Prometheus 2 - “Alien: Paradise Lost!
Salkafar replied to Shin Mefilas's topic in General 'whatever'.
Yes, well, if it was the equivalent to the Chestburster... Funny. The Newborn died in a way that could not even have killed a human being. The difference in pressure between sea level atmosphere and outer space is by definition just one atmosphere. This seemed more like it had been hooked up to an industrial pump. -
Prometheus 2 - “Alien: Paradise Lost!
Salkafar replied to Shin Mefilas's topic in General 'whatever'.
Any good? -
Oh, you can bet Apollyon's gonna pop up to grab their zoacrystals. He might even want to take Agito out once he is exhausted from battle. If this battle can exhaust him. We might get to see Apollyon take on Gigantic Dark... should be a pretty even match.
-
I bet Clumegnig does spherical force fields (he used one as a weapon against Aptom way back when) and Jabir does the vortex stuff. I wonder why he hasn't shrunken down yet - does this mean his battleform is always that big?
-
Why so negative? Did anyone complain in 1986 when the original team was all-male?
-
...Is nobody else going to comment on the new chapter??
-
You guys rule. *** Looks like the guys are reminded of Gigantic Dark's battle with Imakarum Mirabilis, when Tokyo almost got sucked into a black hole. ...Damn. The last time I read that volume, it was a better world. I ought to pick it up again.

Is Super Saiyan Blue 3 possible?
Salkafar replied to PrimalNemesis's topic in Japanese Entertainment
That's what I mean. What does it matter? What is at stake? Is there any other conceivable outcome than Goku winning by becoming stronger than before? I am not asking 'Why should I care', I am asking 'How can anybody care anymore'? -
Is Super Saiyan Blue 3 possible?

No, I think that any progress beyond this point is forever impossible. They will never exceed the power they have at this point. It's just unthinkable. Let alone sustain such a hypothetical transformation! It's ludicrous. The Saiya-jins have reached the ultimate plateau of their power and to reach beyond it is folly. Kind of like how expecting anything of substance from the Dragonball franchise is folly at this point. -
Well, if they are not Hyper-Zoanoids, what are they? It's just a term referring to special development, instead of the standard one.

Yeah... the tank-lifting thing... Gregole is supposed to be fifteen times as strong as a human. Say a healthy, adult male who doesn't work out excessively can heft a hundred kilograms. That would allow him to lift a ton and a half, which does not justify the lifting of a tank. Even though we've seen him do it. And did Zerbebuth claim to be ten times as as strong as Gregole? I remember he claimed to be three times as strong... (checks) Yeah, that's what the wikia says, too. And it states that Derzerb, for his part, is 60 times as strong as a human. I wonder how strong the Enzyme-types were. Enzyme I seemed easily the equal of the Guyver. And some of the more recent Hyper-Zoanoid types would seem to have to be even stronger. And what about the Libertus, and the Unus?
-
...We've never seen a Guyver in space. TFW it transforms to adapt... breathing tubes close up, sonic orbs retract because they're useless now, and the suit sprouts solar panel-covered 'wings'... I think it is extremely probable a Guyver could survive indefinitely in space. The Advents / Ouranos / Creators travelled through space a lot, and it was, after all, a symbiotic environment suit. Being able to function in space would be a definite requirement. And they lived very long lives, so they might want a suit to keep them alive indefinitely, in case a rescue would take rather long.
-
I think I have to agree with that. After all, Zoanoids are expendable.
-
I doubt a Creator ship could stop him... they have not displayed anything capable of stopping a Zoalord. Kind of weird that they sent Zoanoids inside when any of the Zoalords could just have forced their way in and, protected by their force shield, look around at their leisure. Perhaps they were afraid there could be surprises inside they were not prepared for.

...What if Agito defeats Klumeggnigg/Jabir (pretty much a given by now)... shrinks back down to Guyver III... and that is the moment Guyot strikes? With the Remover? ...Problem: how to get rid of Griselda and the Libertuses. Answer: well, he presumably still has his gravitonic abilities. He only has to hold them off while he absconds with the Unit. And if he still has some Unuses at his disposal... Then, Guyver-Guyot would confront Archanfel... If Guyot defeats Archanfel, the ultimate battle will be between him and Sho. As this is going on, Apollyon takes on the remaining Zoalords, with the next-to-last battle between him and Galenos. Epic fight which Apollyon ultimately wins; now he wants to move on Archanfel, but there is still one standing in his way: Hamilcar Barcas, Barcas finally takes on his battleform, revealing he can only do this once ever. So Barcas and Apollyon throw down, with the Zoalord being the ultimate winner at the cost of his own life, but as he dies, he is happy in the knowledge he successfully defended Archanfel - but right after he perishes, Guyot attacks Archanfel. The ultimate battle should be on the Moon, or maybe even Mars, as both Sho and Guyot want to spare Earth, although for different reasons. Of course, after the battle, in which Sho should probably be the victor (but knocked out / cocooned), we see a spaceship on a course for Earth... and as we get a look inside, we see an army of Apollyons!
-
Guyot would have used the Remover on him as soon as he worked out how to activate it. That was only a matter of time. That way, he might even have beaten Archanfel to the punch. Sho might even be the better for it. After Guyot removes the armor, only human Sho would be left. I bet even the communication nodes on his back would disappear like scar tissue. Would Guyot let him live? I think he would. He would be so over the moon with having the unit, he might even be grateful. Of course, the question is whether it would do Sho any good in the long term... I wonder if Guyot, merged with the unit, would have been more powerful than Archanfel. Probably pretty close.

