*BananaKing Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 I'd rather not see a sequal. I thought this movie did well on its own, and more often than not, sequals kind of take away fro the goodness of the original. I would like to see Mr. Sinister in an X-men movie though Quote
odin Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 sequels kind of take away fro the goodness of the original. agreed but that is not always the case, there are some sequels that are far superior to the original, Dark Knight, Terminator 2, Spider-Man 2, Aliens, Superman 2, just to name a few. I am going to watch this movie Tuesday with some friend sand will give my thoughts on it afterwards, the only thing that has me confused is Havok being there before Cyclops but this is the movie and i think they can twist things a little but just so it is not a direct copy paste of what we already know in the comics, i don't think anybody wants that. Quote
Bobby Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 That's true on Cyclops & Havok. Scott is Alex's older brother. And they have a kid brother who's also a mutant that grew up in outer space. How about Sunfire??? His powers were the result of his mom being exposed to the radiation from the Atomic Bomb drops on Japan. Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Considering how they are trying to keep close ties with the first 3 X-Men movies, any new characters that would appear, would need to not have had a cameo/part unless the movie timeline fit somewhat. Doesn't stop them from pulling characters that haven't yet appeared, out of random comic continuity though ( ie Havok), and that is still a VERY huge list. Quote
Bobby Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 How about Gambit, Cannonball, Wolfsbane, & Psylocke??? Quote
Salkafar Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 That's true on Cyclops & Havok. Scott is Alex's older brother. And they have a kid brother who's also a mutant that grew up in outer space. Vulcan. Thank God they killed him off. He had this totally unquantified, practically omnipotent power set and was totally evil. As a character and a storyline seed he was about as inspiring as a bowl of porridge. Quote
*Trey98607 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Did you know that Al Roker on The Weather Channel did an interview with one of the actors for X-Men last week? Quote
*Trey98607 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 I don't know what part this guy plays, but in real life, he has a rough looking face with some facial hair. Quote
ErutanXiku Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 (edited) Just watched this over the weekend...it's a much better movie than I thought it would be (I went in with very low expectations). However, I feel that there were some things that didn't feel right but the story was good, I could see it work. I'm pretty sure, though, that I read somewhere that this movie only deletes what happened in X3 (I liked X3)...from what I see, it deletes what happened in all three movies while keeping certain things that were established, like Mystique's way of transforming *shrugs* Edited June 20, 2011 by ErutanXiku Quote
*Trey98607 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I don't recall right now, it was last week and I wasn't paying much attention. Sorry. Quote
xfool Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 managed to catch it just recently. Nice movie overall but would be better if they provide a bit of background on Shaw ,his two henchmen and Emma. Other than that its pretty good except the part where how Xavier ended up on a wheelchair is a bit lame, is it the same as in the comics? Quote
*Trey98607 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I did some checking and it was one of these two guys: James McAvoy Michael Fassbender Quote
Bobby Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Xavier was known for being in a wheelchair. Even a hoverchair. Shaw's centuries old. In the comics, he was killed by his son, Shinobi, who could alter his density. Aniki, those guys played Professor X & Magneto. McAvoy was Professor X and Fassbender was Magneto. Quote
Salkafar Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Kevin Bacon must have worked hard on that German. He sure made a villain you love to hate. What a rat bastard. In the comics, being 'killed' by Shinobi is ancient history. He is currently without his memories, however. I like the movie better than Green Lantern. That one is bordering on being a kids' movie. Quote
durendal Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I can't believe I saw this today. I have to say I quite enjoyed the movie, despite all the continuity loopholes it got. I have to ask, while Charles was using Cerebro, I saw a kid with sunglasses. It immediately made me think that is Scot Summers. But Scot is the older brother of Alex, and Alex here is a teenager. Just something to ponder about. If I got it all wrong, then forget I said anything. Quote
*Trey98607 Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I haven't seen the movie, so is there a guy in yellow and black with sharp claws in it, like in the anime? Quote
durendal Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 There were a lot of them wearing yellow and black after they suited up. But there was a guy that the protagonists tried to approach, and he just told them to "f*** off"". Was in a Japanese bar drinking alone, and by god, he hasn't aged one bit. Quote
*Trey98607 Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Did he have four claws per hand which extended out and then retracted? He also had a hood with some sort of horn on top, I think. Quote
durendal Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 (edited) Okay, if you didn't understand what I just said, I'll just say it outright. Yes, wolverine was in the movie but only a cameo. When he told charles and erik to shove it, that's the last we see him. And I'm pretty sure wolverine only has 3 claws in each hand. Edited June 25, 2011 by durendal Quote
Bobby Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 That WAS Cyclops. He's the only known mutant who has to wear shades to control his power. The girl with white hair was Storm. Aniki, Wolverine's clone daughter has two claws on each hand and one claw that comes out of both of her feet. Though he does have a son who inherited his powers. The claws, minus the Adamantium, are a natural part of his mutation. Quote
Salkafar Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 X-23 is not called 'Aniki' but Laura Kinney. Although I don't think she uses that name. Daken, Wolverine's @$$hole son, is about 70 or 80 years old, and easily distinguishable from his father even in combat gear because he has only two claws on each hand (he used to have three, with the third ones coming out from under his wrists - but those, laced with metal from the Soul Sword and thus capable of killing Wolverine, were torn out and have not regenerated). And of course Wolverine would not have aged (much) - In the continuity of the movies, he was born around 1835. Xavier and Lensherr (not yet Magneto at the time) would have located him sometime before (maybe a few years, maybe mere hours) he went to Vietnam (where he was eventually drafted into the Weapon X program). Frankly I was slightly offended to hear that remark used bluntly in what in essence is an adventure film. I mean, "f*ck off" would have done perfectly well. Quote
