  1. Wow! i'll be honest, at ths point i havent watched it all but just skipped to some dialogue and it sounds amazing, just as if it was dubbed in he 80's / 90's - no offence thats a good thing for anime to me. i'll give a full watch some time without a doubt. Thanks to you and all who worked on the project!!!!
  2. the oav adapted it and it was a good episode also... like i said im glad they gave Murakami the Zoanoid buster gun as it made it more believable for this seemingly normal dude to have survived against Cronos. As for the kidnapping i think it shows sho has been doing his job ever since if they havent been captured again since then! i know what you mean about the pacing - i was like - did i miss a chapter??? but think about it logically, Cronos have the Segawas and Sho's father. what do they do in that situation? send an agent to tell Sho and Set a trap, its a standard plan by now. Murakami was probably either keeping an eye on Sho unkowingly to Sho or they may have arranged for Sho to go in alone to feel out the situation and Murakami felt he needed to intervene? its a good job hewas there because didnt he arise suspicion in Sho about zoanoid Mizuki, the whole reason Sho asked about her birthday...
  3. #12 - VIZ - Desperate! - Chuang Yi - the prelude to pursuit - Advocacy - i love this chapter! action and a little bit of drama. Murakami doesnt have his oav triangular baralled Max Factory Zoanoid Buster though just a normal 'freedom arms' revolver, thus cant blow holes in zoanoids. strange that the 'freedom arms' inscription is shown in chuang yi but not in the Viz version. Sho realises he can use his head sensors to search for people/ zoanoids for the first time. Murakami tells Sho hes protecting mankind aswell as his friends. so no pressure.
  4. Hmm; I never knew that. That's interesting. if you'd like to see some other differences have a read of the other observations threads, the differences have brought up a few interesting points. @ Dave yeah i meant to point out that thanks to Murakami this is when Sho Finds out about Makashimai being Cronos.
  5. #11 - VIZ - deadly! - Chuang Yi - the fourth Guyver?! deadly combined attacks!! - Advocacy - G1 vs Aptom and Dyme Sho and Muakami meet a few points here... jabberwocky of Aptom explaining himself: Viz: ''i'm an experimental prototype developed when chronos engineered a zoanoid that can metamorphose into a variety of forms!'' ''i was developed for the purpose of generating into all types of zoanoids'' now here i like chuang yi's jabberwocky and we know that Aptoms has become able to do just that- but was that what he was originally developed to do?? is Viz's really more accurate where Aptom doesnt declare to be able to be any zoanoid?? Dyme seems to be defeated then dissapears into the air rather than just into the ground like in the oav. something else - Sho and Makashima can communicate through their back receptors even when not boosted, so has there been othertimes when they have tried to speak and ignored eachother??? does that mean they can just bug eachother all the time? like just randomly saying stuff ''hey Agito you suck! '' or '' hey, ive got the Gigantic back so screw you !! ha ha!!
  6. the way i see Archanfel and Apollons transportation is more like teleportation rather than crossing through a wormhole. also the way i think about the siphon from void space being a womhole is that its a perfect example of a black hole / white hole situation... the Control Metal is being the black hole in the boost dimension collecting and condensing energy and effectively being a white hole ejecting out the energy into the guyver system in our dimension.
  7. @ Kenji i can see how some people maynot be a fan of OOC because i dont now about other people but i saw it after the 12 oavs and the manga so going backwards and it being totally different is a bit weird. i still enjoyed it though. @ Dave i hadnt thought of it in that way - as a 2 parter between 10 and 11, i see your point though. Also yeah the difference between the fight in the manga and oav is strange, i did like it better when all 3 attacked him. although there is the fact that its one of the worts animated episodes - like when a paused still of Aptom's face is used, it looks horrible (not his face - even though its grotesque- but the tackiness of the still. they could have just made frames of the same cel over and over until it filled the time, but they just made it look tack... @ brother justin (????) didnt mean to make you sad but i know what you mean. i was trying to stimulate some discussion on the board and i appreciate not everyone will want to go over old ground but i think some of the points raised are relevant and can spark other discussions.... im doing this to reread and remember points i have forgot. it would be easier for me not to write any observations, but when some good things come up its hard not to but then again is it worth my while??? i'll definately finish book 2 and see what happens, i might do volumes instead of chapters but thst might get too big in terms of posting. i dont know! anyway onto chapter 11.
