  1. It doesn't look too bad of a design... And is about time. Mazinkaiser is quite old now, and Great Mazinger hasn't had a style upgrade at all, and has essentially been the same since it's original appearance. I guess it was always seen already as an "Upgrade to the main character" despite being piloted by someone different, that when they did upgrades, Only Kyoji got them, or a new unit was created (Grendizer). The one time I remember it getting an "upgrade" was during the Mazinkaiser OAV... And it was only a "Finished" version of Great Mazinger that was tuned up and more powerful... But looked exactly the same.
  2. Looks like she has the same "Visor" issue that the Figma Guyver 1 has. Looks like another job for guyversudo!
  3. Oh crud, seems like they didn't carry over in the update. Completely missed that. Will look into that.
  4. Is it sad that I want to complain that, IF that is indeed supposed to be the T-Rex... Guyver 0 is waaay too big?
  5. The Guyver 2 Female Figmas will be released sometime this month, but no dates are usually specifically set for figures. We only usually know when people start getting shipping notifications for their preorders. But so far, no one has gotten a shipping order as of yet.
  6. That's just how every game company has always done it, saying that " It's not supposed to replace" something is essentially saying " Don't stop buying games for this older system just because we have a new one coming". And with the rumored price point, it puts the system dangerously close to the new 3DS prices as it is. If anything, I think the switch is Nintendo finally "Getting it" in terms of what their audience wants by figuring out what their strengths and weakness' are. Both Sony and Nintendo had hints of great ideas with the Vita and the Wii U, but both failed to fully capitalize on the things they did right... But with those 2 "failures" we have something nice and refined, that could be the next big thing for gaming. See, the Vita was a state of the art handheld, with power to play games with excellent "Near AAA" graphics... But was bogged down by a parent company who didn't support it, bad marketing decisions and gimmicks no one wanted to use, but were forced to. While the Wii U was an under powered system that barely did anything new, other than the controller, and a company so blinded by greed that they did not realize why the Wii had been such a success. The only good thing to come from the Wii U was the concept of playing your games on the TV, then switching to the handheld controller... Something Sony did in reverse with poor results with the Vita. And as for the 3DS... Well the only reason it is so popular is because of the support Nintendo pushed for it. Good games keep it alive... But VERY few games ever make proper use of the 3D, and very few people still use it unless necessary... And with it's somewhat awkward button layout ( especially on the New 3DS XL's) it'd be a good time to replace it... But let's not forget that they almost tanked it with the first version of the 3DS ( I was an early adopter)... But they apologized and put their weight behind it, and now it's a dominant gaming platform in a world of PS4's and Xbox One's. The Switch however seems to be focusing on all the good parts from what was learned in the past. Small-ish, powerful system, able to play on TV or hand held without the controllers changing much, and without any big gaming gimmicks to force Dev's to use. No motion controls, no weird touch pads, just a simple controller system with a rumored touch screen. The only gimmicks it has, only make it more fun... - Powerful system with rumored 720p graphics or better - Able to play on a TV, hand held, or as a monitor with controller - Supports different controller types that aren't gimmicky ( Joy-Con dock, Joy-Con undocked, hand held, pro controller etc.. ) - Supports simple Co-Op/VS play on one system by using the Joy cons as 2 smaller controllers - Able to wirelessly connect other Switch systems to play vs or co-op, sometimes 2v2 (something from the 3DS tech) - Early rumors from Dev's are saying it is easy to develop for - The lack of "silly gimmicks" is a great gimmick. If Nintendo throws their full weight behind this, and it looks like they are, this could easily replace the 3DS and put Nintendo back in the running for being known for great gaming overall, rather than just for their handhelds, where they have always dominated. All this is why I am excited for what this could potentially be.
  7. With the rumored price point of $299 US and a new proper Zelda game at launch... It's probably a day 1 buy for me. Plus that Pro controller... Which is essentially a XBox controller. I'm also excited because Nintendo does handhelds very well... And if this is their attempt to replace the 3DS to something bigger, I will be all for it.
  8. Let's not jump the gun. Jess said she MAY have something, but that isn't a confirmation of actually having what we need.
  9. Moviebob is a movie reviewer and outspoken geek who has done a lot of videos I have liked in the past. Back when he was on the Escapist, he had a weekly geek comment show and every Ooctober, he'd do what he called "Schlocktober" where he would showcase a few terrible/so bad its good movies. And even though he is now more independent, this year he continued the tradition. This week, he did: The Guyver (aka Mutronics), and had plenty good to say about it because these are the types of films he likes ( he even comments that Guyver 2 Dark Hero lost some of that cheesy charm that he liked, for being a more serious take on the material). So I give you: In Bob We Trust - SCHLOCKTOBER: "THE GUYVER"
  10. Lovely, Guyver 0 standing on the T-Rex's head ( well half of it =P) Good god, they need to stop with the teasers already.
