinking in anyway, anyway!

granted he is cool but in the whole scale of things he's not really a main character and did close to F all. i just wanted to see Yoda in 2hrs of backward speaking wisdom and light sabre slashing action!
