Woo... 14 pages of Lisker family squabbles.

Sorry, i can't get excited about this. Not when i think of the major current events like Mizuki and Tetsuro meeting a sleeping alky.

Or the details of Sho's and Agito's truce. Or even the Zoalord meeting to discuss the Guyvers proposition..

When faced with all these things, seeing how Lisker and Val meet don't seem to be all that important.

Just me.

Understandable, but I'm glad Valkyria is getting a decent motive to maybe avenge Guyver 2, we just have to see if she wants to kill Sho or stop Chronos.

Thank you very much!

Heavy on text. Hard to tell what is going on exactly, although it seems neither of the Risker men expected her to join up...

How can you translate from Japanese to english the scans?

We have awesome people who do that and make the translations available to those who actually buy the comic (You can pre-order them here).

another good background story, translation will be interesting, they look surprised to see val walking through what looks like a formal inauguration for new upper level employees. obviously she's joined and trained for cronos in total secret without oswalds and her step father's knowledge.

I would agree... With Takaya's work ethic, and how much work he does by himself... The more he goes in depth, the longer we wait for any kind of progression.

If this was a weekly series, the last two chapters would totally make sense, and would be very welcomed.

But in a monthly series, that only gets 14-16 pages a month? ( most monthly series tend to go around 24-30 pages if I recall) It's really becoming more and more frustrating to be a fan of the series.

I almost feel like I need to take another year or two break from the series ( which I won't of course) to come back with a fresh mind, and a bunch of new chapters to excite me all at once again.

Then again, give me a week and I'll probably care more. Initial reactions are never the best reactions to judge some things by...

Well, all I can say is welcome to Takaya-san's expressions of regrets for killing off Oswald Lisker/original Guyver II so early in the manga. The biggest thing that he seems to personally feel that he let himself down on was the fact that Oswald didn't even get much of a backstory. We only got enough to know that he's cocky, contemptuous of some of Chronos' management (the only people who probably hated Genzo Makishima more were Agito, Shizu and Yohei, and of course Richard Guyot), and enjoyed the power and authority his position at Chronos gave him.

I do see Yoshiki bringing Val in does two things: it's an homage to Guyver: Out of Control, which is no where near as popular as the 12 episode OVA and the TV series, and it does give him the opportunity to give Lisker some (much belated) backstory by having Val essentially being his lil' sister, adopted, half, or otherwise.

Only issue with how Mr. Takaya does things, though, is that the whole period that Bio-Booster Armor Guyver has been in publication (1985-present), it's been in a monthly Shonen Manga mag (Shonen Captian or Shonen Ace primarily), and only one compilation volume gets released a year (up to two a year in early years of Guyver), and only about 5-6 full chapters get released in a year, and with only about an average of 15 pages a month getting released (it used to be 30 a month in early days), between those factors, telling the story does become agonizingly slow. It's great that so much detail gets shoe horned into the story, but having new material released once a month on average does make things move pretty slow to the point where, as Matt suggested, it may be just as well to take a few months off and hope that a couple of full chapters have built up. Of course, this is unlikely because most fans of Guyver are pretty die hard and will always wait for the next portion of the story to come out and discuss it ;)

Speaking of which, it'll be interesting how high Val got up the ladder at Chronos, and if she even out-ranked Oswald. Oswald and her stepfather, as pointed out, def. seemed pretty damned surprised that she got as far as she did as quickly as she did. Of course, she obviously still was greatly bothered by her brother's death, but, as asked earlier, who will she try and take her wrath out on: Sho, or Chronos, or both? She teamed with Guyot when he attacked the mansion that Sho and his friends were staying at. But did Val want to fight Sho and/or Agito (if she felt up to fighting the latter), or is she using her association with Guyot as a means to an end against either Sho or Chronos?

I'll say this from what I can see so far,

1. valkirya sho wants to kill,

2 val wants to destroy cronos

3.ella seeks not only to avenge his brother against his murderer

also against the organization that started the problem

    ended up killing his brother

4 for valkirya there is no end in which I think she wins

waiting to die after serving his mission

and with respect to the slowness of the manga, I think it is justified and in fact I'm glad that you take the time to have such quality in the drawing rather than a boring generic precentar sloppy and cliche,

thing you see in weekly sleeves as naruto, bleach, fairy tale, but among others,

I know it's maddening slowness if at least 2 chapters per month were less exasperating serious but I think the fact that I either monthly not only justified by the quality of drawing but if it becomes a weekly, some readers might bore new, and old alike.

do not misunderstand me I want more chapters but as the saying goes. all good in moderation

Actually, I agree with you Alky. It's a bit irate to have a slow plot, maybe the timing is off, but it's awesome to finally have something relevant to a new character. We'd all be very happy once we got the same detailed reveal about why Guyot is alive, and who our dear Appoly. Still, the timing couldn't be worse when the Segawa's popped up to see Alky.

very revealling chapter, i wonder if takaya sensei will show at what earthly human lengths she went through to acheive her position or leave it to our imagination! definately shows how strong willed and determined she really is, i can honestly see this story going over to the darkside and finally the death of sho, the demise of the resistance and chronos acheiving their goals and final destiny. a fabulous dramatic end in true japanese fashion instead of the typical happy ending.

its a nice thought but its anyone's guess, she can do a complete turn around as aptom has and actually fight side by side with sho against chronos............. :bringit: whats going to happen!......whats going to happen!LOL.

many thanks to cannibal and all the silent workers for this chapters translation.

Hmm, so it's

her pride at stake here

. It's nice to see Takaya-sensei wrote a motivation like that for a female character. Now if only Mizuki became more useful......beside the....you know. :flirt:

those who were waiting.... this chapter has been translated, so if you want to read it, now is the time to pre-order.

Do I have to pre-order, too?

I don't think it's fair for me to talk about who pre-orders.

generally, people need to pre-order if they want to read it.

exceptions are only in cases such as those who actually work on the scanlation and those who have shown remarkable consistency in buying the manga every single time it is released.

if you think something is amiss, or unfair, please talk to me via PM.
