hey guys, I really need to get some funds so I need to sell some stuff. I have the guyver out of control music CD, griselda gashapon, libertus gashapon. I have the manga but i think i need to keep that. I have a 'anime uk' magazine with guyver on the cover and a feature on guyver inside. hmm, I guess i could sell my guyver novel, although I'd rather not. but if somebody wants it and can offer me a fair price, and i can't sell my other things... I could part with it. let me know if you're interested.

Thanks very much Guyver Four! wow, this is earlier than usual is it not? I have to say, that is the BEST chapter of guyver in a LONG TIME. I think the last time I have been that excited was when Guyver II F first appeared. what a heck of a ride. we're starting off thinking who the hell is this? then what we are greeted with is the coolest bit of strategy! so creative to do such a thing! my first thought was that it was aptom, but then we are greeted with something that looks like guyver, but has crystals all over it, almost like a zoalord... so unusual!! but on top of that, what a course of events! they are actually hoping to team up with Shin against Apollon? or.. well actually from what i managed to read quickly, it seems Shou is asking information about him. Guyver Four, could you please let us know when you get the higher quality version? Thanks for posting this

yep. I never would watch dragonball GT because the manga had ended at that point. even though I would love to see more of the characters, it seems wrong. I see your point about shou getting his powers after a loss. I hadn't fully considered it.

that is incredible. I'd love to buy that if i could afford it.

cheers lost unit. you know, sometimes i can't see where you have typeset. that is a good thing. to be so seamless that people can't see what you've done, that is a big skill.

it's good fun! thanks for sharing! I watched the first episode. it's well presented, a good length and entertaining. it reminds me of when I used to watch Arino on Gamecentre CX. I miss that. I wish TVN still did it.

that's a good point. production values for that episode were really poor as well. my initial motivation for learning animation was to fix the part where shou walks out of the burning car. that scene had zero impact when it could have had a lot. but now i realise fixing that shot would be useless when taken in the context of the entire episode.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. Lost Unit, ha ha I might consider doing a web episode if i had a team to work with! Animating takes FOREVER. well if it were dialogue scenes of human characters, it would be relatively easy. but guyver is insanely difficult to animate because of the irregular shapes. edit: maybe if I can do something with a 3d wireframe... might make it easier to draw guyver and I could potentially animate a lot of things. but i haven't used 3d in literally years. not sure if I want to get into it. well there is a possibility, if there can be voice actors and a sound editor, a soundtrack can be made and that could then be animated. it's possible. I don't know how likely though.

oh yeah i remember that episode 8 where they got the shots completely mixed up! they had murakami enveloped by dyme then in a later shot they replaced him with guyver 1!!!

papadol is not too thrilling to be honest so I got a new series. I chose it because it feature oguri shun and he is great in everything I've seen him in. this series is called rich man poor woman. it's very interesting, oguri shun plays a very rich guy who heads a innovative company. the female lead is a poor student who has been rejected from 32 job applications. she comes to his company and even though she doesn't get hired, she gets involved with them in more interesting ways. the more interesting part is that oguri shuns character cannot remember faces. this brings in a very interesting element. I've seen 2 eps so far and i'm hooked on it.

he he, pretty nice but the math didn't make the music, the human made the music from the math.

this is a pibgorn - I think it could potentially sound nice if used in the right setting and with the right ensemble.

I tried to watch accel world but i couldn't get into it. watched episode 2 of SAO last night. very nice! I am curious as to why kirito(?) is behaving that way. it's like he turns to the dark side. instead of explaining himself and what diabel actually did, he prefer to distance himself from the others. it makes for an interesting protagonist. I did really love the continuation of the premise. the thing about beta testers, monster tactics and rare drops. so utterly cool.

now THAT's what I'm talking about!! that is top stuff. the base design seems to be very faithful. it is also very interesting to think about the mass production ed 209. in the first movie it was a prototype and that was the scary thing about it. when it malfunctioned... that was bad. I wonder how they will approach that in this new movie? they have to have something that resembles that scene. it was fairly monumental.

that is cool. have you heard of a welsh instrument called a pibgorn? the name seems similar in some way. although that gemshorn sounds much nicer to me.

I don't really subscribe to either theory properly. the singularity is not a thing in my book because i believe that as technology advances, the distinction between technology and humanity will fade. I actually think the concept of humanity will start to become more fuzzy as animals of other species start to become considered to be more like us than different. I mean, people have pets that are treated as part of the family. in time, the separation from us as a species will become less apparent as technology can be used to augment various things including intelligence and communication. The uncanny valley thing, I merely think what we are seeing is the visage of a corpse. it looks like a human but we can't see the signs of life. therefore we only see it as a dead human. what is worse, it is animated so it is like looking at a zombie. the difference will always be if something has life or not. the presence of life depends on the animator. a good animator can inject life into a construct. a bad animator cannot.

yeah, you're right, I was just thinking of matching my work to an original screenshot but applying a sharpen filter and a corrosive effect. I am looking at the way the photography was done on the original cel's and i think it would be pretty difficult to match the imperfections in it. I'm definitely seeing an over-sharp effect on the lines, but there is also an odd blur effect going on there. I think the jpeg artefacts are also causing some interference there. perhaps if I also add a blur filter on it it would look better.

episode 7 was notoriously bad for this. there are about 3 or 4 shots with horrendous animation. I mean, really distorted images of the guyver, I can't imagine how the director passed those keyframes. they must have been right up against the deadline or something. there is another shot in episode 10 that I really want to re-do. actually, it's been on my mind for almost 20 years. it's the reason I originally went to college in 1999 to learn animation, though I never gained enough skill in the craft until after university. it's always been on the backburner because after getting my degree, I became aware of how much work goes into it. truth be told, guyver is pretty intimidating to animate.

wow, that blows! what a shame that the work was wasted. I see your point about the reduced detail on the costume. I can understand that. I'm not sure though. the one that is more shiny has a different shape to it too. it's a bit more bulky in areas and more contoured. load up those two pics of him on the bike and you can see the difference, although you've probably already done that

I can't see any reason why they would have a different costume for the stuntman. it doesn't make sense because the stuntman needs to look as close to the actor as possible.

those are interesting images, I wonder why it looks like there are three versions. maybe they don't fully build him and he starts out with basic armour and they improve him over time? now I am more intrigued by this movie.

I went to the museum and there was an exhibit about the french wars. there was a description of what cannons used to do to the soldiers and what the field surgeons had to do. I'm really glad I live in the modern world because the things that went on, it is truly nightmarish to even think about it. weapons are horrendous things. that is how I feel about it. sorry, I don't mean to rain on your parade. I'm sure it was very fascinating and I am glad you had a nice time
