  1. Here are some of the few misses: p11 Don't look back p13 I guess it found prey other than us p14 This is what the Pterosaur was eating? p15 I don't like this anymore p16 the shadow targeting the pair Are we going to have a fun scanlation for this chapter?

And here I thought we're done discussing this issue. Doing a scanlation may have its merits and pitfalls. Doing scanlation without the express consent of the author may be bordering plagiarism and can be considered as piracy. The saying "why pay for something when you can get it for free" may be true to most of the fans, but this might not be necessarily true for retailers. Retailers gauge the marketability of the potential product based on fan reaction. I would cite Naruto as an example. Before it was licensed, there were already scanlations and fansubs of the franchise. When it was officially licensed in English, it further increased the popularity of the franchise to the point of spawning the derogatory term "Narutards". The purpose why companies license a certain products is to make a profit. And if enough market for the fan base is present, then companies will be more open to licensing it. This gives the company opportunity not only in converting the literature into english, but put out enough related merchandise to make a profit. To me, anime or manga is not the primary source of profit for a license, but other related product licensing. The reason why Naruto is so profitable despite the rampant scanlation and fansubs is because the license holders have been releasing a number of products to increase the marketability of the franchise. They have Naruto costumes, bags, accessories, and other toys that fans can physically own. Even this community can attest, that despite having the free manga right in front of their screen, they still opt to buy the Japanese books. In other words, the literature is only an advertisement used to sell toys. I don't know why most of the western companies don't see this trend. Given the current situation, I don't think Guyver has enough merchandise to market to the public, which is probably the reason why it has not yet been picked up by any company out there. It may also be possible as to why Guyver has not yet reached critical mass in Japan is because Mr. Takaya has been very particular in taking care of his characters. He doesn't seem to want to let others handle his creations freely (as depicted in the interviews). You will notice that he is involved in all of the projects related to Guyver. So I guess you can say that it is Mr. Takaya himself that is preventing the license of the Guyver into english. If we want Guyver to be licensed in English, all the fans have to do their share and be loud with their adoration of the series. I'm afraid that most of the readers of Guyver are closet fans. Proof enough that there are literally hundreds of readers in this site and yet only a handful of them ever posts anything. Thus, equally making it difficult to get companies to notice this series.
  3. I have never heard any of the names you listed except for the last few names. So you could probably tell which wrestling company I follow. I've not seen any wrestling since the days of rivalry between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Probably even into the Mcmahon/Austin fued. I'm not even sure who's the face and who's the heel anymore. Last time I checked, John Cena was the crowd favorite. I've started watching this since the start of the Hulkamania days. Catchy song! I am a real American, Fight for the rights of every man, I am a real American, fight for what's right, fight for your life!
  4. As they say, bad publicity is still publicity. With this stunt they pulled, it put spiderman back into the press' radar. And because of the hype, or should I say, controversial issue, everyone started to pick up Amazing spidey 700. I would say that's a last ditch effort for a temporary solution in boosting up sales that actually worked. Proof that even Ryuki, who is usually not quite open diving into the middle of a story without knowing anything, read it.
  5. So, does this finally resolve the Yentsui spelling issue? Also, Kablarl is spelled Cabraal. I still feel that the name Kablarl sounds like a sound effect similar to "glug glug" or "Barf". As to the spoilers, I think that it is either ADV has plans to publish the manga in english or they are unitentionally pushing the fans to us. It's like them giving the forbiden fruit of spoilers to capture the interest of the viewers only to leave them wanting. So where else would the story hungry fans get the fix of guyver but the Advocacy?
  6. I thought this was in Japanese. I got the first file and it was already in english. Stupid me for not understanding.
  7. Well, they do have those side stories. The mother's rosario for example, would take the focus off kirito and into Asuna. And then there's the excaliber quest. These, together with GGO I think, would fill in nicely for another season. But you are right, people does seem to want to see more Kirito X Asuna. As I mentioned, it might not be possible to do GGO since Kirito already reset his character stats, which is an integral part of GGO. With his stats reset, he can no longer dodge bullets and he wouldn't have obtained the M9000.
  8. If I was doc ock, and knew that while there is a way to switch back bodies, I would certainly guard against it happening. So the carbonadium plating is just a normal precaution any sound minded person would take. You'd be an idiot not to protect against something that you did to somebody else. I no likey this spidey. They did the same thing to Cyclops back then when he was merged with Apocalypse. Now the way it looks to me like they merged Spidey with doc ock. I don't think we can expect any wise-cracking spidey with this superior spiderman. This story opens a lot of diverging paths. It might even be possible that spidey now has two consciousness in him, one that of doc ock, and the one of peter which he beamed back with the doc's device.
  9. I've read it as well out of curiosity. Was not impressed and frankly, was very disappointed. That's not how Peter thinks. Is it possible that all these years, it was the humor that was keeping spiderman alive? And they obviously made Doc Ock too smart. Fine, I can accept that given how the intellectual type Doc Ock is. But the way Peter "beamed" his memories to Doc Ock? That's just bull! Hell, the way Doc Ock had that carbonadium plating in his spine was pure genius, but the way it ended was just plain bull.
