  1. heh heh, thanks yeah I changed my name back. also changed my signature. to be honest, I have held back a lot of what I wanted to do. I wanted to really cut the forum down, delete a lot more than I actually did. but I need to consider the member-base more than my own wishes.
  2. ooh! it's on tv now! i missed the beginning though I must say though, this looks great and is as funny as ever! I am so impressed by the set design. it looks amazing! Lordspleach, when will you guys get to see this?
  3. thanks bbdude, yeah I decided the design i had been working on was not going to be upgraded to animation status any time soon so I better utilise it as a static design. also you are right, that was also part of my thinking. shake things up, people pay attention.
  4. i understand. i wish there was an easier way to maintain skins. no such luck, I have to go through lines and lines of template code and CSS code. it's a nightmare.
  5. Hi CybErSpicE, Thank you so much for your heartfelt words! I really appreciate your message but please don't feel guilty for enjoying guyver in your own way. if you're not much of a talker then that is just fine. I certainly wouldn't want anybody to feel uncomfortable. if there is any way you can tell all your friends about guyver and get them excited enough about it to read it and possibly come and talk to us, that would be great. just share it as much as you'd like
  6. it's your choice. anything that makes you feel happy and enthusiastic. if you are excited about it, then that is the best thing. I agree. was that a request or is it something you are planning to do yourself? if it was a request, I have a lot on my plate so I can't help there right now. but I am certain there are members around here who can lend a hand.
  7. we pretty much stopped that though. salkafar does one sometimes and changes the dialogue to localise it, someone else might do another version trying to keep the dialogue untouched. any version is valid and i took to loading each version to the manga viewer so people could freely pick. it is tricky though, because some members also think that guyver deserves the highest quality work as a mark of respect to the author. this is also valid. personally, I don't really care so much right now. the main thing I care about is that people who like guyver can find us easily and talk about guyver until their heart bursts.
  8. ah sorry, yeah durendal, if you can do that, it would be great! the hiragana is too small and I would have a nightmare trying to lookup the kanji. not that familiar with it. plus I have a truckload of design work to do and i'm trying to get a job in korea.
  9. I have trimmed down a lot of the forum. to be honest, I am surprised your post count didn't go down more. you must not have posted a lot at the beginning of the forum. a lot of old topics are gone. as a result, post counts have gone down and very old users who don't visit any more had zero post count. those users who have low post count and haven't visited in more than several months, have been deleted. this is all in favour of making the forum feel lighter, with less history and less information overload. this in turn should help any potential new users to feel they can fit in more comfortably. about the forum skin, it is to match the new front page. there is something i am enquiring into at the moment which could actually see it changing to blue, but i don't know how likely it is. the red was to match gigantic exceed.
  10. brilliant, I will make you admin of it. thanks a whole bunch, you'll really be doing a great deed.
  11. isolation is not good. this site has grown up since many years ago, but it is very much an island. trying to provide all things but only really succeeding in one area. the gallery just hasn't taken off and the wiki area of the site is not as well developed as i had hoped. not to mention google searches and other sites are linking to places other than here for things that we may even do better. well people will go where they want to go and we can't affect that. but what we can do is to go where the people go. or at least join up with those places. for example, we talk about armoured legends such as kamen rider and super sentai, but in general, people who talk about that like to go to a place like HJU. and they have far more discussion about that.does it make sense for us to compete with them? no. the guyver wikia has been a source of upset for quite some time for me, since we have a wonderful amount of information in our wiki and a community to easily discuss all the goings on etc. it frustrated me that people would rather develop the guyver wikia rather than develop0 the japan legend project toku wiki. but we can't judge people's choices. there must be a reason why people prefer to develop that, even if it does make me feel sad. so perhaps it is time to remove our wiki? or merge with them somehow? then in so doing, there is a bridge. a bridge that we can help to bring people into this community with. our twitter account is not working well. I just can't keep on top of it. our facebook page is also not working very well. I am thinking I need somebody to take those over. or they will not be working. to be honest i don't need to extra hassle, I already got so much to do. the most important thing, that I have said time and time again, and thanks for those who have helped in this regard, we need to tell people that guyver is here. if you visit another forum, put our site in your signature. if you tweet or facebook, please let out a blurb every now and then. we have syndication links at the bottom of every thread. please use them as much as you can! what is the reason for all of this? we used to have a lovely community with lots of familiar 'faces'. but people don't come back because there is no talking. there is no talking because we are not getting influx of new ideas. not enough fresh meat.
  12. teleportation would involve one object disappearing from one place and appearing in another. what we are looking at appears to be a gate. one the other side appears to be void space. so it may not be a wormhole, but it is a portal of some kind.
  13. viz is generally closer to the original text. so you'd be better off trusting what they put down.
  14. Aether, what you're doing is what I might expect a fan to do. it's precisely why I started a forum right from the very start. to talk about what we love and to support it and inspire other people to come talk to us about it. it's just a shame that it shines a light on a very sad issue. I think fan interest in guyver has just fallen.
  15. yeah it was pretty interesting how this topic was posted momentarily before i posted mine. it's was like, I posted my question and here cometh the answer! so my thread is probably obsolete now anyway. probably worth letting it be.
  16. but kenji, I thought you lived quite close to SF? wasn't it only a few miles ? or am i getting confused with SJ? well if you're ever really stuck, I can help out. although it cost more to get from amazon JP, I can buy it for you and you can send me the funds by whatever means is best.
  17. you know what saddens me the most about your threads aether? the amount of people posting in them. we have so many members, so many guyver fans. and yet you make some incredibly interesting and engaging threads about guyver, really getting into the guts of what makes guyver great... and there is only dave and me responding. it's very sad that this is what has become of the guyver fandom. It makes me wonder why I pay a monthly fee to keep this server running.
  18. I think it's interesting to watch the intro to the hulk movie. he shows cell regeneration using things like star fish. I think. lizards can lose their tail i think. and i think it can regrow. nut legs is a bit too much. even for a salamander? I know that something to do with those axalotl will be made up of stem cells or something. so those things can apparently heal from amazing injury? and they are like a species of salamander.

I think most people don't consider them hacks and don't think they suck balls. if they did, the movies wouldn't make money. people enjoy them. if the definition of good is something that most people won't appreciate and the definition of crappy is something that everyone really enjoys and wants more of, then I want to live in the most crappy world. peter jackson... hmm, well he did do a good job of adapting a rather long saga for the silver screen. he managed to convince the producers to put up the enormous amount of money to make it happen. I think he'd do a good job.

salkafar, I wonder if the message is not that we are failures, but rather something more like this:- the creators could try and make life, but life wants to be free and be self deterministic. the creators wanted to make life into a weapon, but shou demonstrates clearly throughout the series that life is not able to be purely made into a weapon, rather life seeks to protect the dearest ones. something like that. but i think philosophically, it could work fine as a movie. that is my view. I am unsure if Christopher Nolan could do it justice. the batman films felt macabre to me. or if not macabre, then rather gloomy and never felt very positive. I think guyver is different. although it deals with horrific themes, i feel that it deals with those themes through shou's perspective. that of innocence and a focus on living and freedom.
  23. thinking abut it now, I'd like to suggest there is something else at play. we've seen this breach in void space by various characters. guyver gigantic does it with the cocoon. archanfel does it and apollon does it. but zoalords that have been shown to be keenly attuned to gravitational forces and can clearly generate massive gravity wells, haven't been shown to be able to use this ability. so I think something else is at play when considering a conduit to void space.
