I am really excited. I played the crap out of Fallout 3 and it's DLC, and loved it all. (Fawkes is the best partner EVER) New Vegas was a mess, and after 3 save corruptions, I gave up on it... But it wasn't made by Bethesda itself. This one is. My only issue... What do I get it on... XB1, PS4 or PC... I am actually thinking PC... Cause some of the mods can be damn cool... And I can still use my XB1 controller.

Black Widow and Hawkeye: Worst Avengers?
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in General 'whatever'.
They are certainly some of the least powerful of the current cast, yes, but certainly not the "Worst". I mean, they make Cap out to be quite a bit tougher... But really he isn't much tougher than Hawkeye. And carries a shield? Technically Hawkeye would be the better choice, especially with his gimmicky arrows. And Widows weapons kind of change over the 4 movies she has been in... But Guns usually remain a constant for her. Guns vs a shield? I honestly know what I'd choose. And she's a trained assassin as well. So physically she's a contender as well. In other words: Captain America is the worst Avenger. ...Except he's also supposed to be a great leader too... So I guess no one is worst. -
What is interesting, is that in the last 2 weeks... With some variances on who was online, we've had probably a good 15-16 hours in Skype chatting... What about you ask? No Comment Heh... Been a while since I could do that...

Why I have some issues with Tony Stark
Matt Bellamy replied to jerrygoodman's topic in General 'whatever'.
Oh believe me. I KNOW. I was collecting Iron Man for many years before "The Crossing", and pretty much up until the Heroic Age started... Of which now I just kind of keep track of what they are doing. He was always my favorite character... Despite how much of a dick he could be, or how shafted he got in the story side. Extremis, by far, being the best thing that ever happened to Tony, both in terms of story and artwork. Ellis made him out to be a lot more sympathetic, as a man who admits he made mistakes, but only because he was trying to make things better. And Granov's artwork was simply amazing... Even if it took a long time. I've always had issues with Marvel's canon, and inconsistant use of any of their characters... But Tony is one whose personality shifts not only from different books ( Avengers, cameo's etc...) to different arcs of his OWN books. Not to mention my biggest personal beef that maybe 1 out of 10 cameo uses of Iron Man, actually get his current armor correct. The majority of Comics during the time he had Extremis used his older, pre-extremis armor. And we're talking many months after Extremis was complete. *Edit* Oh yeah, and Fraction can go to hell. -
Why I have some issues with Tony Stark
Matt Bellamy replied to jerrygoodman's topic in General 'whatever'.
That's why I tend to prefer "Iron Man" to Stark himself... Stark likes to keep things hidden and play dumb. Sure, there are guys like Reed Richards, Dr.Doom who are similar and can call him out on them... But only when it suits their own purpose. I remember way back, just after Annihilation, Nova returns to Earth, and has a sit down talk with Stark about the war, who denies hearing anything about it. Nova notes that he sent a message to Reed Richards regarding it. My guess? Richards did not bother to tell anyone, and just assumed everything would work out. Besides, they were in the middle of a Civil War. There is a great little "What If..." story regarding that wit the Annihilation Wave reaching Earth just as Cap has Iron Man pinned. It's just nice to see something that could have happened when the call was ignored. -
I think my favorite line from the enitre thing has to be "That explains the Laser Raptor."

So it seems they are doing a new figure... Guyver Gigantic. What I find MOST hilarious... Is that their "Artwork" for it, is just a photoshopped official gigantic head... On a photoshop shrunken body of the Guyver Gigantic Data file that Brian colored way back in 1999. Here's the two for comparison. They did some slight modifications here and there... But note the gravity orbs on the chest as the most stand out part... They will bootleg almost anything won't they?

I've used Firefox for... I don't know how long now. Since the very early days. Have not had any problems with it, thus have not needed to change. Though, work makes me use Chrome. And I don't dislike it, but I am still sticking with Firefox on my personal systems.

The collector in me lieks to get physical copies of everything. I like the fact that I OWN it. It is MINE. Digital releases will always have a stigma over them, especially now with Konami and the PT takedown. So some day, a game you paid for, and deleted due to lack of space, may no longer be available for you to redownload, because the game company has pulled it off the store. Which means, even if you were willing to pay again, it would not be available either way. PT may have just been a demo... But Konami has set a bad precedent in removing it from the store, and not letting people re-download it.

