February 24Feb 24 Okay, something's gotta be happening with the franchise if they're doing something like this.
February 25Feb 25 Either that or they are just milking the franchise off of desperate fans like us looking for more. More merchandise does not necessarily mean more new material. If the story will continue, they will make a big announcement of it. This is more likely a strategy to sate fans appetite over the vacuum the manga left, and keep the brand alive. They are skating on thin ice relying on nostalgia to drive sales. The fans are getting older and it will dry out eventually if no new materials gets released to hook on newer, younger fans.

The sad truth is that we are now all older and should have a lot more disposable income compared to decades ago, so should there be new interesting products we want, we can easily afford them. Unlike before where they market to younger demographics, they need critical mass to be profitable. Now, they can just issue limited edition merchandise and we all be like "shut up and take my money" 😄
March 13Mar 13 Max Watanabe posted a couple images from the exhibit early as they are setting up still. Most importantly, the 1/6th Guyver 3 returns! Shame it isn't in color... But at least it's still being shown!
March 14Mar 14 The exhibition is on and we already got a full gallery of the figures and displays. Apparently they did not allow photos of the original artwork display. Go here for the full gallery: https://hobby.dengeki.com/event/2943620/
March 14Mar 14 Looks like the exhibit was really well made, lots of cool stuff. Must have a lot of fans at Kadokawa who still love it to put up an event like this.
March 16Mar 16 The Gale Hound Guyvers 1 & 3 as well as the Stato Hound Guyver 2F looks very interesting. Looks like these will be up for sale starting December 2026 and January 2027. No date listed for the Guyver 2F. This seems to be a collaboration with the Titanomachia series, which is very interesting to me. Huh, you learn something new everyday.
March 16Mar 16 Looks like there really was a crazy number of original illustrations on display - looks like basically everything that was in the Illustration Chronicle and, judging from some tweets, some shonen captain covers that have never been compiled anywhere and manuscript pages. Even though photography wasn't allowed you can see some of these walls in the background of other photos (links because attachments seem to be broken?) https://x.com/bounce_masa/status/2032836989205258421/photo/3 (this one you can see that some covers were drawn in two pieces - Bio freezer and Sho are isolated and displayed next to the backgrounds for volumes 21 and 22 - which i think i remember takaya talking about in the illustration book for several illustrations) https://x.com/judy_totoya/status/2033464858277249130 https://x.com/azuma_kazan/status/2033095881805988021 https://x.com/Akito_Nagumo/status/2033036847681778139 I'm fortunate enough to have a friend in Tokyo who was willing to go to the exhibition and pick up the Guyver Unit cushion for me. Very excited to receive and... hug it?
