I won't give you unsolicited advice since i don't think you need it at this moment. You're a big guy and you already know what to do. If you have plans of becoming more than friends, make sure that you're not in her "friend zone", else it would be very difficult to get out of it.
  2. Ah, revealing things about Valkyria and then a break the next month. Mr. Takaya is such a cruel person.
  3. Wow, we must be lucky then. Ticket prices here is only $7.75, and that is already on 3D which includes free popcorn and a drink. Regular 2D is at $5.5, but that's already at a high end cinemas. I watched it in 3D since that's the only time slot available that I can squeeze into. I would recommend you watch it. Don't get me wrong, I love the movie. I said "meh" mainly because it didn't have the "wow" factor that would prompt me to watch it again like some of the other Marvel Movies *cough* Captain America *cough*. I would say it is worth the drive and the ticket price. If not, watch it for the sake of Avengers 2. I think that should there be an Iron Man 4, it would have to be after Avengers 2. I mean, this is basically the start of Phase 2 of the Avengers. Next up would be Thor, then Captain America, then Guardians of the Galaxy, which is logical given the ending in the first Avengers movie, then would lead into Avengers 2. I personally liked how Marvel is handling the cinematic universe, where all the movies are related to each other, but have enough content as a stand alone movie.
  4. You think it's crazy? Yeah, we Asian guys get to see it first, but we don't get to see the last minute additions. Like for Avengers? We didn't get the shawarma scene at the end of the movie. But then again, we're just 1 day ahead of the UK opening, which I guess is today, the 25th, right? Our time zone just happens to be 8 hours or more ahead of the rest of you guys. So when it's the 23rd for some of you, it's already the 24th for us. One thing about this movie is that it streamlines the movie Tony Stark into the comic book Tony Stark. I'm not going give any spoilers, but Extremis is mentioned a lot. And I mean a lot. Oh, and you'd be surprised about how they treated the Mandarin. Some might find it funny like I did, but others might find it infuriating.
  5. First day of showing today and just saw it. I can't believe I skipped work just to watch this movie. Well, I did have to renew my drivers license so I guess that's a good an excuse as any. Anyway, the movie wasn't up to my expectations. It was a "meh" movie for me. Didn't see a lot of screen time for the Mark XLII. Funny after credits scene too. Didn't expect that guy to be there. After so many Marvel movies that came out, I can't believe that there's only a handful of people who actually waits for the after credit scene.
  6. It's a shame too that no one is interested in shadow skill. I found my love for Shadow skill in the TV anime. The OAV just sucks animation-wise.
  7. Totally rocking the Z10. Yup, I finally succumbed to the Blackberry Z10. Didn't have to shell out another $500 either. I got it when I renewed my contract. Good thing that I waited months before I renewed my contract. Pretty interesting story actually. Rant is hidden in the spoiler. Feel free to skip.
  8. Oh, here it it..... www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnEddK76EoE Oh, did I mention we get to see it in theaters next week?
  9. Some more from the gallery: I uploaded a youtube video for the hologram somewhere.....
  10. Hehehe. If you're a real Iron Man Fanboy, you should be in Hong Kong. Take a load of these pictures I took. Suffer with Envy! Nyahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
  11. Didn't we last see Alchanfel flying off to somewhere? Is the bed in his temple so uncomfortable that he had to get away and sleep in a nice bed? Or is it because he was tired of Balcus' whining that he just have to get out of there?
  12. I've read all four of the twilight books even before it was made into a movie. I have to admit that there were instances that I can't put the book down. I hated book 2, and I hated Bella in it and I saw her as a skanky two timer. It's a good thing that book 3 and 4 managed to get things interesting again. Now, for the movie. I hated it. I hated Kristen Stewart and I hated Robert Patinson. In the book, I was actually team Edward, but in the movie, I immediately turned to Team Jacob. Twilight getting the Razzie award is well deserved. The acting of Kristen and Robert was awful and didn't do justice to the book. Taylor Lautner actually did a decent job portraying Jacob. Yeah, you could say that I'm one of those haters of Twilight, but I hated the movie but loved the book. Now that's out of the way, it's interesting how you compare twilight to guyver. I have to say that guyver, despite having some emotional elements, is not the main focus as compared in twilight. Sure, there may be some similar elements and characteristics, but I think these has something how I perceive as stereotypical.
