guyver zero Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Hey all, I'm a really old member on these boards (so old my username doesn't exist anymore...) but I decided to rejoin up and post some awesome news, they've announced a Guyver figma! I hope no one else posted this yet (I couldn't see it at first glance). The mold looks really good to me, and I'll be getting it even though I have the BFC versions of Guyver 1. Here's to hoping they release the whole line, as I never had a chance to get either Gigantic from the BFC collection. http://henshinjustice.com/2013/02/10/max-factory-unveils-avengers-and-guyver-figmas/ Quote
Aether Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) ooooooohweeee! this is cool news!! well done dude!! at the same time it also sucks - how long are we going to have to wait for other figures to come out after G1??? i want a guyver 2f. are these things going to be in scale with the BFC?? the mold looks exactly like the BFC G1 so maybe??? Edited February 10, 2013 by Aether Quote
*Jess♥ Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 wow! great news!! I have some figmas of tiger and bunny. the size of them is smaller than the bio fighter collection. The image of the guyver figma looks to be the same size as my tiger and bunny judging by the base. Quote
guyver zero Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Yeah my bet is that they'll be 4 or 5 inches. Maybe the Gigantics will be as big as the regular guyvers from the BFC line if we're lucky. I know I'll be buying one regardless just to support the cause. My dream is to get a Guyver 0 figma, because..well, yeah its my namesake on here and pretty much everywhere else so it's pretty easy to tell he's my favorite. The gigantics and G2F have a better chance of happening though I think. I'm just really happy that Max Factory still thinks the interest exists for these figures more than anything else. Cannibal Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Two more photos with Guyver1: EDIT:+ http://s019.radikal.ru/i608/1302/ce/6c8091c657f8.jpg + At http://unit-g.sakura.ne.jp/ there are some more photos of it. Edited February 10, 2013 by Cannibal Quote
Aether Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) nice stuff cannibal. so they do look the same mould as before but with figma joints on the knees and arms ( shame as figma joints are not as good as shf and revoltech, but anyway beegars cant be choosers!) i like the way the legs look more managafied the way they kind of go out at a slight angle from the knees. hmmm.... if these figma figures are slightly smaller than the original BFC then they may look more in proper scale with the original BFC Gigantics. ive been thinking and i wonder if our little email campaign we had last year had anything to do with this?? it maybe unlikely but it would be nice to think we gave them a little nudge!! Raius Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 SO AWESOME!!! Glad they're bringing back G1. I wonder what brought that on? Quote
Bio-Boosted Dude Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 This is very unexpected! Is it me, or is the paint job a little different? The colours seem a little more dull around the legs, which I think actually looks quite a bit nicer than the overly bright colours of the BFC. Quote
odin Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 so beautiful, I hope this one will be affordable, I so want this to be my first figure to collect. Quote
guyver zero Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 This is very unexpected! Is it me, or is the paint job a little different? The colours seem a little more dull around the legs, which I think actually looks quite a bit nicer than the overly bright colours of the BFC. The paint to me looks closer to what came with the 21st volume of the manga. I have have both of them and did an eyeball test with each next to the monitor and it looks like the blues are closer to that one Quote
enjoy Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Hi guys, When I first saw the announcement I thought it was BFC reboot ,because the mould looked exactly like the BFC Guyver I, but after closer inspection it was indeed a new figma line. I have mixed feelings about this. Does that mean that they will not continue with the BFC line with the release of Alkanphel and Exceed? I really hope they don`t abandon that line, because those figures in my opinion were one of the best on the market - great sculpt and paint applicaiton, very good poseability and their scale was also good. I think that this new Guyver I figma will be around 13-14cm , which probably won`t be in scale with the BFC. I don`t understand why these new figure releases just get smaller and smaller... Oh well, that`s just my opinion. It`s a great start for newcomers to get their hands on Guyver merchandize and it`s always nice to see some love for the Guyver franchise . Quote
*guyverfan Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 this is good news and also bad news, border line pissing me off! good news that the only licensed manufacturer in the world that does guyver figures is actually bringing another figure out. bad news is that the new figure is a figma, which would mean the bfc line would be discontinued and incomplete(i really doubt they'd be producing both lines) and pissing me off in knowing the above, that most of us will have a collection spanning almost 30years now, starting from the first lot of kits, to the prepainted kits, to the action figures, etc, and none will have the complete characters in the same line. if they do decide to begin a new figma line of guyver, we'll still be lucky to see maybe 1 or 2 figma's released per year. knowing this, they could of atleast started this line with guyver0, and not another guyver1. just my 2cents worth anyway. seeing that most figma's are priced around the US$50 mark, atleast they'll be affordable. Quote