  10. That is actually one of my common gripes about watching kamen rider. The first few episodes are usually boring, which takes me a long time to watch, but then after a while, the plot thickens and it's all good, to the point that I can't stop watching. I've got Faiz in my PC, and started watching until episode 2. I started that about half a year ago and right now I'm still stuck at episode 3.
  11. Additionally, basing on what I've read throughout the years, it is best to avoid Hibiki. Though I've never seen it, a lot of fans says it sucks. Ratings wise, it was the lowest, and toy sales wise, the worst year for Bandai. Who am I to argue with majority of opinions and company statistics?
  12. I thought that the concept of Robot Jox was cool, but then I found the robots themselves to be really ugly. The robots in Pacific Rim seems to have this streamlined look. This doesn't look like a hyped up movie, and if this is indeed rated to be a B-movie, then all the more reason to watch it. there are certainly B-movies that are way much better than other A-list movies out there right now.
  13. Speaking of old comics, I wonder how much my X-men #1 (the 90's version, not the 60's) will fetch these days? Also my Spawn #1 as well as other first wave of image comics would be valued at. It's a bit disappointing that some of my valiant comics are now worth next to nothing.
  14. My first Heisei rider was Kiva, didn't quite enjoy it, but Decade was the one that pushed me to watch the older riders. Just like Spleach said, Decade will give you the sampling of the other riders, if you don't mind the spoilers that is.
  15. The series finally ended. How do you guys feel about the ending? The last scene was less dramatic than I expected, but overall, I think this will be a good ending should they stop it right here. And because of the final scene in the anime, I don't think they will continue on to GGO, since I remember Kirito doing that after GGO.
  16. Seems to be just about right.
  17. Did somebody translate this already? I seem to remember this 4chan comic, but can't remember if I translated it already.
  18. If Guyot did have the remover, I'd imagine he wouldn't have enough bio-energy to activate it since he is currently using a dummy crystal. It was different when he was a full fledge Zoalord, and yet he barely managed to take off Guyver III's unit. Leaning a bit off topic here, but would it be possible for Guyot to survive his encounter with Alchanfel using the energy from the Remover? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember the remover needing charging using bio-energy. Perhaps Guyot can siphon back the energy that he put into the remover to get out of harms way even for just an instant?
  19. possible The death of cap didn't really leave a lot of fans outraged and yet they brought him back to life. This particular issue even prompted fans to write death threats, so how long do you think before they reverse this decision?
  20. I think I can say based on my following of the BB10 OS, that it is a solid OS. iOS restricts you to their design while Android allows you to customize. To put it clearly, iOS tells you what your phone should be, while you tell Android what your phone should be. BB10, I think, is a little in between. All that I'm looking for in a phone is just to do the basic functions like calling and sms. All the other features are just plus to me. Well, I do use my phone as a sports tracker, so a GPS would do nicely. But all the common smart phones have all the features that I need. It all comes down to user experience.
  21. Apparently there have been leaked images on the web that shows the ending of the comic. The writers are already getting death threats from fans because of this. Even caused some piracy issues and marvel is investigating this. Man, that's just screwed up. Let's see how long before Marvel reverts this back. Or do you think this is just some publicity stunt, and the actual ending is really different. Man, Doc Ock? Really? I find that hard to believe. I'm guessing this is something similar to how they killed cap.
  22. Well, let's do consider superheroes that ARE married. Superman is married, worked out pretty well. Oh wait, New 52, so he's a bachelor again. Hmm.... come to think of it, aside from the pre-new 52 superman, I can't seem to remember any superhero that stayed married. I think the gauge would be "which superhero stayed married the longest time?". Their spouse is either divorced, estranged, never existed or majority of them, dead. Could this play a major influence on the society of Americans where marriage can be easily dissolved with just a simple paperwork?
  23. I know a lot of people see RIM's Blackberry as a dying platform, but after following the development of the BB10 OS, and having seen the leaked images of the final product, I'm starting to have this urge to want one myself. I find the finish to be very sleek, and having experienced the QNX platform in my playbook, I can say that it is a stable OS that I can be comfortable with. Not to mention that it will be my first touch screen phone if I ever decided to get one. But the problem is I don't want to shell out another $500 or more for another phone since both of my current phones are working perfectly fine. My personal phone, which is my Nokia E66, is already having glitches and can be considered to be replaced, but I don't have a data plan for that line which will make it pointless to go blackberry. On the other hand, this would work very well with my work phone that has a full data plan. But I just got my phone this year and I don't see the necessity of changing phones. Predicament, predicament....
  24. I'd do exactly what Cronos did. Take over the world.
  25. Figuarts are usually faithful replicas of the characters, you can actually call these the official figures of the characters. SIC on the other hand are renditions of the sculptors Takeya Takayuki and Ando Kenji, based on how they imagine the characters, hence the label "Super Imaginative Chokogin". It is how they "re-imagine" them. SIC figures are usually much more grotesque or dark compared to the figuarts counterpart to fit the horror genre. You can clearly tell the difference on the earlier SIC models versus their Figuarts counterparts. But more recent SIC has either toned down their "grotesque" style, or that the designs of the characters themselves have grown "darker", which is probably why you might have difficulty telling them apart.