  11. Most of the issue of "How powerful can a Zoanoid be" has to do with energy. And mostly energy consumption. See, as you know, one offs like Neo-Zxtole and Enzyme 3's use far too much energy, and will literally burn themselves out in a short amount of time. Even though I don't know if it has been said, but I am betting that the Unus are probably not long lived units. Probably only a few years with proper maintenance. The best examples of this, are the Libertus and Griselda. They have only a few years to live, and after a battle they require major changing in tanks, rather than just eating... But they are extremely powerful Zoanoids, surpassing the levels of Hyper Zoanoids. The difference here, seems to be philosophy. Cronos seems to want a stable and reproducible army. It's why there is a lot of lower class Zoanoids like Ramotith used as base Zoanoid designs. They seem to have the highest percentage of compatibility, for still very decent abilities. Sure, Balcus has made a few one offs for specific issues, but his genius is trying to get a stable army for Alkanphel, that may need to live in space for untold amount of years. Where as Hekkering, who is just as good at designing Zoanoids, has taken the opposite philosphy and made extremely powerful single units with short life spans. So while the Libertus are certainly superior to most hyper zoanoids, they are less superior in that they require much more maintenance for less use. ( Like buying a sports car and a family sedan. One is clearly more powerful, but constant use at peak will burn out the sports car faster than the sedan at normal usage) If you take the Zoalords as an example however, there is one important thing that separates them, from essentially a high level Zoanoid: The Zoa Crystal. Which as we know, is essential to keeping their power levels as high as they are, and providing long life. Without it, they can start to age dramatically (Carleon) and die. And even the Guyvers have their orb which siphons energy from the boost dimension. Without it, the Control Medal would most likely be unable to keep the bio creature from dying, or seeking alternate sources of bio energy, and is also why the Gigantic has 3 orbs. ----------- As for How many Neo-Zxtoles it would take to kill the Guyvers and Zoalords? Well, without the Gigantic, we know one Neo-Zxtole is already superior to a Guyver in a few ways, and as long as he is good as Neo-Zxtole, and the Guyver doesn't under estimate them, they've won. But with the Zoalords, would be sacrificial moves to injure/hold them and having maybe 1-3 of them attack with the Blaster Tempest. But that would be very situational. We know that Zoalords normal shields have issues with Megasmashers... And while a full two cell megasmasher shot might not KILL a shielded Zoalord, it would certainly likely injure them badly ( except maybe Shinn as he is pure shielding power, and was able to block the Gigasmasher for a short period of time) That being said, a full Blaster Tempest seems to be more powerful than a normal megasmasher, so it is certainly feasible that one Neo-Zxtole would probably do damage to a Zoalord with it, if it were given the chance to charge up. As for the Gigantics themselves... It'd probably take a lot more, as the Gigantic was designed to fight Alkanphel, who is at peak, a lot more powerful than any 1 Zoalord... Which is why the Gigantics have had such an "easy" time with the ones they have killed so far.
  12. As decent as the trailer seems, we've heard reports that the creation of the movie is just as big of a mess as previous WB movies... But, I will wait until we've seen the movie before we know for sure.
  13. The movie that Suicide Squad was attempting to be like, was of course Guardians of the Galaxy. IE take a quirky group of "Villains" and make them into "Good Guys". Their first big mistake was trying to be like anything at all. They should have done something original instead of trying to copy/cash in on an idea. That's what those B-Movie studios are for. WB is a big studio and shouldn't be trying to pull that kind of stunt. This was a movie without a point or purpose cinematically ( other than trying to cash in on the Quirky Team movie "trend"), as it may tie in somehow with justice league, but it is very unlikely it will be mentioned at all. Then of course comes in the studio meddling... Which WB needs to stop. For the most part, Marvel/Disney do their nitpicking before their movie starts filming, and so far it's turned out bad once, and still ended up in an excellent movie ( Ant-Man). WB are trying too hard to make a movie that "Everyone" will like, and end up failing. Marvel makes "Fun but flawed" movies and just hopes the majority of people like them, even with their flaws. Suicide Squad should have been a simple premise, driven by quirky characters and one liners. Not some convoluted mess with betrayals and such, and only really focus on a couple characters... Should have just been a " Really bad Dictator needs to be taken out, but legally we cannot. Send in the Suicide Squad." and let the characters personalities and actions speak for them. Sure, the villain would be probably a little weak... but when you are trying to establish a cast, it matters little ( see Guardians of the Galaxy and Ronan... You know, the guy with the hammer? No not Thor, he wasn't in this movie. Blue face with stupid black paint and dressed in all black? No? See, forgot already). Everyone remember that Suicide Squad trailer with Bohemian Rhapsody playing during it? You could have thrown the plot I just mentioned into the movie that the trailer was hinting at, and it would have been a perfect trailer for a nice little action movie with fun characters. But nope. I still can't believe WB and DC keep failing this hard in terms of quality. Sure it made some money, but fans will pay to see any crappy comic book movie, AND defend them because they don't want them to all go away... But these movies do need to stop... As the only thing they are doing is making Marvels movies look better when the obvious comparison happens.
