oh that is promising then. that is one of my issues assuaged and the other kinda placated. I'm not sure how important his ethnicity is in regards to the story so I don't know if it matters so much!

What live-action series are you watching or have you watched?
Jess♥ replied to Toku Warrior's topic in Japanese Entertainment
I might consider watching that then. I'm not really a fan of horror though. so I'm unsure. I'll keep it in mind. I'm watching a drama called papadol at the moment. well, I'm also watching zenkai girl, just got the last episode to watch.. but last episodes are difficult to get through. anyhow, papadol is about an idol who marries a woman to become a papa. this causes a problem since idols are not allowed to be in relationships as it spoils their appeal to fans. -
I see, it seems a bit more interesting now but i have a couple issues. maybe the trailer is just really poor, but if the mandarin is from china, then i would have expected to see some recognisable scenes of china in the trailer. also, i would have expected them to get an actor with at least SOME sense of chinese ethnicity to him, rather than indian. The mandarin seems like a really interesting character but from that trailer, it doesn't appear as though they are doing him any justice. that 'extremis' seems interesting... although i wish they hadn't named him something that sounds like it was written in the back of a schoolbook.

good work dude. I think the way the different sections are separated works really well. I'd like to see this kind of thing done as a flash application. people could click on separate parts and get different information popping up. for delivering these files to the world, you could use picasa?

cheers dude. I think the changes were for the better. the way people are interacting is a little different in some ways and i think it is giving the community a better all round vibe. I wanted to do more, but of late I have had a period of being super mad busy.

I'm curious to know what this is about. the trailer doesn't give much clues what the premise is supposed to be. I know what iron man is and i see he has lots of new suits, but i'm seeing something similar to ironman 2. some ethnic looking guy who seems to have a grudge. now ironman 2 was fun but ultimately didn't have much of re-watchable value. it was a throw-away movie. I am wondering what it is about this movie that is special? perhaps they are just bad at making trailers lately? can anyone who is familiar with ironman comics, cast some light on this?

upcoming series Kamen Rider Wizard - september 2012
Jess♥ replied to Jess♥'s topic in Japanese Entertainment
re: choreography, I think maybe we are spoiled by gobusters? gobusters has some incredibly fights and great action. wizard has not got any good choreography that i have noticed. but I'll take your word for it, I understand the choreography may be good and perhaps i don't focus on it as much as the storyline. yeah it is sad that it is all we really have. kamen rider is kamen rider and if this is current kamen rider, we don't have any other kamen rider. -
it's an excellent piece of work. the general proportions are great. the lower legs have a good amount of 'heft' to them and the shoulders are a great size. I tried to vote but i am not sure if the site was working properly. well if the site worked, my vote went through. otherwise, not much i can do!

upcoming series Kamen Rider Wizard - september 2012

who's still watching this? what are your thoughts on it? I'm not thrilled by it to be honest. in fact i'm finding it rather boring. it sort of seems like a cheap copy of what OOO did. the way the bad guys are behaving it looks just like the greed. and i just don't see anything else about it so far that is in any way interesting. they just seem to be going through the motions. even fourze was more interesting. it's sad... this is what has become of kamen rider. they are just using carbon copy plot and premise as an excuse to make a tonne of stupid little robots and other things that can be sold in the toy shop. I've got no huge problem with it being essentially a long toy advert, but it needs to be a tv program on top of that. even the design of him... with fourze I hated it, but at least that was an emotional response. with wizard I find that I don't really care so much. in a sense, that is a lot worse. -
I would just personally prefer to phrase that as :- 'we don't currently know of a sensible way in which a self contained system could be possible.' and 'it would violate our currently accepted notion of how energy and matter exist.' after all, we have no evidence of how the 'laws of physics' started and whether or not they remain constant over trillions of years. anyhow, youngguyver, thanks for posting it, I love this type of video. it's so cool to see this stuff in action!

good plan! yes absorbing something is good. but i was thinking that if a man is in a desert and has a camel with him and lots of water, he is ok. because the only thing he needs to collect from the environment is air. the same in an ocean liner. of course these are not self contained organisms but they represent the ideal. a (mostly) self contained system or organism travelling in the depths of space could use the same fuel that stars use and is in abundance. hydrogen. I understand it is not completely self contained but as you stated, it is of course impossible to be completely self contained if movement is necessary. what fun would it be to be a stellar nomad and not be able to travel~?

