May 19, 201213 yr The tittle says it all, from what i found recently looking for some news regarding anything resembling a new Guyver movie and came with this particular twitter comment from David Hayter that he wanted to make a 3rd film with Steve Wang again but Wang said that it was too tangled up in right issues. Is this still the case? is there any way we could help out Hayter bring more interest in making this film come true by doing some petitions? here is the tweeter comment from hayter: https://twitter.com/...816481204183040
May 20, 201213 yr probably something to do with Newline and/or ADV. this is interesting though. good research. I'm not sure how effective our actions may be when we consider the size of these movies studios and companies. our numbers are not that significant in my view, but I am open to helping with any action if people want to give it a go.
May 20, 201213 yr The only way we can help out pretty much in the era of comic-book hero movies that I can think of, is to promote Guyver to as many people as possible. That way they buy Guyver products instead of mearly watching online, which would tell them that the fan base is still here.
May 21, 201213 yr i just think this is interesting as it is the first time i have ever heard Hayter acknowledge the guyver movies! not that i thought he wasn't particularly proud of them, just that he's always caught up in MGS and other things.
May 21, 201213 yr Actually he seems to be fond of it. His personal website has some photos from the movie, his official YouTube channel is GuyverSnake, and his production company is called Dark Hero.
May 21, 201213 yr In fact a lot of the voice over work he has done has him credited as Sean Barker, so I would have to agree that he is fond of the guyver movie
May 22, 201213 yr Haha well I stand very corrected Now that you mention it, I do remember in the old MGS manual he is credited Sean Barker even though the game states its David Hayter
May 22, 201213 yr well in that tweet he did say he pitched the idea ''many years back'' so maybe those rights issues have changed? maybe if we start a little momentum he might run with it? if what Lordspleech says is true then he obviously still has some love for the Guyver, so it can't harm to try can it??
May 22, 201213 yr I think increasing the following for guyver will be the most effective. if anyone reading this can help with the guyver advocacy project, think that would increase the likelihood of a guyver movie, because of how many people don't read guyver due to our run being incomplete.
May 22, 201213 yr This is an awesome piece of news. I knew David Hayter had an interest with Guyver and I think hearing somewhere that when he proposed the idea for a third Guyver movie to Steve Wang he already started to write up a basic outline for the movie, but it didn't go any further than that. The only thing that I can think of to help this project to go further is to try and re-inspire David Hayter and possibly Steve Wang to have them start talking about it. My last idea is to start with your local comic book stores and see if there is a way to start up getting Guyver manga's and sell at their store. You might be surprised how many people are willing to try to work with you if you just ask. And hell a petition couldn't hurt right? Comic Con is coming up if anyone is attending have a petition set up, especially next to the Guyver merchandise with Funimation.
May 23, 201213 yr Well, we've got the petition to get the Guyver manga translated into English, so why not start showing this to a lot of people? Last I checked the page count for that was in the double digits; couldn't we show that to Mr. Hayter and others saying "Hey, there's still a fanbase around"?
May 24, 201213 yr I have seen more and more popularity of the Guyver theme amv and good reviews I have put everything in my power to promote it for 3 years in Spanish speaking countries
May 24, 201213 yr It would be ridiculously awesome if they made it like they did the Death Note/Gantz films.
May 25, 201213 yr That's one heck of an interesting piece of news; I didn't know that David himself was so interested in the 'verse. That's cool.
May 25, 201213 yr if he does, I think there's a good chance he would keep quiet about it. as he starred in the film, it would be bad for his image to admit that he reads scanlations because many people strongly believe it damages the author and publishers. in fact, crazy thought, it is entirely possible (maybe unlikely) that he is already on the forum and talked to us a couple of times. but we would never know.
May 25, 201213 yr That was for the possibility of him being on the forums. Though I doubt he would read scanlations cause he did spend some time living in Kobe, Japan as a kid. So I believe he knows some Japanese.
August 9, 201213 yr Also there are two sources to buying the manga and most likely got sources for his role via VIZ and then there is the Singaporean release..... but then they stopped being released.. Hopefully if they make a new one , they should reboot it. Otherwise it will be MIB backlash. As I was introduced to the franchise via the second film [thank God I hate the first soo much] I hope they integrate some of the American film's story into the reboot [as a different character but still a homage to the film series] so the action can happen not only in Japan , but abroad. I haven't gone really far in the manga releases to really get a picture of what happens ,aside from watching the anime and reading the first VIZ manga.