  14. WHAAAAAT? Playable Zodd!? I was already planning on picking this up... But now I need it more!!!
  15. The last chapter was released at the end of April 2016, but is listed as "June 2016" due to the way the magazines are dated.
  16. Another one of the "Big 3" Shonen Jump series has finished, leaving us with just One Piece left ( with no end in sight). So, how was it? A strong start, with very outstanding MEH ending. Both because of a creator who is a great artist but poor story teller, and meddling from Shonen Jump executives. Bleach was a series that opened with a fairly original plot, and only got better... Until it started to hit the "Popular Shonen Jump Curse". And while a better writer could have mitigated some of the issues, Kubo Tite is not a very good writer... And thus Bleach started showing signs of weakness before other series and was made to drag-on (Ball. HA!) than it needed to. So where did it go wrong? A lot of people will point at the end of the Aizen arc, and they would mostly be right. However a lot do not know that the Hueco Mundo Arc and the Aizen arc were apparantly inflated by Shonen Jump executives, due to the mega popularity of the series at the time. (Apparently the "Espada" were a creation of a Jump editor, and not Kubo Tite himself.) That being said, once the arc completed, it would have been a perfect place to end it. But because of the "Popular Shonen Jump Curse", it was continued and went on further... Which Kubo Tite obviously did not seem to have planned for, as the remaining arcs, while not without cool moments, are quite significantly worse than the previous ( I mean, he de-powered his main character, and then had to find a way to power him back up). But of course, that is just talking about the manga. Then there was the Anime, which was cancelled after the "Execution" arc completed. The reason it was cancelled? Likely due to lower popularity after the Aizen arc, and not enough manga to make a new arc, so they would have had to make another filler arc... Which was the Anime's biggest problem: (poor) Filler episodes/arcs. Here's a shocking bit of info... Bleach the anime was 366 episodes long. Guess has many were filler episodes? 181. Almost 50% of the anime was filler episodes, and not good filler either. So, when the anime was cancelled, it was announced that the newest story arc would be "The Final". And the thing went on for like 200+ chapters more, filled with more pointless fights from characters we barely cared about... Only to get a very rushed ending, with very little closure... And left open for a possible sequel... About the kids. If I had to give them a rating... I'd give both a: C... Despite the filler, which I did not watch all of, the Anime still added some good music to a lot of the fights, or it'd be an easy D. They really should have ended it with the Aizen arc, and let it go out while it was still popular. It could have been remembered as something favorable. Then they could have done a few movies/one shots to give fans a little more, instead of wasting away like it did. It's just a shame that Shonen Jump will always try and milk every series it can, instead of letting creativity decide the fates of series.
  17. The viability of Chronos actually winning kind of depends on what era they try to take over. The power levels of heroes have been up and down over the decades,(especially in DC, but Marvel too) but probably the best era for it, would probably be now, since they have definitely made efforts to try and bring some of the powers down to more believable levels. Essentially it boils down to if the majority of heroes are strong enough to handle Hyper Zoanoids. Let's start with SHIELD. They are mostly humans with weapons. Sometimes powerful laser weapons, but seems to be more recently very normal-ish weapons. Nothing to spectacular. And since Chronos would have Zoanoids infiltrated into SHIELD, they could cripple them pretty well. Most of the "human" heroes probably could not either, unless they get a lucky shot, or someone like Stark or Richards made super advanced weapons. Then you have your "medium" heroes... Ones that could barely life a car, or have minor energy projection ect... They probably could handle some regular types, but probably not hypers, which sometimes survive tank rounds. With the "Super Powered" Heroes, I doubt a single Hyoer would do much, but perhaps if they gang up... But for the top tier of Heroes, the Zoalords might need to step in. With any "Cosmic" or "God" tier Heroes/Villains... Well they would definitely give Chronos trouble. Probably only one of the two classes that might really give Chronos trouble. The final tier is something that doesn't exist at all in the Guyver universe... Magic. Chronos probably does not have any defense or knowledge of it, and most likely would be a big weakness. All that aside, this assumes that it is the Chronos we know coming into the Marvel universe. If Chronos was built and started within the Marvel universe, X-Day is even MORE viable, because they would have Super people of their own, and quite likely people who can counter magic... Not to mention the good old tactics of putting Zoanoid agents into strategic roles around the world... Or even the scariest... Using the X gene to create even more powerful Zoanoids or Zoalords.
