Back in the day, some of us were watching Power Rangers, liked elements from it, and wanted it to be more like Dark Hero. In short, we liked the idea of a sentai series. So making it more mature is no problem for me. What is wrong in establishing Rita's magic as something as legitimate as Gandolf's?

The teck manual says it is the hand creating the pressure canon. The gravity controller supplies the energy, and the pad on the back of the wrist focuses into the pressure cannon between the fingers. So we know that however the pressure canon works, we know that aside from energy it is the wrist pads doing that work. It seems that the gravity controller provides energy for many of the Guyver abilities, and the various organs manipulate it (such as the gravity gyro on the hips).

Some of the pics kind of make me wary, as if this movie might be cheezy. But I love the new look of Electro. One thing I really liked about the first movie was that it was set up to be mostly plausible. Peter started out just going out in a hoodie, then added a mask, added glasses to the mask, then finally caved and built a full suit. Like Kick ass, I hope these baddies are suiting up with what they can afford, and not just what Sony can afford. Does anyone think this new Rhino is a transformer suit?

The reason why space is black:

Theory One- The pressure canon creates a 'pattern' of gravity that simulates a black hole. This simulated black hole collects material, storing it under immense pressure. When the gravitonic pattern breaks down, all of that accumulated material is released, all the pressure is released Theory Two- The pattern of gravity is holding itself in a sphere state, and when destabilized, the graviton pattern reacts like anti-gravitons, resulting in a pressure like explosion Theory Three- The pressure canon is indeed a worn hole, a bridge to the boost dimension, or technically on the verge of becoming one. The pressure canon sits on this verge until reaching it's target, and then opens the doorway to the boost dimension for a complete brief moment. In this moment, the pressure and energy of the boost dimension is unleashed upon the target. Much like the barrier that surrounds the Guyver when summoning the armor I like theory one and three myself. One can be discounted if the pressure canon still works in space, and I'm a few books behind. Three can be supported if the pressure cannon recharges another Guyver in any way

There is a bit of confusion, because in the manga itself, the Chronos scientists were having it discussed as operating (the pressure canon) as through a worm hole; which still involves some gravity mechanics. There are a few theories on how exactly this works.

Weird. Everyone complains about the 'kinda hot' comment. Am I the only one that liked it? It was one of the few comments in the whole movie that actually made you feel something 'different' than the monotonous blaahhh, er, I mean awe and wonder.

The whole fight scene in Small ville, one would think even the government would clue in as to who was the focus. Once they started an investigation into the details of everyone involved in the alien invasion, they might realize that Clark Kent doesn't have a valid birth certificate (hehe). It just seems so soon and sudden. It's like Batman's back being broken by Bane in only the third movie already. Or having Venom in the third movie already. Too soon to happen, story wise. Yeah, I guess I can agree to Lois. I wonder though, how does that kissing power work? Is Kal El venomous? Do his lips secrete mnemonic venom? And if so, how would this affect date rape allegations? "I had her permission your honor, I swear! She just can't remember!" Seriously, who came up with this power? How would a power like this ever develop?

I don't understand what morality has to do with choice. Perhaps survival of the fittest, but even there debatable. I didn't mind the fights scenes so much. Just the shaky cam. I was surprised that they pretty much announced to the world that Clark Kent is Superman. Kinda felt weirded out by it. It makes sense in Iron Man thought.

Yes my friends, time for another science post that actually about science. This, being about misconceptions of physics:

Currently catching up on my Edgar Poe. I was amazed by 'The unparallelled adventures of one Hans Pfall'. Simply amazing to see science fiction written to such a detail in 1835. I thought Jules Verne wrote the first moon mission. I suppose I'll have to read that at some point to. Sure, there were scientific inaccuracies, but it was amazing to see how keenly everything was taken into account. I mean, building a sealed, pressurized chamber in the basket of the balloon to survive the vacuum of space? Years ahead of it's time (I'm guessing).

I agree with the shaky cam. To me, shaky cam is to be used to help make something seem a bit realistic. Like when there's an explosion, or in a mocumentary. I can understand the desire for realism here, as I think they wanted the audience to take the movie seriously- but it was just so distracting. What they were filming was so beautiful, but the shakyness got in the way. I'm wondering if they were worried about being considered as just another popcorn movie, and did something 'artistic' to separate it? I think this movie seems a bit soulless and cold because of the emotionally monotone quality. Again and again characters and extras are reacting to events with a sense of awe. Again. And again. And again. We have a tragedy, and people look at the result with silent awe. There was no real emotional voyage. I loved the beginning with Russel Crowe because we had more than just those reactions (Crowe was in the section with chroma-tone emotions?).

Citric Acid? Corn syrup? And to think that Gelatin always contains MSG? Not where I'd expect to look. Oh well.

What about Mirabilis? He is weird, mentally speaking. I mean, didn't Balcus say something about linking his mind to Alkanphel, an imprint or something? How is Mirabilis different exactly? Point is, will the Advent telepathy work on him exactly? How unique is he?

I forgot, I actually have two cells. I have one of Sho running from the first ova. In his white shirt. Signed by the English va, Tom Charles. Now where did I put that thing?

I have a cell of Sho bioboosting (ep 12 of the ova I believe). I'm not willing to part with it though, if anything, I'd like to add another of a guyver itself. I'm not so sure there are any cells from the 05 series. Isn't that around when most animation started being drawn digitally? You have an incredible collection. Truly impressive
