  1. she does seem like an insert. I don't think the overall story would have suffered if she were not introduced. that said, I think she is a jolly nice insert and does add some nice backstory too. we need to be careful here because I don't know how much you have caught up yet. so I won't give any details of her background yet. leave that for other guys and liberal use of the spoiler tag!
  2. don't know about healing springs... but the area where evangelion was based, that is quite near to there. that has hot springs and sulphur vents, so it's possible. one thing I do know is that there is a 'secret' bunker under the mount, constructed for the emperor in case of enemy attack.
  3. hi again yeah I'm currently playing through final fantasy 13. really enjoying it. gonna move onto to 13-2 and then lightning returns when that is released.
  4. So my friend Lycanthropebata went to the real mount minakami in nagano prefecture. I told you guys about his plan a while back, can't remember where. anyhow, he has been and he made a video about it.
  5. that's why I don't buy them. I buy fruit instead.
  6. nowadays there are dedicated online petition sites. change.org comes to mind immediately. if we want to refresh this, we could set up a petition on that type of site and more people can access it. it can also be more easily syndicated through facebook. I do want to consider though.... is it worth even keeping the petition going? do we really want some company like viz picking it up again, only to abandon it through lack of sales? The net result from something like that is that there would be a western publisher which would certainly make things more difficult for what guyver advocacy are doing? I would certainly love the whole series released in hard copy form, but even chuangyi gave up after so many books. when we were releasing the manga freely in english, it made sense, morally, to push for a western company to pick it up. but now we changed how we provide the translations, I feel that maybe it would be counter productive. that is just my perspective though. a petition represents public interest so it doesn't really matter what my view is, compared to the views of the majority of guyver fans.
  7. I don't generally eat unhealthy stuff... not because I'm a health freak, I just don't enjoy them. I don't really enjoy chocolate that much or 'candy' or biscuits or crisps. now and then if I go to the cafe, I may go for some cake, carrot cake my favourite, but I scrape the icing off. can't stand that stuff, way too sweet. If I ever do go for some crisp type thing, it's because it's a cold day and I need to stock up on carbs. I will go for a bag of tortilla chips. I like the cool flavour very much. sometimes I may go for a tub of doritos, sour cream and chive. I don't buy them as a habit because I know full well I will eat the lot and feel rotten afterwards. not worth it. on a weekly basis, I do enjoy buying some freshly baked granola bars. But I have to make sure I eat a bowl of bean salad or something before hand. make sure I keep balance in my diet so I don't end up feeling like crap.
  8. haven't watched kyoryuger in months so I'm afraid not I shall probably get caught up soon, though I am really enjoying star trek at the moment.
  9. the influence of NGE is quite evident and of course the reason is clear to many of us. wasn't this supposed to be a live action NGE to start off with? I really like what guillermo del toro has done with it. the trailers have blown me away and I wanna go and pay to watch this. especially since I discovered my local odeon does a club card.
  10. thank you so much vguyver. made my day.
  11. yeah I just used some images from the manga and spent an evening cleaning them and colouring them etc. I'm glad you like it, but it is in no way better than your work. it is different art and different colours. not meant to compete or be compared to yours, you are doing a good job! I'm sorry you feel like your bubble was burst, it's not my intention. I just wanted to share and inspire you
  12. great work on this so far dude you've done a great job cleaning it up, it seems like a really challenging image to work with. I didn't want to interfere with your work, but I did feel inspired to do an alternative version of this poster.
  13. oh! it turns out I found that clip yesterday when I was browsing for info about kryptonian strength. http://www.flickr.com/photos/xmoney/9170032951/
  14. ha ha ha durendal!! [emote=monkey]haha[/emote] So funny!! actually, durendal, I'm with you on this, I did just enjoy the movie and I didn't want to think too much about it. I just wanted to mention this evolution part because i had read it earlier before seeing the movie and I noticed it when I watched the movie. but it's no big deal. Youngguyver, I agree with most of what you're saying. I agree that morality makes humanity stronger as a species due to our ability to make the weaker ones stronger etc. also, our concept of strength has evolved to strength of character etc. the people who appear the most physically frail and mentally challenged, can often have such strength of character and other strengths that many of us don't. The point I was trying to make though, was that I felt you were berating the movie, but I don't think the movie ought to be berated, only the character.
