oh wow. i didn't realise there ws any filler in dragonball. I had heard people complain about dragonball z, mostly about moves taking a whole episode. so since nobody seems to complain about dragonball, I didn't even imagine for a moment that any of that was filler material. In this case, I think i prefer to have the filler. I cannot imagine how dragonball would have been without those parts. I think they add pacing to it. I just got episode 1 of dragonball z this morning and watched it. i loved it so much more than kai. it just felt right. it's ironic. I always kept away from dragonball because of the bad reputation that Z has. now i watched it because i heard that kai fixed the major issues of z. and now that i have watched up to this point, I have found that i would prefer to watch the one i had avoided all that time.

i think it's gonna be like a rush to see this 'super saiyan' thing whatever that is all about. i'd like to take it slower but another part of me wants to get to that part quickly to see what it is all about. I've found an archive of DBZ anyhow, I'll get some of that and try it to see how i feel about it. if I find that it is dragging a lot, I can check episode guides and switch to DB kai for a few eps or whatever.

I am enjoying dbkai though. i think it was a bit jarring at first, voices i don't know, music that doesn't fit with the previous series. I think the start was a bit boring really. because of the fact I did not know the voices, the characters seemed alien to me and so when they went straight into fighting and action, I didn't feel any progression. it felt a little dull. I had no enjoyment of the fight between picollo goku and raditz, no joy at the fight between everyone, nappa and vegeta. I think i would have been better off watching dragonball z at that point. i saw a clip with gohan and a butterfly. that looked like a much better introduction to gohan. anyway, now I got to the bits with planet namek. this s much better and has some good character development. i was a bit shocked about what they did with that pink guy. of all the crimes that they could represent in an anime, that has to be the worst? so that was where it has started to pick up. i think i want to watch dragonball z. maybe i'll watch it after kai. maybe i'll switch. maybe i'll make do.

i don't think they could be conjsidered as sannin, because they split up before they became notable. but each one was the direct apprentice of each of the sannin. like history repeating itself.

ah right, I have not seen that chapter yet. the past times i have checked on wednesday it has not been ready yet.

after watching about 20 episodes of dragonball kai, I'm not sure if it was a good idea. I'm wondering if it would have been better to watch dragonball z. you see, the voice actors are different and the music is different. I realise they have had to make necessary changes, but I really miss the atmosphere. but then of course.. I remind myself that the filler materials would drive me crazy. after all, I have looked at a couple of instances where 5 episodes of dragonball z are condensed into one episode of kai. I wish they could have gotten the original soundtrack minus the music so that they could re-edit with the original voices and without the music jarring. then put the original tracks along with the action. that's not to say the new music isn't good. it is very cool in places. it just feels like a different anime. odd.

i never noticed that. is it new material for the anime or was it actually in the manga? I'm gonna guess it's 'nin'　- 忍 - that you are referring to. in case you never knew, the kanji on jiraiya's head protector was 'oil'. not sure why the toads used that kanji.

thanks to what durendal has translated for us, on our wiki page, they are following the original in different ways, the rider is using the power of the enemy to defeat them. I'm not sure if any series has strayed from that core concept. I personally hadn't considered it that way.

are the leaves falling off your trees over there? does that happen in california? I know your climate is different but not sure what that entails.

that is pretty interesting. there is some plausible explanation, that is the woman was doing what many of us do sometimes, talking to herself. but she saw the camera so she took her purse and tried to cover her face with it. but of course we cannot know. it could be time travel. or she could be an alien.

I thought i would let you guys know that i really love dragonball. after getting quite close to the end and will be watching kai in a few days.

symbol, you aren't expected to like or agree with everyone, but you are expected to be respectful. please adjust your behaviour towards salkafar. by all means comment on the ideas he puts across but your posts are aimed directly at him and may be viewed as attacks. dungarees are not seen as 'fashionable' and suggest a more individual sense of fashion. it suggests that the show creators are not going for modern stereotypes. that's what i liked about the original power rangers. they were kinda dorky. it was that innocent awkward nature that gave it charm.

٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ i might be able to get up earlier in the day. what happens if i go to bed earlier than normal... instead of progressively going later... is it even possible? maybe if i can get up earlier, I can get round to doing something that resembles work. I haven't done anything constructive in weeks. I have things i really need to get done. it is rather unprofessional.

yeah i got Hero incoming. I got 3 series to watch now. kinda contented

you've convinced me I don't want to watch it heh heh , sorry, those musics are not giving me a good feeling about the series. it's probably wonderful but i think maybe it will make me sad. to be honest, I would probably love it, I just looked at the opening. but maybe i can leave it til a later date.

looking at the dvd cover, the series looks interesting. i've seen a few japanese dress like that, it seems like an iconic style. jam project have that sort of style. i think it must be japanese rocker style?

i don't think it's going to inspire me to draw anything but i am sure somebody else might give it a try. good luck.

i wouldn't say i 'don't like' emotional love story. only, the end of zettai kareshi was very painful. I like romantic love story if it is not so painful. i think most of them that i watched have been like that to some degree. atashinchi no danshi was romantic, meichan no shitsuji was. but maybe you are talking about a different style? I guess zettai kareshi is that type though anyway.. like bicentennial man, or like AI or like chobits. they are inevitably sad because of the subject matter. no matter what the outcome there will always be something wrong in your mind. I liked ohitorisama, that was mostly a romantic drama, and the ending was mostly good. I'll take a look at Hero later on. btw i had a quick peek at otomen. i glimpsed a couple of scenes and i did like the style. they have paid a lot of attention to the setting and the environments. what is that word... mise en scene? that's what i like.
