  1. ah yes there it is. Are you sure it was a long time when you were last here? I am sure you were here more recently...
  2. hi damoe, maybe you can refresh people's memory with that nify avatar you had. was it some wierd guy with a blue face or was it blue glasses or something? cartoony with a pointy nose.
  3. Chernaudi... what is an HSQ?
  4. I do need to point out that Valkyria is western and so will look different. usually are drawn with more prominent chin and nose. asian females tend to look younger naturally anyhow due to their smooth jawline and complexion. it would be easy for val to look older yet be younger simply due to hte art style. but that is most certainly down to personal opinion. I only say so to keep the possibility open for us to ponder about
  5. it's more than 2 years. there are months between different events, this ius suggested quite strongly at a few different occasions. it would be nice to catalog that though. try and gain a rough idea. I would personally guess that it has been 3-4 years. if lisker was in his 30s, he could have a daughter around age 14, who would now be a young adult I am sure. Valkyria is... i don't know she is young that is certain, she is an adult that is certain, but specifics such as in her late 20s? I don't know if you can say that. remember agito was groomed to be an official at age 18 and this was by genzo makishima who was a MUCH lower rank that lisker.
  6. I think that is a DVD, and I think it is guyver. oh, something you don't already know.... it's not Japanese. I'm pretty sure of that. That hologram sticker looks familiar. It's an asian country. not sure which one... I'm sure it's not Japan, Korea, China. Tempted to say Burma or something like that.
  7. ha ha, I just wondered what wuld happen if we spelled ヴァルキュリア(valkyria) backwards ... アリュキルァヴ aryukiravu ( a ryuki love) but actually I think it would be more like this - アリキュルヴァ arikyuruva
  8. I recall suggesting that but somebody else could have said it also. it would be a bit of a funny turn if we had a gender bender in guyver. higher chance that she is his sister though. If she was his gilfriend, she would have probably travelled to japan with him. or... even better. she could be his daughter. he was surely in his 30's wasn't he? my name is valkyria lisker, you killed my father, prepare to die!
  9. hey, I spoke to Super existence about this. he wrote this to me:- so, it appears your are right YoungGuyver
  10. perhaps the complete collection is the only release by them? has it been checked?
  11. that's pretty much the whole point. please read - http://www.japan-legend.com/wiki/index.php?title=Guyver_Advocacy
  12. hey, I never said the mass doesn't somehow cause the twisting as we have already seen, there is a relationship between mass and acceleration. that's kinda what got me thinking in this area. quick note... I don't completely subscribe to the current ideas and theories, string theory etc. there are contenders, and they are too wishy washy for my liking. also, I did spot something recently on the news that suggested the universe is older than the scientists thought!!! Shock horror!! .... not. I wasn't the least bit surprised. I already refuted their conclusions. don't get me wrong, these are some great ideas by some very intelligent people. I just don't put quite nearly so much stock in them as it seems other people do. anyway, you asked a good question and I have already thought of this before now. see, we could ask the question about the earth's crust. how does the earth's crust keep getting pulled along by the faults and why doesn't it snap? well it is not a simple surface. it has folds and wrinkles and it also has areas where more of it is produced. I see no reason to believe that the fabric of space is something that cannot be reproduced from somewhere. after all, if mass can draw it inwards, then there could easily be something else that pumps it out. there are already hypothetical things like dark matter etc. what about anti matter? if mass causes gravity, then perhaps anti-mass causes anti-gravity? who knows? I guess in this manner, I'm taking the rubber mat analogy and replacing it with the surface of water. which... is surprisingly apt... interestingly enough, and maybe unrelated... I always assocaited 'ether' with water.
  13. adobe premier is slow and eats memory and means i have to restart my computer. so sue me...[emote=monkey]nyaa[/emote] I feel like you're misinterpreting what I said. a rubber mat model is static. the rubber mat stays stretched in the same places. I'm talking about the surface of space being actually moved and stretched over time. not become stretched and stay the same. being stretched. verb, present continuous. in hte model that is generally presented to lay people the surface of the rubber mat was stretched by the objects upon it. first of all, the concept requires an extra dimensional gravity source, so it is paradoxical. you can't explain gravity with 'gravity plus one'. what I am explaining is a mechanism. if you want to explain a rubber mat, fine, but instead imagine the following. you stretch the rubber mat onto four pegs so it is fixed. stick a fork in it. twist the fork. keep twisting. that is my concept.