He has schizophrenia. I think maybe the article should have opened with that.
-
...Maybe he will just come back...? No, he won't. He was 89. Rest in peace, big man.

Those long, stalking strides. Heheheh. Spoilers Also, they finally off him at the end of 2... so what happens at the start of 3? A new one simply appears, gets rid of the corpse of his predecessor and continues where he left off. That was absolutely brilliant and terrifying - kind of like when the Ginosaji breaks his spoon... and drops it... and for a moment it's like 'omg, maybe he's gonna stop'... and then he opens his coat and oh no, oh no, oh no...

I have only watched SDF Macross so far and right now I am kind of up to my ears in this - Having watched MS Gundam 78 I was pretty surprised at the relative shamelessness of Macross. Civilian teenager forced into role of badass combat pilot amidst deeply involved crew, home-like mothership of uncommon but highly advanced design, emotional plotlines, main characters dying unexpectedly, flying mecha in space, massive-scale space battles, Earth being mostly depopulated - there's even a girl character whose song wins battles.

Quirky series with a hell of a leading man (and by that I mean Angus Scrimm).

Finn worked at sanitation, like - apparently, going by General Hux' words - lots of Stormtroopers, since they actually participated in the construction of Starkiller Base. Finn is pretty green, as he says that it was his first battle, which is probably why he got the 'shitty' job, ahahahah, but he's still a Stormtrooper... and those guys are made to be warriors. So I think they are trained in any kind of fighting. Hand-to-hand, fire-arms, but also daggers, staves, clubs... and swords. Mirabilis, your viewpoint is not going to gain much support so long as you keep calling the movie 'feminist propaganda'. It's an unfair and unreasonable allegation. What is the underlying logic? Why would Disney make a movie that appeals to people who are not known for their love of action-based fantasy movies? This is not arthouse stuff. It is not going to provoke profound thoughts. That's not what this franchise is about. Actually I am somewhat surprised they never asked Michael Bay to make one of these. "On one condition. That I get to shoot a big-ass explosion." "How about blowing up an entire solar system?" If anything you would expect them to focus on the young males. Also it's Star Wars. Not 'Starwars'.

It's the tone of voice. That really says it all. Here is a man who has figured it all out, who is privy to the secret undercurrent of truth that lies beneath the deceptive veneer of society. The name of the man's account, good grief. He's going to wake us all from the shared hallucination the feminist computers have lulled us into to harvest our masculine electricity and body heat to power - or should that be empower - their misoandric cyber-juggernauts. Thing is: who is Disney pandering to? If they are all about money - which of course they are, they are an American company - why would they focus on self-professed intellectuals and feminists? Did I miss the announcement that those became the leading economic brackets in US society? Why would Disney attempt to 'force a feminist agenda' on an unsuspecting audience? Cui bono? If they are about money, then that is their right. In fact that is the philosophy of all businesses. But then there seems no point to his argument. Is he accusing them of being greedy? Kind of unrealistic. Or is he accusing them of being political? Why would they be? Is the Disney company secretly headed by a feminist cabal that is stealthily, gradually reprogramming all young men and boys to admire and possibly emulate young women? Does he think that if they ever open that refrigerated coffin that is supposed to contain the cryogenically frozen remains of ol' uncle Walt, they will actually see the icy grin of Valerie Solanas? What does he think is the point of his hypothetical 'feminist agenda'? This seems to be less about society's issues than his own. Pretty good beard, though. Makes him look really manly even as he is whining like a woman. ...I just realized that what he is doing - is that actually what is meant when people use the obnoxious term 'mansplaining'?
-
I can't agree, Sean. Gantz was pretty meta. Guyver is much more straightforward. Also, welcome to the board.

Mirabilis, words fail me. You are just punishing yourself. I can't believe we watched the same movie and came away with such differing viewpoints. *** Kylo Ren cutting his own arm off... I can definitely see him mutilating himself in an effort to strengthen his own control, to overcome the conflict inside himself. Especially after getting pwned by Rey. Or Snoke might do it to him to punish him and give him more focus at the same time. It's not far-fetched... Yakuza do it when they have failed in some big way. They just cut off a finger, though. Speaking of Snoke: it's a cinch that his identity is meant to be a surprise, and a sucker bet that the hologram is not his true appearance. Snoke could still turn out to be a female. There is another theory which might fit in more with the way Star Wars seems to do business. A while ago I considered the possibility that Anakin Skywalker wasn't literally 'conceived by the Force' as Qui-Gon concluded from what little information he had. Most people seem to think that, since Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious were experimenting at the time with harnessing life force, creating life, through Force manipulation, Anakin's birth was an unintended side effect; like a pearl formed by an oyster in response to an irritant. Personally, I thought it was a lot more likely and poetic if Anakin was simply Palpatine's kid. It might even have been part of Plagueis' plan. Palpatine was also very strong in the Force; if the offspring of such an individual were manipulated by an accomplished Force user who had dedicated himself to his goal, they could create an even more powerful Force-sensitive. Plagueis and Sidious would almost have to have known of the prophecy about the Chosen One who would bring balance to the Force. Why shouldn't the Sith be the ones to produce and control such an individual? Shmi might believe 'there wasn't a father' but somehow I suspect two Sith lords would have no trouble at all to roofie a young slave woman. Anyway... I think Snoke might be another one of Palpatine's children. Anakin's brother. This movie series is about family - I didn't come up with that, Lucas stated it outright. Palpatine and Vader have a pretty messed-up father-son-type relationship. Perhaps it was more than an example of that type of relationship.
