  1. no, I was watching this tv program called "kill it, cook it, eat it". one of the people participating was a vegan and was such a hypocrite. the comparison between plants and animals.. not so nuts. we only relate to animals because of their similarity to us. it doesn't make them any more or less alive. that's what i find hypocritical.. because they say things like "look at that wonderful beautiful living creature"
  2. guys remember to give a small hint to what the video is about please.
  3. It realy bugs me when i see these vegans or vegetarians who think they are so superior. they cherish the sanctity of life etc etc. but they show a remarkable amount of ignorance whilst claiming to be more educated. they fail to see the bigger picture. first of all, they say that animals should not be eaten because it is cruel to eat another form of life. they fail to realise they are discriminating against another form of life. they are suggesting that plant life is somehow less significant than animal life. they claim that animals suffer. first off, they have no way of knowing if an animal suffers like humans. much of an animals behaviour is instinctive, they can't communicate to us effectively and they don't have the knowledge of good an evil, right and wrong etc. even a human being in an enormous amount of pain can get by without suffering. they show a great lack of understanding of just what 'suffering' is. besides, animals will die one way or another. in the wild before humans came along, animals would be killed by predators. in some cases.. like with alligators, the animal would certainly not be killed humanely, it would probably experience a lot of distress and pain. so now humans give them a good life, look after them and dispatch them humanely. I would say their situation is a lot better off. do these vegetarians/vegans think that the animals would be better off if we suddenly stopped eating them? no, we would need much more farming space to grow the plant foods to replace the animals. what would happen to hte livestock? they wouldn't all be kept alive for sure. they would be mass killed. and burnt. their species would likely be extinct or heavily endangered. mass ecosystems would be destroyed because there are things that rely on how the animals are kept. for example, mushrooms that grow on cow manure. aside from all this, the people who rely on these industries would be ruined. whole industries would be wiped out. there would be lots of suffering. and would the animals benefit? of course not. I totally respect any person who decides not to at meat for their own personal reason. If a person cannot deal with the idea that meat comes from animals, then that is their right. I have no problem with ignorant people. I have no problem with people who can't deal with death in animals. what really annoys me is hypocrites who try and convince people to their way of thinking and deny responsibility for their own issues. /rant over.

  5. do you mean the last decent classic? or do you mean the last classic episode your tv channel aired? because Sylvester McCoy was the last doctor of classic Dr Who.
  6. good stuff I'm tempted to reply with michael jackson songs.. he he. I won't though, we already have a MJ thread.
  7. I want to see older actors. I want to see some serious approach to characters and story. this looks like they are going backwards. honestly, shinkenger seemed like a positive step forward to decent programming but they seem to have slipped into reverse again.
  8. oh cool pic of dottore barcas
  9. well has anyone seen the promo that TVN are distributing? i have the say ... they DO get younger. that red guy has to be around fifteen!!! the yellow girl looks almost identical to kotoha. I like the suits... but from this promo... I really don't like.
  10. cheers durendal. wow, that was amazing! think i'd like to see more things like this. the harmony between the two musicians was so beautiful, the relationship so detached and yet so intimate.
  11. don't forget how aptom has been described as a self processing zoanoid. if the processing method uses retrovirus' as has been suggested, then aptom may well transfer all his memories etc using retrovirus. also, this is very important, the term ontogenesis was used within the manga. ontogenesis specifically implies a lesser lifeform spontaneoulsy becoming a more complex lifeform. surely this would apply to a simple organism such as a retrovirus or very similar. in essence, aptom could BE a virus. in terms of storage, i'm pretty sure each of us is aware of some other methods of storage within a cell. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nucleic_acid any of these nucleic acids could be kept primarily in a retrovirus that is coursing through aptoms body constantly. perhaps his lymph system is the medium, since that seems more similar to hormones to me. and perhaps these retrovirus constantly check in with each other and compare notes. if one has more information (more memories) these are simply copied across. in an unusual case where each has different memories, they should notice the difference in the memories and both give each other a copy of what the other doesn't have.
  12. i wish i could have a neo-zxtole!

that's all good progress, i'm happy to hear stuff like that. i'd like it if the big money company's had no way to block progress. but it is problematic with all the corruption in governments. i'd like to replace my roof tiles with solar panels. that would make much more sense than any windmills. we can save money and power, we have the technology.
  14. that one was limited edition. you had to collect stamps from packets of the other guyver figures. I'm not sure about those others... i assumed they released them under bio fighter wars. if not then we have a whole range yet to come out.
  15. thanx, it is how i feel just now. a bit mystified and freaking out and frustrated. it's been a bit hectic.