  13. Please allow me to answer everyone as to why an english translation is not available for the general public starting with the chapters of volume 30. Modesty aside, I'm the one who is mostly responsible in translating the monthly chapters. And right now, I am withholding translations because I am a total prick! If you want somebody to blame, then blame me. As some might point out, it's a free world, and you can do as you please. If you know Japanese, then you can translate the manga yourself by all means. If we want to be technical, the presence of the raw itself is already a violation of the international copyright act, which is tantamount to piracy. Not being able to understand the book is not an excuse in promoting piracy. Piracy is only allowed if you are either Johnny Depp or someone who can stretch their arms like rubber and answers to the name of Luffy.
  14. Wow, quite a surprise, we were discussing a guyver chapter and now we are discussing genitals? What has the world come to?
  15. please phrase it more like this :- How you said it seems as though it was a wasted venture, but it was far from wasted. I have learnt so much. I learnt that I love kids. I will miss those guys. I learnt that my family thinks more of me than I realised. I learnt how to deal with multiple new situations. I learnt how to get past some of my hang-ups. I learnt that happiness is more closely related to individual people than arbitrary locations. I gained a degree of personal strength and also learnt of some of my weaknesses and am able to accept them. I learnt a lot more things than this but I am of course still processing. Now you understand where I was coming from when I posted that image (sit down, try not to cry, cry a lot) a few weeks back. I can't view youtube in the office at the moment so I'll get to that later. One probable reason why your phone can't connect to the network is due to different frequencies. In Korea, they use UMTS 2100. Does your phone support this particular frequency? While I was in the states, my Nokia E66 wasn't able to connect to any of the networks due to the limitation on my phone, but my blackberry curve was able to do so. Carrier relations/partnership also plays a vital role in connectivity. If your carrier does not have a native partner, I'd imagine you won't be getting any signal at all.
  16. Archanfel is unique and immortal, ie, no reproduction, plus he is designed as the supreme commander of an army - and I have never seen him eat or drink. I doubt he has genitals, nudity would mean little to him. Dude, you obviously forgot rule #34, if it exists, there is porn of it. You might not like it, but there are probably tons of fangirls going giddy over a nekid supreme being.
  17. I'd imagine a lot of doujin popping up with that nekid person.
  18. Oh man, that's tough. And here I was hoping to drop by you someday when I eventually travel to Korea. You might be right about the cleanliness, and probably because the basis of comparison is from where we live. I've been to the West side of the world and some in the Southeast Asian region, and I have to say that only Singapore has the cleanest streets, hands down. Japan probably comes to a close second. I think generally people from different parts of the world are nice. The only foreign place that I've been to that I've experience people mostly being rude is in China. This is probably where the perception of the posts indicated above came from. Well, different cultures do have different ways of treating strangers. How long did you stay in Korea? Care to share some of your adventures? A day to day detail would probably fit quite nice as a blog.
  19. *SPOILERS - you have been warned* I know there was a shadow skill thread somewhere, but I guess it was too old and was eventually deleted. Anyway, due to my curiosity I was contemplating on buying the complete manga. The initial manga was confusing so let me clear this one up. Shadow skill was initially published in 4 volumes by pump comics. Under the dragon comics label, they re-released volume 1 to 4. But due to complex circumstances, this was discontinued before they were able to release volume 5. Under Afternoon KC, they released volume 5 as [phantom of shade], and then re-released [black Howling] which contains volume 1 & 2, and then [black Wing] the contains volume 3 & 4. For volume 6, they restarted the numbering to volume 1 but continues the story from [Phantom of Shade]. To clear the confusion from the books, on the bottom left corner of the book, there is a knife carving on a table, the number of lines represent the actual volume of the book. So if you look at volume one, there are actually 6 lines on the table, denoting that this is volume 6. *SPOILERS ACTUALLY BEGIN HERE* Now on to the story. This is going to be a major spoiler, and I only found out about this reading the Japanese wiki. Gau Ban does become the 60th Sevaar. He managed to attain this title when he defeated Kai Shinks. And get this, Kai Shinks is actually an immortal who founded Kuruda and was the first king of Kuruda known as the [Crimson King]. Not only that, Kai Shinks is also the originator of the Kuruda style Martial Arts. His memories are sealed of these events and was only returned to him when the Holy Maiden Rirubelt casted [Kegon] which revealed the place where he sealed his personality. Oh, and Scarface Vy Low has a twin brother named Vajula who is a disciple of Shere Khan, the mysterious figure who is also the master of Ren Fuuma. Additionally, Rirubelt is the biological mother of Vajula, Vy and Gau. So yes, Scarface and Gau Ban are brothers!!!! Now we know why Scarface was so interested in the progress of Gau. INFORMATION OVERLOAD!!! It's amazing how much information the Japanese wikipedia contain.
