Gundam 00 (Double 0)
Well, no, because that was part of the background story which made up the story of the series. The last time I saw something like this was in Zeta Gundam. I'm not sure if there was any in V Gundam because I slept throught the whole series while watching it. But I did remember the characters dying like flies in V Gundam.

Gundam 00 (Double 0)
This is probably the first time that I'm seeing mass murder in a non-UC gundam.

Humour thread
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. the little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. the little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah". The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?" The little girl replied, "Then you ask him".

Prop. 8 passed.
There is one thing that is a necessity for marriage. And that is Responsibility. A couple can live under the same roof, have a child together, but they do not take responsibility for one another, thus you can't really call that a marriage, much less a family. Making a family is a result of taking the responsibility to take care of one another. Why do you think a guy would usually marry a girl which he fathered a child? Responsibility.

Prop. 8 passed.
True about the difference in soceity then and now. The question is: is society ready for that yet. Even now, we still have not yet eliminated the discrimination among races. Wether a law is passed or not, there will still be people who are purist and shun the mere idea of this. Sure, there are states that allow same sex marriage, but you have to consider the society that they are in at the moment. Their soceity already accepts "gay" as a norm. It's not a perfect world since everyone has different opinions. Unless everyone learns to accept one situation, matters like this will go on in endless debates. Then again, before such concept would be accepted by everyone, there have to be a catalyst to trigger the acceptance, like an event, which based on history are pretty violent in times. This is something similar to Martin Luther King and his revolution for equality towards civil rights.

Kamen Rider Decade - future info
Not sure if that's genuine or not. but I do remember discussing something similar when Kiva was about to come out. And for the attached picture, here's what it says: green text at top left: Everything, will become clear on January issue. blue text at top right: For the Masked Rider, nothing like this before, a new development has started. What can we really expect? For the details, wait for it in January! text at bottom: Kamen Rider what will happen! lolz, like that did anything good.

why do they say kids are cleverer than adults?
Ingenious things do come about from outrageous ideas. Also it is from mistakes that people learn to improve themselves. But there are exceptions to these kinds of situation. Sometimes people commit mistakes, that is fine, but if people commit mistakes over and over again and still fail to realize what went wrong, and even to the point that common sense is no longer common at all, then you really need to admit that there is something wrong there. I truly believe that common sense are becoming uncommon nowadays.

Prop. 8 passed.
Well, for one thing, like zeo said, what purpose does a marriage serve for gay couples? I guess this would depend on how your society see gay couples. And for one thing, is marriage that big a deal when there are divorces left and right? Usually couples arrive at marriage to start a family. But if the gay couple opt to adopt a child, how would that impact the psychological state of the child with his peers. When all his friends have a mommy and a daddy, what does the child have? Unless of course, the society supports this kind of environment that it will have minimal effects to the psychology of the child. Should we move this to the theories sub-forum? I'm sure there are bound to have heated debates regarding this.

Tribute to Asian Women
I'm sure most of you guys are familiar with Kagami Saki. she's the actress who portrayed Maya in Kamen Rider Kiva:

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Oh my goodness. Is that really Maria that Obata drew? It shattered my image of Maria and makes me want to think loli. Is it intentional that he drew like that because of the similar gothicism of Deathnote and Castlevania? His work in Hikaru no Go is totally different from his designs in death note. The second image does suit the game. Still I like Kojima's art better. Making vampires Bishonen is sorta appropriate. Why else would women fall head over heels for a vampire?

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Is it me or does the cover of Castlevania look extremely close to Light Yagami. Didn't Obata even bother to make the designs less similar so it wouldn't be obvious? It's screaming "Death Note Artist". I like the images of Ayami Kojima better. Her artwork blends rather well with the concept.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Would be great if they used the image art for Richter. The posters of Richter looks great, but the in game sprite makes him look like a cave man, it's just like how Alucard imagined Richter when he met Maria in the castle. I gotta say, that encounter was funny. They never did able to duplicate the success of Symphony of the Night.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
I heard that they will be porting this to the PS3. Is that really true? I am currently replaying the game on my PC because my PS1 already died on me and my PS2 is starting to die on me. Besides, I can't seem to play an English PS1 disc on my Japanese PS2 console. After watching a few videos on Youtube, I learned that there are still some things that I haven't explored in the game yet, like the heart refresh glitches. I also would like to try and finish the game without the use of the cheesy Crissaegrim. And by god I just realized that there is a faster way of leveling the familiars. Not to mention a way to immediately raise the attack power of the Muramasa.