Gaming Konami Gaming Controversy.
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in Japanese Entertainment
The new Metal Gear Solid WILL be released. This much has been confirmed. Whether or not Kojima's name will be on it, is another issue. But it will most likely be the last "true" Metal Gear game Konami ever does. They have confirmed now that they are going to focus on mobile gaming, and if the change in laws happen, gambling machines. The whole feud with Kojima is just part of this shift... Which is probably for the best really. ANY other studio, except probably Capcom, would no doubt LOVE to throw money at Kojima and let him do basically what he wants. I would LOVE to think that this was a big conspiracy between Kojima and Konami to hype him as a creator before they change their focus... Put his name in the papers as a victim to make his value to any other company increase... But considering how they handled Igarashi as well... I doubt that is the case. Thankfully Igarashi seems to be doing just fine with his kickstarter for a new "Igavania" game. Though really, from a business standpoint, Konami is doing the smartest money making thing they can. Mobile games is where the money is. And if the Japanese laws for Gambling machines gets changed, Konami will be there, ready and rooting to get into it ( they have been big in the lobbying for the change in law). "AAA" games take a lot of money to make, and sometimes do not make much overall profit. And Konami is looking at profit only. They don't care about gamers. They care about MONEY. So anyone who says "They are not good at business" is only saying it out of spite because they assume the game THEY want, will make the company tons of money, because THEY are a fan. Are there other fans? Sure. But obviously the number Konami has, is not enough. And this is where the "Art vs Business" fight happens. And "Art" loses to "Business" every time when a big company is involved. -
Anita Sarkeesian Gaming Controversy.
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in Japanese Entertainment
Her goal is not a bad thing. But the way she started going about it, definitely zero'd any credibility as a voice for the cause she talks about. Yeah, there is a lot of sexism in games and the game industry. But using lies and half truths along side good points, does not make them any better. If she had just stuck to the truth, she would not be in this mess. A different mess to be sure, but not THIS mess. It's like she is trying to be a politician who can claim something, but then backtrack by saying something like: " Well, I am not an expert on the subject and may have stated some incorrect facts. For this I apologize." Except that she claims to be a big gamer, thus knowledgeable enough about games and the industry. Then why does she continue to make these mistakes? She has lost most of her credibility as a speaker, or activist simply because all of her "facts" need to be back-checked before anyone can believe any word out of her mouth. -
I have cracked a 360 controller out of anger. On a little part and it never affected the controller at all. Threw it down a bit too hard and hit my table. Never a game though. But anger issues are another matter entirely of course. But to get up, eject a disk, and then break it? If this was a court room, that wouldn't be considered accidental. They'd need to go get some professional help.

Do you own a PS4 or Xbox One yet?
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in Japanese Entertainment
That's probably for the best, especially if you're a Sonic fan... -
I personally think not. He's done a little growing up, and has probably realized that Sho killing his teammates was a result of them being jerks, and vengeance for that is not very honorable, especially when Sho has saved Aptom from certain doom. I could honestly see Aptom sacrificing himself to protect Sho if it came to that now. Both Aptom and even Agito have both seemed to realize that Sho is the example to follow, and both of them have been doing things wrong. Aptom would probably never admit to any of that... But his actions in battle would.

Do you own a PS4 or Xbox One yet?
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in Japanese Entertainment
No option for both? For shame! Fortunately for you, I will fix that for two reasons: 1. Because I have THE POWER, and I am going to horribly abuse it because... 2. I own both Though, you did not specify as to which system that is owned, only that they own one or the other. I play my Xbox One much more than my PS4 simply because I prefer the controller. I only one one PS4 game currently, and that is Bloodborne. And it is awesome. I mean, even with the PS3, I only ever got exclusives for it. I must have something like 50-60 X-Box 360 games... But maybe 10-15 PS3 games. -
The Guyver is pretty much "Anti-Deity" as it explains almost everything regarding human creation as " because jerk Aliens" And I think Salkafar said it best when he noted: Of course, there is a higher power that directed events: Takaya himself

I am definitely more of a pessimist. Not to say I don't have optimism in smaller doses, in certain situations. But that comes from a life that has had too many broken promises and failed decisions. I'm not really a Negative person though. I just tend to look at a lot of things from a more pessimistic or "realistic" view as I sometimes refer to it as. But I thankfully find that it's that view that allows me to be pleasantly surprised a lot more when things do go well, or better. I find that keeps me more grounded, and much less likely to be actually get sad or disappointed when something fails badly.

Human for sure... But ONLY I admit, because what I know about Chronos and their dealings as an outsider to the world. As a citizen of Guyvers Earth though? With all the propaganda? It would be a lot harder choice to be sure. I mean, they did just bring World Peace technically. And the offer to make yourself better genetically? That is pretty enticing.