  20. It's quite alright. Do pardon me as well if I sounded rude. The thing about the dowries is not really greed but more on pride. One family would give out much more expensive dowry gifts expecting the other side to do so as well. It's an old tradition but one that is full of drama. It's actually more of control by the in-laws, as whosoever gives the most expensive items is the one who has more authority. In short, money talks. Anyway, going back on the real topic, I've never been to Korea, but a lot of my friends have been there for vacation. They say that the place is clean and the people are friendly. I would probably go there one of these days, but it's the language that's keeping me from going. I tell you, the Korean language is as alien to me as Hieroglyphics. Anhyeung Haseyo! Ara so! We haven't heard from Ryuki yet these past few days. Perhaps a lot of Korean girls is keeping him hostage demanding his virginity?
  21. I don't know where you guys got that idea of China but I have to disagree with the lot of you. In YoungGuyver's case, it would probably be an isolated incident and would depend on which territory he was in. Dowries are a cultural custom. The reason why some families require them is to make sure that their child can be taken care off by the person their child is to marry. Also dowries are two ways, the groom requires to give the bride's family certain jewelries, and the bride is required to give the groom's family an equivalent amount of jewelry. An example, the groom needs to give the bride an expensive gold or diamond necklace (pearls are a no no), while the bride requires to give the groom an expensive watch. How expensive the gifts should be depends on how the two families agree. Think of dowries as an engagement party. It is a custom still observed today to make sure that the future of the bride and groom would be prosperous. Just think why there are so many successful Chinese businessmen. I may not live in china, but some of the insinuations posted above are bordering insulting to me, and I know that this was not intentional. I just want to give everyone a heads up before somebody mentions something inappropriate. Foot in mouth disease does strike some of us most of the time.

The dude on the second link has way too much time on his hands. Guyver + Zoanoid Rock Session. Very cool.
  23. Ryuki, how do you find the real people in South Korea as opposed to what you see in the internet? Would I be wrong to think that there was a bit of difference in your expectations? Vanity is part of South Korean lifestyle, so I could be wrong.
  24. Hmm... for us we are currently in a transition period where we will be implementing the K+12 program. In the old system, there was Pre-school which is nursery, kinder and prep. Next is elementary, which is from grade 1 to 6, and high school which is from 1st year to 4th year. After that is college in which years depends on the course you take. Average college years is around 4 years. Now, with the implementation of the K+12 program, we will be adding a 7th grade in elementary and a 5th year in high school. Also, a lot of people here does not have the luxury to attend basic education. An average family send their kids to a private school. Public schools are just scary, where they cram around a hundred kids in one classroom. Teachers are underpaid, and the majority of children ever finishing high school is very low. I guess majority of the reason is poverty, not that the family can't afford to pay for the school, but that the children has to work in order for the family to eat. It pains me to read that there are those people overseas who doesn't want to go to school because of a whim, while countless numbers of children over here would give up everything just to attend school. They would even walk miles just to go to class everyday.
  25. durendal replied to lost unit's topic in Guyver
I dare anyone to say that there is another English website out there that has more comprehensive information on Guyver than the one hosted here. I put a lot of effort researching (more like copying ) and organizing the structure of the wiki. I'm glad that the years I've spent on building the content of wiki wasn't wasted. I hope you guys don't find my post to be arrogant, but I've really spent a lot of time with that and it's good to know that your work is finally being appreciated. Now if only someone would also continue my work on the Kamen Rider wiki. I haven't updated those for a while now.