well it's not like i'm going to arrive at any answers, I'm not looking to solve global warming or anything. I think that the most important thing is how society is going to work from now towards the future. I'm also very concerned about politics and the state of liberty. liberty is a big issue for me and probably for most people in the uk. do you realise that the UK has the highest concentration of CCTV in the world? we are the most watched nation and our government is increasingly moving towards the 'nanny state' . so this is what concerns me.. when government starts to say " how are we going to fix global warming" and their answer involves trying to control the public even more... I understand that the world can get colder before it gets warmer. it is going like the arctic in the uk at the moment. I am not so ignorant that i would think this is not a sign of climate instability. I can agree that the climate will fluctuate. do i think we are a direct cause? i'm not so sure. do i think that any kinds of system that messes up my life will help? no. absolutely not. we are but a fraction of the world population. the vast majority of the worlds population is in china and india. and given the state of politics right now.. and economics... I really don't see why i should make my life more difficult when the effect it is gonna have is like a fly trying to break the ice on a pond that people are skating on. what i think the real solution is, is not doing any cutbacks or anything. I think technology is the answer. they need to invent something that will help to stabilise teh climate.

what a wonderful boxing day. I made my plans. go to town to get the game i wanted and then go to a party at my brothers at around 4pm. it's a tradition every boxing day for me to take whatever money i get and make sure i get something decent to honour the person who gave the money. this year my grandma gave money. so I planned to honour my grandma by getting a decent gift and of course you always need to get there before the good stuff is gone in the sale. I planned to get up early but because my mum had woken me up 3 hours too early on xmas day i was pretty tired and woke up at 20 past 3. there was plenty of time to go to town though. my mum came to me complaining because she wanted to rush off and she was waiting for me because of the treacherous weather. i said ok, I would be going with them, I just needed to get the game from town. (we don't live far from the shops) when i came downstairs she told me she wasn't going to wait for me and was going now. I was a bit taken aback, i don't know where this was coming from. I said i wouldn't be long, but then i said i thought, if they are going in the car, they can go via town and i can pick up my game and then we can all go straight to the party together. but of course that is too much trouble for them. a 5 minute detour is not acceptable in their world. I was really looking forward to the party so i rushed to go to town and get back in tome to go. on my way across the paths i found that it was ice and i actually slipped and i fell. it was quite painful, but i continued and got the game i wanted and returned home. the house was empty. I can't believe my family would not bend at all. so I have been sitting at home recovering from the fall and warming up again. I had not bought any food because i was looking forward to go to the party and eating lots with my family. instead i was sat at home, in pain from falling, cold and hungry with nobody around. by the time i felt ok to get up and walk around without hurting, It was too late to even think about trying to walk to my brothers party. it was quite a way and would take 25 minutes or so even with normal pavements. with such ice on the paths and the road, it would have been far too late and i am sure everyone would be planning to go home by then. so i decided to go to my friends house instead. i could pick up some food on the way there and we could play games late into the night. there was still ice around but i figured i can go on my bike on the roads. at one point i decided it was safer to go past a junction on the pavement instead of the road and the ice was cleared at this section. unfortunately it was not completely cleared around the corner. my bike went from under me and i ended up looking at the sky. why does this happen to me on this day? I was almost ready to laugh my ass off as i was looking at the sky and i felt like just putting my head down and lying there watching the clouds. i didn't as i thought if somebody saw they might think i was badly hurt. so anyway, when i got to my friends i was with quite a headache from the impact i had taken. i managed to get back home without any serious problem. I had to hold onto people's fences at times to make sure i was safe. the roads had become slippy because it had rained... oh well, what a hell of a day. tomorrow should be better anyway!
  24. so there was one scene that played at the beginning of it that i found pretty funny and was laughing at it quite a bit, but that same scene was repeated later as it was a kind of flashback, only the second time round it was put into context and my emotions were completely reversed. this was so powerful, I could not believe it, japanese tv have such an ability to create powerful entertainment. I am so invested in this character already after not even a full episode. I really want to be his friend more than anything. I want to be there to stand beside him and say "hey buddy, it's gonna be alright". durendal, I am understanding a lot more about why you did what you did back then. the passion must have grabbed ahold of you and i actually think it showed a lot of goodness in human nature. although people did feel a little cheated at the time, they soon got over it and moved on. i think it was a good thread though, to show solidarity among friends. it shows how people can be really supportive and that is pretty much the theme of this show at that stage. he is talking to his internet friends and that scene was also played out in real life. it was an amazing thing and i recommend anyone to watch the series to get that feeling.
