  1. haven't watched it for a little bit, been focused on natsume yuujinchou, but I may give this a couple of evenings soon. I have about 2 or 3 episodes saved up to watch it really doesn't disappoint, does it?
  2. hellsing was cool. but i cannot remember which one i watched. the theme was "the world without logos". love it. I'm currently... just finished natsume yuujinchou san. and about to move onto natsume yuujinchou shi. after shi, I will be left with no more natsume and nyanko sensei unless the gracious anime producers decide to give us the gift of natsume yuujinchou go/itsu ! I'm also still watching gintama. does anyone else watch this at all ?
  3. I don';t remember the full details of our discussions or even who was involved so I don't really remember the other ideas, I hardly even remember my own ideas but what you say here is really interesting because when the guyver is called from the boost dimension, it does cause a shockwave around the summoner. this is consistent with the effects of the pressure cannon so you could be right about that. though, I have to think it is a directed pressure wave because if guyver was throwing a wormhole along a trajectory, I feel like the wormhole going into a body would cause an explosive force and result in them being blown to pieces. doesn't it appear like the effect is a directional force? perhaps it is a wormhole causing a pressure wave? or perhaps it is a singularity? or just highly condensed matter? is there even a difference, apart from intensity? what do you think?
  4. cheers bbdude. well actually, I'm no longer desperate to sell it. I managed to scrape through that tough patch somehow. perhaps I will keep the book. well unless somebody offers me a high price for it or unless it were one of a select few people who have worked on the guyver advocacy scanlations.
  5. I'll see if I can get a translation for you. ------ ãã‚‚ãã‚‚ãれらを生ã¿ã ã™æ¯ä½“ã¨ãªã£ãŸã“ã®â€å®‡å®™èˆ¹â€ãã®ã‚‚ã®ãŒ from the beginning they were birthing, the bearing body being the "spaceships" themselves, é™è‡¨è€…é”ã®å‰µã‚Šå‡ºã—ãŸã€Œé“å…·ã¨ã—ã¦ã®ã€ç”Ÿå‘½ä½“ã ã£ãŸã®ã The advents' manufacturing 'equipment' lifeforms edited, played with, double checked. the most accurate I can get it.
  6. it's sort of like a slice of life spoof type thing.
  7. Ah ok I get it now. this is the only novel I have ever had. if you want it and you have any spare funds you could make me a sensible offer if you like.
  8. really? The EVA's were biological constructs. those don't look biological. so it's more of a very loose interpretation?
  9. yep, that is true. so the pressure cannon, what i neglected to mention is that it used the gravitational power to create the area of high pressure / high density. it does most certainly use the gravity controller, that much is clear. also, we can take notice of his newer ability with the XD, where he creates a micro singularity. he pretty much does it the same way although it is of course far higher powered. about the headbeam, it uses excess heat from the guyver's system to fire that so I thik it is variable in power output.
  10. yeah that's kind of an interesting point. for the lord of the rings films, they cut out some major stuff. they cut out one part that I thought was the most important part, the culmination of the hobbits' journey. so they are really elaborating on gandalf's diversion? that was really brief in the book so I wonder how they can elaborate on it. with it not being what tolkein wrote... it could be awful.
  11. oh man! that looks so awesome!! it looks like they are doing it properly! no messing about, that is seriously, daikajuu vs mecha. none of that godzilla hollywood crap, this is the real deal.
  12. we don't really have a definitive, factual definition of exactly how the pressure cannon works. we have had various discussions about it and it sort of went a little like this. the guyver uses compressor in the wrist and focuses with his fingers. this is described in the VDF. we think that what is happening is that the guyver is forming an area of incredible density. then when he releases it, it creates a pressure wave. sort of like a sound wave but instead of being many pressure waves oscillating at frequency, it would be one big pressure wave. focused. basically anything it hits, experiences this localised shockwave. this appears to be what is happening and is the way it is represented in manga and anime. whatever gets hit by it, appears that it is getting 'punched' by the air.
  13. IMO the movie trailers really killed this movie. it probably would have done much better if the trailers were better. i saw some clips of this movie on tv, and what i recall seems very attractive. I think this is the same thing they do for a lot of movies. I also saw a tv trailer for the twilight film. I saw the cinematic trailers for it and it looks like a pile of trash. just some punks running about in the woods. but the tv trailer showed dialogue and character interaction and scenes in houses etc. looked a bit more interesting. I wonder if this spiderman film is a lot better than the trailers made it look? well you guys seem to like it so that must be the case.
  14. I've read the Hobbit so I know what to expect. but three films? I never caught that news flash, so I'm quite surprised. I find myself really wondering just how they could create three films from the hobbit! The book was not that long and I don't recall that many events that could make a decent three films. granted it was a very long time ago when i read it, but i remember the main set pieces. I recall about 6 or 7 major plot points. to make 3 films needs about 9 to 12 major plot points. I can understand you feeling like there isn't any parts in the movie that you could thing "that was awesome!" because it seems they are stretching the story too thin. I've got a lot of stuff going on so I don't expect to watch this one in the cinema, even though I was looking forward to it since the announcement. judging from your response, I may not be missing out on too much.
  15. you need to read the takaya interview in animerica. it's in the Manga viewer. The name for Guyver comes from Megadiver, one of Takaya Sensei's favuorite tv series growing up. take a look:- メガダイãƒãƒ¼ ガイãƒãƒ¼ try this link for takeshiro - http://goo.gl/maps/Zgu0T and try this one for mount minakami. matsushiro is easy to spot to the west of it. - http://goo.gl/maps/tnOfW
  16. that ought to be takeshiro chome. chome is a district of a city. but takeshiro ginza? that is very odd. ginza is a popular shopping district in tokyo. damn, I wish i could see the japanese book for this. WAIT. I can read these parts in the scan somebody sent me for translating these early books. the sign on the street does indeed say takeshiro ginza. this means it is the 'ginza' of takeshiro. it's on the gate so it is referring to this area being the shopping district. The title of the chapter refers to takeshiro town. the following page describes them as being in 'N city' area. I did find a takeshiro on google maps. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=%E7%AB%B9%E4%BB%A3&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=34.918628,137.164178&spn=0.016257,0.03459&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&hq=%E7%AB%B9%E4%BB%A3&radius=15000&t=h&z=15 it is closest to nagoya. but I don't think it is close enough to be a direct match. the mountain we found that held the similarity with mount minakami is near nagano (as well as being named mount minakami). https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=%E7%AB%B9%E4%BB%A3&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&sa=N&tab=wl edit: btw the kanji for matsushiro town right next to the real mount minakami uses the same second kanji as takeshiro. also, I found an interesting page talking about secret headquarters underneath the real mount minakami... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matsushiro_Underground_Imperial_Headquarters
  17. who? what? where? who got 60 quid for their novel?
  18. I am pretty sure that site still exists. I think it is archived on the warriorguyver site. edit: yep, I believe this is what you are talking about? http://warriorguyver.com/guyver2playground/index.htm

