  1. That's exactly right. I completely agree with you. The Queen Hybrid was a genetic mutation, not a natural phenomenon. Queens carry the Royal Jelly line, they always look the same. They're the only "pure" xeno's. No matter the host, they always look the same, that's what makes them so deadly. I also agree with the concept of the Predalien, I've always felt that way. The idea of a xeno having dreadlocks from a predator, would be like a xeno having the hair from a human. I always though they'd look so much cooler if they had the long crest like head, without the locks; and had a darker slimmy color to them, like the others do. But again, I'm being a critic lol. This by the way is nothing. I could go on for hours on the predalien alone and really rip into it.
  2. How...disappointing
  3. This is something I've noticed in several animes, predominantly in the various Gundam series and/or other mechas. That is, whenever the Middle East is portrayed, the natives of the land are seen as nothing more than a bunch of resistance fighters. They're also portrayed in a Western like manner though. Fighting alongside women, treating everyone with respect and dignity, and everyone has equality. It's like they're really nothing more than westerners who just so happen to be in the Middle East during the conflict. I find this not to be an accurate depiction of the Middle East or those various cultures. I'd be much more interested in an actual Middle Eastern resistance group than a westernized one. We see westernized resistances all the time; a different type of resistance group, I think, would be pretty cool and interesting to see. Seeing their perspective on things, their strengths as well as their weaknesses. I don't know. But why do you guys think this is? Is it ignorance on the part of the story creators and of the manga? Are people so gullible that they think all resistance fighters are the same? Or maybe it's an attempt to make their culture relate-able? I dunno. It just bugs me sometimes when I watch these episodes. I just wish they were more realistic and displayed accurately. Thoughts?
  4. AvP I's concept was fairly entertaining, and I liked the idea. The film itself, however, was laughable. It was too fast paced, it lacked a significant amount of character development. Throughout the entire film it felt like a lot of the dialogue and conversation were forced. I remember thinking to myself, "am I supposed to like this person?" I mean, there was no character likability in it at all. I cared about no one in the entire film. Even at moments where you're supposed to feel sympathy and sadness for the individuals, I felt nothing. There was no macho manly stuff from say the Predator films, and there was no awesome female heroines either. One potential female died immediately, the other, the one I really liked, proved to be a failure. She survived but she sure as heck was no Ripley. They're cardboard characters just in the film to die so we can see the aliens. The pg-13 rating? Don't even get me started. AvP is NOT an action sci-fi. It's a horror survival. I think many people have lost sight of that. It's humans pinned between two incredibly hostile, overwhelming and horrific super-predators. One with advanced technology that loves to toy with it's prey, hunting them down one by one. Easily capable of killing them all at any moment. And the other, a natural hunter. Problem solving intelligence, ambushing, sneaking around and unstoppable. AvP did not deliver this. Again, the concept was great, but there were too many problems with the film. The AvP 2010 game, was a better story in my opinion. It captured everything right. It had colonist in the hundreds, corrupt corporations, a whole battalion of marines, about ten-twenty predators and a massive hive of aliens. It was all about surviving the epidemic and getting the heck off the planet. It had the same concept and synopsis as the film too. But it was done the right way. In the future, on a distant planet, a yautja pyramid and city ruins are discovered. A team of scientist are sent to explore it. Throughout their exploration they find an imprisoned Queen. They capture the Queen and start using colonist, from the nearby prospecting colony, to birth xenomorphs. When the scientist open a secret chamber in the pyramid a massive pulse of energy bursts forth from the building and it fries all the circuits within the nearby laboratory containing the xenomorphs. The xenomorphs break out and begin to harvest people within the laboratory. On a distant planet, the yautja are informed that for some unknown reason their ruins have been activated. Upon further investigation the yautja discover a xenomorph infestation has begun. A large hunting party is sent out to contain the situation, recapture the Queen and kill all the trespassing humans. The party is led by three Elites and is overseen by an Elder. By now, the xenomorphs have spread so great in number, they have begun to attack the prospecting colony, and harvesting the colonist. During the panic of the xenomorph infestation the colony sends out an S.O.S. to which the Colonial Marines respond. Some time later, never specified, the marines arrive before the yautja and send a large portion of their battalion to the planet. However, when the yautja ship enters the planets space, it immediately destroys the marine cruiser. Wiping out the remaining marines on the ship and destroying their ride home. Now the marines are stranded on the planet, surrounded and many companies are separated. Throughout the story you find more and more bodies of the marines and it quickly becomes apparent the mission is a mitigated disaster. The situation quickly turns from a rescue mission to survival and escape. In which that becomes the main goal. Now, I made a really LONG story very short here. But this, this would've been a much better flick than the first AvP film. Mind you it would've been difficult to pull off, but it got so much right. I mean, as Sal pointed out, even the timeline of the first AvP film was off. And don't even get me started on the second. With the whole Pred-alien Queen hybrid. UUUUUUGGGHHHHH!!!!!
