for an order of that size, we could work to reduce the cost drastically. no need for buying new packaging and can send as one parcel. of course, lordspleach was correct, if we were handling the package as we normally do treating them as separate books. that would end up around that area, but it would be more like $540 not $600. that is because it would be domestic shipping. I think in any case where somebody wants to order more than say, 10 books, we should look at a special order rather than just using the paypal buttons. I think we're talking about $390 for 29 books. I think we ought to consider creating paypal buttons for bulk orders.

Let's see your Guyver Collections,Figures,Manga, etc Discussion Thread!
Jess♥ replied to Darksenshi's topic in Guyver
I'm thinking the old thread may be a bit intimidating by now, it was going on for quite a while. let's see if anyone else has an opinion on that. there is an interesting alternative and that is to place a link to the older thread in the first post of this thread.. -
thanks for letting me know anyhow yes for a first edition / collectors item that is a bit low. but i appreciate you giving me the info anyway.
-
thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. I'd like to know what is your offer for my vol 1? and if you were in a better position, what would be your ideal offer? just out of curiosity.
-
I would also sell my novel.

I'm not really following this topic but I feel like I need to say something. I am a little concerned about off topic posts. maybe it's not an issue, but if I noticed it then I think it's important just to say something. don't want to be a knucklehead and make anyone feel uncomfortable. a bit of off topic is fine. just remember what other visitors will be expecting to see. btw, you guys are more than welcome to make new threads if you want to discuss something. please don't feel restricted in any way.

response from Brian, he just put chapter 2 up last week and is doing some template redesigns on the site. still working on it.
-
from what I know, Brian went and got quite heavily into world of warcraft? but more recently he has apparently come away from that and started writing again. I think he intended to start afresh and write it with improved skill. I don't keep up to date completely with what they get up to with the fanfics, I can easily ask him on facebook though.

hey all, I'd like to gauge interest for these items. I have the libertus and griselda gashapon figures with box. I have collapsed the box, they are not mint condition but the figures are in excellent condition and the boxes are pretty much in tact. ( i collapsed them flat to store them safely) my first edition shonen captain vol 1, is of course the first version of the tankoubon. it has all the unedited art and original paper quality, much nicer than the newer prints IMO. I've had it for ages but I have looked after it. i keep it in a small bookcase and i do flip through it now and then but the pages are not damaged, the only damage is slightly dented corners on the spine. I would like to know if anyone is interested in these things.

sparta101, I'll definitely get a picture of my cel to show you. I don't really need it and I am in need of money right now. even if it doesn't equate to much money... I think it's worth considering it.
-
I have a cel of guyver and nothing else. I haven't identified what episode it is from. it's currently being stored at my friends house so I can't show you. I might be willing to sell it. it depends on what sort of prices you usually pay for them.

What live-action series are you watching or have you watched?
Jess♥ replied to Toku Warrior's topic in Japanese Entertainment
I don't think you'll be disappointed. it's the latter part of the series that really made it the number 1 series for me. don't get me wrong, the whole lot of it is great. I especially love the part where he is in the office and gets too hot. that was so funny it had me in creases. and then the part where he is on the desk and falls and does gymnastics. replete with scorecards and everything! the characters are all just so interesting. real good character development all round. one character you thought was one way, in the end sort of remains that way, but kind of shows them self in a different light. I would really love to see your reaction to this series once completed. I like your commentary on some series but this one will be really rewarding for me. I have watched it through twice and will really enjoy the chance to relive it again through your words. -
technically.... we could produce these ourselves. of course we have no license so we can't sell them. but I thought it might be a nice extra thank you to people who pre-order their guyver books with us.

remember what happened when barcas merely gave the zoacrystal to waferdanos. it compressed his energy and allowed him to reduce his form. the zoacrystal has some amazing properties even with minimal to no processing. I don't know that it could just work with a human, but I suspect archanfel had minimal knowledge of science. he must have had know how of putting the zoacrystal in such a way that it would prolong life and give mental abilities. I do not think the ability to use advanced processing tubes came about very quickly. evidently, cronos was ahead of the rest of the world in this kind of science, but I doubt it would have been so far ahead so early on. I believe purgstall and shin would have had to have been processed in the 20th century.

just bringing in some factors here... what would the creators want to happen if one of them was piloting the ship through treacherous space and the remover was used on the pilot.

the rogues were surprised to see him so it is unlikely hey were involved with him before shinjuku. he could have felled into lava.. or he might have fallen on to the edge of the mountain. or might have taken long enough to fall down that he was caught in a concussive blast from the relic exploding... and been knocked clear of the mountain. or maybe his assistant got that flying car from relics point and managed to make it up a remote elevator and fly in the last minute. so many possibilities.

Youngguyver that is a very interesting comment there. I do get frustrated when I see an advert for a film on tv and then discover that I can't even watch it for another 3 weeks. in that amount if time I have completely lost interest in it. and you're absolutely right, if they release it in the cinema, release it for digital download at less than half the price and advertise it all on the same day, they would make a killing. seriously, if I wanted to see a film, I would pay £4 to download it on release day, rather than wait. I mean, the waiting options are, a terrible quality CAM release, a bad quality screener, waiting for TV, or paying over the odds for a DVD.

I won't read earlier parts of this thread in case of spoilers. I watched the first episode of this HBO series yesterday. first thing I will say is SEX. HBO certainly like to make their shows sexy. well I certainly appreciate a bit of nakedness, but sometimes it is a bit too distracting. but aside from that, I am finding it to be very fine quality. from the initial scene, I was struck by the beauty of the cinematography. the way the shots were set up were so beautiful it had me mesmerised. The zombie men were pretty creepy and the whole premise was more interesting than I had been led to believe. The relationships between the characters is very interesting too. damn, I wish they cut out the sexy parts though.. each time i see that dwarf character now I'm gonna be thinking "nom nom nom", it's so annoying! it is very gory too. people being killed and lots of bloody and nasty bits. it's not quite so brutal as berserk but it's getting there. I just hope they don't keep pushing on that theme. it's the reason I never watched braveheart and never will. I can't stand to see too much suffering.

whichever way you look at it, it took maybe a few hours or more for the arm to 'wake up'.

Ah... yes , let's see if I can be a bit more coherent today. so basically the long and the short of it is, I think that imakarum sees a need for archanphel to understand what human nature is. archanfel never had any social bonds,he was made as a general. he wasn't given a family and a society. he doesn't understand what shou stands for. so I believe that putting tetsuro and mizuki in the cabin with archanfel, may lead to some form of social bonding. archanfel must be feeling very hurt by his 'parents' leaving him behind. he must be very hurt. perhaps by living with the segawas and perhaps bonding with them on some level will give him and understanding of humanity and perhaps change his approach.