yes this sounds wonderful. if it is subtle then there is more chance of it being uploaded to various sites. but before it is posted I want to ask that any pages be sent to me in private. I want to add some things to the EXIF data. absolutely. even if it were just a case of somebody using a school computer and their mate logging in their account.
  20. I signed the petition. we need better power systems even if the gas and oil company's don't like it.. I love reactor stuff. a shame thunderfoots video was a little boring this time.

If you are willing, I would like to teach you how to do an html page. I don't want to 'put you out of a job'. cannibal, that sounds like a very clever idea. I think that is possible to do with photoshop. you can slice images up and save as a html page. print screen is the enemy though.

lost unit, I am not sure what to do about the VDF etc. we have had these available for a very long time so I am thinking a lot of people already have those pages saved to their computers. I can't see any need to change the way they are presented. about the new book though, I think the html method of presenting it is very effective. not only is it easier and less time consuming, it is nifty and it also deters people from potentially stealing. on top of that, it presents the book in it's original format for any member who can read japanese or has an interest in learning or simply wants to see the original text for some other unspecified reason.
  23. it is exciting at first isn't it don't worry about posting more stuff, that's what a blog is for. there may come a point where you wish you had something to post, so don't waste this opportunity p.s. homemade steak? yes. definitely.
  24. that is of course a huge blessing. meeting your wife and having a child. who knows, the same may happen to me. well I sure as hell am not meting anyone here!

I'm just glad you guys like it. I thought it was pretty nifty when I tried it out. I've done a fair bit of typsetting in the past and creating the html page was like a dream. and reading the end result is so interesting. I like the idea of screwing with those sites. prepare a version of a scanlation which is subtly mocking them. this is something i thought about over the past two days. watermark is cool, but what if we sort of invented our own dialogue, that dialogue would be written in a way that mocks manga hosting sites and tells people to go to the right place for the manga. if they are stupid enough to re-post that to their site then it would be so funny and also a great job. Khamen, nice to meet you.