  15. side note here... if humans did lack morality, we would become a stronger race. we don't kill the physically weak because we are moral. This in the long run results in a genetic pool that has variety but in it's general essence is weaker than it would have been. humans are intellectually and technologically superior to humans of the past, but physically, we are generally weaker. If we lacked morality and were therefore perhaps considered an evil race, we would kill the weak people and the disabled and the low intelligence people, and the race as a whole would become stronger. selective breeding would result in a very powerful race. I can't imagine anybody being able to advocate such a thing... well of courser somebody did around the 1940's, but I believe the concept is factually correct, if not something that could be considered truly evil.
  16. I wouldn't say it's incorrect. our current understanding of how our own evolution turned out, doesn't mesh with her assertion. that doesn't mean she's wrong or non-factual. it means she has a different concept of survival and strength etc. i mean, she is a born and bred soldier! It's clear Zod and his followers saw things that way. and anyway, they were not really focused on being social creatures. they were soldiers. and it seems very clear that krypton was made that way. being that they were the bad guys, representing kryptons way of doing things, the way of doing things that lead to the stagnation of their society and eventual collapse (literally!) ... kinda makes it clear that the assertion that morality is weak... in the films presentation of it, shows that it is wrong. but in general terms, she was citing her opinion and individual perspective.
  17. I really enjoyed it. such a wonderful movie, I got drawn into the universe and it was great. I love the designs on their kryptonian clothing. so beautiful. the way the story was presented was wonderful for me. I really liked how it was broken up into sections. it was refreshing and gave me chance to rest and regroup and worked well, the latter part of the movie was very overwhelming. I liked it but I wonder if the movie could have been better if all the action weren't bunched right up toward the end. I also thought quite a lot about the massive damage and probably hundreds of deaths that went on in the city. I do want to mention the evolution thing that has been mentioned in this thread. I noticed that when the line came up. I took note of it and listened to the scene and considered the context. The woman was saying that evolution would favour them because she believed his morality was a weakness. there was no apparent suggestion that evolution doesn't have morality. She was making comment on survival of the fittest.
  18. haven't watched any of it since episode 6 or so. really have no motivation to watch. it didn't seem to have any redeeming qualities. seems you think the same thing even now. recently I find little value in any japanese tv. except akibaranger of course. thanks for the update anyhow
  19. ha ha well not literal of course
  20. friend gave me this. heard about it. one of those things.. people masturbate over it and it just really puts me off. but since it was recommended by a friend whom I trust, I am willing to give it a chance. so I'll polish off the star trek season I'm currently watching and perhaps watch this first season of this.
  21. seems to suit the name. his shoulders and head look a little big. I should stop commenting on these designs. it seems a given that I'm gonna hate each new design at this stage. to be fair though.... his thighs look interesting. it looks like a spiky sort of chainmail.
  22. yeah the samsung galaxy does seem like the best on the market these days. When my contract is up, I plan to upgrade to a samsung galaxy too. I definitely made the wrong choice when I started this contract. I even had the choice between this phone and the galaxy.
  23. topic starter should be able to change the topic title. i'll change it for you.
  24. I believe these are the only phones I have owned, but my memory is hazy before 2005. I am thinking I had another phone before the motorolla, , might have been 1997, and might not have switched to motorolla until 2000 or whenever. I really can't recall very easily. though I do have a faint recollection of a vodafone branded phone which was probably manufactured by somebody else. I remember it was blue and that's about it. 1998 - 2002 Motorola V3690 2002 - 2006 nokia 3200 2006 - 2009 sony ericcson s700i 2009 - 2012 nokia e63 2012 - 2013 iphone 4 I never really used a mobile phone as i never had a crazy social life or needed it for work or anything. only when I got my iphone 4 and decided to take out a contract, I started using it so much more.
  25. seems to me that when he put some of his chakra in the cursed seal, he put the same essence of himself that he would normally put in when he steals a body. although he put it in a way that would not result in a full take-over. when they added Kabuto's flesh to the cursed seal, it provided a 'body' for orochimaru, but of course the amount of material was so small, orochimaru is 'stretched', and therefore why he said he is not powerful enough yet. I think if he was anything like a ghost, I would say more like a vampire.
