https://twitter.com/DavidBHayter/status/366447188311683074/photo/1 Wow, that's really weird! But really cool. How out of the blue can you get. It would be awesome if this was a sign of something to come. Who owned the rights to live action Guyver anyway that messed it all up?

I think Sho's conditions for losing the first Enzyme battle should be considered differently depending on which media of the Guyver we're watching. In the manga, only Tetsuro is watching the battle and, as far as Sho is concerned, he doesn't need to worry too much about Tetsuro because Enzyme only wants Sho. Sho's arm is bitten off only because a Cronos soldier apprehending Tetsuro distracts Sho into looking away from Enzyme. In the 12-part OVA, Enzyme seems to show some kind of super speed which allows him to bite his arm off. In the TV series, Sho just doesn't seem to be taking the fight very seriously and loses his arm very unceremoniously... (let's not get started on this version of the fight). In all medias, the loss of Sho's arm is pretty much the turning point of the fight and is followed by him getting impaled. It's pretty hard to say exactly what he did wrong/how he could've won unless you specify which media you're talking about! I would definitely say that just watching the 12-part OVA, Enzyme looks to be much stronger than presented in the other incarnations, as if there really was no hope for Sho to win. In the others it just seems that unforunate circumstances led to the fight being in Enzyme's favour

8 pages kinda sucks though

My friend gave me his Dead Space product key for free to activate it on Steam. I played the first 45 minutes or so and am enjoying it quite a bit. The mouse and keyboard controls make it hard to do just about anything though. I'm usually alright with tank controls and am one of the few people that thinks Resident Evil 4/5 have fine control schemes as they are, but I'm having trouble moving about and aiming in Dead Space. It does add to the stress levels though which makes things a bit more tense and entertaining. I got used to keyboard/mouse with RE6 though quite quickly, so hopefully the same will happen with Dead Space I didn't actually realize it had become a massive franchise when I got it though. Super out of the loop here, I just got it so I had something new to try out. I'm really surprised. I'll see how much I enjoy it before I decide whether or not I wanna get stuck into the others.

Takaya sure likes that pose! http://www.japan-legend.com/guyver_advocacy/18_-_Target_Ark_of_Uranus/109

Yeah, very impressive. I was particularly impressed by the second guy who came face-to-face with the "Jerk". I would be pretty scared to play that role.

I prefer the brown shade of the third Vamore, though the shading could afford to be darker as well. Also I think maybe a few tweaks might help it out a bit - I agree with what LordSpleach said about the chest and this is how I feel it could be changed: The rest of the body looks swell though dude

I have no idea about the purple tendrils that seem to wrap up Sho, but I would seriously doubt that Sho can tear a portion of the armour off like that. Not only would it show that the Guyver armour really isn't that strongly put together, but also because it wouldn't make sense - the Guyver armour changes Sho's proportions. It just wouldn't make any sense.

In such a rage, I don't think Val would simply buy that his CM malfunctioned. It would be a very Sho thing to do, to try and talk her into peace, but I doubt she'd just simply accept that and join him. Maybe unless she was pushed into a similar situation with her CM and Sho spared her, would be her "moment of clarity".

I have to say, the first time I saw the trailer I was absolutely appalled by the re-designs. And I still am. They are hideous. Sabrewulf looks like Booster from Jingle All The Way. When I saw gameplay of Glacius though, he did look like quite a fun character to play as. Despite his horrid re-design, he probably will be quite enjoyable to use (though perhaps a little too different from his original incarnation for my taste). I feel like you really have to go into this game without the previous versions in mind which makes no sense to me. I am terrified to see what they did to Fulgore, who was my favourite. My opinion probably doesn't matter that much since I won't be getting an XBone, but maybe at some point in the future I will get a chance to somehow play this game.

Ah, I take back what I said a long time ago about being disappointed with Val Well now that we have the flashback and backstory explained and outta the way, let's hope next chapter we get updates on the crew

Nice one. I think the bright red border and the fact that they are constantly static when you scroll up and down makes them hard to not notice. But I guess time will tell

Late to the party here, but yes I also remember being very disappointed at seeing Team 5 in the Opening of Act 2 and not seeing them themselves. When I later read the manga/watched the TV series, I also just assumed that was a way for the creators to sort of save themselves by suggesting they could be brought back if a third act was ever made. Of course, Guyot also suggests this heavily. Now that I really think about it, they set themselves up quite well. If Episode 13 is Guyot's attack on the gang, Episode 14 could have potentially been the re-introduction of Team 5 and Aptom's attack on them. Or they could even have been introduced at the end of Episode 13, much like they were at the end of Episode 3. That fits nicely as a throwback actually! Guyver III could probably say he found Sho and Mizuki in the woods through all that telepathy malarky the Guyvers seemed to have in the OVA, with no need for the whole Takeshiro thing to happen again What I really liked about the OVA was that each episode had a contained section of the plot and covered its own specific battle/moment of the story. So we would've been in store for a very nice OVA.

Neat, you went for more anime-style colours? It's an interesting take

Had a look through and this stuff is awesome! It really makes it clear why all the OOC characters look so distinct compared to the other adaptations - all the characters' proportions are different. I could never really pinpoint why they looked so different before. On the first page of Guyver I's designs, there seems to be a front and profile sketch from Takaya, but in the next page there are sketchs from the OOC artist that make him look totally different. Of course some characters simply have slight changes to their designs, such as Gregole and his feet. Also interesting how they were gonna use a slight variation of the original Guyver II design. Anyway, thanks again for this Matt, it's great!

I guess you have pretty strong reasoning behind it Ryuki. I can appreciate your frustration with how hard it is to get these things out there and if you feel this is the best way then you probably know best. At the end of the day, it is simply an aesthetic distraction, it doesn't really hinder my reading of the board. But I will suggest one thing: moving the "Search Wiki" button to the top so that there is no unsightly gap between the bottom two buttons

Thanks a lot for these Matt! I'm gonna have an eager peruse through the images a little later
-
Yeah, they have a few pictures each. I think maybe 4 or 5 in the whole book, all done by the same artist. I can try and get pictures of them at some point in the future if you guys want. I have the first two novels
-
Which DVD box is that? The one you got with volume 2?Also very classy display guyverfan. I'm sure in 100 years when people discover the ancient treasure that was Guyver manga, they will have all the volumes set up like that in a museum hehe
-
It's from the first novel I believe. I definitely have that image in a book somewhere and I believe it is the first novel.<br />I would go check to make sure, but all my guyver manga and stuff is stored in a closet somewhere while i re-do my room.

Anyone not impressed by the whole Valkyria thing?
Bio-Boosted Dude replied to Masamune's topic in Guyver
I think perhaps the only real disappointment is the fact that she isn't an original design or character, right down to the name. That does support your theory of her being just an insert. But like Ryuki said, she is interesting to see! I don't mind her at all. -
Yeah, I watched the scene again and it's face looks squid-like. With the vertical mouth it reminds me a bit of Kadan, so maybe these designs were more influential than we might've thought
-
That purple one actually looks really cool, but definitely not very Zoanoid-like. There's a clear difference between what Takaya designed and what was designed by the OVA team. Including the brown Enzyme, they all seem to have very generic muscular bodies

Didn't he say at some point he regretted killing off Lisker so early? Maybe this is how he'll make up for it. I imagine this flashback lasting several chapters