  18. Takaya has been a Professional Manga artist for 30 years, with both a legitimate publisher, international releases, and even multiple animations made from his work. It's a little different for him when people are complaining about his output when people have to pay money for his releases ( again, there are a lot of people here PAYING for the content as well as in Japan itself). The sense of entitlement that comes from this may not always be rational... But for people who have bought 32 volumes of manga with the hope that they will actually see it end? It is kind of warranted in some cases. Now Takaya did say that he was very aware that people want to see this series finished, and hopefully this downtime is related to this... But since they never actually tell us why there is a hiatus, we are left to wonder just why it is happening. For instance, when he put Guyver on hiatus a few years ago to finish off an old old manga series he did in the past called Hades Project Zeorymer... We didn't find out until later from another publication as to what "Chimi Morio" ( his pen name) was up to. So while I do agree that people who are expecting free manga shouldn't be complaining very much, there are those who do pay for it, and you can't always assume people are reading it for free. And when crap like this happens, complaining/speculation is pretty much always a given.
  19. Even Berserk, (which commonly gets compared to Guyver since they both have similar release schedules) started 4-5 years later (1989/90) and has a creator who takes large chunks of time off as well (more than Takaya)... still releases 20+ page chapters when he does release, and is already at volume 38. At Takaya's current speed... To get to volume 38 of Guyver... We're looking probably 7-8 years. Let's hope whatever this assistant does, it involves magic and/or witchcraft in order to get this thing running smoothly again.
  20. I like how instead of Evil power just powering up people from history, now they are bringing other characters from other parts of history into different story plots. Like bringing in Cooler in Goku vs Freiza. Yeah, going to pick this up.
  21. 1. The Guyver units adapt to their hosts, and are the same basic unit when not activated. So even if say, Sho got the unit that Agito got instead, he would still look the same. 2. The Unit that become Guyver 0 was most likely returned to the Creators. They seemed to know Telekinesis, since that is how they gave the remover to Alkanphel. They likely did not even allow him to touch the unit, and returned it to storage... And even if they did allow him to bring it to them, he would have, as he was 100% loyal to them ( and still wants to prove himself to them). 3. The units from the present times were from the Mount Minikami Relic in Japan. It is believed that the relic that Guyver 0 Megasmashed is possibly the one at the base of the Arizona base where Guyver 3 got his Control Spheres from. So it is very unlikely that the unit was one of the ones stored in the Minikami relic. 4. Guyver 0's armor looks nothing like Guyver 2. It's more a mix of Guyver 1 and Guyver 3 designs for the head ( but still very much its own), and the body, other than the chest and ab plates, are essentially Guyver 1 with a few more ridges. Though I personally loved the design, which is why I used him in my fan fiction oh so long ago. Going back to his looks thought.. If I had to guess why he looked this way, I would assume that the human chosen by the Creators was most likely a hunter and a warrior... But also strong and brave ( green usually symbolizes bravery/Courage). So we have an angry looking face, but a lighter, more welcoming color of armor. In comparison: Sho - Average to a fault, nice guy, definitely not a warrior. - Armor is light blue, same as the default unit colors, with a very basic body and simple face design. Does not get more "standard" than him. Lisker - Power hungry, and most certainly a violent warrior, but not necessarily "evil". Probably believes in what he does. - Armor is Gold/Yellow, usually a sign of power, with an angry-ish face. Debatable whether or not his "melted" design is an aspect he would normally have, or if it was due to the damaged control medal. Agito - A schemer. Power hungry, but almost to an evil extent. - Armor ends up in very dark tones with a mostly evil looking design.
  22. A couple more images that were shared on the Facebook group. 2017 is all that was said so far.
  23. ...That is EXACTLY what this is. The Musou series when translated for the west becomes Dynasty Warriors.
  24. Yeah, essentially it was a run of the mill "Boy fights monsters in power suit" story, and early on it really on seemed to have enough plot to move to the next fight. Thankfully the popularity kicked in, and he sort of started to fix it pretty quickly, but the earliest of stuff was always very bland and rushed. That truly was the thing that the 2005 series provided ( that and more Guyver 2! Again, rushed in and out of the original story)
  25. I think they might be a BIT longer than what has been shown in the past. This is probably the best image I can think of for a good side view of Guyver 3's blades... Definitely not as long as on the statue.