*guyverfan Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) and yes, even though i'm pissed off at the thought of the above mentioned, i'd still probably order 2 of each, because i'm an idiot and just got to have one!.....or.....eemm.....two! Edited February 11, 2013 by guyverfan Quote
Aether Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 guyverfan im with you as im sure a lot of us are. its so annoying they would change scale. the only good that will come from this, as i said above, is that the new guyver 1 will be in correct scale with the original BFC Gigantic. check this photo, Takaya is reaching for the new figma figure ... you can see one behind it which is the BFC and it is clearly taller than the new one (you can measure the one at the front compared to the one Takaya is reaching for at the front and it is bigger, which is what makes me sure it is the new one). i did some quick photoshop and look: new G1 against Gigantic new G1 against BFC G1 Quote
LordSpleach Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Because of these new figures, I wonder how popular Guyver is in Japan? Cause we all know how most people haven't heard of it in the Western English-speaking community. Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Because of these new figures, I wonder how popular Guyver is in Japan? Cause we all know how most people haven't heard of it in the Western English-speaking community. Well, Tekkaman Blade just got 2 figmas... So I honestly have no idea how they decide what they will make next. That being said, I hope they do more than just Guyver 1... I missed out on all but 1 of the BFC figures, and REALLY do not want to pay ebay prices to get the set of 3 Guyvers. Just Guyvers 1, 2 and 3 is all I ask. ... Ok and I guess Female Guyver 2. ... Ok and maybe Murakami. ... Ok and maybe one version of Aptom. ... Ok and maybe... You know what? I'll stop there. For now. Either way, this will be my 4th Guyver 1 figure, so even if that is all we get, at least he will fit in with the rest of the crowd. Quote
LordSpleach Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Well, for me I would want all the Guyvers, all the Zoalords, and all the Aptoms(1-6, and the Guyver sneaking suit form) at least. Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Heh... Just quickly ran the Unit-G site through google translator to try and see what I could make of his big news post, and caught this possible Gem: "Fell is currently being redesigned alkane。 But we want to seamless seamless, has a high degree of technical difficulty, redone from scratch." Could this mean he BFC-MAX figures are not finished, and just delayed due to pickyness of the designers? Quote
*Jess♥ Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 yeah, pretty much, the alkanphel model was taken back to the drawing board. that's why we didn't see it because the joints couldn't be aligned correctly. Quote

Overspawn Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Wonder what kind of improvement does the figma have over bfc? By the looks of it, this figma will most likely cost round usd60 a piece. Quote

GOOGLE TRANSLATION: The contents of the talk show, (Easy to talk to so many came out earlier) and the connection of Guyver (1) MAX Factory When I was a university student Watanabe MAX still know each other in order to obtain the permission of Mr. Yoshiki Takaya Zeoraima full scratch through the editorial department "Hobby Japan" magazine. The two hit it off as it is. Since I was around the start of the Guyver series, just change to full scratch Guyver I. Published in Hobby Japan. By the time the factory was incorporated MAX, soft vinyl kits released 1/6scale of Guyver. I heard that a lot sold. (Guyver I has sold more than 10,000) BFC series starts. (About $ 5000), released in 1680 yen as Vinyl painted Assembly Kit (Resin Kit) garage kit because it was expensive at the time. Claim came about MAX Watanabe and innovative products in time, from the executive director of the Kaiyodo "is that kind of trouble." Soft Vinyl Kit comes with the release of Volume 21 1/6scale of Guyver I in comics. It was at that time the largest bonus in the publishing industry. Yes I do not fit on the shelves of bookstores and claims. BFC-MAX Series start. One eye was the work Guyver III is, MAX Factory's Husband Su things and because corporate culture. for the same reason was Nagato Haruhi eyes are not the work of one figma. Figma story (2) Guyver I Were exhibited this time still at the experimental stage, it is likely to be quite different proportions of Maki Asai join hands. Deployment series I do not think so. It is also because I want to expand BFC-MAX, figma and I want to go slowly. Whether the end of the year should the release date. As soon as the time of Mr. Asai design will be. Questions and answers from the audience (3) Are there any new anime Guyver: Q? Is not expected to: A. Q: The figma Guyver I, or the deployment of mega armor graphics masher? I will of course: A. Mr. Yoshiki Takaya is ガムsupervision. Maybe I can be the next exhibited at Wonder Festival. I do business in ignoring the story and can not afford the deficit in the alloy MAX. Mr. Takaya (5), from MAX Watanabe Mr. Takaya "Thanks to the support of all of you, thank you to attempt to reach the first 28 years, in 30 volumes in comics this year. Thank you. In the future." Tiger and Bunny are not figma but instead S.H.Figuarts made by Bandai, still not a bad gauge on what we might be getting. I'm glad to see that Guyver is making it into the figma line as i've been bugging max-factory about that for a year or so.
