Animation is really nice. I'm looking forward to seeing who comes on board with this. I think you need to be a little choosy and have an application process so that people can be more committed. If you leave it casual, people may approach it casually and produce sloppy work or take too long to produce a decent volume of work. It is things like that can kill a project, so that is my advice. of course it is up to you if you want to take that advice or not.

let me clarify on my post, I wasn't referring to a tenkaichi video game, I was referring to the actual tenkaichi tournament from the dragonball franchise.

So how would people feel if a guyver film was made, and it was made by jj abrams and the story went something like this:- yeah I'm blowing it out of proportion a little bit, but do you see, this is what i am afraid of. since JJ abrams didn't seem to respect the important parts of the star trek franchise, it seems like he is the sort of person who has no interest in the franchise, is only interested in making HIS movie. Of course I have to use star trek as my measuring stick for this. I'm not a trekkie, but i have watched every episode of newer star trek. the original series is a bit harder to watch for me but I have watched a lot of them. I didn't list the first 6 star trek films because i'm not as familiar with them, but i'll give it a go... wrath of khan was of course about revenge. undiscovered country was heavily political. the final frontier was about false idols. the voyage home was about conservation. the search for spock was.... i dunno I don't even remember that one well... was it about adolescence? the motion picture... i don't even know if anything hapened in that other than a giant multicoloured cloud. but then i did last watch it when i was 6. ok, so the star trek movies were not always the best movie anyone could make, but at least they kept to the core star trek principals. actually IMO the best star trek film is insurrection, because it concentrates less on action and more on the plot. but jj abrams does the opposite. if you watch that film, you might have no idea that there were 27 seasons and 10 films before it. it's like taxidermy. he's killed star trek, then taken the corpse, ripped out the heart and stuffed the skin with a mannequin of his own design. What I am trying to get across, is the fear that he would do the same to guyver and leave us with nothing that resembles the series we know and love. It's not about making a film of guyver. any film as long as it has the name guyver. for me, that is not good enough. I'm not so desperate that i would want some punk director to take the franchise and tear it to pieces, just to get the name up in lights. how would you feel if some noob guyver fan came up to you in the future and started saying, "have you seen the stupid manga the guyver was based on? that sho dude is such a wuss and doesn't deserve to be associated with the guyver." because this is the kind of thing that can happen. don't believe me? spock kisses uhura. so some people who watched the newer film, will look at the original spock and accuse him of being dickless or frigid. @lordspleach, I see your wikipedia article, but I'm not talking about quotes from people, I'm talking about things that are clearly shown in the movie plot. Nero and Spock go back in time with advanced technology and pollute the time line. The time line is clearly not restored. Picard or Kirk or Janeway or Archer or Sisko, do not go back in time and fix the time line. The time line is changed, history is changed. It's not an alternate reality, it's an altered reality. Since Spock is a major character, in narrative terms, we followed the time line of star trek along with him into this altered history. Since no attempt was made by anyone to un-pollute the time line, The original time line is closer and closer to complete obliteration. Each new movie in this altered time line does further damage and it becomes more and more difficult to restore the trek universe to what it should be. for all intents and purposes, the events of the first abrams trek film, annihilated ALL star trek. everything anyone has watched in those series over the years, no longer exists. you might say it doesn't exist anyway because it's fictional, but that's not what I mean. within the fictional universe, all those people and stories and events have been wiped out. oh you said about nemesis, it was about cloning, but not only picards clone, don't forget about data. The whole thing you mentioned about environment effecting an individual, that is one of the issues surrounding cloning anyway. your clone would be different from you due to the difference in environment. well at least I see we agree on the best films. wrath of khan and first contact it is. although I do feel insurrection was the most faithful to star trek in terms of pacing and balance of action vs plot. what i think is very important is that we look at what the director does, what he focuses on. when criticising earlier star trek films, I think we can talk about teh plot elements and what the characters did, and how it effects them, and we can compare it to our modern day life etc. but when criticising star trek 11, all I can really do is talk about how it has damaged the franchise, how the characters behave wrong (scotty not understanding the basic principal of warp theory) insane issues with scale and unrealistic internals of a warp ship etc.

sorry, you asked me a question about super 8. I haven't seen it, but I want to impress some very important factor. that was his own creation. There is no issue of how faithful he was to the source material because the source was his own head. I'm sure JJ Abrams is a genius at doing what he does, but my point was, how he treats a well established franchise. what do you think guyver would be like if he made it? what is the core of guyver? one boy who simply wants to protect his close ones from a dangerous organisation. if jjabrams made guyver, consider this core principal in serious danger of getting completely forgotten. Even the first guyver movie by screaming mad george and steve wang, even that which is considered a pile of excrement by many people, that film stuck with the core principal, protecting mizky.

seriously? first contact dealt very heavily with post traumatic stress. insurrection dealt heavily with .... insurrection. generations dealt with the lamentations of being a has-been and dealt more with the difficulties of dealing with emotions. nemesis dealt with the issues surrounding cloning. These issues were pretty heavily represented and explored in a fair amount of depth. jj abrams has done none of this as far as I can tell. he has completely disrespected the franchise. I don't blame you for liking it, lots of people do, but that is an aside to the issue of how he treated the franchise. by the way, you mentioned that he made an alternate time line, but actually he didn't. he tagged it onto the original timeline and essentially nullified it all with the events of that movie. check the link I posted, that article talks about that issue.

