I've added a sample section in the zoanoids page (http://www.japan-legend.com/wiki/index.php?title=Zoanoid#Testing_Purposes) using the Enzymes as subjects. I've given them a class of Anti Guyvers. The link in the class would redirect them to the class page listing zoanoids of similar class. So if anyone wants to see similar zoanoids, they can simply click the link. Also, I have made their names into their own link. Meaning we can simply click their names to go to their own page for editing purposes. Of course the difficulty in this kind of setup would be the mass edits. We would have to edit all the zoanoids pages one by one should we decide to add something. In the end, we would have 3 pages for the zoanoids. 1 page for the general info linking to the 2 pages, List of Zoanoid sorted alphabetically and List of Zoanoid sorted by class. Is this what you were thinking? If so, I hope we can finalize the contents and standard format for the zoanoids before I proceed with this. Please do tell if there is something we should add or omit. Additionally, we should agree on the terms for the category or "class". I've come up with "class" since I can't think up of any at the moment, I would like to avoid using long terms like "Zoanoids Suited for Aquatic" or the sort. "Type" perhaps?

Ah, now I get it. Each zoanoid has it's own small page, but we have another page showing all the indivual zoanoids page in one single page. I think a test should be in order. I want to learn to do this.

Hmm... I can see where you are heading. But yes, I think we can work this out. Maybe we can list the zoanoids alphabetically and link them to the specific section of the zoanoids page. Or, we can arrange the zoanoids page alphabetically instead of per category. I can also use the free space to indicate the "suitable category" for the specific zoanoid. But we should also consider people who don't know the names of the zoanoid. Perhaps they might be searching for a flying zoanoid that can force remove bioboosting. Was it karvi, Curry or bicker? I do have a solution to satisfy both arguments. We simply create 2 pages. 1 page sorted by suitable category, while another page sorted alphabethically. I'm just not sure how you feel about repetition of content. I like your suggestion of putting a single page for each zoanoid. But the problem will be the content. I'm not entirely sure what else to put there if we have an exclusive page for each zoanoid.

What about the classifications in the vdf? Do you think it would be alright if we follow the classifications indicated there? It's going to be a little bit messy if there is no sub categories for the zoanoids.

I was looking at the old database in the guyver.net and have based the zoanoids page on what was there. I actually copied the content with some of my own formatting. So I created a zoanoid pages categorizing them as Aqua type, aerial type, power type, bio-blaster type and guyver killer type. Now here is the question, on the old guyver.net page, in the power type category, I noticed that the zoanoids Bystoma and Eurenorm seems to be aqua type (as per written on the description). How do you think we should go about this? Do I regroup them with the aqua type, or do I just follow what was written in the guyver.net? Perhaps we should follow the vdf?

We've actually managed to cover only the tip of the iceberg. There are still a lot of things that we have to do. So any edits you can do are surely welcome. Especially the "engrish" parts. Since I took them out of the Japanese wiki, information that is not available in any english page. I think this is the one advantage we have over wikipedia (although some information are copied from wikipedia). Not to mention that we also provide images to help readers visualize what they are reading. What I'm actually doing is to try and arrange the layout of the entire guyver information into something more comprehensive and cohesive, and fill in some minor details that I can provide. But when in comes to content, I'm afraid that my resources are quite limited.

Actually, I found the chapter titles by accident. I was looking through the scanlations to get the portrait of the zoalords in the start of the volumes. There are some volumes that have the first index page untouched. That's where I got them. But there are books that don't have them, and some have other chapters that still have the japanese titles. I noticed that some of the earlier volumes have ommitted some of the titles. Also, this has really been bugging me. The location of Silha. The older volumes say it was somewhere in the atlantic ocean. But checking on the VDF as well as the japanese wiki, all of them are saying Pacific ocean. The Japanese indicates it as 太平洋, so if it is indeed that atlantic ocean it should say 大西洋. I think there may have been some confusion with the translations here. And lastly, regarding the music tracks, I planned to link each track to an mp3, but is still hesitating due to our stand regarding publication of copyright materials. Why is why I only proposed to put samples for the CD that are available in the market. With regards to the 12 episode OVA soundtrack, since this CD is no longer in print or available anywhere, I thought that we could provide the songs for the whole CD. What do you think?

page: Guyver
I think the out of control CD was just re-released a few years back so there is really no problem getting information about that. I was actually referring to the 12 episode OVA that had the 2 disc album. Anyway, I don't plan on directly linking the files. I plan on uploading them to a separate server (like mediafire). The files can actually be found on khinsider. Just google it and it's the first result. Head over the downloads, the music files are under "bio-booster armor guyver - Special OST"

Wow Ryuki, that was really quick. Thanks. The TV series page now looks complete. Very nice, if I might say so myself. Hope you don't mind me asking another question. I've just finished adding the track list for the guyver Music page. And since the OVA CD is somewhat out of print or hard to find, will it be alright if we provide mp3 for some of the songs there? I know where I can get the audio for those (actually that's where I got the track list from, and I had to reverse translate from English into Japanese). Also, will it be alright if we provide sample tracks for the other CD, just to entice the readers to buy the actual CD? Just sharing some of my thoughts.

