  2. Durendal, the value in super sentai for me is the unique stories and character development. this is unfortunately something that was very rare anyway. I enjoyed 2 series, hurricanger and abaranger, the rest are pretty lame. gobusters was interesting, but on retrospect, was not much better than some american kids shows. I wanted to watch super sentai and kamen rider in order to get the same sense I got from some episodes of hurricanger and abaranger. and kamen rider faiz and ryuki. The music was beautiful and atmospheric in hurricanger and really helped the show. plus, I wanted to share with my brother. I can't speak for anyone else so I don't know why others continue to watch. I don't even watch any other japanese shows these days. I find more reward in re-watching star trek the next generation. and I'll watch that game of thrones after that I reckon.
  3. thanks for the review. I'm glad I have stopped watching tokusatsu.
  4. this whole idea of copyright law is a mess right now. intellectual property was made to allow corporations to profit from restrictions of freedom. if intellectual property was intended to be of benefit to the individual, we wouldn't have these issues. taking something that somebody else made and creating a tribute to it, should not be such a hassle. presenting something to other people who would otherwise not be able to experience it, should not be such a hassle. the whole concept that a person can make money out of something that is by it's very nature intangible, is absurd. It's the broken nature of our economic systems that drives such concepts. How does an artist live otherwise? in ancient systems, the bard was valued as a keeper and teller of information. they were supported by the society and did not have to sell the rights to their performances to stay alive. as society moved on, they performed to gain alms and buy food. they were paid for the performance, but they did not own the music. a painter could not charge people money to simply look at his paintings. the commissioner paid the artist to do the work. these days, people are expected to pay just to experience art. it's a disgrace. The initial cost of producing such work, that is something to take into consideration... but what of the artists who cannot get paid for their work? they produce it and give it away for free. This supports the argument that the current system supports the corporations, not the individual. The behaviour of youtube, is merely a result of the current system. this system largely driven by US attitudes. the whole country is pretty much supported by this IP system. a very large portion of their revenue stream is brought in by the payments for the media they produce. if not for that, their coffers would start to dry up. it's sad that it has come to this, but it is the way it is. what to do about it? I doubt anyone would be very successful in changing a country from relying on that source of income that is so huge. they will become more aggressive pushing more ill conceived laws like SOPA in order to stop 'piracy'. (side note... is there a 'pirate party' in the USA?) youtube will of course have no option but to respond to the law makers in order to protect their interests. the things that will be taken down will of course reflect the people who more aggressively protect their IP. it seems unfortunate that some Japanese publishers are also very aggressive in that manner. is it any wonder that Japan also has a very large media industry and relies on that a fair bit?
  5. hmm, yeah the tv series was a bit screwy wasn't it? what Noskov and Myumelzee were doing was very sophisticated. one might surmise that guyver could produce a similar damping effect if he really tried to, but not only is it impractical, we've never seen it or any reference to him doing it. not to mention, a damping effect would in no way absorb sound, merely cancel it out with reverse wavelengths. and in no way does that create a shockwave blast. what guyver did in that episode was more than likely overloading N and M's senses so that they were unable to block out ambient sounds because it was too much to handle. so I'm still really confused as to where #13 was conjured from. of course this all declines to consider the existence of light and guyver's eyes. also guyvers hyper sense that detect electromagnetic fields etc.
  6. it's pretty obvious... the gigantic was created specifically to defeat Archanfel. so the gigantic would defeat Archanfel provided Shou was properly focused.
  7. that's a lot better but it still needs a bit more. basically, guyver 1 could easily headbutt him in the nads.
  8. yeah, I think what happened is that the horns threw me off. when the guyver measurement was shown, it stated that it was his height minus his horn. I assumed that the same was true of guyot's measurement, but when viewing the tv series, I think this was wrong. well I did make the height chart before the tv series. anyway, if you look at the top of guyots head minus the horn. that is the measurement given in the manga. it's possible and quite likely that the top of his horns should come to where I put the top of his head. this is sort of corrected.
  9. good work Odin. btw, you should check out the height chart I did ages ago. Cannibal saved it to his site - http://guyver-world.ru/guyver-wallpapers-3.html I probably exaggerated guyot a bit, but we need to remember how big he is. he is a freaking monster.
  10. thanks cannibal! hmm, it seems like all my colour schemes were wrong! we just can't guess what Takaya san will do!!

    !!!

