  1. wow, that blows! what a shame that the work was wasted. I see your point about the reduced detail on the costume. I can understand that. I'm not sure though. the one that is more shiny has a different shape to it too. it's a bit more bulky in areas and more contoured. load up those two pics of him on the bike and you can see the difference, although you've probably already done that
  2. I can't see any reason why they would have a different costume for the stuntman. it doesn't make sense because the stuntman needs to look as close to the actor as possible.
  3. those are interesting images, I wonder why it looks like there are three versions. maybe they don't fully build him and he starts out with basic armour and they improve him over time? now I am more intrigued by this movie.
  4. I went to the museum and there was an exhibit about the french wars. there was a description of what cannons used to do to the soldiers and what the field surgeons had to do. I'm really glad I live in the modern world because the things that went on, it is truly nightmarish to even think about it. weapons are horrendous things. that is how I feel about it. sorry, I don't mean to rain on your parade. I'm sure it was very fascinating and I am glad you had a nice time
  5. this might work. I've been working on a basic line rendition to see if i could get the dimensions right. take a look and see what you think.
  6. I always thought it was the hollywood producers who were bad for that kind of thing? I'll have to watch that documentary soon to see if i can spot anything that might have been better left out of prometheus. at the moment, I can't think of anything that I would take out.. but maybe the line by charlize theron where she calls him father. it seems a bit out of place like it's supposed to be a big shock, but it has zero consequences in the story so it just sticks out like a sore thumb. I've tried to place it into context somehow, but I'm struggling with that part so I would have to call foul on that line.
  7. nicely spotted Cannibal!!! yes, my intention was to re-animate the scenes from some episodes of the OVA. but it took me all evening to do that one frame. so I'm not sure if I will re-animate them.... unless I find a way to simplify the design while still making it faithful and look good.
  8. I remember the visuals being pretty bad on that episode. so it can't be that can it?
  9. Youngguyver, thanks, I understand completely the point you are making. I guess I still maintain that he was merely way too excited, but I accept that the premise was flawed. to be honest, I did think he took his helmet off way to readily when i watched that part. I just don't think the movie should be condemned because of what i view as a nitpick which can potentially be explained by any number of things. salkafar, I'm sure there are many films that you enjoy thoroughly that display issues, some of which could be explained and some of which can't. a lot of people are big fans of lord of the rings films, but those have glaring issues. the one that always gets me is how samwise attacks one of the nine on weather top. he should have been paralysed like in the book. I like the film because of the way it makes me feel. the atmosphere and the premise ad the visuals. Super Existence, yeah I have the furious gods documentary. I have watched about 10 minutes so far. seems like good stuff. maybe i will have a different opinion after watching it all?
  10. no, no, I understand. it's not what I meant. I know it's not for malicious purposes, it's just that Guns are not a thing here. Gun's are something I only see in movies and games. the mere idea of them is something that feels very dangerous to me.
  11. hmm.. so you go to a gun show, and you buy a gun, and you intend to use it? that is pretty scary in my culture.
  12. saying it like that makes it sounds like you are specifically prejudiced against me and my opinion. is that what is going on here? if so, why? after all we DO agree that the movie is beautiful. so.... I do feel you are treating me very unfairly with your comments, you come into the thread, make some challenging points, then when I respond, you essentially cut me off and stone-wall me. if you dislike the movie that's fine but that's not my fault please stop treating me this way.
  13. please identify the source of the screenshot. note: there is a trick to this. edit: somebody got it and thus the name of the thread is changed. more details below.
  14. sorry, I had completely forgotten about her ability to jump. can't even really remember it being pointed out. they must have done a poor job at introducing that. I can certainly think of hiromu's speed and ryuji's strength. those have been shown quite clearly but i can't think of her ability very much at all. now I think i understand how the powered custom might help that. I do recall one move where she did a rather cool jump kick reminiscent of liu kang. I haven't seen the more recent episode because tvnihon have not released it yet.
  15. can i ask you to elaborate on yoko's powers? I am not sure what you mean. her powers are the same as the others aren't they? I am not really fussed about the powered custom to be honest. I don't hate them but i don't really like them either. I'm of the opinion that upgrades are not an important thing since i feel it can promote lazy writing. concurrently, it can be used for very creative writing. up until now, I didn't really notice it as anything significant.
  16. wow, that was unexpected. thanks durendal! was interesting to read.
  17. yeah I agree, there have been some very cool moments and I am still enjoying it. just felt a little bit like something was missing. like the last episode was very cool.
  18. Thanks Salkafar. this is the kind of dialogue I can appreciate. this is your personal opinion and I can totally respect that. I'm not sure about whether i agree with it or not. I mean, holloway was an archaeologist. he is used to 'getting his hands dirty' so to speak. He would be used to going into ancient tombs that may harbour god knows what kind of dormant bacteria. He wouldn't be concerned about getting his body contaminated for a start and in regards to the alien environment, he may simply have been too excited and wants to get up close as many archaeologists do. I can understand if he was a biologist or a chemist, he might not behave that way. the other members of the team clearly objected, but once he had taken his helmet off it was too late. so there wasn't much sense in them worrying about contamination any more. I understand it was insulting, I don't see it that way. I guess i would like to know if after reading my take on it, are you willing to change your stance or are you very strong in your opinion?
  19. I noticed that part 3 of the series was released !!
  20. that small little bit then.... wouldn't that sort of ... blow up our whole planet? ha ha , I love these videos! thanks for posting
  21. still watching? I was thinking about this last night. it seems to have slowed down story-wise. I'm finding that I would like something more. after the initial character introductions along with their weaknesses etc, it seems that the character development has been somewhat sporadic. there doesn't seem to be any real direction. the characters don#t seem to have any more depth being added. for example, their weaknesses. why these particular weaknesses? then there is the seeming relationship between ryuji and escape. where has that gone? it seems like the intricate story that was being weaved, has been almost abandoned. I'm not sure i understand what's going on any more. can you relate to what i am saying?
  22. thanks youngguyver. the way I see it, they are not from NASA or a large responsible organisation, they are essentially a mercenary crew funded by a private organisation. I don't think contamination procedures are that important to them. yes, I hope you watch it and i hope you can appreciate the directors vision. I know you like mise en scene and the film is note worthy for that alone. yes there appears to be only one person defending it on this forum. but look at my earlier post... it was 'liked' by lordspleach so I like to think he agrees with me that this is a good film. it is true the internet seems to be split by this film. the comments section on the article salkafar linked to is full of conflicting opinions.
  23. the 'town mook' book is a fabled guyver merchandise. on the front of your book, it has the words 'town mook'. that is what it is.
  24. these look really good! I'm curious at the different size of some of the images. was it a mistake or was it intentional? I think the larger ones are beautiful. and I realised something. this is the fabled 'town mook' book! very cool! we finally get to see it!
  25. evidently it doesn't to be honest, I was more interested in hearing your opinion. since you originally told me I will find the movie dumb on second watch and you told me why. I responded to those points. but it's ok. no worries. seriously, if you don't like the movie, I'm fine with that, but I'd prefer to know why you dislike it, not some internet moron who can't put 2 and 2 together to make 4. and if you can't put your finger on the reason you didn't like it, no problem