Ah cool, thanks. Surname first it is. Thanks also for the images. But I seem to remember them differently. Oh wells, I'm sure I can make use of them. Additionally, I'd like to request for help with the episode guide: http://www.japan-legend.com/wiki/index.php?title=Guyver:_TV_Series I've remformatted the page, but I retained all elements of the old page, just added air dates, titles in both English and Japanese, episode credits, and I do hope you don't mind if I took the summary from wikipedia. Synopsis are one of my weak points, and I'll be glad if someone else would edit them. As for my request, I noticed that only episode 1 has the complete screenshots while the rest are blank. Do you still have the images for them? I liked the images since it also provides information about the screen cap.

I HATED Gerard Butler as the phantom. He always sang Mmmmmusic, again and again. The dragging of the M really got on my nerves. And they way Schumaker filmed it, especially the first trip down into the sub basements... it was such a waste. It was SO mechanical when it should have been magical. On stage, the candles arise from the fog/water, and it really feels like magic. In this movie, we have a camera on one end of the tunnel, stitch to the camera on the other, and presto candles lift from the water on cue and auto ignite. Everything was too crystal clear and shallow. If I could have done that scene, I would have had the camera follow them into the tunnel, go over their heads-spin around, and face them as they come out the other side. Switch to a camera mounted above the water, near the front of the boat as it passes-have a faint puff of rolling mist across the water, and slowly have the candelabras arise. The flames would slowly ignite-from different candle nubs at different intervals. And DON'T use a wide angle lens; the background must blur a little to get that magic feeling. Some things must be perfectly sharp, others slightly out of focus, and slowed down. This is Phantom of the Opera! Spectacle is EVERYTHING! Granted, I liked how they repositioned the chandelier scene, that was good. And the singing got way better after the chandelier. I loved the grave yard Well, to each his own then. Anyway, another music that I liked. This is from Gwen Stafani, something which has less angst compared to her other songs. Gwen Stafani - 4 in the morning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw9EXSY3hpE

By the way, I'd like to ask about the naming conventions for the characters. This is going to impact the names of the pages and I only realized it today. For character names, it was my practice to place the surname first before the given name, like "Fukamachi Shou". I have done it like this in the Masked Rider pages. I didn't get any comments on it so I paid no attention to it. Now I noticed that there are pages that starts with the given name first then followed by the surname, like "Tetsuro Segawa", though the page is still currently blank. Not to mention that Takaya's page was named as "Yoshiki Takaya". In the wiki, how should we put it? Should it be "Fukamachi Shou" or "Shou Fukamachi"? I think it would be better to establish this early on while there are still few pages than to rename the pages later on. Also might avoid repetitive pages.

I have also added a few more characters in the character section of the main guyver page. At the rate that we're going, perhaps later it might be a good idea to dedicate a single page to list all the characters. This way, even those pages that doesn't have a dedicated page will still get some highlights. Also, I seem to remember seeing mugshots of the zoalords in the guyverboard. I remember you guys having the title of each zoalord with their mugshots as your avatar. Will it be alright to ask for them? I plan to use them for the zoalords page. If I'm not mistaken, they are from the guyver volumes.

Made some changes to the main guyver page. I've divided the terminologies into bioboost and zoaforms. With a link to the zoaforms page with in-depth information. The information here was copied from the Advent Database, which I propose we should remove due to redundancy. I kept the art reference and amalgated them with the articles written in the Advent Database page. Additionally, the original guyverboard page about zoaforming: http://www.theguyver.net/guyver_datafiles/hierarchy/data_zoaforming.htm seems to have a lot of very useful information. Perhaps we can include the information there and move the zoanoid classes to their own page. I won't touch the Zoaforms page since you are currently working on them. And lastly, I tweaked the adaptations section. I've included some short information regarding the pages as opposed to simply listing the links.

Yes, excatly. And you wanted to transfer all those information to this board. Might take a little bit of time to finish all of it, but we'll get there. Right now, I think I could work on the hyper zoanoid page and incorporate all those that you have done in the old board. I'll also be adding some formatting of my own to add cohesion to the pages. Would you agree if we lose the current zoaform page and replace it with the ones you made in the guyverboard? edit: No, we should retain the zoaform page, but I suggest we split the zoanoids, hyper zoanoids, lost number and zoalords into their own pages. I have already created a page solely for Hyper Zoanoids. I just combined the information from the guyverboard pages. Hope this is okay.