  8. a courteous post to say, i cant get my head around this at the moment.but i'll try not to forget about it. but take this into consideration ive posted it twice elsewhere i think. ''according to the VDF, p9 i think, when the Armour appears in this dimension it crosses through a wormhole creating the explosive sphere, so it sounds like the gravity controller acts like some kind of mini wormhole that constantly syphons energy from the BD into the guyver. metaphorically speaking maybe its like the Guyver's 'heart' pumping boost dimension energy 'blood' throughout the Guyver.'' i know im leaping again from an assumption tothe next but think about it weve, been told the GC is the siphon so maybe thats how it does it??
  9. (seems contradictory to put 3 chapters in one when, im talking of order but not much happens and theres not much to observe to discuss i think) #8 - VIZ - Explosive! - Chuang Yi - Boom!! the blast of pressure cannon - Advocacy - another hyperzoanoid? Panadyne! a good chapter where Sho realises the power of the gravity canon and also Mizuki sees him fight and transform! p.s Guyot's still alive! #9 - VIZ - Amazing! - Chuang Yi - lost numbers command!! The lurking shadows of Chronos - Advocacy - ooh! The Lost Numbers! Aptoms first appearance!! here i find it weird that Agito seemingly Bio-boosts outside the room Guyot was in? surely that gave Guyot a big clue?? Somlum takes on G1 and gets some megasmasher action for his trouble. #10 - VIZ - Adverserial - Chuang Yi - Formidable enemy!! 2 lost numbers - Advocacy - Sho is using single handed presuure cannon shots - nice. 1st appearance of Masaki Murakami! Guyot's getting suspicious of Agito.... beginning of Sho vs the remaining lost numbers
  10. i dont know whats funnier - the fact Dave couldnt be bothered to scroll to the top of the page to find my name, or no one could be bothered to find the appropriate thread for the info . it would be nice to keep things in order whether it be the threads or the wiki. i dot want to put either of you off from contributing so please dont take my comment as offensive.
  11. no dude, never any animosity here. everyones got there own opinions. im not irked. when i began the thread not much research was done - its was just on a whim. however some of the stuff you pointed out seemed to enforce what i was saying. and youve done some great research concerning it all. gravity contollers or not, it doesnt really bother me, i just had'nt noticed them on the figure in a while and certainly couldn't remember seeing them in the manga. it got me thinking, thats all.
  12. please tell me you didnt use amazon.jp. their postage prices are a joke last time i looked
  13. ok, yeah. im just getting carried away, and for now assuming energy amps equals gravity controllers! i still think that the structure of an energy amp is a gravity control device inside and the surrounding amplifier is enhancing the energy from void space/ boost dimension even more, but there you go, if nothing else simply because i think it sounds cool (can you tell i cant 100% focus on this anymore ). i think my confusion is the slightly ambiguous description in the VDF. reading it again it says: ''the gravitational energy that the gravity control orb generated is amplified'' does it simply mean the one at the waist? or the orbs Max Factory randomly decided to put inside the figures power amps?? edit: ( had to come back and put a picture in!!!) (just thought i wonder if anyone with a Zoalord figure (i dont have one) could look inside their crystals on the off chance they put a central detail in there)? much like your theory on the inside of the crystals theres got to be a reason for these spheres being in the Gigantics amps. who knows. its so funny how much you miss (or just forget) in the VDF if you dont read every single thing. so the gravity gyro's are the control for flying and the GC is the cause. maybe the equivalent in the Ark is the power amps act as the GC and the Zoacrystals act as the gravity giro organs?
