Guest Jupiter Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I have read that this movie is going to be taking place some time next year. Its supposed to be widely based on Terminator :The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Here are the actors for the character roles. Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator[1] Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor[2] Jason Clarke as John Connor[3] Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese[3] Dayo Okeniyi as Danny Dyson[4] Matt Smith[5] Lee Byung-hun[6] J. K. Simmons[7] Sandrine Holt[8] Michael Gladis Terminator 5: Genesis is more based on a paradox method. Because of T-2, T-3, and TSCC, many things have changed because of the events in the films and th series. John has changed the past as well as his future. To change the future, you have to change the past. Its good to know Sarah Connor will be back in the movies. She had a key role in TSCC. Since Cameron/ T0K-715 warned her that she would get cancer, creating a paradox and altering the timeline, it is mainly the reason why she is alive in the 5th film is what I'm guessing. The story and plot is that Skynet will send back an army of Terminators and Hunter Kill Units through the Time Displacement Equipment and complete and guarantee its presence and existence in our present time. What ever time that the story is placed in. Like in the series. Sarah Connor hasn't died from cancer. The events that happened in T-2 and T-3 has changed due to paradox. Perhaps she got her cancer from completing a task to stop Skynet in that time, however due to the events of T-3 and T-4 which resulted in the events of TSCC. Supposedly Skynet's goal is to kill of John Connor and anyone else who opposes it and destroy the human race. T-5 really ties in with TSCC, at the end of TSCC, John Connor is sent into the future and will be referenced in this film. It is planned that Terminator 5: Genesis will be a new Terminator trilogy, taking the story in many new directions. The release date is scheduled for July 1st, 2015. I cant wait. Two of my favorite actors are in. Arnold Schwarzenegger from the first 3, and Jai Courtney from Spartacus: Blood and Sand...and Divergent. I have been a huge fan and follower of the series. So, I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival in theaters. 1 Quote
*Jess♥ Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 to be honest I'm not a fan of copy/paste. can you give us your own take on it? what do you think it will be like, and do you think it'll do well? Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 to be honest I'm not a fan of copy/paste. can you give us your own take on it? what do you think it will be like, and do you think it'll do well? I'm sorry, Yuki, I was only using copy/paste to post links to show my sources. Is that okay? I just wanted people to see my findings. To be honest with you. My take is that they haven't given me enough information to go off of so I can only speculate from having watched the films and the tv series from 2008-2010. What I do know is that Skynet sends a small army through time in an attempt to kill John Connor again. Thats just the short version. Skynet has been trying to off John Connor since the first film. Since I have read that it has a lot to do with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and the Time Displacement Equipment and how it sends things through time. In the series. John sent back engineers to build Time Field Equipment so they can navigate from time line to time line. Skynet sent back T-888 models to hunt down and kill off John's rebellion members in present time, since thats what they were built for. The time line continues to change and alter having little to do with previous films because of the general time paradox. To be as clear on the subject as I can. T-5 is a result of the changes done after the first 3 films. Just going over what I already know...TSCC was trying to show the aftermath of the first 3 movies. Time was resetting itself from what the things that the characters said and did from when the T-800 was sent back through time to protect young John Connor from being killed. Cameron/T0K-715 had changed by telling Sarah that she would die from cancer. How Sarah gets cancer changes because she lives past the time she was supposed to die as a result of having been given the information that she knew little about. Kyle Reese had told her that she was to die before the war, but he didn't tell her why because he feared that it would create a paradox that might effect or keep John from being born. So, since Sarah is up to par on things to come. This might explain why she is in T-5 as a paradox based character. She's not dead, because she was very aware of how she would die and as result she is still alive. Her time changed, mainly because of Cameron/T0K-715. However, since Cameron is a tv character from the series and didn't make an appearance until the show started. Her involvement with Sarah may not be mentioned at all. Instead, they're bringing back Kyle Reese from the first film, whose been dead since the first movie...which sounds like a major paradox to me. I don't know if this Kyle Reese is coming from an alternate time line, I have no idea how his character is coming back or how they are working that into the story. What I am sure of, is that Skynet sends back a death squad of Terminators, and a new model in T-5 to kill John. Which is the main plot in almost every Terminator movie and was even Skynet's goal in the series to have him terminated. Skynet sent several death squads of terminators back through time in TSCC to kill John and thats what I have read on in T-5. Thats my take on it. I wish I had more to go on. Just so little information that was given. But I will be looking into it from time to time. The movie has been in production for some time. If anyone knows anything more. I hope they will share their findings with me. Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 My favorite terminator is Cameron Phillips / Prototype Model no. T0K-715 Cyberdyne Systems T-888 Model- Custom Infiltration Prototype No. T0K-715. Skynet Alias Allison Young; Resistance Alias Cameron Phillips. Captured and reprogrammed by Future John Connor in the year 2024, sent back to the year 1999 to protect present John. Prototype Serial Number: T0K-715 stands for (Template Of Kill: Matthew 7:15 - “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.") More info here on Cameron Philips http://terminator.wikia.com/wiki/TOK715 Cameron Phillips/ T0k-715 is played by actress Summer Glau. Terminator- The Sarah Connor Chronicles Too bad Summer Glau isn't having a role in T-5. Oh well. Maybe they will make Arnold look younger. Quote
Bio-Boosted Dude Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Sigh, I don't have a whole lot of faith in this. I wish they would just lay it to rest. T3 was already bad, but at least SCC made up for it by replacing it in the timeline and being a pretty good series. I will always consider the SCC storyline as the direction the timeline took. I never watched Salvation (and never plan to) because apparently it was awful and I really don't want to see the franchise tarnished. I can't find any sources on what the plot will be about but Simmons is saying it's a "re-imagining"? Whatever that means. Maybe seeing Arnie in action as a Terminator again will make it worth watching, but I really feel like the first two films were so perfect it's a shame where the series has gone. I'd rather they just renewed SCC for a third season because that was a brutal ending to leave the watchers with. Quote
Aether Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 well this sounds interesting... yeah the first 2 movies are classics and I loved the Sarah Connor Chronicles, such a shame it had to end...I would love to see it renewed but as it stands it did bridge its timeline to T4 I suppose.. we were lucky Fox let it run and be finished because I remember it was fighting being cancelled anyway. I did see T4 and I cant remember it well but I can remember thinking WTF because one it was Batman and two it just seemed as if John Connor had not only become a badass whoch you would excpect but he'd gone into the league of ridiculously unbelieveable badass with some of the stunts he pulled off. anyway I welcome a rehash of everything just for fun... I guess Arnie will be digitized or something if not I cant see how he'll fit in very well, I mean come on he's looking old - what are they gonna do send him to be Johns Grandad?? Quote
Shin Mefilas Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Sounds intresting enough, I'll be looking out for this along with Jurassic World and Promethus 2 Quote