Okay, this might be a little hard to keep track, but I've made edits on several pages. For one thing, I edited Takaya's page. I've expanded on what was written there and included some personal information like date of birth, birth place and added an improvised info box. Next, I edited the 12 holy commanders page. I now listed the 12 zoalords as well as the protozoalord, with short description of each of them (work in progress). I've also placed placeholders for their mugshots. I really didn't want to clutter the page with large pictures. I plan to link this as the zoalord page from the zoaform page. Then I edited the guyver systems page. The page were all the weapons of the guyver were listed? I added the guyvers, their height, weight and a short description. I think I would want to modify the format further, but I'm still thinking on how to improve on it more. The current weapons listing looks like a plain old list. I plan to categorize each weapons, and add a few images of said weapons. To spice up the page. I hope this would be alright. Feel free to revert all if not acceptable.

At the moment, I can't think of any images that I can add. But I would like to finish the Zoaforms page. I was thinking of reformatting the zoaform pages, giving the zoanoids, hyper-zoanoids, zoalords and lost numbers their own separate page. With the main page listing the notable zoanoids/hypers/lords that had significant impact on the story, and another listing all the zoanoids available (ala VDF). I think that since we are an in-depth source of information, they should deserve their own page instead of all them lumped into a single page. I think this was one of the issues that you needed help on, if I remember correctly. Additionally, perhaps we should merge the Zoalords page with the 12 holy commanders main page? Maybe I should tweak the 12 holy commanders page before I proceed with the Zoaforms page.

Has the media lost their creativity?
In terms of creativity, I don't think that it's a drop in quality but more in the increase of our own standards. If you continue to watch similar series, you'll eventually figure out the trend, and thus gets boring. I can site an example here using Final Fantasy. When FF6 was released, everyone was wowed by it. But when FF7 came out, old players dissed FF7 in favor of FF6, while new players were awe strucked by FF7. When FF8 came out, the same thing happened, old players of FF7 hated FF8 while new players loved FF8. I can you can say that this theory may also be applied in the Kamen Rider debate we had a few months back. link: http://www.japan-legend.com/forum/index.php/topic/2439-whats-wrong-with-todays-rider/ All media is prone to boredom if one continues to be exposed to it. also, the main chunk of the market consists of games/media sponsored by big companies, giving them so much exposure and hype, that when you actually see it, it's really not big a deal. In the end, it all comes down to advertising, with the major sponsor dictating how a media should be, thus, inputs are made in the board room instead of leaving the creative reins on the editorial. So, in effect, it's not really the fault of the writers, but the fault of their bosses who pays for them. This is why there are so many underrated games/media out there.

Has the media lost their creativity?
From that speech, I get the impression that it's blaming video games. True enough, video games of today are more reliant on sharp graphics rather than in-depth puzzles. Of course there are still a select video games out there with true story, but gone are the days where you actually need your wits to play a game. Games like Incredible Machine which requires logical thinking are no longer made. Only popular games like Halo, and any shooting games seems to be famous. Although intellect-wise they prove to be no challenge, research shows that children that play these games have improved reflex as well as hand and eye coordination.

Well, based on the discussions being made (well, it actually seems to be only the both of us), the navbox is approved? Since it's easy to edit, I'll just add the navbox to existing guyver pages. Also edited the Valcuria=>Valkyria and removed Mount minakami as it is the one and the same as relics point.

Has the media lost their creativity?
With the current trends of movie coming out of hollywood, I no longer expect something new from them. Instead, I see them as an avenue for lesser known series to reach out a wider audience range. One good example is Twilight. Before, they were just books written by Stephanie Mayer. With a small following around the world, now that the movie's come out, it became a phenomenon. You might say that one positive thing about Hollywood is that they can really hype things up. Before the Harry Potter movies came out, I have never heard of J.K. Rowling. And Tom Clancy was just some other author before Hunt for Red October was released. What I'm getting at here is that even though Hollywood has lost its ability to be creative (originallity-wise), they have evolved into a medium that would make an unknown famous.

Great song from the Phantom of the Opera. You just gotta love Gerard Butler. From singing as the Phantom to the great king Leonides who proclaims "This is Sparta!!." Now that's what you call talent. In response to that, I offer this song. This is one of my favorite part: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHAauiJwwmU

Has the media lost their creativity?
Goodness. My sincerest apologies for this. I did not realize such carelessness on my part. Let me retract my statement as I was actually referring to "Hollywood" and not the "West". Please do forgive my inappropriate statements. I will no longer compare creativity from Hollywood to those of the "eastern" counterpart. But I will use Cannes Film Festival instead. Storywise, hollywood cannot compare to those movies being presented in the cannes film festival. These movies are made by unknown people and yet famous people laud these work. What I really hate about hollywood is that they don't know when to stop. They just keeps on milking series as long as people will continue to support them sacrificing the quality, thus the creativity issue. Usually, good creativity stems from unknown film makers trying to make a break into hollywood. Only a select few film makers maintain good creativity when their status rises. I will admit, Tim Burton never ceases to amaze me with his creativity. on the other hand, I never really did appreciate the works of M Night Shamalan. For me, if you've seen one of his movies, you've seen them all. But look at how many movies hollywood churns out in a year. With a number of subpar films coming out from hollywood, I would not question as to why people see this as lack of creativity.