Bbdude, you made a good point. a serif font would be better since this is a novel, not a comic. do we have a serif font that we have used often? I think it was bookman old style wasn't it? would that be suitable?

jj abrams? you just made me throw up. how could you think that jumped up imbecile could treat the guyver franchise with ANY respect after what he did to the star trek franchise? http://lunduke.com/?p=517 Don't get me wrong, if that was a standalone action flick and not meant to do justice to a franchise spanning 30 years, intended to address societal issues in a futuristic setting.... it would be just fine. I am sure many people like it. but when you consider that he was supposed to be doing justice to a much loved franchise, and he completely tore it to pieces, I don't even want to imagine what horrors that guy would do to guyver. I decided to watch episode 3 of this the night before last. I think i will have to give this show a miss. it is a bit too focused on death for my liking. sure, there is always the danger of death in many other series like naruto, but they don't focus on it too much, they seem to focus more on living and saving etc. in sword art online it seems like each episode is saying somebody is gonna die. maybe more than one person. most likely somebody who was focused on and developed as a character.

I haven't seen gobusters in so long. it seems like a lot longer than 2 weeks since last episode. I'm really tired of waiting...

cheers guys, well I know the process I did, I can see the things I could not correct. for example, in the second image, the bottom right corner is too dark. I just couldn't get it to fit with the rest of the image. in either image, there are some portions of the image where the blacks are dark and clean, but other areas, the blacks are not so dark and have noise. Also, I am not confident that the centre of the images are not distorted slightly. I used the warp tool and the thing is a little tricky to use. Lost unit, it took me about 20 mins to do each pic. coloured? we could have colour versions of them, but not in the pdf. oh you asked about template earlier. one page = one page. if you take the text that durendal has provided, use the text tool in photoshop to fit it onto a page with the same dimensions as the images I have done here. 1000px wide. oh, we don't have a standard for the height.... I think 1500px is best. if the text is placed onto the page just nice, then that is good. the text will be a separate layer. that is good. it is then saved as a psd file and it is done. I don't know about font. do you think century gothic is ok?

Oh, i was thinking about shellac to give it a sheen like chitin. I didn't realise it would have that effect

see if you can get some shellac. awesome job on it man. much better than my mediocre effort. silly me thought I could use an airbrush.

when I saw the preview for that episode I felt guyver was getting boring and I planned to not watch it. my brother pushed me into it and I never looked back. I was hooked. That death never got me that emotional though. not like mentioned above. Fumio in the tv series. That almost kills me. tv series may have done badly at the first death of guyver to enzyme 1 but the second 'death' to enzyme 2 was incredibly well done.

i worked on fixing up these photos that I took. it's all going to be rather inconsistent and not ideal since I had to adjust and fiddle and warp and brush up all by hand. People may not be able to tell the inconsistencies but the fact is, it's not as good as a scan. if I can manage it at any point, I could get a spare book. but these are out of print... maybe if I can find one that is already damaged? I don't want to damage a perfectly good book when they are so rare.

oh I see, thanks! yes, the quality is not best. the text shows through and they have a watermark as well that I don't think would be fair to remove. I think I need to do something with my own novel. cheers

Because for many people it isn't a scientific issue, it is a very personal issue. Research means nothing to a person who is considering their own sexuality and thinking about who they are. Personally, I've got most of it figured out, I would say I'm 98% sure of myself. So now I study other people, watch their behaviour, listen to what they say, analyse etc. who is to say that MY research is less valid than 'scientific research' ? I am just as capable as any psychologist at studying people and analysing patterns and correlations. One could even say that their conclusions are coloured by past prejudice of past psychologists. as for genetic research etc.. I don't know anything about that. But I do know that romantic and sexual attachments to certain things are not due to genetics. a person with sexual fetish doesn't get that fetish from genetics. a fetish for cars? how could that find its way into our genetic code? how much evolution would it take to evolve a creature that is sexually excited by cars? taking the absurdity out of the situation though, I have seen studies on fetishism and unusual sexual preferences. it is usually a matter of association. association and strengthening of sexual desire with a particular situation or object. I'd also like to add that I have seen twins where one is gay and the other is straight. if it were so much due to genetics, then this would be fairly unlikely. I can't say if genetics has a big effect or not. after all, men generally are attracted to women and women are generally attracted to men, there is of course a part of our genetic code that will lead to sexual preference. that much is undeniable. but this is where it starts to get messy. gender identity starts to play a big part here and we have the cases of men born in female bodies and women born in male bodies. then there is also gender ambiguity. But I believe in this scenario, there is a different situation at play. if a person has genetic code that results in them being a female born in a male body, that person does not identify as gay or bisexual. which sort of suggests that our definitions of gay lesbian etc are not concerning genetics? in my view, this is a philosophical issue, not purely a scientific issue. because it includes social, personal psychological and other issues all working in unison. should we be working to prevent homosexuality? is that what the question was? no. homosexuality is a state that a person exists in and is usually satisfied with who they are. if you change that, it is no longer that person. If it were to be viewed as a disease (which it shouldn't) then I always believe in treating the cause not the symptom. in case A where it is purely a genetic cause, then that is evolution and should not be meddled with unless we want to control nature to that degree. then we can concentrate on turning humanity into a homogeneous mass of automatons. in case B where it is a psychological issue, we need to work together to address our various social issues. But that is something we ought to do for pursuit of happiness and let the chips fall where they may. If being gay is an unhealthy result of psychological issues cause by social pressures, then it will naturally correct itself. That is a big IF.

it only has the front and back cover and the datafile. none of the illustrations. at least as far as I could see. I'm thinking though, I could photograph them and remove the distortion with some clever photoshop manipulation.