Sounds intresting enough, I'll be looking out for this along with Jurassic World and Promethus 2 i'm hanging out for prom2, thats for sure. Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 It'd be cool if they upgraded Arnold's Terminator model from a T-850 (T-3) to a T-900/T-950.The T-900 is faster, and has more armor. It has armored platings protecting the power cells from plasma attacks making it more deadly than a T-800/T850 series. The only major difference is that the T-900/T-950 CPU is only programmed to stay on READ ONLY and cannot be reset. This allows Skynet to have more control in what they do. The T-800 and T-850 do not have this problem. They have the ability to turn their switch off. The T-888 do not have READ ONLY enabled. They run on completely different software that does not have that feature. The new software was designed by Skynet to make it harder for John to have a T-888 reprogrammed if captured. However unlike the T-800/T-850 models which is easier to reset and modify their programming. They have to completely scrub the memory and program over it because they cannot delete Skynet's primary commands from the chip. This is why Cameron reverted back to her primary mission after being blown up in the jeep. It caused her chip to glitch and revert back to its original default programming by Skynet and she attempted to kill John. The T-888 is the only model that runs on 3 multiple chips in the skull, these chips have the back up software of their original programming and cannot be removed. This is why John's rebellion has to program over the chip to keep the other 2 chips from reinstalling the original programming. Sometimes the memory scrub doesn't work and their old programming restarts. Later Skynet makes it where the T-888 chips crumble when exposed to oxygen after being removed from the skull. The T-888 are designed to learn and still follow orders and are far smarter than their previous model numbers as well as the T-900 series. Here's more on the T-900 if any of you are interested.http://terminator.wikia.com/wiki/Series_900 The T-700 rubber skin series ( was first seen in Terminator Salvation) had to be constantly in contact with Skynet's frequency to operate. The T-800 was the first model to run on a nuclear power fuel cell and a chip CPU. The prototype model that was first introduced to the T-800 was the T-RIP. The T-850 and T-888 both run on dual Hydrogen Fuel Cells. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I'd be happy if they would have asked Summer Glau to reprise her role as a Terminator again. She is in her early 30's and did a great job playing her part as Cameron/T0K-715. But oh well. At least we're getting a new terminator movie. Quote
*V Guyver Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 the guy is iconic. but i can't see him in the role anymore, especially after T3 Quote
Super Existence Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Seems to me the only thing they got right is Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, the rest of this looks like ass. Quote

Well there is some intresting stuff here but just because there's cool looking stuff in the movie doent mean its gonna be good. Unlike Jurassic World I have rather mixed feelings about this film. durendal Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 So..... it looks like a terminator does age with time. Quote
RazorLaser Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Living tissue over metal endo-skeleton. Of course it does. T2 is my favourite film of all time... and I'm excited for this one. Quote
Cannibal Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Hmm I like the trailer better than the third movie. About fourth movie - I remember I liked it, but don't remember it's contents 1 Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Maybe I might rent this, but I don't think it looks promising enough to see in the theater. I like how you actually see the time-displacement equipment, though. It's nice to actually have a mental image of the stuff to work. Quote
¬./Anonymous¬ Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 die meisten Fortsetzungen sind eine echte Scheiße Idee. Quote

H222G981 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 My old thread from....ages long ago. Yay! Really looking forward to seeing this come out. I wouldn't doubt it as busy I've been that I'll miss it while its in theaters, as my luck always goes. Quote
*guyverfan Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 i know someone said there's alittle twist in this, but john a terminator!?..........mmmmmm, maybe, maybe something else? 1 Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Ugh.. Yeah. I have 2 problems with the trailer. 1. Spoiling that big plot twist. That would have been a decent "WTF!?!" moment in the theater. 2. The plot twist itself: Dumb. It seems that a leaked script from a few months ago is largely accurate... Which lowers my want to see this movie by a large margin. The first trailer was pretty much perfect. It looked good. Good enough for me to want to see it in theaters. Now it just looks blah. Quote

I was about to watch the trailer but then I read your post and thought better of it. I already spoiled on of my big movies this year I'm not doing it twice. Even if the movie isent all that good I'll still see it. I found stuff to enjoy in 3 and 4, I will most likely will in this one too. But my expectations are now tempered somewhat. Quote