Gaming Researching a game before you buy it?
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in Japanese Entertainment
With Games, I am slightly different than movies. With Movies, if I see one or two trailers for a movie, and I like what I see, I will usually stop caring about watching any more, as I am already planning on seeing it, and watching too many trailers could spoil some plot. However, with games, I will watch cinematic trailers all day... But it doesn't do anything for me other than hype. I need gameplay trailers before I can really make a decent choice. So I end up watching a lot of trailers/footage of games. There has been too many times where cinematic trailers have hyped a game... only for the game to be a shitty mobile, or just plain poor game. Games are usually always at least 3-4 times more than a movie ticket, and while some have lots ( and I mean LOTS) of hours of enjoyment... But some are so short that it feels like a waste of money. Which is one of the biggest reasons why I like purchasing physical copies of games from a store... I can bring them back and at least get SOME of my money back. -
Snakepit Power Ranger costumes!
Matt Bellamy replied to PrimalNemesis's topic in Japanese Entertainment
Actually, now that I look at the images more... The Kiba costume is most likely unfinished. If you look at the other guy wearing the green, he is still using classic gloves, and not the ones JDF uses. My guess is only the body suit was done. Not even the chest armor was new. Likely, they had not had Aniki Cosplay make new armor.I would now very much like to see it completed. -
Snakepit Power Ranger costumes!
Matt Bellamy replied to PrimalNemesis's topic in Japanese Entertainment
Here's the best part! The video that Jason David Frank USES the suit! It looks REALLY good in motion, and JDF is still in top form. My favorite little bit of geeky info though? Is that actor Jay Tavare reprises his role as Vega from the Van Damm Street Fighter movie. I mean, how totally geeky/awesome is that? -
Nintendo Code-Named "NX" Announced.
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in Japanese Entertainment
Even though this isn't a rumor, as Nintendo has confirmed it... It basically should be treated like a rumor, with a lot of speculation, as Nintendo has done this before, and screwed up badly. Currently they have confirmed that we will NOT be seeing anything on the NX at E3 this year (June 16-18). So it's really to early to say ANYTHING about it. Because Nintendo hasn't either. It is literally nothing other than a name at this point. -
Say hello to the newest console - Nvidia Shield.
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in Japanese Entertainment
Meh. Pointless unless they can get good exclusives. My friend has a portable Nvidia Shield, and it is a great little device, that is best used for emulation (great even. If I didn't just buy a new PC, I'd have picked on up). But as a console? Even for that price point, it is still better to spend more, and get a better system, with a lot more features. Plus, there is the other big elephant in the room: PC gaming. It's the " I can do everything you can, and better... If you put enough money into me." It really makes no sense at this point, until it can score some exclusives that might help. And that will be the ONLY way it can actually "Compete" with the big 3. (much like the guy in the video, I agree that the Wii U is in a class of its own) -
People who literally take gaming seriously.
Matt Bellamy replied to H222G981's topic in Japanese Entertainment
It sadly is the culture that has arisen around "TV/Game Parenting". Younger people these days are much more likely to be spoiled, bratty, and moody than in the past, because parenting is not the same as it was when I, or even my parents generation was little. They are used to getting their way with everything, and as soon as someone changes that, it's a huge shift and they can't handle it. Kids are being left in front of TV's, Computers, Tablets etc... so that their parents don't have to put up with them. They use them as a means to calm their kids down, and keep them distracted. When you do that for so long ( ie years), it takes a horrible toll on a childs mind, and it becomes their obsession. Then, when the same parents, who didn't care to properly raise their children decide to take away their obsession, the kids go berserk because they can't mentally handle the fact their obsession has been ripped from their hands. My brother is currently having this problem with his daughter, who is only 3. She has her own iPad ( an older model they had when they upgraded), and would not even eat dinner sometimes unless she had a movie playing at the kitchen table. Thankfully, now that she is getting older, and playing with actual toys, she doesn't depend on the ipad, so they are hopefully trying to get her away from it as much as possible... And not make the same mistake with his son. -
Cheating for yourself is fine. Just so long as it does not affect other people. Like in a vs game or an online game. This I cannot condone at all. I tend to try not to cheat the first time I run through a game, but later runs I might throw a cheat or two on. Some for fun, other because of frustration or just to make it easier. Especialy when I jump back into old snes/ps1 RPG's and just want to play for the story. Max lvl, infinite hp, max money, no random battles... etc. As for the PS3 cheating... I would NOT recommend it AT ALL. A ton of games you might cheat with, have onlien playability. IF you get reported for cheating, many bad things can happen: - Ban from the game servers - Ban on your current account from Sony - Sony making your console ONLY play offline. Even with other accounts. They can, and WILL do any of the 3. You may OWN the system, but you LICENSE software, and are subject to their rules. For example... I see Borderlands 2 listed in that cheat list. If you bring your cheated character online, they can ban hammer you, and you have no one to blame but yourself. This is also why Rockstar are banning GTA5 accounts because of cheats used online. You are free to use any mods or cheats so long as you stay offline. But as soon as you cheat online: BANNED. It's why everybody should actually READ the agreements they accept when they sign in on their consoles.