  14. it would be appropriate to read the first post in this topic before asking questions.
  15. looking at this poll, it would certainly be feasible to create an order for volume 29.... I'll check availability.
  16. no, we saw him at the grave site of his comrades and also new site for yohei and the others.
  17. well google translate is actually an adaptive translation engine. a lot of the translations it gives are reliant upon people correcting it when it gets something wrong. so a lot of phrases that it provides can be quite good. on many occasions, when I have trouble with a particular expression, I throw it through Google translate to give me a boost and possible figure out some context. sometimes it works, sometimes i get garbage.
  18. I often wondered why barcas considered her a worse threat than Guyver III. I suppose he said that because Agito was a member of Cronos for a while, but was not even close to inspector level. Valkyria was an inspector and evidently had access to some of the more restricted areas of Cronos and no doubt access to information of that level of restriction. But anyhow it was clear that Cronos knew who she was by the time she reached Narita airport.
  19. Guyverfanatic, check your PM folder. we don't post them on the website any more. I recommend using cdisplay . unless you want to view old chapters? then the link is on the bottom left.
  20. to be fair, no. that would be a lazy guess when looking a the kanji separately. comparing to similar kanji combinations we would see that either kanji is often used alongside other kanji and compliment each other in a particular way. kyou often used as a prefix to describe something being done in a strengthened manner. a note here, authors can often be lazy or make mistakes when their field of expertise is not translating. example, in an article I have in a magazine, archanfel is introduced as 'aruka sulfur'. you could say I'm a little excessive in my investigations. durendal is better at translating things in context and colloquial terms etc. but when it comes to accuracy, I don't take things lightly, I study, and I study hard.
  21. I honestly don't know where it came from. I don't know who's responsible for it. it's possible yoshiki takaya is responsible for the english name and could have given the name during some talks with one of the earliest english publishers. or it's possible it was derived from some common used like: ç¹æ®– hanshoku - breed/multiply 生殖 seishoku - reproduce (biological term) but we should also note non biological terms such as : 貨殖 kashoku - money making 学殖 gakushoku - scholarship plus, bio-boost is fairly accurate in terms of it's descriptiveness.
  22. Nice find!
  23. not quite. actually, there is no reference to 'bio' in the japanese phrase. "boost armoured" is probably the most closely fit translation. kyou - strongly shoku - augment soukou - armoured (strongly augment = boost. )
  24. how does this look... when a person buys a book, they have full privileges to read that book. they can commit it to memory if they like and recall that book any time they wish. then after reading it they can sell it as second-hand. or they can gift it to another person. then that other person can read it. so as BBdude suggested, there is nothing wrong with re-selling a book. now, What Lindsay said is also important. sending these books to another person to do what they like with it, this is not reliable. if that other person sells the books that person makes a personal profit and that is perhaps not desirable by members of this site. even if that person is a member and a guyver fan. honestly, he's a really nice guy, really generous and friendly. but that's neither here nor there. also, it is ropey on ethical terms. the book never makes it to hte translator or to the person who bought it. in terms of ethics, I am thinking the following diagrams might help. lower cost 1 book bought -> book arrives at other persons house -> Book enters Japanese second-hand market -> 2 book bought -> book sent to recycling plant -> medium cost 3 book bought -> book sent to translator -> translation sent to you -> book becomes second-hand goods -> funding/prize for japan-legend and/or a potential new guyver fan -> higher cost 4 book bought -> book sent to translator -> book and translation sent to you -> book remains with you or later becomes second-hand goods -> what do you think are the resultant effects on sales of guyver manga in general and what do you think are the ethical concerns? I am thinking that the books entering the Japanese second-hand market and entering the western second-hand market would have different impact on the sales of the new copies of the book.
  25. how about this:- I'm wondering if the people who say "I won't pay for something I can't read" would like another option. how about we ask a payment of £13.50 for the scanlations we produce and then as a bonus, we send you a free Japanese Guyver Manga that you can do whatever you want with. now this is interesting. I really want to see how people respond to that concept. is it really about the 'principle', or is actually about the money.