  14. yes well, this is why im re-reading the whole thing !! yeah, i think the whole eye thing confused me. really all i meant was if there is something dark behind where the crystal is set it would appear dark inside, but thinking of it for it to appear that way all the time it would require the exact same light source all the time, which is just silly for Takaya to illustrate it like that. your guess on the internal structure is probably right. === back to the Gravity Controllers so is it saying GG only has 12 extra Gravity Controllers?? ah, forgive me then, that means the 2 wrist ones dont count . on the Ark could it be that the 12 GC's are just used for gravity control? i.e purely to make the ship fly - like the secondary purpose of the GC on the Guyvers? if so this could still mean my theory is correct, as it would suggest the Ark can only use the GC's for flight and not power like the GG, thus why they have resorted to solar power. like i said even if they are made of the same materials the Ark and are still two different systems utilising the components differently. (maybe ! )
  15. hmmm.... it could just be artistic license with the crystals. if you think about it ,if a crystal is set in somewhere its getting no light from behind it therefore would appear darker in the centre. you can see it shown like that on the cover illustration of Archanfel on book 15 . im not sure that i would call Aptoms eyes Crystals...what benefit would he gain from .... ah - unless he shoots energy through them ! maybe you are correct and the crystals are denser in the centre. so the centre is a generator and the surrounding an amplifier? (like the GC and energy amps) i had never really thought of the power amps being made of 'crystal' but i guess it makes sense!! ( who knows what i thought they were made of!!!! ) ======== yeah in the VDF it does make it sound like the GC is the main power point from the BD. which is obviously why i mentioned 14X power because of the extra 14 GC orbs. im not really sure on the Ark or it being charged by the sun (i would think antimatter is a better source of fuel than light / heat energy when youre floating through the pitch blackness of space - but then again why dont they just use wormholes to get where they are going?? anyway...), i just dont think the Ark and Guyver can be compared as they are two diferent systems and we know that Cronos can not replicate quite the same technology as the unit G. im kind of thinking i was onto something
  16. first off please forgive any bliding mistakes as i wasnt even going to write this! Ryuki's post promted me to do it!!! and my research has been minimal! Today i was messing around with my (dusty) Guyver Gigantic max factoy figure and i looked inside the clear plastic green power amps and noticed that inside each one is a visible sphere, obviously this is different to the unit G but it made me wonder if each amp has its own gravity conrtoller inside?? is this a find? or me just being forgetful or slow?? looking at the vdf although they are called energy amps, it seems that really they are extra gravity controllers that are amplified by the surrounding orb, and seeing as that is the main conduit of energy from the boost dimension that would mean that GG is siphoning at the very least 14x more BDE than the unit G. and thats excluding the 2 used for the Gigasmasher. if this is the case its easy to see how the XD could create black hole weapons with such massive amounts of gravitational energy at its disposal.
  17. on that particular incident in chapter 7 i think that it was just a case of a 'recovery routine', an unheard homing beacon was calling to the forearm from the unit, it was being called 'home', but that wasnt revealed until the end, it wasnt known - especially seeing as Agito was going to kill Shou over it and that gave the chapter some substance. i think youre other reasoning is sound dude. it makes sense that it would have measures to destroy and preserve itself. well more preserve itself via the energy of the power amp (also makes sense bits would just decay if they had no extra power source to feed off). about the whole power amps thing.... actually its funny you know, i was going to save this for another time but it kind of seems appropriate.... i'll link somewhere else because its slightly off topic.. energy-amps-on-gg-and-xd
  18. @Ryuki i tried looking for some raws but they seem to have the same problem the hiragana (?) is blurred and pretty much unreadable. @ Dave good points dude. i know the chapter is a bit obscure, but like i said i appreciated a bit of humour and the whole the 'Guyvers got me' thing. yeah no other limbs have come back to life that iremember- have they always been abandonned though? or do they get stuck back on to fuse back??