I find that statement tough to digest. A quick search yielded this - The laws of physics were written by humans as a way to understand the way the world works. Is it not arrogant to think we've got it all 100% correct and can't be found to be wrong at any moment.

I find it very interesting the position in which he holds his legs. it makes me think that they are actually considering details like this, and therefore have a rather serious attitude towards the premise. so long as they are taking it seriously, I don't hate it. perhaps it will give me a different feeling about the franchise.

Here is presented a google map with locations from the Guyver Manga marked upon it. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=210367903865238092189.000450ba83928f9034a17&msa=0

ok, I'll take your word for it. I just think that as time goes on, we humans tend to rewrite the laws of physics. so something we expect to be impossible now, won't be impossible in the future.
-
can't check the other parts for now, but when valkryia used it on EIII, they were frozen. unless she used it twice of course.
-
well if energy can't be created or destroyed then i don't see how a self contained system would ever have a problem?

Lost unit, very nice! It looks like a similar kit to mine. Here I will show you. It has a special paint job usin the special technique. Painting with dust from above. Very technical.

stars don't violate the laws of thermodynamics, but they generate energy from within. that's where I'm coming from. yeah the things called 'chance' and 'probability' are odd constructs. I mean, things that have a really low chance of happening, happen all the time.

give it time, the forum is not heaving with people I personally have a hard time commenting on these things as I can be too focused on the fine details and I don't want to disrespect what is obviously a labour of love and require a high degree of skill. plus I'm really tired and will probably give a better reply tomorrow.

I can't say whether that is right or wrong, I can only say that doesn't appear to be represented in the manga or the VDF. If you're remembering past fan musings or fan theory, then I think it's best to forget about it and concentrate on what is in the manga as primary source and VDF as secondary. unless it was with the tv series booklet? I don't have access to that so I can't check it. I'm not sure how reliable it would be either.

ah yes. I did phrase my post a bit weird. I know what you meant, our earliest ancestors, the earliest life. but i never quite got the rock structure. so perhaps it is similar to coral in some way. except in reverse. comparing that type of life to current life, it seems like we could have far more advanced organisms in the future. perhaps our technological advancement could result in something more advanced than a cellular structure or something. and that form of organism would be as different to us as we are to the pockets of chemicals in rock bubbles? sort of in some way... the rock chambers kept a sort of mini ecosystem. now our environment contains our ecosystem. maybe in the future, we will not need an environment to contain an ecosystem. maybe we can have a completely self contained ecosystem within a single organism. edit: so as our planet is currently one big energy net for the suns rays, and that energy is transferred into a form that we can use. our current energy consumption and acquisition would not be sufficient for an evolution of our species. instead the future of our 'life envelope', the future of 'earth' is probably more dependant on energy generation rather than energy collection. we ought to be looking at a paradigm shift where 'life' as we currently understand it is all to do with gathering of the suns energy and using that up, but we will evolve 'life' into a form where we generate our own energy and have no more need for a star to support us.

we do have clues about what the megasmasher actually fires. the VDF says it gathers 'light' in the iris. it is described as a particle canon. however it works, it appears to tear apart whatever is in front of it. it is possible that it is firing a beam of plasma. edit: some methods of creating a plasma include focusing high powered lasers to ionize the particles, this could be what we see happening in the smasher when charging. it also matches up to the description in the VDF. looking at wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasma_weapon this article points us to particle beam http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Particle_beam so essentially what we could be looking at is the megasmasher is gathering a plasma by means of powerful lasers and then accelerating them as a particle beam? sounds plausible to me.

I share that view and is a big reason why I detest the hulk film with Edward Norton in it. At first, I refused to watch it, but then recently I decided to give it a chance. Didn't get very far. they need less style, more substance. it was senseless because the hulk had a damn fine movie only 5 years before. the spiderman thing is the same. senseless. but robocop was 25 years ago. many kids these days simply won't watch a film from that long ago. it's funny you brought up judge dredd. how many of you guys are aware that robocop was heavily influenced by JD? well talking of judge dredd, the original has reached cult status so a remake of that was a bad idea IMO. and messing with his design was also stupid. I'm not going to watch something that is an insult to the original design. the massive shoulder pads are iconic. that's like making batman sans-cape.

salkafar, I don't know about our ancestors being part stone, but our teeth are made out of what is essentially ground up chalk. and we do have a lot of salt in us too. I wonder though, have i missed the point of what you were saying?