Hi, welcome to the forum. one request. can you rename your topic please? it's not really appropriate. (edit your post, choose to use full editor, the title box will be at the top. )
  12. it's surely a simple game of trumps, that much seems clear from the stats written on the cards.
  13. good theories here. it is true that we have seen some characters apparently dead but came back. guyot did it. anyhow, I always did think there was something suspect about that truck driver. I really think you're onto something. I mean the look in the corner of his eye suggested something and I was never quite sure what. it's possible that we may finally have an answer. it was a little bit convenient that he picked up the test type just at the exact moment we joined the story. coincidence maybe? or was it on purpose! yes I think it was a little bit too convenient that this truck driver met up with malmot just exactly as we started reading guyver. he was there at the beginning. and he definitely paid way too much attention to malmot's bag. it's almost as if he knew something. it could have been sports apparel, but he knew more than he was letting on.
  14. I think it's worth checking the script writer. from the first season there were two guys involved along with others. Russel T Davies was the guy who kicked it off and a few notable scripts written by steven moffat. now steven moffat is the main guy behind it. now, steven moffat was regarded as writing the best stories of the doctor who series altogether. he wrote ... 'somthing over london'.. can't remember what that was called. the one where jack harkness appeared for the first time. oh was that one called 'the doctor dances'? steven moffat introduced the weeping angels which are now regarded as some of the top doctor who bad guys. he also introduced some very interesting characters and some very intriguing mysteries. In my personal opinion, the episodes before matt smith were a bit too campy, I think it's all down to R.T.D. I didn't like them in general. watching the finale of david tennants time, I found it to be very hammy and OTT. a bit too much like pantomime. but it's worth watching for the history. there are episodes that steven moffat wrote, where he sets up future events. can't miss that really.
  15. I found an old video of one of the episodes of Sylvester McCoy. in all honestly, I found it to be quite atrocious. but this is just me and my aversion to old TV i suppose. I just thought they took too long to do anything worthwhile. but then again, I guess I wasn't around for the older series. I was born in '80 so I wasn't old enough to be interested. Guyverfan you must be older than me then I guess. I caught repeats of some of the episodes so I got a general idea of them though. and my brother had a technical manual that was awesome. it had pictures of k9 and all the original cybermen and cybermats and sonic screwdriver and tardis etc. i think it was published around '85.
  16. no my point was that john pertwee was boring because all his episodes were on earth. and he didn't even time travel.
  17. John Pertwee!!
  18. american movie? whosaidwhattowhonow? I'm always so glad when people all over the world love Doctor Who because it is filmed in Wales I do have a great love for the series of course. I used to watch it when I was a kid. I remember doing my paper round and rushing back home to see it. I vividly remember Sylvester McCoy fighting some thing in some weird alien hotel resort. I also remember how sad I was when they originally cancelled it. anyway, yes I also love that episode where they bring the Dalek back. That moment when Rose touched it... that was incredible. I love Matt Smith. I will be sad to see him go.
  19. Maybe we could get Mark Hammill to come on board?
  20. yes, they are upside down. can you see these characters - 並列寸法 that is what it should look like. but to be honest, for the meaning you are after, I think this may be more appropriate - 平行世界
  21. what about new franchises? Avatar was pretty successful I think. There are a few things that have been marketed well and not necessarily popular before hand. hancock, oblivion, elysium, the matrix etc. I think the guyver is a strong concept and I think that is what is important. The fact it has so many different media is testament to that. What is needed is a strong script and contacts. these are things that David Hayter should have in abundance.
  22. I honestly think Mr Hayter wants to keep a distance from this website because of what we do. Although we ensure that people buy Guyver, it is still a grey area so I think he wants to keep from associating with us. I have kinda spoken to him in the past but he's pretty busy anyway and the MGS fandom probably bug him way too much so maybe he doesn't have much time. Anyway, I sent him a tweet asking if this photo was recent. I'll check back regularly to see if he replies.
  23. hmm, yes the words do look similar. I see why you said that now [emote=monkey]z208[/emote]
  24. by that logic, how do we view purgstals colouring? his colour was nearly the same as guyver 1 and almost identical to aptom omega blast. also, bear in mind, that image is in the tube, it appears darker than it would normally be. and anyway, what do you mean it wouldn't be that red? based on what? the armenian flag? deep red at the top. armenian traditional dress (that I already based it on ) lots of deep red and deep blue. I'm just totally confused by your response.