Yu Yu Hakusho
Well, lucky for you that there are torrents out there where you can acquire the movie if you have the bandwidth for it.

Yu Yu Hakusho
Yes, Hiei was actually controlled here. With all the Jagans appearing in his body. He even unleashed his Kokuryuha, but he did managed to regain control. In the final ending you see Yusuke's Rei Gun swing like a sword, rebound like a whip and finally turns into a dragon and swallows the enemy. It's a very good movie actually. the fight scenes were crisps and very well done.

Japanese Word of the Week
Toku, for half you usually use the word "Han". Also angel is "Tenshi" and demon is "akuma". So you can decide to just join the two to form Han Tenshi or Han Akuma. although I'm not sure if such words were ever used before, as it sounds very awkward. As for the tri-breed, I don't think I know of any word, but you could use "zasshuken", but that's refering to a mixed breed dog. Mr. McTaco, if you wish to use a romanized version of your name, you can use "ミスターマックタコ" or "Misuta- Makkutako" One fine, sunny day, Bugs Bunny got raped by an oyster. It was weird. Aru akarui hi, Baggus Bani wa kaki ni goukan sareta. sore wa hen.

Yu Yu Hakusho
There were 2 movies actually. The first one is some sort of a semi movie and doesn't really have much story in it. The second movie "Yuu Yuu Hakusho Meikai Shitou Hen" deals with a more serious plot. And yes, that's the movie where Kuronue appeared. And Raizen should be kickass, if not, how would he be able to rule the demon world?

Why do jerks and creeps keep getting the girls
That's an interesting situation. It will be difficult to give you an exact advice as not all situations are the same. But have you ever considered at how she feels about you? The way she talks to you and the way she acts around you. From that point on you would already know what she's thinking. Perhaps you might want to try a different approach, that instead of asking her out directly, perhaps invite her to do something that would not be considered as a date. Also, how you interact with her depends on what type of person she is. If she doesn't talk a lot, that only means 2 things. One is that she wants you to do the talking and two she feels uncomfortable with you. Also as you said that she is still thinking about your answer, depends also on what type of person she is. If she is a really nice person, that she may be too shy to tell you no. If on the other hand that she's somewhat frank, she may want to see your perseverance. Again, it all depends on the people involved and the situation given.

Gundam 00 (Double 0)
Well, there is an alternative way of watching the series. If it takes a long time for you to acquire the video in good quality and can't wait to watch it, crunchyroll can satisfy your urge. You can actually watch it there while waiting for your dl to finish. Last week, while waiting for my dl to finish, I watched it in crunchyroll instead.

Japanese Word of the Week
My apologies. I was not able to be clear about this. Adjective use "-kereba" while verbs simply use "-ba". Example uses of "-ba" Hanaseba - if let go Yakeba - if grilled nomeba - if drank

Japanese Word of the Week
Well, it's been weeks and no feature has been made. Perhaps everyone was waiting for me? either that or nobody's interested in this topic anymore. Well, for this session, let's tackle one suffix that recently came about. "-kereba" This suffix is usually attached to adjectives. Adding this suffix will convert the adjective into an "if" statement. Simply replace the "i" at the end of the adjective with kereba. If you want to use it in a negative form, add a "nakereba". Take an example for the adjective "strong" or "Tsuyoi". It ends in "i", so if you want to say "If you are strong" then you say it as "Tsuyokereba". However, using it in a negative term, like "If you are not strong" then you say "Tsuyonakereba". If anyone has watched Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X), one of Shishio's favorite moto is "Tsuyokereba iki, yowakereba shinu", of "if you are strong you live, if you are weak you die.". Examples: Yasukereba, kaimashou = if it's cheap, let's buy it soto wa atsukereba detekunai = if its hot outside I don't want to go out Come to think of it, this thread is no longer "Japanese Word of the Week". It's more like, "Japanese phrase lesson for the week". Perhaps next week we'll revert back to words again.

Gay loving is really not an issue. It's already accepted in most cities around the world. What's really creepy is Necrofillia. *shudders*