  5. Sorry I haven't been sharing any of these. There are several more videos but I'll just share this one for now.
  6. Maybe Archanfel knows his time is short and he's having Apollyon taking the crystals to empower Apollyon. Maybe having him take Archanfel's place. May seemed far fetched, but it wouldn't surprise me. Seeing Archanfel give the guy all his power and that of the other Zoalords. Doing that just might make him even stronger than when Archanfel was first created, and able to break free of the Creators thought waves.
  7. I mentioned before, I think it'd be cool if they made an animated film about the Arizona Incident. The four proto-zoalords battle against the council and Murakami's escape. I think it'd be really cool and fairly simple to do.
  8. I still disagree. I have nothing but contempt for Prometheus and Alien 3 (unless it's the Assembly Cut, which makes more sense and adds to the franchise). It was a horrible film that got everything wrong. And that's the thing about the origins. I love how they're so many theories and ideas. Xenoprime, a natural predator born on a distant home world in the deepest darkest corners of space. Created by the Engineers as biological weapons. Created by the Yautja for sport. And a few other theories. You never have to tell an origin story to keep audiences entertained. That's just like time travel stuff. Lazy. Complacent. Poor story plotting. Just unimaginative. All you have to do is get creative, use your imagination. You can add to a franchise without having to retcon something or go make something that contradicts with already established lore (the same problem I have with Blizzard and Warcraft). I mean sometimes it's appropriate to cover something from the past. Example, say you're writing a story and in the story there is a reference to an older war that had great significance in the events of the current story. Well going back and revealing the events of that war would be appropriate for readers, in order to put things in context and perspective for them. An origin story of Aliens? It's not necessary. It's not needed. Sure it might appeal to some fans; but again it will completely erode all the mystery surrounding the species. It will dissolve all the previous theories. It forces it into a small box and will establish limitations for future stories. Like I said, you can create more stories of anything without having to tell an origins. You just have to be creative and use your imagination. I've been doing that my whole life. Fan fictions and all sorts of stuff. I mean, heck, not to sound arrogant, but I know some of my own alien fan fictions are much better than Prometheus, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection. Not to mention the abominable AVP films. But that's just the massive critic coming out of me. Family and friends hate watching movies and animes with me because I'll tear em to shreds. I'm a harsh critic haha.
  9. Personally, I think alien was better left without an origin story. It helped create and stimulate the horror of the creature. The mystery and imagination. Everything was left unexplained, and in the end it didn't matter. All that mattered was the alien existed and it was going to kill you. I think sometimes, things like this, can do more harm than good. It takes away some of the mystery and charm of the series. The magic of the horror. I dunno. I'll see it, only because I'm a die hard aliens fan, but I don't know if I'll like it.
  10. Thinking about getting into some Gundam series, or rewatching SEED again. I did a quick wiki check and they've added quite a few shows to the metaseries. Any recommendations? I've also finished the following: The Familiar of Zero The Twelve Kingdoms Blood Reign: Curse of the Yoma [OVA] Hakuouki Inu X Boku S.S. Inu X Boku S.S. [OVA] Grenadier Vampire Knight Vampire Knight Guilty Dance In the Vampire Bund Romeo X Juliet Fairy Tail Fate/Zero Fate/Stay Night Parasyte
  11. Yeah, I love the Slayers series, it was charming =)
  12. Yeah, I finished the twelve kingdoms around last feb. I was sort of disappointed in it's conclusion. But it was overall enjoyable.