  19. yes!! part 2 is out!! ( part 1 and 2 together in this link) man the beginning is awesome, and then they break out 'that'! cool, cool, cool!!!
  20. #7 (volume 2) - VIZ - Terrifying - Chuang Yi - the other sho, the menace of bio-boosted clone - Advocacy - n/a really, i honestly cannot even remember this! was it even in the 2005 tv series? Sho's chopped off arm comes alive! This chapter has some good humour in it at the beginning, which is a good change of pace. its particularly funny when the cloned sho freaks tetsuro out because hes naked in the 'archive' / library. i'm more impressed by Viz again , as the sentiment of Sho realising he can not get away from the bio booster armour comes across. i liked this because despite the undeniable coolness of the Guyver unit and all the good he can do with it and the protection it provides, to put it bluntly, it has kind of got Sho by the balls. it would be interesting to read Advocacys translation of the last few pages in this chapter. i'm guessing they would make more sense than chuang yi's.
  21. i recommend cdjapan. however they have sold out on preorder but they are more or less guaranteed to have it again soon after its release.
  22. i watched the first ep and i liked it. slick production and all the wizardry associated stuff was cool. problem is i havent watched any KR before it yet, so i have nothing to compare it to and then there was an even bigger problem ..... i just felt as if i was watching Gobusters but with 1 hero doing 'magic'. all the slickness, effects etc. just reminded me so much of Gobusters. i dont think i can watch this and Gobusters within the same period of time its all too similar, so im gonna have to choose.
  23. i appreciate all this hype over Apollon because its been cool to theorise just who the hell he is and what the hell he's doing! but im starting to want to know what the after math is going to be once he's revealed, because its going to have some big shockwaves through the series i think. i still think that rumour the series was going to finish in 5 books or so wasn't true. unless Takaya starts releasing 40 page chapters or something. whats betting we go back to Agito and his discovery next chapter - just to prolong the agony!!!
  24. cool. i think if you can give it some episodes to get into it you should enjoy it. i enjoyed Hurricanger (first Sentai i watched) but to be honest i did enjoy Dairanger that bit more - im not trying to 'big it up' any more than i already have, thats just my opinion. i'm sure you remember how much i like Dekaranger but i couldnt compare it and Dairanger really because to me they are too different and have different qualitys of enjoyment. at the time i was looking for super sentai the synopsis for Abaranger just didnt grab me, so i didnt grab it, which was a mistake because last time i tried looking about 2 months ago i couldnt really find it - i think i found 6 episodes of it altogether. ive still got 3 or 4 other SS series to watch and 2 Kamen Rider so its not as if im short of stuff to watch at the moment!! oh man, now youre telling me Gobusters is on a par with Hurricanger? - damn, i either really need to get watching it more now (im only @ ep 6) or save it for after the other series that i want to watch....ha! i wish i wasnt so finiky about this stuff , i guess because i was late to the Sentai / Toku party i'm just spoilt for choice!!
  25. so far i have seen Hurricanger Dekaranger Magiranger Boukenger i must say when i first put the first episode on i was like WTF am i watching? this looks ugh! but then like i said i got a nostalgia rush, then i gave it a chance, and.... well you read the review . i get not liking the 'old' stuff. i actually tried watching some Zyuranger because of the whole MMPR thing but i couldnt hack more than 1 ep, it was horrible. the feel was - errugh! same when i was looking into Kamen Rider and looked at some older series, i didnt much like it. whereas the 2000's sentai that ive seen are all in their own 'zone' after Hurricanger (cant speak about Abaranger) from Dekarangers onwards they seem similar, if you know what i mean? but Dairanger seems a little different altogether, if i'm making any sense?? yes its still super sentai and probably 85% the same but there's something different. i guess its just the time it was made, and maybe the characters, i think the way the characters are portrayed are different, i can't put my finger on it. well all i can say is i really enjoyed it and i'd watch it again, so it must be good!
