  1. So what turned Goku into this?
  2. He didn't in the manga, I don't think, and why would he? Zoalords are super-strong even in human form. How about teflon rounds? They would reduce reflection off of hard armor plating and increase penetration potential (Because the teflon deforms on impact, reducing the probability of grazing and giving the hard bullet core more opportunity to impact on the armor). ...Actually, it is here I have to cut in with considerations regarding organic armor. Zoanoids are organic beings. Large tetrapods with an endoskeleton, usually like large mammals or reptiles, occasionally birds. Some have arthropod-like qualities, but still move like tetrapods do. What kind of armor could they have? Crocodiles, the largest armored animals, have a combination of bony scutes and horny scales as armor. Needless to say, it is not bulletproof. Arthropods and many other animals, even fish, have chitin and/or sclerotin armor; in the larger crustaceans incorporating calcium carbonate to create a much tougher material. But, again, it is not close to bullet proof. ...Recent developments in body armor research have yielded a material similar to - of all things - protein deposits in the brains of alzheimer patients, which is said to be far stronger than Kevlar. We know carbon-based nanomaterials that are very strong can be produced by organisms. Are Zoanoids actually armored with nanotube-like structures? In any case, materials have limits. Even the strongest materials. A large-caliber projectile made of, say, tungsten carbide - heavier than lead and stronger than steel - encased in teflon to counteract deflection and grazing is very difficult to stop. What thickness of armor could? Can we make a graph?
  3. ...Come to think of it, the amulet bearing the Seal of Solomon is supposed to be made of silver.
  4. ...Like what?
  5. Silver does not hurt werewolves more than iron, gold or lead would. At least not according to folklore. The silver thing is an invention of Hollywood.
  6. 48% on Rotten Tomatoes. 73% of the viewers liked it. And now "Warcraft" seems doomed, too...
  7. If that is God, then that explains a lot about that goofy-ass multiverse.
  8. Damn. I did not know that. Fulton Balcus, btw. Guyot - Or 'Gyou' was of course in the next movie, although Jim O'Donoghoe (who is a complete cipher) indeed did do him less justice than David. It's a shame he never rose above the villainous roles he's famous for.
  9. I don't think it would work. The G-unit is already a parasitic organism. It might try to compete with Aptom. Plus it adapts to the host, but can it adapt further after that? Aptom is a shapeshifter, it's practically his defining power - but could the armor change shape to accomodate that?
  10. Is Sho even aware that Doctor Barkas was the one who transformed his father? We know because we are outside the story, looking in. ...Weird question: Has Sho actually even met Doctor Barkas in person? I feel I should know this, but I just can't... I mean, he may have seen him during the attack on the Relic - but that's not likely, because he was dealing with Guyot, then with Murakami dying, and then with Archanfel. And after that... he mainly fought with Imakarum, Prukshutal* and the Rogues. I am pretty sure Sho only knows Hamilkar Barkas as the name of one of the Zoalords (If even that. Do they know the names of all of the Zoalords? And if so, how?) but it's entirely possible he has no idea that he is personally responsible for what happened to Fumio Fukamachi. ...This is an idea. Is it possible - what am I saying, of course it is - to edit the Guyver books so you only get to see what the 'Scooby gang' is experiencing? That would make everything look completely differently, I bet. Much more incomprehensible. Hmmmm. I'll look into that. * I still prefer Prukshutal to 'Purgstall'. It just sounds more forceful.
  11. It's the 'Unicron problem'. In Transformers Prime, it turns out the Big Bad, Unicron, is actually the core of Earth. He can't be destroyed without destroying Earth - indeed, if it wasn't for him, Earth would never have existed. Humanity only exists for a terrible reason: aliens wanted bio-weapons. Humans are innately and intrinsically tainted and that's never going to wash off. It's what we are. And the genie is out of the bottle [Actually, is it? Does everybody know the true story now? Or do they still think Chronos outright alters people, rather than releasing a potential that's already there?] . So Chronos really might be the best option, once we're rid of Archanfel.
  12. Civil War now stands at 1.063 billion. Dawn of Justice, 871 million (which is enough to cover the costs). Marvel wins. I fear for 'Suicide Squad'. Word is they put all the jokes from the movie in the trailer to up the appeal, and even tried to increase the humor in the movie because of the Deadpool Effect.
  13. I wonder about the Saint of Killers.
  14. I started on the second series. Of course, the problem is that it's a prequel, and we already knew that A) Carter is not gonna die B) Stark's not gonna die C) The world nor the USA will be destroyed D) SHIELD will be founded. That means the only question of even moderate interest is whether Jarvis is gonna make it to the end of the show. The answer to which is probably 'no' because you have to have at least one dramatic death. In a sense, due to it nominally being part of the cinematic universe, the same goes for Agents of SHIELD: You know society at large is not in danger. But it's a character-driven show, and I have to say I was digging the two-part finale of this season a lot.
  15. Welp. 'Civil War' passed 'Dawn of Justice'. ...It might be the top earner this year... until 'Rogue One' come out, anyway.
  16. I don't see how you could make a dark and edgy Shazam movie. That franchise just isn't meant for that. It's something they should aim at the younger segment. Maybe animated? And you could easily make it a trilogy. Villains (in order): Doctor Sivana, Black Adam, Mister Mind. ...Then again, those guys have become fairly edgy of late.
  17. Of course, there are gradations of defeat.
  18. Okay... Marvel wins again. Will DC wise up and fire Zach Snyder?
  19. Do any of you expect a happy ending? Of any kind? Who are you rooting for?
  20. Excellent translation, guys.
  21. Darkness?
  22. ...If Kurumegnik kan manifest those force spheres anywhere... can he do so inside the Gigantic Dark (or what is it called now? Dark Titan)?
  23. The manifestation appears larger than Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. ....That makes it the second- or third-largest manifested being in fiction I am aware of.