  13. No need to take it so seriously man. Of course it's far fetched, I wasn't being serious about it. I always believed that it was Murakami; but having fun with wild guesses and using your imagination doesn't hurt anything.
  14. Haven't posted in here for a while so to return, here are some episodes of Real Crusades History. Episode 79- Third Crusade: Saladin's Humiliation and Defeat Episode 80- On Forgetting A Lover: A Poem From Islamic Spain
  15. Well, I always figured one of the Zoalords would have the power to manipulate wind. Just made sense to me, having their ultimate attack be an EF5 twister or something. Having the gravity spheres fly in opposite directions while simultaneously spinning to gain momentum and absorb wind to create the twister. Least I thought it'd make sense.
  16. Thanks for all the suggestions. Yeah, I've finished SAO, Hellsing Ultimate, and Attack On Titan. Pretty good stuff. I'll definitely check out this Overlord. I should've clarified. Really any anime that has to due with the fantasy world. Anything from Fushigi Yuugi, to Slayers, to InuYasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach etc. I thought about checking Fary Tail out, but it's episode numbers does intimidate me. I'll still check some of these out though.
  17. I don't know what's wrong with me. I've been MIA with anything pertaining to anime for a long time. Almost since last Feb. I feel like anime just doesn't cut it anymore and I hate it. I want my passion back. I've tried various new/short animes but nothings been keeping my interest. I think I need a good fantasy adventure action anime. Something like Yu Yu Hakusho, InuYasha or Bleach. I don't know. I haven't been able to find anything. Any suggestions?
  18. Good memories
  19. I always wanted to see the fall of society, what all happened and how the entire population went from billions to barely a few dozen survivors. I mean I'd imagine there were at least hundreds but the show depicts it as though virtually all of humanity fell and only tiny pockets remain. I also would like to see what started it all, the origins of the virus and so on.
  20. Did you like to get into trouble?
  21. i had the lagoon monster one. Thought it was cooler.
  22. "Those who lay eyes on a Gundam shall not live to tell about it..."
  23. A commercial for one of my favorite childhood shows.
  24. Thing is, I'm a sensitive emotional type. I've done stuff before in my past. "Experimented" and stuff. I really liked the feelings and vibes i was sensing from him. But I 'm not gay. I feel bad because I feel like I lead him on or that I might use him to get those feelings without committing or something. I don't know. Maybe I should see if we can become more than friends? Maybe I'm just afraid to admit to myself that I might be bi or something? Like I mentioned before I've done stuff in my past with the same sex but that was over a decade ago. I really have no idea what I should do about this.
  25. So something happened a few weeks ago, something that's been bothering me and I don't know how to deal with it, or what it even means. I think it's time I mentioned it and see what some people think. One of my friends got a promotion at his work and he wanted to go out to celebrate and go clubbing. There wasn't anything around his town so we went to a gay bar at my town. It's well known in the U.S. and it's pretty fun there. It has an upstairs dance floor for straight people and dancing, and a gay bar down in the main room. Where guys strip and trans dance on stage. It was pretty fun that night. Met many people, got along with them. The usual stuff. Never had a problem with things like that before; but here's where something happened. I befriended this gay guy there, and we became pretty good friends. And like many of my other gay friends in the past he really wanted to get together with me. I politely declined but we ended up dancing anyways. We danced for a long while and the whole time I enjoyed it and the emotions that I was feeling. But at the same time I'm not a gay person. It's been tearing me apart inside for weeks. I haven't felt that way in a very, very long time. I don't know if it's the loneliness or what. But I know that I really felt special and cared about that night. We danced and got a little intimate, but we never kissed or anything like that. I just don't know how to feel about it. I tried to imagine myself with him or see if I was gay, and I know that I'm not. The idea of kissing him really turned me off, so I'm really confused about this and don't know what I should do or need to do.
